A lot of good noise about the Plasvic boy, anyone have anything more concrete than that?

1.) 23 Jun 2017 19:13:13
On the bench tonight.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 07:49:50
Not putting the boy plavsic down and I know I've went on about this before . but if we don't give our own boys a shot them what's the point of the acadamy/ youth set up . why pay train and develop them for 6-7 years and then not see if they can do a job . with our current squad we must be more than capable of giving 2 or 3 a start at home games against the majority of our opposition . some will flourish others will be shown to fall short of what's required
But until given that chance they're just being trained for other teams to pick up on the cheap. hopefully the unbeaten run held Brendan back from introducing more last term.

3.) 24 Jun 2017 10:15:28
If he can't get a start for the U21's, especially when they're chasing the game, then that's a bit of a worry.

19 Apr 2017 23:30:34
Celtic haven't beaten Rangers in a Scottish Cup semi since 1925? Good job we're not playing them then! There can be no hoodoo beyond the memory of last year and imo, the team that played RIFC last year no longer exists either. Our team this year needs to play out their socks and put the match to bed before any honest mistakes can have any bearing on the matter.

We are preparing for CL qualification and if we can't beat this bunch of mugs then we're in trouble. Need to make it the game of the season, really hoping we hit them a dillion. Full gutty!

1.) 20 Apr 2017 14:09:29
As long as we start Boyata, Roberts and Rogic we will be good, need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

{Ed007's Note - We played our best football when we played 4-2-3-1 earlier in the season and with Rogic back I don't see any reason why Rodgers won't revert to that so fingers crossed but I think you'll be disappointed come Sunday when Forrest will more than likely start.
Hopefully the players are fired up for this, if we turn up and play the way we know we can we will destroy them.
My team for Sunday would be:

But I think Rodgers will go with Forrest starting on the right and I don't even want to consider that he'll go with a 4-3-3.}

2.) 20 Apr 2017 17:19:52
Ed was lustig not injured or was he just rested.

{Ed007's Note - He missed training on Friday and as far as I know it was just a precaution that he didn't play at the weekend so I'm hoping he's fit for Sunday, Steph.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 17:47:50
Yeah Ed that's the team I thought would start I was just hoping Roberts would get a start although it will be good to have him come on fresh for the last 30 minutes.

{Ed007's Note - If we can settle down and get our passing game flowing we'll have the chasing shadows tiring themselves out as the game goes on - that's the time to unleash Paddy and Griffiths.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 19:21:55
ed i like that team. was a big boyata critic but erik doesn't fill nme with confidence these days whereas boyata seems to have come on toa game. tho id happily play the developments squad let's get real bhoys this is the worst hun team in my lietime (40 now : ( ) as the song gows . get intae them.

{Ed007's Note - Sviatchenko has lost his good form, over the last couple months he's looked nervous and slow to react at times. It's as if he's carrying a knock but I've not heard or seen anything about that and there's no reason to play him if he is with the squad we have.}

5.) 20 Apr 2017 19:50:55
Ed I'm with u on that lineup, but like u have a feeling Forrest will start.
Would prefer Roberts starting n i would rather get a great 60 minutes out of him at least than only 20 odd minutes to 30 at the end.
Players like him rogic n Sinclair always have that final ball, that beating of a man n goals in them and again for me wee james just isn't on a par with any of them.
Yes he has had a better season but too inconsistent n doesn't score n create enough regularly n how many games does he win us, Sinclair, dembele, rogic n Roberts all have that in their locker to turn a game or win us game n if Roberts doesn't sign permanently it's a position, along with goalkeeper that must be addressed.
Bring on the sevco anyway, always good to put the new club in their place.
Here we go 10 n a row.

{Ed007's Note - When people say Forrest has improved I just don't see it as he's still the same inconsistent player who struggles with his decision making. The only thing that's really improved is his his injury record and that will probably be down to him actually doing what the Club tell him for a change. He's a good SPFL player but beyond that he's nowhere near good enough.}

6.) 21 Apr 2017 07:36:21
Like that team ed but he'll prob go with forrest he maybe tracks back a bit better than paddy but paddy coming on for 30 mins is the ladt thkng sevco want to see.

7.) 21 Apr 2017 13:18:35
I think BR sees roberts as a impact sub tbh, so can see forrest starting, but like fellow posters would prefer to see roberts in from the start, if rogic is fit its got to be 4231.

8.) 21 Apr 2017 13:28:31
My only issue with your team Ed is that Lustig struggled with McKay's pace at Ibrox and ended up getting booked quite early and with Roberts not the most willing to track back, it could pose a problem when they attack.

{Ed007's Note - Lustig wasn't booked until the 65th minute but hopefully on Sunday Forrest will do his job and track back to help his fullback for a change.}

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:24:03
Sorry Ed, maybe not that early but I can remember them taking heart from it and him struggling as he couldn't put the foot in after that. Forrest offers very little defensively but it's still probably more than Roberts. Attacking there's only one winner. Regardless we should have enough to do a job on them. Moussa needs a performance.

{Ed007's Note - The whole team owes us a performance after some of the recent lacklustre showings. I'm hoping Rogic coming back will give us a huge boost in the final third and with Sinclair consistently performing well even though he looks a bit jaded at times there should be plenty of chances for Dembele to put them to the sword.}

10.) 21 Apr 2017 21:55:59
Time for return to form, Roberts and Moose starting is a must but we'll see. One thing for sure, don't want Bitton anywhere near the pitch.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 01:20:47
I'll second that davie. With rogic and dembele fit a bit further up to hold the ball it let's Armstrong and brown do a bit more defensive work if needed. The back four that starts I want to see finish the game.

12.) 21 Apr 2017 23:28:19
I agree ed regards lustig and i don't get where Forrest is better at tracking back then Roberts, i think its the other way round n in going forward lustig n Roberts work better together for me anyway.
It's the 1 thing that puzzles me with Brendan in picking Forrest over Roberts, i just don't get it and most folk u speak to me would pick Roberts every time.
I back every player in a Celtic jersey but if we are to progress in Europe as well as dominate domestically we need to be strong in all positions, and Gordon n Forrest r the 2 i feel we need better quality. Roberts or a. n. other in a top keeper who actually instills confidence n pulls off the big saves at that higher level.
3 1 Celtic i reckon on Sunday, sevco goal no doubt an obligatory penalty by whichever mason is taking charge of his favourite new teams game.
Here we go 10 in a row.

13.) 22 Apr 2017 14:19:15
Roberts everyday for me, I do think there has been an improvement with JF but PR is streets ahead of him. Brown and Armstrong sitting deep MF tomorrow could end up running the show. Hoping for a great improvement on last few games.

01 Apr 2017 20:58:02
Any truth in MD and LG both being out of tommorow's game?

19 Mar 2017 19:34:17
Been reading a fair bit of stick for Kouassi, bit unfair imo. Lers judge him after he's had a bit of a run. Starting a game or even a few might be a fairer test for him than a couple of sub appearances. Will admit he looked shaky today though.

1.) 19 Mar 2017 19:54:20
I know what you're saying Davie but the thing that worried me was his body language and lack of intensity rather than his poor passing etc. He's has plenty of time to get up to the intensity and fitness levels but didn't look like he was caring. Plenty of time on his side though to be fair.

21 Feb 2017 18:28:52
Proposed plans for Parkhead look pretty impressive would imagine that it would take a pretty hefty outlay but would also be likely to be a ridiculous earner too. Will be very interested to see how this pans out.

1.) 22 Feb 2017 22:06:54
The Hotel will priced out to some big hotel chain it's far to big an opportunity for the coperate hotels to miss and Celtic get the hotel built for next to nothing they will still invest millions into the whole package and it's a no brainier for the hotel chains
Great times ahead and not some Murray pie in the sky 🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪🍀.

04 Aug 2017 12:54:37
Know not Celtic related but watching Neymar saying that his move is not about money and that he is 'disappointed that people still think like that' has been my hoot of the week! Says it with a straight face, boy must need a wheel barrow to carry those baws!

1.) 04 Aug 2017 16:28:34
Agree Davie. The impish cheeky look on his chops when he said that was impressive. The fact that he's on £bazillions per week now and the fact that his dad, who is his agent, stands to get an 8 figure sum (that'll be £10,000,000 +) will have nothing to do with any decision he has made. lol HH.

{Ed007's Note - His dad will have had well over £100 million from Barca if they're forced to pay the £26m loyalty bonus they're contesting. If not it's still in the £80-90 million bracket.}

02 Aug 2017 19:07:46
Erik is a huge worry for me tonight and absence of LG in starting in starting line up is a puzzler. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised but have a general apprehension over this.

1.) 02 Aug 2017 19:26:33
Never doubted BR, but I am worried about this blind faith in Florist and got to agree about Eric as he has been shaky and off form for a while. However, got to trust the manager.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 21:38:59
Looks like his faith was justified old bhoy!

02 Aug 2017 12:29:20
£198 million for one player? Pure madness, I remember friends laughing a few years back when I said we'd live to see a player being paid a million a week. Doesn't seem so improbable now.

1.) 02 Aug 2017 13:47:24
Daviebhoy : The root cause of this transfer lies at the feet of Sky, they are the ones that paid the EPL the ridiculous amount of money year on year, when you think of teams ( no disrespect intended) that get £100m for being relegated from the EPL and yet their average gate attendance is around 21-30k each week. That's where it started and believe you me it will IMPLODE
Absolute rediculous amout of money for ANY player.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 13:47:58
I don't like Neymar after his antics against us, but I'm not going to have a pop at him over this move. If someone is offering him £650k (tax free) a week to kick a ball then he isn't going to to turn it down? If that's his market value then he takes it.

What I will say though is that his transfer reflects everything that is wrong with football. This is a team wilfully defying the FFP rules. The fee involved in this transfer is scandalous, and the alleged salary is nothing short of disgusting. Football bores me when this crap happens. It has transcended from sport into a circus.

3.) 02 Aug 2017 14:10:15
They'll make that back through shirt sales, new sponsors, etc. over the course of his contract.

4.) 02 Aug 2017 14:32:42
I hear Messi has re-signed for over half a million a week. Can't help feeling that's greed. Everyone wants enough cash to be secure, but who the hell needs that much? Is he worth 250 times more than a doctor, or 700 times more than a nurse? I don't buy the "it's a free market" argument. Markets are human constructs, and we can choose to make them fair.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 14:42:22
Peter bhoy how can sky and the premier league be at fault for oil money being spent on a player? Sure premier league clubs have started paying inflated fees because of large income but oil money is oil money!

6.) 02 Aug 2017 15:09:30
SoSbhoy: Sky are the ones that started this ball rolling, but now you have to be a billionaire to run a club, remember when the price of crude oil goes up 1p the owners make £500m so they have nothing else to spend it on, so now that the EPL clubs have more money than sense, the oil shieks have decided to splash SOME of their loose change. That's my thoughts anyway.

7.) 02 Aug 2017 15:18:49
650k a week vs KT on 15k? People can talk supply and demand, oil money, media money and any other reasons for this but objectively speaking KTs wage is actually daft enough for playing football. Something will have to give as it's completely potty.

28 Jul 2017 17:55:18
Chris Sutton made good point today about difficulty of recruiting a third striker of decent calibre. Hadn't considered it but is a bit of a task unless we get someone good enough to challenge Moose and LG-and keeping 3 strikers happy. Besides Aitchison needs to come through now I think. Ajer played up front for a while back home but bit of an ask to reply on him. Hayes and Sinclair seem only other options.

1.) 28 Jul 2017 19:01:32
A real good quality forward who can play through the middle or out wide would do nicely, with everyone fit he would take Forest's place, cover for strikers or Rogic if he gets injured. I know easier said than done but one quality signing like that would sort a few things.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 20:03:03
Davie, the over reaction to Wednesdays result has been ridiculous, we are a massive club world wide but are incapable of signing players just to sit on the bench or to do TV interviews.

At this time of year we are at a disadvantage on many levels, traditionally we need to wait till later in the transfer window for bargains to surface which rules out qualifiers, we seem to draw teams well into their season, which is a great leveller and even the fans at home games are never the same at this time of year, holidays etc.

Until Uefa do the right thing and start to once again prioritise Champions in their Champions cup, we will just have to do our best to compete.
And incidentally I still think we will turn them over next week, we will be a week fitter, that should be enough!

I've seen 30k a week quoted, would probably have to take a drop on that but like everyone is saying, worth a punt.

If we have those 2 competing for no 10 spot and then bring in a centre half and retain our core team, I'd be proper chuffed. Add Paddy to that and I'm putting money on us winning the CL 😂😂😂.

Just wanted to echo the sensible, KT is going nowhere. Stop listening to the wishful thinking of the Loyal and start celebrating how much it must be hurting them. We have a homegrown player with potential to become truly world class AND he's a Tim through and through! I reckon that keeps some of them up at night.

While most Celtic fans loved him, I don't think Paul Lambert gets enough recognition beyond our club. He was immense for us.

Reckon he should be punted, even with short amount left on contract, the club should still run a pretty tidy profit on him. Shame as I reckon a new deal at Celtic and a couple of Euro campaigns would do his cause for a move to Europe a lot more good than the potential relegation battle/ promotion bid he could well end up with.
