Celtic haven't beaten Rangers in a Scottish Cup semi since 1925? Good job we're not playing them then! There can be no hoodoo beyond the memory of last year and imo, the team that played RIFC last year no longer exists either. Our team this year needs to play out their socks and put the match to bed before any honest mistakes can have any bearing on the matter.

We are preparing for CL qualification and if we can't beat this bunch of mugs then we're in trouble. Need to make it the game of the season, really hoping we hit them a dillion. Full gutty!

1.) 20 Apr 2017 14:09:29
As long as we start Boyata, Roberts and Rogic we will be good, need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

{Ed007's Note - We played our best football when we played 4-2-3-1 earlier in the season and with Rogic back I don't see any reason why Rodgers won't revert to that so fingers crossed but I think you'll be disappointed come Sunday when Forrest will more than likely start.
Hopefully the players are fired up for this, if we turn up and play the way we know we can we will destroy them.
My team for Sunday would be:

But I think Rodgers will go with Forrest starting on the right and I don't even want to consider that he'll go with a 4-3-3.}

2.) 20 Apr 2017 17:19:52
Ed was lustig not injured or was he just rested.

{Ed007's Note - He missed training on Friday and as far as I know it was just a precaution that he didn't play at the weekend so I'm hoping he's fit for Sunday, Steph.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 17:47:50
Yeah Ed that's the team I thought would start I was just hoping Roberts would get a start although it will be good to have him come on fresh for the last 30 minutes.

{Ed007's Note - If we can settle down and get our passing game flowing we'll have the chasing shadows tiring themselves out as the game goes on - that's the time to unleash Paddy and Griffiths.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 19:21:55
ed i like that team. was a big boyata critic but erik doesn't fill nme with confidence these days whereas boyata seems to have come on toa game. tho id happily play the developments squad let's get real bhoys this is the worst hun team in my lietime (40 now : ( ) as the song gows . get intae them.

{Ed007's Note - Sviatchenko has lost his good form, over the last couple months he's looked nervous and slow to react at times. It's as if he's carrying a knock but I've not heard or seen anything about that and there's no reason to play him if he is with the squad we have.}

5.) 20 Apr 2017 19:50:55
Ed I'm with u on that lineup, but like u have a feeling Forrest will start.
Would prefer Roberts starting n i would rather get a great 60 minutes out of him at least than only 20 odd minutes to 30 at the end.
Players like him rogic n Sinclair always have that final ball, that beating of a man n goals in them and again for me wee james just isn't on a par with any of them.
Yes he has had a better season but too inconsistent n doesn't score n create enough regularly n how many games does he win us, Sinclair, dembele, rogic n Roberts all have that in their locker to turn a game or win us game n if Roberts doesn't sign permanently it's a position, along with goalkeeper that must be addressed.
Bring on the sevco anyway, always good to put the new club in their place.
Here we go 10 n a row.

{Ed007's Note - When people say Forrest has improved I just don't see it as he's still the same inconsistent player who struggles with his decision making. The only thing that's really improved is his his injury record and that will probably be down to him actually doing what the Club tell him for a change. He's a good SPFL player but beyond that he's nowhere near good enough.}

6.) 21 Apr 2017 07:36:21
Like that team ed but he'll prob go with forrest he maybe tracks back a bit better than paddy but paddy coming on for 30 mins is the ladt thkng sevco want to see.

7.) 21 Apr 2017 13:18:35
I think BR sees roberts as a impact sub tbh, so can see forrest starting, but like fellow posters would prefer to see roberts in from the start, if rogic is fit its got to be 4231.

8.) 21 Apr 2017 13:28:31
My only issue with your team Ed is that Lustig struggled with McKay's pace at Ibrox and ended up getting booked quite early and with Roberts not the most willing to track back, it could pose a problem when they attack.

{Ed007's Note - Lustig wasn't booked until the 65th minute but hopefully on Sunday Forrest will do his job and track back to help his fullback for a change.}

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:24:03
Sorry Ed, maybe not that early but I can remember them taking heart from it and him struggling as he couldn't put the foot in after that. Forrest offers very little defensively but it's still probably more than Roberts. Attacking there's only one winner. Regardless we should have enough to do a job on them. Moussa needs a performance.

{Ed007's Note - The whole team owes us a performance after some of the recent lacklustre showings. I'm hoping Rogic coming back will give us a huge boost in the final third and with Sinclair consistently performing well even though he looks a bit jaded at times there should be plenty of chances for Dembele to put them to the sword.}

10.) 21 Apr 2017 21:55:59
Time for return to form, Roberts and Moose starting is a must but we'll see. One thing for sure, don't want Bitton anywhere near the pitch.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 01:20:47
I'll second that davie. With rogic and dembele fit a bit further up to hold the ball it let's Armstrong and brown do a bit more defensive work if needed. The back four that starts I want to see finish the game.

12.) 21 Apr 2017 23:28:19
I agree ed regards lustig and i don't get where Forrest is better at tracking back then Roberts, i think its the other way round n in going forward lustig n Roberts work better together for me anyway.
It's the 1 thing that puzzles me with Brendan in picking Forrest over Roberts, i just don't get it and most folk u speak to me would pick Roberts every time.
I back every player in a Celtic jersey but if we are to progress in Europe as well as dominate domestically we need to be strong in all positions, and Gordon n Forrest r the 2 i feel we need better quality. Roberts or a. n. other in a top keeper who actually instills confidence n pulls off the big saves at that higher level.
3 1 Celtic i reckon on Sunday, sevco goal no doubt an obligatory penalty by whichever mason is taking charge of his favourite new teams game.
Here we go 10 in a row.

13.) 22 Apr 2017 14:19:15
Roberts everyday for me, I do think there has been an improvement with JF but PR is streets ahead of him. Brown and Armstrong sitting deep MF tomorrow could end up running the show. Hoping for a great improvement on last few games.

01 Apr 2017 20:58:02
Any truth in MD and LG both being out of tommorow's game?

19 Mar 2017 19:34:17
Been reading a fair bit of stick for Kouassi, bit unfair imo. Lers judge him after he's had a bit of a run. Starting a game or even a few might be a fairer test for him than a couple of sub appearances. Will admit he looked shaky today though.

1.) 19 Mar 2017 19:54:20
I know what you're saying Davie but the thing that worried me was his body language and lack of intensity rather than his poor passing etc. He's has plenty of time to get up to the intensity and fitness levels but didn't look like he was caring. Plenty of time on his side though to be fair.

21 Feb 2017 18:28:52
Proposed plans for Parkhead look pretty impressive would imagine that it would take a pretty hefty outlay but would also be likely to be a ridiculous earner too. Will be very interested to see how this pans out.

1.) 22 Feb 2017 22:06:54
The Hotel will priced out to some big hotel chain it's far to big an opportunity for the coperate hotels to miss and Celtic get the hotel built for next to nothing they will still invest millions into the whole package and it's a no brainier for the hotel chains
Great times ahead and not some Murray pie in the sky 🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪🍀.

30 Jan 2017 17:38:38
Tierney bid surely just paper talk? An insult to the club, Moyes is a clown. KT will most likely be in CL group with us this year while Sunderland are pretty safe bet to be battered down to English Championship, even if he was not Celtic through and through, this would be a no brainer.

Got to say that I'd take 4 million for CG in a heartbeat, only trouble being a replacement. Perhaps a bit of a gamble but if we were to get Krul, I'd be well chuffed with that. All in all hoping for a quiet night tomorrow but would love to see Onyekuru in and the Usual suspects out (Efe, Ciftci, Commons in particular).

Read a couple of these 'reports' that say Dembele is set to leave in the Summer. Not one quote or attributable source, pathetic.

1.) 04 Mar 2017 13:01:24
Wishful thinking from the SS (Sevco Scribes) . Their club died in 2012 - but the bitter stench remains.

22 Feb 2017 22:14:18
Dembele's agent making very positive noises just now. Having him here for the Champion's League next year will be amazing. Having him beyond that is invaluable. Cannot wait to see how this current team evolves.

15 Feb 2017 15:01:39
Amazing buzz about the club just now, may be overly optimistic but I would be pretty confident going into the CL qualifiers with the squad we have at the moment. Caveat for that being that the loss of Roberts looks likely and he may need replacing (would see keeping him as a major coup as would the signing of Onyekuru).

Big variable will be how LG returns as he has never really convinced in Europe. If a classy fwd can be signed and like others have said, competition/ cover for Rogic, I would be happy enough.

Lustig's current form is delightful and CG's performances have been a lot steadier, really hope De Boer's imminent arrival at the Poundland Arena doesn't take the shine off all of this.

1.) 15 Feb 2017 15:12:53
Agree completely. We qualified this year with a lot of the players nowhere near the form they are in at the minute.

2.) 15 Feb 2017 16:04:57
The biggest problem we will always face is important matches being in July which is difficult as you don't have any competitive matches for build up. The form of players this season is irrelevant but hopefully Brendan can start season better with players knowing his method come July.

3.) 15 Feb 2017 20:02:52
I am not so sure, there are so many potential banana skins.

honestly - who thought Happy Bear Shavers would have been so tough.

I know we are a different force - but I remember being confident, as I was with legia, Maribor, etc.

4.) 15 Feb 2017 20:11:03
I personally don't think LG is in any way the answer in CL qualifiers or games, we need to keep Dembele and sign someone else if we can. Also need another winger when Roberts leaves, Forrest too hit and miss for me. Only fly in the ointment is if someone dangles £40 mill plus for Moussa, I think most of us would take it. Try and qualify before he goes though and hopefully have someone else lined up but that's a lot of ifs and buts.

5.) 15 Feb 2017 19:15:28
Get what you mean about competitive edge but wouldn't go as far as to say the current form is irrelevant.

6.) 15 Feb 2017 21:13:32
Ihow about jamie walker?,

7.) 15 Feb 2017 21:54:38
Agree with you Jim the July games are a nightmare to prepare for and we never look convincing performance wise. In our defence a lot of the teams don't and the ones that do there seasons are already up and running for a couple months.

That's why I'm not overly bothered about this unbeaten season carry on.
Coming into next season it could be a hinderance as we have to loss eventually and a domestic game would be easier to take than a qualifier.

8.) 15 Feb 2017 22:48:36
Why do you not think LG is not the answer for CL games croybhoy? He scored against mamlo, he scored home and away in this years qualifiers and bot had the chance to prove himself in the group stages. Think your being a bit unfair on the lad.

9.) 15 Feb 2017 20:36:48
Croybhoy that be the LG that scored in every round of the CL qualifiers? I would like to see a 3rd striker with a good pedigree come in to add competition upfront but I'm in no doubt wee griff would bang in the goals in any qualifier if he was in the team.

10.) 16 Feb 2017 07:03:35
Lads nothing would please me more than the wee man proving me wrong, I just think Rodgers is seeing something he doesn't like, something we're not privy to, with his recent comments about lifestyle. LG is a cracking finisher when his confidence is up and he's number 1, but he's not the main man in that squad now, other players have stepped in and scored the goals. Obviously his injuries haven't helped him but I don't think BR, at this time, has a lot of confidence in him and Griffiths will feel that.

18 Jan 2017 10:14:23
Looks like we will have another 2 weeks of non-stories. The Portuguese boy seems to be a 2+2=5 and the KT story is obviously getting momentum from the Sevconians at the Redtop back page depts. Like others have said, the great thing is that we seem to be in a position where we can say no to 10 mill deals, KT is as good as majority of full backs I have seen in EPL but with a great shot on him too. Fingers crossed that we get PR for another year's loan as that would be as good as signing him anyway. While there is talk of a need for a RB, I think the only other essential position for now is a Central Defender if we ship Efe. Anything else would be gravy as this current batch of players will only get better after the break and should have more than enough in the locker to smash the CL qualifiers. Put the league to bed, rest the starters as much as possible and allow the likes of GMS, Christie and Ajer more game time. Would love to see the first 11 getting enough league time to tick over and then bring out big guns for every Scottish Cup game. Can't wait for Sunday, tired of poking the other lot with a stick. Seems unfair to take the piss out of them when they do a good enough job of it themselves 😂

1.) 18 Jan 2017 11:43:58
I think the Hogmanay game really shone a light on Lustig's weaknesses when he's up against a winger with pace, which at 30 is no disgrace, especially with the injuries he's had. The club are trying to tie him down to a new deal so maybe he will become a CB with a new RB brought in to challenge Gamboa? I'd be happy enough with that. I'd also like to see a new right winger, or Roberts playing ahead of Forrest.

2.) 18 Jan 2017 19:02:14
2 year deal for lustig.

3.) 18 Jan 2017 19:57:45
I'm very happy to see Lustig get the deal. Loyalty needs rewarding. He's been and still we be a great servant to the club. My only criticism of him this year is that he should have punched the feckn head off that fud Namar 🍀

4.) 18 Jan 2017 20:13:15
i would have gave him the 2 year deal just for his beachball on the head celebration against the huns jfp lol.

5.) 18 Jan 2017 20:40:12
Agreed JB67-I love how people from other lands can become green and white through and through! 😀👍🍀

14 Jan 2017 08:57:37
Taverneir is still saying the gap is closing. I have never pretended to be an expert on football but I thought I knew how a league competition works. Could someone please explain this one to me.

1.) 14 Jan 2017 10:10:28
Read that also Daviebhoy77.he thinks they have definitely closed the gap on us. deluded mate😂😂

2.) 14 Jan 2017 10:32:53
Dead easy, he's a moron bud that's all there is to it

3.) 14 Jan 2017 11:04:47
Seemingly I've been struggling to read league tables for a while too Davie. They might close the gap by getting him out the side though. Can't wait to see Scotty Sinclair tear him another one.

4.) 14 Jan 2017 11:12:26
Tav can't even close the gap on Sinclair never mind Celtic

5.) 14 Jan 2017 11:14:07
Utter tripe, blatant free advertising for their haggis hun fest. I would never ever buy ANY newspaper now. Pure guff written by hasbeen hacks.

6.) 14 Jan 2017 11:20:00
Thanks for clarificating that bhoys ;) For a minute I thought that the SFA may have introduced a "points for getting less skelped top up system". Deluded right enough.

7.) 14 Jan 2017 12:13:11
Maybe he should consider a career in stand up cos this guy's funny as fkuc

8.) 14 Jan 2017 12:13:41
Maybe there's no really a break and the points are getting awarded to other teams because we're no turning up? 🍀

9.) 14 Jan 2017 12:17:17
Same pish different player
Almost like a PR firm is telling them what to say

10.) 14 Jan 2017 12:28:25
Reminds me of the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail 😂

11.) 14 Jan 2017 12:27:15
Morons like this really some up that mob as a so called club! The gap gets closer they could have gave us a doing in the last game, theyre deluded from the boardroom to the pitch! Comments like this just make it all the sweeter at how far on and off the pitch we actually are from this embarrassment of a so called club!

I honestly just wish they would go back to where they belong and that's Scottish footballs lower leagues because I'm sick of the sight of them already! I genuinely thought I was looking forward to playing a team from ibrox, and as much as I enjoy pumping them every time we play it really ain't worth listening to there utter garbage on a daily basis!

Sorry for the rant lads but I'm sick to back teeth of that lot!

12.) 14 Jan 2017 12:58:52
Brilliant Daviebhoy, that's exactly how il see it from now on. "its only a flesh wound. get back here"

13.) 14 Jan 2017 14:16:48
Maybe he is talking about the gap between Celtic in Dubai and Sevco in Germany as that gap is closer than the one in the league

14.) 14 Jan 2017 14:36:16
They scary thing is Sevco, their fans and the journalists who print this propaganda actually believe it 😂😂

15.) 14 Jan 2017 15:30:41
you play for ragers

some medjit sticks a mic under your nose and says "is the gap closing blah blah blah. "

you cannot say (all of the above) no we are pish, I can't mark Sinclair, the gap is huge etc - the knuckledragging lynch mob would be waiting for you.

So you say " " what he said - its all lies

Same as when they ask any of our guys - Treble, Treble, Treble - we say yeah of course we can - but in truth we can have an off day against anyone in the cup.

They (medjits) set them up. They (the players) take the bait - and then the Medjit either say I WAS RIGHT - GENIUS or THAT PLAYER IS A FUD BECAUSE HE SAID.

16.) 14 Jan 2017 16:10:20
Brilliant Daviebhoy, Tis but a scratch lol

17.) 14 Jan 2017 17:07:48
He may have meant, the gap is now close enough, that they can now see us using the Hubble telescope!

Despite not playing much, Roberts looks pretty settled at Parkhead. I'm still doubtful about a permanent deal but wouldn't see it as completely out of the question. Him, Eboue and a Centre Half coming in and a lot of the deadwood going out would be an amazing window's business.
