Edouard should never have been dropped for todays game. Rodgers obviously desperate to give Musonda a start but why change a team that won so well?

Lot of negativity on here but very few praising Killie who I thought were phenomenal! Their workrate was incredible from start to finish and our players never got a minute. Mulumbu Scottish Premiership signing of the season by a mile. His first time through ball late on was immense. If only he was a few years younger!

LM67

1.) 04 Feb 2018 12:42:05
I posted on here when he became a free agent and said Mulumbu would be a cracking signing. Every game I've watched him in this season he's bossed that midfield and pops up everywhere.

2.) 05 Feb 2018 07:58:36
would you want to go face Clarke if you hadn't given 110%?

31 Jan 2018 23:23:01
LEE TOMLIN HAS SIGNED FOR FOREST

Cant have a transfer deadline day without his name cropping up on here!

LM67

1.) 01 Feb 2018 12:56:27
Almost. until you posted.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 18:51:20
lennon tried to sign him for us lol.

30 Aug 2017 19:57:14
French journalist reporting that Odsonne Edouard will be signed on loan with option to buy.

LM67

1.) 30 Aug 2017 20:52:45
Reports saying deals done.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 21:32:57
Read that he won Golden boy and golden boot in 2015 U17 euros. Also 60 goals in 2 seasons for reserves or youth league? Not a bad deal for us at all plenty of potential.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 03:01:43
great shot on him ahem cough cough!

4.) 31 Aug 2017 04:38:16
One goal in 17 game's while on loan at Toulouse.

30 Aug 2017 19:39:57
Stefano Denswill being mentioned as a possible signing.

1.) 30 Aug 2017 19:52:41
by a guy who knows a guy in twitter?

2.) 30 Aug 2017 20:00:30
Wouldn't mind that looks decent and would suit how we play but can't see that one happening.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 20:20:57
Pretty much, but he fits the bill of what we are looking for and only has a year left on his deal. Its possible.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 20:26:44
Maybe money + player (Erik) bravetart?

5.) 30 Aug 2017 21:34:16
Hope so guys, him and Jozo in defence 👌.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 23:37:07
Only 24 hours to go lads. Keep it real for the final push. :)

I have a feeling if we get a CB, then it might be nobody anyone has guessed yet.

The odds will be terrific, as I think at least 3,000 players are on the Guess List.

7.) 31 Aug 2017 01:01:16
Google will be on over drive until Friday with frantic player searches. This one included.

8.) 31 Aug 2017 11:04:14
Going to Brighton apparently. NEXT!

9.) 31 Aug 2017 12:44:35
Zero ambition they will be relegated this season no doubt about that.

29 Aug 2017 09:44:17
Anyone got any info on why BR was in Paris on Thursday? Lots of rumours about who he was their meeting. Someone who I think would fit the bill of what we are looking for is Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. Had some poor seasons at club level since leaving Ajax but has 22 goals in 44 games for Iceland and was great at the Euros last year. Currently at Nantes but doesn't look like he has a future there. Hard worker so fits our style.

LM67

1.) 29 Aug 2017 12:43:46
Wouldn't mind him and Duverne and move a few along on loans like Benyu, Ajer, Nesbitt, Aitchison, Sviatchenko and Gamboa.

2.) 29 Aug 2017 13:53:56
Gamboa is in Costa Rica with a national squad so looks like he's staying.

Some fans are never happy. General consensus before the window opened was that we needed:

1. A creative midfielder
2. An experienced centre half
3. Keep hold of Moussa

All 3 have been achieved plus we’ve signed 2 young Scottish talents and acted quickly to get a goalkeeper so not to leave ourselves short.

Probably the most signings we’ve ever made in January which is a notoriously tough window.

Not to mention we have a trophy in the bag, 14 points clear, still in the Scottish cup and European football after xmas!

LM67

1.) 31 Jan 2018 19:27:32
Just like some are happy with not progressing

If we all shared the same opinions the world would be a boring place

All I want is to win and win in style with a Lubo or 2 in the squad.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 19:53:12
Well you should be happy for the remainder of the season with these Bhoys in attack.

Roberts, Rogic, Sinclair, Forrest, Musonda, Griffiths, Dembele, Edouard and Ntcham.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 20:15:40
we Have came out the window stronger than we went in, plenty of competition in the squad. No bad for a January window. Expected a few more to leave. Nothing to complain about!

4.) 31 Jan 2018 21:07:14
I still think we shoukd have bought a class right back. A keeper is a must too for me, as I'm not convinced by Dorus or Gordon and these positions are vital for Europe.

Last night saw Kouassi, Ajer, Eduoard, step forward as the real deal. That's like three signings for me.

Musonda is just a brilliant addition and he can help us step up. We have wee Paddy and Rogic coming back and they both have to respond to the challenge to get back into the team. Armstrong too will be another class player when needed.

Moussa will return to devastating form and Sincybwill also up his game.

All is great mid to front, only the keeper and the RB concern me as necessary to really move forward.

Right now if we push on from last night the way I believe we can, I believe we have a chance of doing in the Russians.

Two weeks ago I never thought we had a chance. Now I think we can do them.

26 Jan 2018 08:10:23
Starting to think these last few days of the window could be massive for us, not really in terms of keeping our best players, more so keeping our manager beyond the end of the season. BR quoted as saying “we must” sign players before the end of the window. If we don’t I can see him walking at the end of the season. Must be hard enough as it is for him looking down south and seeing teams like Brighton and Southampton throw £15-20m a time at players, without us then spending even a fraction of that on players he obviously thinks we need.

LM67

1.) 26 Jan 2018 09:08:24
If he walks through being jealous of the money down south, then good luck to him on the managerial merry go round that is English football . Will be out on his arse in a few months .
Brendan will have known the markets, money and budgets he would have at his disposal before he took the job . Thanks for the memories, but no man is bigger than the club, just like o'neil before him .

2.) 26 Jan 2018 09:26:08
Do you not think Brendan spoke about the need to be supported and was given assurances before he said yes? He is only in his early 40's and in order for him to move to clubs in better leagues requires he succeeds in the CL.

By succeeding, I mean qualifying and putting up a fight for 3rd and avoiding humiliating defeats. If he doesn't do that then no big club will entertain him on the basis of winning trebles up here.

Rogers is using Celtic much like any player as a launch pad back to richer pickings. He being one of us wants to make us as good as he can before moving on. If the board act like successive boards and don't strengthen when in front, then he certainly will be off and the board will have a fan revolt on their hands. And quite rightly.

The thing that keeps me saneish, is I know he would have been assured that if he managed to secure CL money then he would be backed. He has done this and got out of the group. There is no wAy we are good to go with just one good player, a no 10.

Our defence is a shambles if inconsistency and mistake making. They have been found out both at home and particularly in Europe. We need to improve and we simply don't have the class currently, either on the bench it coming through.

If the board don't back him, we fail. All the talk of becoming a CL team is seen to be another dose of bullshit from the board. Rogers own self interest should force him to demand, not ask, but demand that they money he has enabled us to be brought in is invested in players.

We are one of the top supported clubs in the world, we spend on merchandise and there is a waiting just for season tickets. Does anyone think that situation will continue if the board don't turn their ambitious words I to action?

Me neither.

They owe it to the fans to support Rogers. They owe it to Rogers for securing the near £70m we have earned in the CL. Rangers are improving, what do we do, let them shorten the gap by doing feck all?

I have never been a fan if the level if ambition of our board. I was sickened after returning from Seville and reading in the view from Quinn that they would support MON and did feck all.

I truly believe they wi support him because if they don't they are putting a loaded gun in their own mouths as they will show themselves to be incapable of leading our great club.

The signings, more than a no 10 are required right now. I believe we will do it. The oriskect if Rogers leaving becomes a cert if they don't. There will be no waiting list fir a season book. There will be no CL money and we will be back to a level playing field with the Sevconians.

If they allow that they will deserve all the fury that will come their way.

They won't though. Not this time.

Probably :)

3.) 26 Jan 2018 09:31:41
He needs to be given some if the CL money he has brought. Not the mega bucks but enough to improve our team. I believe he would have sought and received those assurances. We will buy players we need to improve.

We cannot go into the CL qualifies with the defence we have. That's just a matter of fact. They make an already difficult task Herculean.

There cannot be one Celtic fan either in the boardroom, pub, at the games who doesn't know this. It will happen. It had better.

4.) 26 Jan 2018 12:14:28
Defense defense defense, it seems all and sundry are fixated with our defense.
I have a different perspective on this, its not the defense/ players its the organisation of it.
We are a very attacking team no doubt about this and we need to be but I feel this hinders us in Europe, our natural instinct is to attack but the reality of the situation is in the CL 85-90% of the teams are superior to us.
So we need to change tactics for this and if u ask me KT Lustig and Boyata are good at defending, Boyatas problem is on the ball not defending.
Lustig is not good when one on one and exposed but put him in as part of a 4 then he knows what he is doing just look at Sweden.
KT is well? Just KT.
Jozo still needs to convince me.
A perfect example of this is Barca, all great players in defense and buy any one of them would cost a fortune but they are exposed time and again cos the way they play and not properly protected hence concede goals .
How many times have we came up against a stubborn Thistle or Inverness and struggled to score cos they well organised and battling for everything and their defense is protected.
As much as i love BR and trust him to be able to change a game i have yet to see him adopt this kind of approach in Europe and giving the opposition little space to play in and be able to hit on the break.
When we play top class opposition we have to be able to stop them from being comfortable and playing the way they want, give them something to think about and change our game to accomodate this.
I feel we make it too easy for them.

5.) 26 Jan 2018 12:19:46
Thing is, nobody knows what's going on inside Celtic with regards to signings. Who's to say BR does or does not have the full backing of the board? Everything is pure speculation because we are a professional club that discretely goes about our business, not some comedy show using a corrupted media to destabilise other clubs and unsettle players. Do we really believe that BR will be given carte blanche to spend millions on one player at a time? I am desperate to see new signings in some key areas but although disappointing, I know we won't be seeing superstars coming in. Good decent footballers with a proven record will be as good as it gets. Our board just won't sanction big deals.

6.) 26 Jan 2018 12:32:15
Rayman, its not just defence defence I agree we do need at least one creative midfielder and if Moussa goes a striker, and while are about it, a goalie to ut pressure on gordon. as three distinct units of the team, the defence is absolutely the biggest weakness. not the only one if we want to progress but the main one.

7.) 26 Jan 2018 14:59:53
MP I understand your worry but for me in Europe its the midfield that's the weakest, the defense is solid domestically.
in Europe the midfield consistently give the ball away under any pressure which time and time again expose the defense.
When u look at it logically we have one of Europes best young left back, a Belgian international, an experienced swedish right back and a young gifted centre back.
In midfield we have scotland captain, young frenchman whilst talented still to prove himself and either Armstrong/ Mcgregor who don't cut it, ok potentially Rogic who not done it yet.
Attack, one of europes best young striker who is not playing or injured and looks to be going anytime soon, scotlands best striker by far and i a big fan of but struggles in europe along with Sinclair and Forrest/ Roberts all of which are inconsistent and although talented have yet to do anything.
So when u break it down defense could be arguably our strongest asset but as i said its not the players its the way we set up that's the problem.
Many many teams defend better with lesser players cos of set up and organisation.

8.) 26 Jan 2018 16:31:46
I agree that we need more creativity in the middle. I think we need both though. A half arsed approach fixing one bit is not the answer and I believe Rogers wants t address both.

02 Jan 2018 15:12:51
A number 10 is the priority for me. We seriously lack any flair when Roberts and Rogic aren’t playing, the latter having had a poor season due to the lack of a rest in the summer cos of the Confed Cup (no rest this summer either due to the WC) .

Like many I don’t like loan deals unless the player is exceptional, but I think Musonda would be incredible up here. 18 month loan deal would be a good move.

Moussa only on the bench for the third ggame in a row. Looks like we are makin sure he doesn't get injured so he can be sold in jan.

31 Aug 2017 21:46:59
So much doom and gloom from people who play too many computer games and think we should be signing players just to say we've spent money. Got to remember that a good transfer window isn't just about who you buy, its about who you keep hold of too.

Moussa
Jozo
KT
Armstrong

All could have left, all staying.

Add to that Roberts back, a very impressive centre mid in Ntcham and a back-up/ competition for MD and LG in Edouard adds up to a very good transfer window.

So we didn't sign a centre half, aw well. You only have to look down south and at Barcelona to see that no matter how much money you have, you don't always get things your own way in the transfer window.

This summers business = 9/10.

LM67

1.) 31 Aug 2017 21:50:41
Fair point LM but we should have addresses the CH issue. Going into the CL with Bitton at CH could be a disaster.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 21:56:15
Exactly mate. Its been a great window for us. A cb would be nice but the right player clearly hasn't been available.

Were in the champions league and kept hold of all our players. Great success.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 22:05:06
Do you not think eric Jozo or boyata would be more suited than our midfield? Surely bitton is only a stand in temp as of right now? Not to mention lustig. Such a nonsense post.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 22:06:05
LM

I agreed with your post but we shouldn't just be thankful about what we have. We need to build from a position of strength.

It is great we kept the boys you mentioned and I am happy with Roberts and Ntcham but on the negative side we are weaker at the back than we were last season when we had Kolo and Emilio in reserve if needed. I also feel Hayes wasn't needed, have you ever heard of a senior player signing and 5 weeks later being linked with a loan out? Benyu? We just have to wait and see with him but he is rough around the edges and won't see much action this season.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 21:40:34
Total agreement NialH, the money's there to give us the best team possible regardless of champions league or not, but year in year out it fails to materialise. It's bull this we held onto players, they are on a contract and while we're successful are more likely to stay if the investment is there and we improve the team to get even better never mind cover areas were short in . If KT is injured and Central defence isn't strengthened will the guys saying we've done enough still be saying that when away to Bayern and PSG never mind the SPL? Biscuit tin mentality still there just there's more biscuits in the tin lol.

Dundee don’t want him and he moved to sit on Hibs bench. Doubt he’ll ever even get on the pitch for us never mind get a permanent contract.

Seems like a Jonny Hayes type signing in that Rodgers has known about him since he was a youngster. Good with the ball at his feet by all accounts.

I think everyone would rather we signed players permanently but the way I look at it is:

1. Could we pay the price Chelsea would want for him? No
2. Is he better than what we have and will improve our team? Yes
3. Could we buy a player of his quality from another team/ league? Probably not

He’s like Roberts. As long as he helps us win games and trophies and improve in Europe then I couldn’t care less if he’s only on loan. 18 months is a good period to get him for too.

I’d love to see us use a bit of imagination in bringing in a keeper from the likely of Italy or Eastern Europe but I can see it being a loan from England. Pedrag Rajkovic from Macabbi Tel Aviv would be my pick.

{Ed007's Note - Sondre Rossbach from Odd in Norway would be my shout.}

The timing might affect who we go for. If this was a week ago and gordon got injured we’d have more time to go after a young keeper who we’d scouted be our longterm no1. Given its happened with only 4 days left I can see the keeper who comes in only being on loan for 6 months to get us by.

Vorm
Ward
Boruc

Potentially one of those coming in?

De Vries has actually been decent when needed this season but surely it would be pointless to sign a back up for your back up keeper? Still think Vorm is no1 target but not sure Spurs would let him go in January.
