Boli Mbombo another left back alternative according to Twitter.

23 Jun 2019 23:17:09
Max Lowe of Derby (on loan at Aberdeen last season) linked as KT replacement. Was always impressed by him last season to be fair, however, would have hoped for a more exciting replacement.

I suppose it’s going to be impossible to sign anyone anywhere near as good as KT.

Lowe is good defensively, could we bring him in as well as a good attacking full back like Melling? And select who plays depending on opposition.

KT was brilliant going forward and defensively - huge shoes to fill.

LM67

1.) 24 Jun 2019 05:55:45
They are big shoes to fill LM. KT is one of the beat young left backs going. But then surely we're already enquiring about other beat young left backs, and will base what we want for KT on the cost of his replacement. Or will we sell him for 20m+ and bring in the dirt cheap option with the shareholders trousering the rest.

2.) 24 Jun 2019 07:12:21
Very underwhelming if we are looking at him to be Tierneys replacement. Hopefully after someone more experienced too as first choice.

3.) 24 Jun 2019 07:42:48
No way can it be acceptable for Lowe to be brought in as a replacement for KT. as a back up to KT then yeah but not to replace him.

4.) 24 Jun 2019 08:48:37
Is Lowe just not for back up for KT? I mean if he doesn't go we still need back up for the left back position, we new we would need back up for KT, even before arsenal and the RAT came sniffing aboot! Stop the panic lads, I think he'll stay! He's Celtic thru and thru!

5.) 24 Jun 2019 09:41:01
Maybe Lowe is being targeted to replace Izzeguire and back up.

6.) 24 Jun 2019 09:46:09
Rumours that Boli Mbombo is being looked at as a possible transfer. 23 year old left back that plays with Rapid Vienna, don't know anything about him apart from he had played over 90 senior level games.

7.) 24 Jun 2019 10:40:58
Lowe was probably one of the best players out with our club in the league last season. Mbombo would be a good addition also. I expect tierney to leave.

8.) 24 Jun 2019 12:03:03
Boli Mbombo is a very physical LB like KT and I'd be pretty happy to see him come in as rumoured yesterday.

9.) 24 Jun 2019 12:32:30
Replacing KT with Lowe would be akin to giving up your Bentley for an all day ticket on the feckin bus. If Lawell thinks we will accept that he can go feck himself. In fact, if he doesn’t tool up for the CL he can pack his bags right now.

10.) 24 Jun 2019 12:43:16
Rather than knocking back the latest offer. Why not say, not for sale. The only reason they aren’t indicates it’s KT who wants to go. He holds all the aces, it cannot happen unless he agrees. I’m hoping it’s all bollocks, but without him saying anything, it’s seeming more likely he’s had enough of living the dream. Even writing that made me feel sad.

11.) 24 Jun 2019 15:42:51
Hopefully it's to replace Izzy rather than Tierney 🙏.

12.) 24 Jun 2019 16:16:14
The fact Arsenal are bidding shows they’ve received encouragement to pursue a deal from KT and his agent.

13.) 24 Jun 2019 16:19:40
Bhoys we all new this day would come we just didn't want it to happen for me he should go and test himself in a so called better league us as celtic fans can’t deny him that
Deep down we all know this is a poor league but we have to play what’s in front of us . I will be gutted to see him leave but if we get £20 mill plus and spend it wisely it would be good for the club . He will always be celtic through and through.

22 Jun 2019 23:07:34
£5m bid rejected for McKenna apparently.

Also supposed to be chasing Jose Cifuentes.

LM67

1.) 22 Jun 2019 23:49:17
Apparently they want £10 million! 😂😂😂.

2.) 22 Jun 2019 23:53:35
Oh aye but we are badly needing CD can versed only have Ajer Jozo and Hendry there.

3.) 22 Jun 2019 23:53:45
5 milllion quid for McKenna is madness! Don’t rate the guy at all and hope we don’t go back!

4.) 23 Jun 2019 00:12:24
Yeah The Sheep want.

£10m--------- YES £10 Million for him------.

5.) 23 Jun 2019 07:09:49
That’s two managers in a row that’s rated him. I think he’s a really good player but Aberdeen are asking for way to much money in my eyes.

6.) 23 Jun 2019 07:40:51
Absolutely no way should we even be offering £5 million for McKenna. £10 million? They’re havin a laugh ain’t they 😂😂.

7.) 23 Jun 2019 07:41:49
The world's gone mad 3 mill and am pushing it he's average at best.

8.) 23 Jun 2019 07:59:13
Man city apparently fancy the boy god how many wknderkids do they want gie someday else a chance.

9.) 23 Jun 2019 09:04:58
The sheep can get tae feck! I wish the McKenna rumours would get tae feck also, he's no where near good enough for the hoops, why could the board no see what the majority of celtic supporters see, he is pish and for 5million, c'mon! Stinkig!

10.) 23 Jun 2019 09:10:11
Well we tried, we move on. Please leave it at that. Surely isn't any of us that feel that's the player for us.

11.) 23 Jun 2019 09:25:25
Here's a thought, can you imagine McKenna in our defence if we make it through to the CL group stages, total catastrophe and a total EMBARRASSMENT! And it doesn't matter who the opposition will be, he isn't good enough for us domestically and it's a daunting thought, him playing in the Champions league, especially for us, I've seen milk turn quicker!

12.) 23 Jun 2019 09:56:59
If we are interested in Cifuentes surely that'll spell and end for Bitton, Mulumbu, Benyu and possibly Kouassi too? Please God no McKenna is horrendous will be raging if we spend £10m on him would rather have Porteous over McKenna and he'll cost much less with Hendry a possibly makeweight.

13.) 23 Jun 2019 12:16:31
Can see us paying £6m for McKenna as a knee jerk reaction to Tierney leaving for £20m. Helps us out at CB but then we will need LB and RB.

20 Jun 2019 17:30:52
Linked with a move for Peter Ankersen, Copenhagen right back. Danish international.

LM67

1.) 20 Jun 2019 18:03:17
That would be a good calibre of signing. Danish national team are in the Top 10 right now.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 18:45:56
Only one year left on his current contract as well which is good.

3.) 20 Jun 2019 19:22:34
He is 28 Need a younger option?

4.) 20 Jun 2019 19:36:00
Peter he could have 4 or 5 good years.

5.) 20 Jun 2019 19:40:24
Peter that could be a good thing mate in his prime plenty of experience specially for Europe.

6.) 20 Jun 2019 19:41:53
We buy enough young players and projects. Need to get in some experienced players who can go straight into the first 11.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 19:48:50
A player of that age and a younger one to compete with Ralston would be good.

8.) 20 Jun 2019 19:51:15
He’s experienced. 28 years old. Played over 50 games in European competitions. Is the No1 right back for Denmark and play on both flanks. Way too god for the danish league according to a lot of there fans. He wanted a move away last summer but never got it. This is the type of player we should be after. No brainer here and would command a small fee for the quality of player.

9.) 20 Jun 2019 19:57:38
Like the sound of this. (too good to be true? )

10.) 20 Jun 2019 20:02:51
Would be great to get a guy in his prime like that. Fingers crossed it happens.

11.) 20 Jun 2019 20:52:14
peterBoy no chance do we need someone younger, there's only about 6 months between him and Forrest and look at how much Forrest has improved over the past couple of seasons. Late twenties should be a player's prime and we should be going for guys with experience any chance we get.

12.) 20 Jun 2019 20:57:11
Seen this guy during the international games last week and thought he would be a great fit for Celtic. Hope this one is true.

13.) 20 Jun 2019 21:45:08
Fair enough guys, just a thought about his age.

14.) 20 Jun 2019 22:48:29
I think this is ideal replacement for lustig. We have a load of young players need wee bit more experience, especially at the back. Hope this goes through also it now looks like we will be getting turnbul . He has apparently said celtic is his best option for his career.

15.) 20 Jun 2019 22:50:23
We have just signed David Turnbull.

Very strange scenario.

16.) 20 Jun 2019 23:18:07
Caps off to you Dafabet.

17.) 20 Jun 2019 23:50:28
Peter Larsson was 27 when we signed him.

18.) 21 Jun 2019 00:23:04
Takatomi will never be good enough to hold down our RB. He cannot pass a ball ten yards, gets caught out of position and lacks concentration. A shame but he’s just nowhere near good enough. His last game when wee Dembelle played he was atrocious.

19 Jun 2019 21:20:14
Mika confirms he’s away. Terrific free transfer and loyal servant. All the best PC Lustig.

LM67

1.) 19 Jun 2019 21:31:03
Sad to see him depart, but he did so as a fan and will come back a legend for the 10. Anyone else in Glasgow nabbing a copper's lid wouldn't live to tell the tale. Viva Mika.

2.) 19 Jun 2019 21:39:54
All the best to the big man
Big shoes to fill.

3.) 19 Jun 2019 21:59:37
Sad to see Lustig go he is a great player and a great servant to the cause.

He will still offer a lot at his next club.

See you for the 10 in a row party my friend 💚.

4.) 19 Jun 2019 22:57:56
Perfect example of a foreign player coming here and knowing what the club means to the fans! Became a big player on and off the park for us and will be welcome back any time! Think we all knew his time was up over the last 18 months or so but I would still have liked it handled better! Wish him nothing but the best wherever he goes and I’m sure we’ll see him again sooner rather than later supporting the team!

5.) 19 Jun 2019 23:04:48
Well done to lustig what a fantastic servant he was for Celtic. It's the right time for him to go and best of luck to him for the future.

6.) 19 Jun 2019 23:22:31
Ain't it great seeing all these tributes to big Lustig, Halfway through the season he was getting pelters and being castigated for being slow and finished. None as fickle as football fans. Good luck to Mika wherever he goes. I for one am sorry to see him go as I thought he had rediscovered his mojo under Lennon.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 10:23:16
The man has been a wonderful servant to our club, and all the more remarkable that we got him free. He took to Celtic very quickly and our club certainly got under his skin. He's been our lucky charm in many ways as he's known nothing but success, but if he was honest with himself he probably knew his time was coming to a close. However, in my opinion, he merited at least another years contract, and for that experience both on the field and in that dressing room would have been vital over this coming season. I'm also sad that he didn't have the opportunity to say farewell to us. He's been remarkable for us and I wish him and his family nothing but the best. Officer Lustig, we salute you.

A lot of talk on of selling Rogic, and while I agree he was poor last season, I still think he can produce magic that no one else in our team can.

I knew he would have a poor season as he hasn’t had a proper break/ rest (other than when in injured which obviously isn’t the same) since summer 2016! Played for Oz in Confed Cup in 2017 and World Cup last summer.

No surprise either that after that rest in summer 2016 he produced his best season for us, scoring 12 in 36 games.

I wouldn’t write him off just yet. A proper rest this summer will hopefully have done him a lot of good.

LM67

1.) 22 Jun 2019 12:55:52
Lm67 he is a passenger in most games and lives of the odd big goal. He plays in what is meant to be the most creative area in the park and creates very little.

His over all goals and assist stats for his full time at the club are atrocious.

He misses serious amounts of games every season and very rarely finishes 90 minutes.

2.) 22 Jun 2019 16:26:30
As much as rogic has that bit of class to open up team is does it way too little for me. And does go missing in some big games. For me if we did get a good bid for him it one that we need to seriously think about.

20 Jun 2019 22:58:47
Good sign if Lennon’s told Lawwell that he wants to sign him no matter what it takes and he’s went and slapped the offer on the table. Maybe not his pupper after all.

LM67

1.) 21 Jun 2019 00:34:55
Any chance Nicky Hammond might have played a part in this?

2.) 21 Jun 2019 03:53:46
Surely to get he must have relised he would not get game time doon there. Welcome aboard ps hit the ground running or else the knives will be out football fans are fickle early goal and it could be the start of a wonderful friendship .

3.) 21 Jun 2019 07:54:06
Defo buster👍.

4.) 21 Jun 2019 09:17:49
Buster am sure Hammond hasn't started yet. Think it's 1st of July he starts.

5.) 21 Jun 2019 15:41:24
His pupper had me buckled 😂. Feck you ought to see some of the txt I send and don't notice that predictive txt has changed most of the txt. Gaun the pupper!

6.) 22 Jun 2019 03:03:45
Although this talk about young turnbull wanting more money who wouldn't good luck to him. Do the deluded on here think Larsson was on peanuts for the 7 years he was here . welcome to Celtic son now hit the ground running or they'll be after you.

27 May 2019 21:37:02
Lennon was by no means my first choice, far from it. But I think there’s been a major negative over reaction to his appointment.

He was brought in to deliver the treble, and he’s done it. Yes the League was pretty much wrapped up, but the cup wasn’t and the ties we got in that were far from easy.

Obviously the performances haven’t been up to scratch, but I’m hoping with the summer to bring in his own players and have implement his own style we’ll see an improvement. He’s also had it tough injury wise since he came in, and has had next to no use out of KT and Christie, and none out of Griffiths.

Do I wish we’s got someone else? Of course. But I still think we are in capable hands as we head towards the 10.

LM67

1.) 28 May 2019 12:58:03
Didn't he do that at Hibs? They was terrible most games and only picked their game up when playing us or Sevco.

23 May 2019 21:22:46
Moyes is by no means my first choice as our new manager. However, I’m surprised that his potential appointment is being greeted with so much negativity.

I’m in no doubt that the main reason for this is that too many of our supporters are convinced that we actually have a chance of getting Mourinho, Benitez or AVB. Can you really picture any of these guys rocking up to Dingwall on a Wednesday night with a team full of £2-3m summer signings? No chance.

Do I think Moyes would blow us away with free flowing football like in Rodgers’ first season (his final 18-20 months were poor) ? No

Do I think he’d make us more competitive in Europe? Maybe

Do I think he’d lead us to 9 and 10 in a row? Definitely.

Don’t forget this is a man who was handpicked by one of the greatest manager’s ever to manage the biggest team in the world not so long ago.

To think he’d fail in Scotland is laughable.

LM67

1.) 23 May 2019 21:47:07
He was on a hiding to nothing following fergie and in relative terms didn't spend much compared to what van gal and Jose spent he then made 2 bad choices going to Spain and serial failures West ham.

2.) 23 May 2019 22:10:33
I have multiple reasons I don't want him near our great club, here's a few
1) He hasn't done a thing in the game- Managed Preston -mediocrity
Managed Everton -mediocrity
Every job he's had since has been disasterous.
2) He is one of the most boring people to listen to-zero charisma, good managers need to be good talkers.
3) The main reason is he has I believe had the chance to come to us when he was in demand and ruled himself out pretty quickly.

Get him tae f***. Just no no no
ABM- Anyone but Moyes.

3.) 23 May 2019 22:28:45
It has nothing to do with the likes of AVB or jose.
It's to do with the fact he is chronic. He's never achieved a thing and it a plod along manager at best.

I have been quite vocal about not thinking Lennon is the man for job but I'd take him over moyes any day.

4.) 23 May 2019 22:51:05
Not my first choice, was good at Everton but that's it.

In fairness though Man Utd was a sinking ship before he took over. If they were still winning titles, Fergie would still be in charge.

5.) 23 May 2019 22:58:47
Rodgers has never won anything outside of Scotland either though kev.

6.) 23 May 2019 23:11:42
Exactly Kev, I'm not deluded enough to think we are going to get some of the names being mentioned but Davie Moyes! come on we can do better than that. This is a guy who's desperate for a job because nobody wants him. I smelt a rat weeks ago when he turned up at the Kilmarnock game but tried to convince myself he was going to get the Scotland job or he was up to pay his respects to Cesar. As I said earlier once you have turned down the chance to come to our great club you don't get another.

7.) 24 May 2019 06:00:54
The mangers position will be sorted next week one way or the other thank god, then the speculation stops and whoever gets the gig wether it’s Lennon, moyes, Benitez, mourhino, the Pope, we need to get 100% behind them. Next season is massive, everything that’s been won and done for the past 8 years has led us to the brink of 9 in a row. I grew up with the stories of the lions doing it and never in my wildest dreams thought I’d see a Celtic team achieve it and possibly better it. Whoever the next manager is we must give him our full support, pull together as one and build for next season. We’ve a huge job on our hands in terms of players leaving and quality being brought in. The manager ( whoever he may be) needs to fully focus on that, not wasting his time trying to unite the fans who are divided on who got the job and are happy/ unhappy with it. As long as a manager is announced pretty much straight away after Saturdays final and gets to work immediately on signings in key areas with quality I’ll be happy, after all these champions league qualifiers don’t half come around quick style.

8.) 25 May 2019 12:14:07
He never won anything in England but then again neither did Brendan Rodgers.

He's not an exciting name, probably a better manager than he gets credit for but he will be more defensive compared to Rodgers which may be a good thing.

14 May 2019 23:13:30
Interesting that Lennon and Gary Parker were at the west brom game tonight given they don’t have a manager and Parker isn’t part of Lennon’s backroom staff just now.

LM67

1.) 14 May 2019 23:30:59
Hope they were taking Ollie Burke back home.

There should be no negotiation. He’s got 4 years left on his deal and he’s the best talent to come through our academy since McStay. We should set a price and not accept a penny less.

The problem with McKenna is that when you list his qualities - big, strong, good in the air, decent ability on the ball, brave - you would think he had the lot to become a great centre half. That’s why he receives interest and attention.

The problem is, his negatives outweigh the positives - rash, poor decision making, poor positioning.

For £2m? Maybe.

For £8m? No chance.

We’re not actively trying to sell KT to get cash in. But if a team meets our valuation of him and it’s a move he’d like to pursue, we won’t stand in his way. If he goes it won’t be because we are kicking him out the door, it’ll be because he wants to move to further his career. What Robertson’s achieved at Liverpool will certainly have KT thinking that he’d like some of that.

The 10 might be huge to us fans, but players have short careers. He won’t hang around if a club like Arsenal want him and meet our valuation IMO.

Given van Dijk and Wanyama had to go to Southampton before moving on to a bigger club, I’d say its pretty impressive if KT goes straight to Arsenal from us. I’m not sure he could get any better than that. They are a huge club.
