Ola Solbakken?
Rumoured to be close to signing? He ripped us apart when playing for Bodo a few seasons back but not did much at Roma and has just had his loan at Olympiakos cut short.
If he gets his form back from a few years back may be a top class signing.

Now might be a perfect time to get him lined up for the summer if we actually want him.

Is it only two teams a player can play for in a season?, I thought it changed to three. Thought I had seen teams recall a player from a loan they weren’t getting game time at and then send them out again.

He destroyed us a couple of seasons ago, with bodo. We couldn’t get near a few of their players, a worry could be that none have done anything in the following seasons and it could have been a flash in the pan season, or they actually just fitted in well with bodo. Unlike all the other teams in the spfl we give wingers room to hurt us as we are an attacking side, it’s ok having pace but if there is 11 players sitting in front of you, there is nowhere to use the pace. For me we need a jota type winger or in fact jota who can create space by skinning a full back either way.

Maeda has scored an impressive 18 goals this season in 30 games.
He’s an all rounder with 7 right footed goals,6 left footed goals and 5 headers.

The last league game in the Japanese league is on December 4th and that’s good news for Ange and Celtic.
Any players from the J1 league that Celtic sign will get 4 weeks rest and then they can train with their new team mates before playing their first league match for Celtic at Tynecastle on January 26th.
It’s perfect for the second half of the season.

He would be great for us in a defensive capacity too as he chases back for everything like Kyogo does.

I read that Maeda has had 9 of the 10 most sprints in a game in the J1 this season.
The only other player to get into the top 10 was Kyogo.
Maeda must run about all day, a big difference to watching Ajeti.

Supposedly the Howe Deal was dead weeks ago and Celtic is now in advanced talks with Lucian Favre who in my opinion is a far more superior candidate for the role. I understand fans anger but if you look into Favre (hopefully true) you will see how good the guy is. I'm actually surprised we can get him to Scotland but if it's true I'd be over the moon. HH.

Favre would do for me just a mess all around though IF the deal for Howe is dead. And IF it's because he couldn't assemble his back room team then that should have been sought long ago make sure everything and everyone was in place. Total disaster from a club and board point of view. Another reason a lot of that board should move over because it looks like they don't have a clue. As for Howe I am disappointed in him he could have and should have sounded out the people he wanted for his back room staff. Before stringing Celtic along.

My gut feeling is a plan is in place with regards to DOF and manager. I don't think the manager will be Howe though.
I just meant if nothing is in place or goalposts had been moved I'd be quite happy with Mourinho if it worked for both parties. Its pie in the sky stuff like Rafa but if you don't ask you don't get.

Is it possible that The Chief Executive is going to appoint the DOF and that between them they will select the manager?
Managerial candidates will obviously been interviewed just like Welsh has had an extended contract without a manager.
It might be that Howe was interviewed, is interested but advised that the decision will be made in due course by DOF and Chief Executive as that’s part of their remit surely.

Morning Everyone!
A massive night of football is ahead for me with Atalanta playing VS Marseille in the Semi-Final of the Europa League! A 1-1 draw away in France was an excellent result to take back home to Bergamo.
Hopefully, most of the site will cheer them on tonight in what would be an amazing achievement for a club of Atalanta's size to reach the final of a European competition.
The biggest week of football in many a year for me personally with this game tonight and them on Saturday.

Lewis Ferguson was voted midfielder of the year in Serie A this season by his fellow professionals! Some achievement for the young man! Previous award winners are players such as Danielle De Rossi, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, and Sandro Tonali. I'm happy for the young Scot and hopefully he makes a full recovery from a very bad injury.

He seemed to be happy to sign for whatever Celtic was paying when he signed in Aug 21. Yet was desperate to leave before end of 22. I think he can’t have been happy with the amount of game time he was getting, which would reflect his wages.

The Brothers in the VAR truck are desperate to help them, the two and a half minute delay after about 2 mins of the game was a total joke for Dickenson to then have a look and say its no pen.
Expect the exact same things next week, we will need to make sure that we don't give then any reason at all to get VAR involved.
I hope Brendan has AJ, Scales and Taylor training all week to make no contact interseptions as Silva, Barbie and Dessers will go down any time the wind blows and we need to make sure that we don't get any early yellow cards as that in itself could put us on the back foot

Jonbhoy, one of our difficulties this season, more than any other has been our midfielders and defenders not tackling our opponents as BR has been warning them that if they even think of getting too close to an opponent it will be a foul and probably a card . If the ref isn’t man enough to give a crazy decision on his own, the VAR Official will help him out.

Ange is losing his cool down in the Mickey Mouse League. Looks like Villa will now get 4th with Tottenham missing out on Champions League Football. Ange has a problem tho, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, and Villa sitting above them, No chance Newcastle, Man Utd, and Chelsea will have another season like they've had. I think he will be gone by the end of next season.
Also a Belgian and a Greek club in the semi-finals of European competition, take note Celtic! We probs have a bigger budget than both Club Brugge and Olympiakos!

Ange accepts that players make mistakes but he does not accept playing the ball back.
Not sure I would say he is losing it, he is just letting the players know that he will not accept them not following his instructions.

Surely weejoe, the time to correct the players playing the ball backwards is on the training pitch or in the dressing room before the match . Showing your temper during the match like Ange did last night, is just showing “a bit of look at me, what I have to put up with and publicly blaming players. ”He did very well at Celtic holding back on tantrums and coaching and guiding his players to success . That’s Ange’s strength, , I hope he doesn’t destroy his reputation by coming across as an angry old man.

His tactical style and philosophy gave me and others a lot of enjoyment while he was at Celtic and I think our supporters have always craved attacking football with flair and players on the front-foot. Although I'm not that interested in what's happening at Tottenham, I would really prefer us to be less side to side and back like I have seen in too many games this season, considering we still have the nucleus of last season's squad. Maybe there's still time?

I think Ange has maybe underestimated the difficulty in managing players on the money these guys are and the fees they think they're worth and the drama it can cause. He had a great start but Villa have been ordinary this last half of the season as well but they can grind out results and get points on the board, for Spurs it seems a bit more hit and miss whether the game pans out the way they want. I don't see them taking control as much as we know Ange wants.
When people play for us, they play for the badge, the fans, we have an identity as a club and how we want to play. We have a team, a squad of winners who know how to do it. Spurs don't have anyone really who you can say is as passionate about spurs as say calmac, JF, Ralston, Hart are about playing for Celtic, with the closest being Son.

Why would we sign a proven Scottish Internationalist at a very good age for free when we could sign an unknown from another country for 3/ 4mill and hope for the best? This is Celtic we are talking about.
In the past, we have signed players like Steven Pressley and Gary Caldwell and while they were certainly no world beaters they were solid and gave 7/ 10+ every game they played.
Celtic's transfer policy in recent times is terrible, they get lucky with the odd gem (jota, van Dijk) but you need to look at some of the players we currently have in the club to realise how bad it has been in recent years.
Kwon, Kobayashi, and Ideguchi to name a few are some of the worst players I've seen in a Celtic jersey. Thankfully it looks like all 3 will be off the book by the end of the month.

If Joe Hart is our no1 for the season we are in serious trouble. Again I’ll reiterate, Nothing against Joe Hart as a person as he seems a decent guy. But as a GK he is nowhere near good enough to be Celtic number 1.
