A rumour going about lastnight that borini may be interested in a move!? was at Motherwell game and lastnight apparently!?
Heard anything?

1.) 18 Aug 2016 17:59:07
Not the most impressive stats I've ever seen. In fact they are positively pants.

2.) 18 Aug 2016 18:14:26
Why do we need this dud we have ciftci already.

3.) 18 Aug 2016 18:38:01
Borini would be a star up here, half the posters on here said the same about SS, now everyone's creaming their pants over his displays, i'd take him in a second, plays CF, LM, plus he knows how BR operates.

4.) 18 Aug 2016 19:02:12
I know how Rodgers operates but I wouldn't be a star in our side I think if we are making a big signing it has to to be a midfielder who can thread a pass through defences and be able to spray the ball all over the park with accuracy.

5.) 18 Aug 2016 19:23:44
What age is Paul McStay?

6.) 18 Aug 2016 20:10:09
Id sign you up marco, you seem like you have great character 😂.

7.) 18 Aug 2016 20:25:41
Young enough! He could play one half and Lubo could play the other! lol.

8.) 19 Aug 2016 08:50:12
Thanks Bhoy wonder I would love to be your first signing and I will play my heart out but I am crap. But I have energy and a willingness lol plus am only 46 lol.

9.) 19 Aug 2016 21:05:55
46 slot right right into zombies defence, needing someone with pace.

02 Jul 2015 09:13:53
Ed007 have we made a bid for Aiden mcgeady?

{Ed007's Note - No, McGeady's agent contacted CFC but there's been no bid made.}

1.) 02 Jul 2015 11:57:32
Sounds promising. McGeady and his agent will know that silly money is not an option so if they have still contacted Celtic then they must be interested in making it happen

{Ed007's Note - Sounds promising... are you actually being serious? What would McGeady have to offer us now, have you seen him play recently? He's one of THE worst players in the EPL, his attitude still stinks and he'll want to be one of our highest paid players.
If McGeady is brought back it won't be a RD signing, Pedro needs to be very careful here, RD isn't going to sit back and let Pedro & John Park force players onto him like NL did.}

2.) 02 Jul 2015 12:10:08
Where exactly would McGeady fit in to a Celtic team that already has the strongest midfield it has had in years.

He is no better than Forrest now and I wouldn't mind losing him either.

If money is not an option for him then maybe Aberdeen or Hibs will be interested.

3.) 02 Jul 2015 12:31:07
Cheers again ed007!
I don't think he will bring anything better to the team!

{Ed007's Note - He's nowhere near the level he was at when he was here and even then I wasn't a fan, as a team we've moved on from his cut inside and ballooned shots in the hope something comes off.}

4.) 02 Jul 2015 12:46:04
not sure where all the Anti McGeady stuff is coming from, I for one don't doubt his ability at all, he left us for £9m remember and moved to a much better league and as far as i'm aware Spartak Moscow were more than happy with him while there, granted he had a disappointing season last year but he did start well with Everton but the manager preferred to go with Miralles. funny how suddenly Forrest is a better player than McGeady even though he hasn't kicked a ball for 3 seasons

{Ed007's Note - He left CFC 5 years ago now, is Kris Boyd the same player he was 5 years ago? At Spartak Moscow when his stinking attitude started to show he was disciplined, sent to train with the club's youth team, and then placed on the transfer list after ignoring team orders, he had numerous fall-outs with players and staff at Spartak and they were glad to see the back of him.
Why do you think Martinez preferred Miralles over McGeady after buying him? Just go and ask any Everton fan. Any game I seen him playing in he was awful, he looked overweight and lazy.
On one hand we've got Man Utd fans disappointed over their club selling one of their best young players in Janko to us and we have Everton fans offering to pay for McGeady's ticket out of Liverpool.
Forrest is no better or worse than McGeady, we don't need two of that!}

5.) 02 Jul 2015 13:33:24
As an Ireland fan, who follows has followed McGeadys career a lot of the trouble he had in Russia was due to the fact he wouldn't sign a new contract. Moscow were p*ssed to say the least that they wouldn't get a return on there investment.

Source McGeady Everton Press Conference 18th Jan 2014.

McGeady was banished to Spartak's youth team as a result of him not re-signing with his contract due to expire this summer.

"Towards the end I was getting a bit frustrated but I never had any falling-out with the manager," McGeady said.

"In the end it was just a case of they were getting tired of me not re-signing so I ended up getting put in the youth team, which was a good experience."

I feel McGeady could help us in Champions league I think he is suited to AM role where Commons struggles in Champions League. He will know the wages he will be coming to and played and starred in an SPL which was a lot stronger than it currently is.

Rather than waste 2 or 3 million on the Tampons/Pukki/Balde why not spend 1 million on a player who knows the expectation, supports the club and knows what's required.

{Ed007's Note - I didn't believe it when he said it and I don't believe it now.}

6.) 02 Jul 2015 13:54:15

I actually believe it :)

Spartak's general director, Roman Askhabadze, admitted the club are willing to let McGeady, whose contract expires at the end of the season, leave for the right price in January.

"The club is willing to discuss a new contract for Aiden at any time," he told a Scottish national newspaper

Doesnt seem like something you would say about someone you want to get rid off.

{Ed007's Note - Well it's a different story than the one I heard coming out his own mouth at a family wedding but hey ho.
Do you really think we should be signing players because they know the expectations and supports the club? That seems more like an Ibrox strategy to me.
If RD has any say in this McGeady won't be a CFC player.}

7.) 02 Jul 2015 13:54:19
Ronny could get the best out of him, I've no doubts about that. He'll get him sharper and fitter like he has done with the rest of the team. In terms of ability McGeady is far better than any of our wingers, you only have to look at his goal against Georgia to see that the ability is still there.

{Ed007's Note - That's a nice little fantasy you've got going there.}

8.) 02 Jul 2015 14:28:54
Mcgeady is not better than mackay stephen and he's not even finished developing yet

9.) 02 Jul 2015 14:59:37
there is no doubt that McGeady still has the ability, I went to Dublin for the republic match and myself and all the other scotland fans were delighted when he was ruled out of the game with Injury, LM67 is right to highlight his goal against Georgia and would Martin O'Neil still be picking him if he was fat and lazy,he is one of the very few real talents that have come through our youth system and been successful. the league is shaping up to be as boring next year as it has been for the last few. might be a bit more exciting with McGeady and GMS on the pitch.

10.) 02 Jul 2015 15:49:01
Just wanted to add my bit here , what we know is McGeady fell out with Boruc (big mistake) ;-) , he fell out with Strachan (for being accused of being LAZY) he fell out with NL for the same now that's a lot of fall outs!

Now am reading above he fell out in Russia and now @ Everton!

We have 6 or 7 good young players vying for 3 places

At 28 or 29 he has two good seasons in him at most as IMO your a spent force at 31 as a winger with a few exceptions

We don't need him IMO

11.) 02 Jul 2015 18:56:38
Sounds promising?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

12.) 02 Jul 2015 20:03:27
Surprised so many people think we are above McGeady. Our European exploits last season were hardly impressive. Someone with so much european and international experience would surely benefit us

13.) 02 Jul 2015 20:33:29
Don't know why he is being conpared with Forrest? Forrest is injured 80% of the time so it doesn't make any difference if he is better or worse if he got signed he would start by default no doubt. Think that celtic could do worse but only if he got fit. He's a fat git. We have GMS but I don't know how good the cover is for him. Is McGeady better than stokes?

14.) 02 Jul 2015 21:38:28
Fat / overweight- would the specialist dieticians accept this at an EPL club? No
Comparisons with Forrest - what is the point of that argument?
29 years old - so what if the transfer fee n wage is structured in Celtic favour. When did 29 become nowadays?
"Falling out" with colleagues - so what, happens in everyday working life. All of a sudden Boruc etc the Angels and players we should all look up to & hope our children aspire to be - reflect back on the actions of ex players
Subject to transfer fee & possibilty of shipping Stokes out door - would we be better off- personally speaking - yes
Overall squad enhancement? Yes, stokes, derk & other loanees wages removed. Positive
Reflecting on the massive lost finance on forward going players over last several seasons I do t understand the negativity surrounding this. Bearing in mind the player never forced a transfer when he moved & brought in significant £ fee

15.) 02 Jul 2015 22:15:15
Well put Steve totally agree. I'm hoping he comes back, was one of my favourites before he left and I don't mind a player with a bit of attitude anyway,I've no worries about him fitting into any team system as he already proved in Russia he can adapt when required.

16.) 02 Jul 2015 22:51:56
one of the most overated one trick ponies I've ever seen in my life.

17.) 03 Jul 2015 00:35:23
Jjjtim, what was ure opinion when we secured the then highest transfer fee?
I'll ask the question again, moving certain players on and if the financials are to be believed is if not a positive move?
Should we keep derk who cost £2.8 plus ££££ wages with no return or look to bring another you tube signing with a vowel at end of name?
I'm appalled at negative vibes around this & struggling to see the argument. If we were talking 7 fig transfer fee n break bank wage then ok, not even got to that yet.
Maybe we should laud Cifti who can play left mid, upfront but comes with major baggage yeah?
Just a few problems over when he cld play n is that the player we want. Lot of posters on here who are ott with moral outlook when suits

18.) 03 Jul 2015 02:52:16
nothing to do with moral outlooks and yes granted we received a huge fee for him. do you not think signing him would be a huge step backwards after securing mackay steven and armstrong who in my opinion are better prospects and far more versatile

19.) 03 Jul 2015 08:16:10
Personally I like a player who has a wee trick up his sleeve, don't see a problem having both GMS and McGeady on the park,a wee bit of flair that has been in short supply recently.

20.) 04 Jul 2015 11:47:32
@ Stevo, yes w got a good fee for him and it was good business but that does not convince me that he was a good player. Over at Ibrokes, they got around the same for Hutton ad he is, was and always will be crap. Also, the last thing that we need just now is someone with an attitude to disrupt the dressing room. I personally liked to watch McGeady when h was on his game but cannot see him training the way RD wants or him seeing "teamwork" as being a priority.
I would rather bring in nobody than risk disrupting the dressing room

Now that sevco have lost AGAIN! is it yet a possibility we can win the title against them at Celtic park?

1.) 24 Feb 2017 22:37:55
Makes you wonder if King had an agenda in sacking Warburton,?

2.) 24 Feb 2017 23:50:52
Ever seen Mary popins? Mind the guy that couldn't stop laughing? Well Gonny someone have a look see how he got back down as I've just seen they got beat again and I'm stuck on the ceiling!

3.) 25 Feb 2017 08:30:54
No we can definetly rule them out of the greatest comeback ever but Aberdeen are to far in front if they keep winning to allow us to win the title against the tribute act.

4.) 25 Feb 2017 08:55:15
It's all about whether Aberdeen drop enough points. We need them to only get 2 points from their next 3 games.

5.) 25 Feb 2017 09:19:06
Need 15 more points to win the title if Aberdeen keep winning.

28 Aug 2016 09:18:34
Excuse my ignorance but am I missing something regarding Calum Paterson?
I don't see anything that would remotely suggest he would walk straight on the team? He's an average player in my eyes.

1.) 28 Aug 2016 12:06:21
I haven't seen many folk suggesting he'd walk straight in Jones but he's definitely got lots of potential. He's only 21 and he's already played about 150 games for Hearts and scores plenty of goals into the bargain.

2.) 28 Aug 2016 15:05:15
Why do we need a player with "potential"
Janko has potential he may not be flying the now but he has potential, I thought we need someone that can command a starting place and he's not it.

25 Aug 2016 12:53:08
Real Madrid

That's my ideal draw and battle it out for 3rd spot and Europa run

Doesn't matter though who we get we will still be partying in the champions league! Hailhail.

24 Aug 2016 21:29:18
With Ajax heading out does that help us in seedings? Or pots!

1.) 24 Aug 2016 21:58:01
And possibly Salzburg as well.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 21:59:35
We are in pot 4 mate.

3.) 24 Aug 2016 22:01:01
Needed Borussia M to go out too. They took it 6 1. Pot 4.

4.) 24 Aug 2016 21:40:50
Nope we needed Salzburg and Monchengladbach out as well.

5.) 24 Aug 2016 21:44:45
No mate! We needed them Salzburg and borrusia moenchengladbach all to lose! Borrusia skelped young boys 6-1! lol we'll be in pot 4 mate!

6.) 24 Aug 2016 22:24:25
Highest ranked team in pot4.

7.) 24 Aug 2016 22:24:31
we needed 5 teams to crash out n 4 did but as Davie says Gladbach went through easy.

8.) 24 Aug 2016 23:07:28
Cheers lads! HH.

9.) 25 Aug 2016 10:32:04
Highest ranked in pot 4? Bit like coming second and being tagged as the best loser. We are in and get a chance to play and gain experience (only good if our board don't try to cash in on any players who excel)

10.) 25 Aug 2016 10:46:52
Salzberg are out lost in ET.

22 Aug 2016 07:51:04
massive night tomorrow guys!
would you bring back erik or stick with oconnell?
our weak link i still feel is gordon however to risky to change at this stage i reckon.

1.) 22 Aug 2016 08:42:14
I'd stick with the same team from last week except maybe have Bitton in for McGregor to protect the defence a bit more.

2.) 22 Aug 2016 08:52:43
I'd bring in Erik if he is fully fit alongside Kolo.

That might be a bit harsh on O'Connell and he has played a lot of games and a break occasionally does no harm. He was a bit sloppy on Saturday and this game is so important and I worry if he made any mistakes how our own fans would reaact. He has a very bright future if he continues to develop his game.

In truth I'm more concerned about Gordon and I've noticed more and more of his flaws that ED007 had pointed out a long time back. I think he looks nervous and that's not good for any defender in front of him.

3.) 22 Aug 2016 09:05:54
Think he'll go with shevy. He's the better defender at the end of the day.

4.) 22 Aug 2016 09:06:59
Agree kev! Bitton for mcgregor and keep the rest the same! Erik and kolo will be our number 1 partnership this season but Young oconnel has came in and done a good job for us! He deserves to keep his place for 2morrow! But after that now Erik is fit he has to be in there with big toure!

5.) 22 Aug 2016 09:20:48
Put Eric in from the start.

6.) 22 Aug 2016 09:23:14
If Eric is fully fit he has to start.

7.) 22 Aug 2016 09:49:51
O'Connell has been fantastic but he showed his inexperience on Saturday with 3 or 4 slack balls that will get punished at a higher level. Back 4 of Lustig Toure Erik Tierney.

8.) 22 Aug 2016 10:22:57
Ed i was watching Match of the Day noticed loads of teams are going with the 4-1-4-1 formation you suggested last week. Had a close eye on Man City they are very good at changing the system between attack and defence.

9.) 22 Aug 2016 11:26:36
For a game of this importance he has to pick the best 11 available and Schiavchenko should give dodgy Gordon more protection with Bitton and Brown in front of him.
The manager will know better than me, however, but I do think we can score away from home in most games and it would settle the whole team if we could grab a goal or two tomorrow night.

10.) 22 Aug 2016 11:55:49
What happened to "you can't play Bitton and Brown together because they slow it all down"? Maybe they just weren't playing well last season? At their best I think they are the best option for this one.

11.) 22 Aug 2016 12:04:05
I thin Brown has been playing a lot better and has his confidence back and is pushing forward more than last season. So I think Broony and Bitton will be superb in front of the defence. Looked slow last year but under BR the whole team just looks quicker, stronger and fitter.

12.) 22 Aug 2016 14:02:28
If you watch any centre back or indeed a player in any position, it's unlikely they won't play three or four slack balls throughout the 90 mins . Toura did so on Saturday
I would be surprised if B R didn't play what he considered his best team . What B R thinks is his best team and what posterson here thinks could well be different.
