Former Celtic player Landry Nguemo has tragically died in a motor vehicle accident at only 38 years old.

He played at Celtic for one season under Mowbray and Lennon in the 2009/ 10 season.

RIP Nguemo.

{Ed007's Note - Such as shame Buzz. ???

1.) 27 Jun 2024 18:37:16
Rip so sad.

2.) 28 Jun 2024 16:53:24
Tragic news, far too young, RIP Landry.

I was getting excited about the prospect of Kris Ajer returning to Celtic until I seen it was coming from Frank McAvennie.

I loved Frank as a player but he doesn't half talk nonsense.

Buzz Bomb 10

Only 6 months ago,
Kris Ajer signed a new improved contract with Brentford until 2028.

Macca strikes again.

2.) 24 May 2024 19:37:10
I wouldn't want him back after he ducked out of what resulted in a goal for Rangers during the COVID season.

3.) 25 May 2024 11:15:39
Ajer put his body on the line plenty of times for Celtic and then I loved how he would celebrate that block like a goal.

4.) 25 May 2024 11:42:09
Feck me that was 4 years ago there's been a lot of water under the bridge since then. he'd come back a better player for sure but it won't happen.

5.) 25 May 2024 11:45:47
'Where's the burds'?

? ? ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

6.) 26 May 2024 08:42:45
I’d have Ajer back in a heartbeat if the price is right. He has definitely improved and never looked out of his depth in the English Premiership.

I seen a rumour about Nottingham Forest V Celtic Friendly on Saturday July 6th.

I can't see that date being correct because it's too early for both clubs.

Buzz Bomb 10

{Ed007's Note - Buzz, there was a post sent in the other day saying Celtic were playing Forest in a charity/memorial match for 3 names of people who when I looked them up had been murdered. It was from an account that had never posted before so I assumed it was some kind of sick troll and deleted it.

Both Adam Montgomery and Joey Dawson have both signed one year contract extensions.

Both players have been out recently with long term injuries.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 09 May 2024 22:54:36
Great news that both have signed new contracts.
Its funny that only yesterday there were numerous reports stating that we were letting Montgomery leave and that he isn't in Brendans plans, you would think there was a big game coming up. oh wait!

2.) 10 May 2024 00:44:30
I liked what I saw about Joey Dawson . I would like him not to go out on loan this season and fight for a role coming on regularly in last 15 / 20 mins . Maybe we could find we had a player .
Montgomery is a very good wee footballer, but his problem could be he is a bit too wee, and our team is already wee.

3.) 10 May 2024 07:56:49
Montgomery couldn't get a game for Fleetwood don't think he will make the grade with us but would be happy to be proven wrong.

4.) 10 May 2024 08:34:36
Did we not tell Robertson that he was to wee and see the career the boy has had.

5.) 10 May 2024 20:45:07
Robertson getting rejected by Celtic was probably the catalyst that changed him and caused him to work much harder and become a professional footballer of some renown.

I read that today,
Maeda missed training,
Calmac played half the training session.
But Palma played a Full Training Session.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 12 Apr 2024 11:36:15
Just saw the footage of training no mention of any injuries calmac trying with the group as was palma.

2.) 12 Apr 2024 12:18:06
I'd like to see Palma in the last few games. He started off strongly then hit some poor form but hopefully he's hungry to impress during the run-in.

3.) 12 Apr 2024 16:22:39
Maeda done his hamstring. That could be a massive blow of he's out for the remainder. Especially against that mob.

I seen a video of Alex Miller scoring a last minute winner for Rangers at Celtic Park in 1980.

That was Rangers only victory at Celtic Park in 27 attempts over a 15 year period.

Rangers won 2-1 in their last Old Division One league game at Celtic Park in 1974.

The new Premier League started in 1975 and Celtic only lost one "Old Firm" game at Celtic Park until 1989.
( Joe Miller missed a late penalty for a draw )

1.) 01 Jul 2024 13:17:45
Av only ever been to 2 Celtic v Them games and 1 was that game and other was when Souness got sent off and a think if memory serves me right Billy Stark scored only goal. Rangers Fans smashed our bus window and av never been to and Old or new Sevco game since.

2.) 01 Jul 2024 14:19:29
My first “Old Firm” match ended in a draw in 1985.
That meant Aberdeen were crowned Champions without playing.

The title hasn’t left Glasgow in nearly 40 years since.

3.) 01 Jul 2024 15:02:05
The above game Celtic had goal chopped off for offside which clearly wasn’t if my memory is correct.

4.) 01 Jul 2024 15:07:33
Murdo McLeod had a goal chopped off which would have made it 2 1 to Celtic start of 2nd half. I remember a lot of anger coming out of the Celtic camp it was never offside and it cost us big time.

5.) 01 Jul 2024 15:44:32
It was a disgraceful decision Gaz.

The linesman flagged McGarvey offside but he was standing at the back post and not anywhere in line with the Murdo shot.
When McCloy dived, Frank McGarvey was actually standing to his left and was no way in line with the shot.

The highlights show Danny McGrain going mental with the referee but the linesman had a howler.
It was made worse when Rangers scored the winner in the last minute.

Celtic still went on to lift another League Title. ?.

Although they're not the best for valuations,
Transfermarkt have updated the playing squads after a few contracts expired yesterday.

The Celtic squad is €123M but down from €157M last season.
Although no new signings yet.

The Sevco squad has nosedived to only €84M and that's including their new signings.
The Sevco squad was valued at €161M in the 2021/ 22 season.
( only 3 seasons ago )
Quite a few of those players have since left Ibrox for nothing.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 01 Jul 2024 10:57:31
Is theirs in Turkish lira?

2.) 01 Jul 2024 12:06:47
I think transfermarkt valuation for the most part is obviously way off but i think they do a pretty decent job of valuing players in order of how valuable players are in a given squad.
For example
Oriley celtics most valuable followed by ccv, kyogo, hatate.
I don't agree with the valuations but id have them in that order in terms of highest valuations.
They monitor over 1m players so credit where its due as its a very difficult thing to manage accurately. They do a very good job overall.

3.) 01 Jul 2024 14:23:09
I agree they’re not the most accurate but it’s a small indication.

30 Jun 2024 19:32:49
The transfer window closes on Friday August 30th.
The English window closes at 11pm.
The Scottish window closes at 11.30pm
Celtic are currently scheduled to play Sevco the next day.

Sky have confirmed our January 2nd Derby fixture at Ibrox will kickoff at 3pm.
The Dundee Derby will kickoff at 5.30pm on the same day.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 30 Jun 2024 20:07:26
And then?

2.) 30 Jun 2024 20:41:52
Buzz, when was the last 3 o clock ko for the derby game.

3.) 30 Jun 2024 21:01:24
The game we went top of the league in ange's first season was a night time game and I think the cup final was a 3pm kick off. Not sure about league though.

4.) 30 Jun 2024 21:25:32
Yeah the midweek game was because of covid call offs, but I can’t remember a league game for ages at 3.

5.) 30 Jun 2024 22:22:31
I’m sure it was the Celtic 5 Rangers 1 match from 1998.

I don’t know why it wasn’t live on the TV because the other 3 league matches that season kickoff times were 6.05pm.

Excluding the night games,
All the other league games since 1999 have had lunchtime kickoff times.

27 Jun 2024 09:49:19
Celtic play 8 Champions league fixtures this season.

Celtic are only scheduled to play at home after a European tie TWICE out of 8 fixtures.

It could become 3 if we get a home fixture in the League Cup.
Also after the 6th CL fixture, Celtic are scheduled to play away to Dundee but that will be changed to Hampden if we reach the league cup final.

After CL 1 - League Cup unknown
CL 2 - away to Ross County
CL 3 - away to Motherwell
CL 4 - away to Kilmarnock
CL 5 - home Ross County
CL 6 - away to Dundee or Cup Final
CL 7 - home to Dundee
CL 8 - away to Motherwell again.

Buzz Bomb 10

1.) 27 Jun 2024 10:49:58
Celtic will play at home to Motherwell on Boxing Day.

For the last 7 years Celtic have been scheduled to play away from home the first match after Christmas.

Celtic had previously went to -
Dundee (twice) Aberdeen, Hamilton, St. Mirren,
St. Johnstone and Hibs.

Sevco will now go along the road to St. Mirren on Boxing Day.
The last time they played 1st away after Christmas, was a 1-1 draw at St. Johnstone in 2016.

2.) 27 Jun 2024 12:03:19
One thing we have to hand it to SFA and SPL they have the best computers in world future . Computers without any specialised and specific programming are capable of carrying out the Scottish Authorities bigotry and sectarian selections of Key fixtures throughout season . Of course it would be normal and traditional for Celtic’s opening fixture to be flag -day and award Celtic, the Champions opportunity to have ceremony to raise flag and Honour of kicking - off new season with the early KO on Saturday. Naw independent computer put Celtic fixture on Sunday. 4.30 . Once again with Celtic who are at this stage only team guaranteed to play in Champions League., have had computer arranging Celtic playing a way from home for nearly all week ends after Europe . The computer without any programming never misses opportunity to make fixtures as hard as possible for Celtic .

3.) 27 Jun 2024 12:25:23
The epl ko every Sunday at 4.30.

4.) 27 Jun 2024 12:47:57
We always seem to get away fixtures after midweek European games.4.30 on a Sunday is terrible. Do the reigning champions not used to get a Saturday 3pm flag day fixture?

5.) 27 Jun 2024 14:29:19
This will be the first time Sevco have ever played an away match on Boxing Day in their History.

Rangers FC last played away from home on Boxing Day in 2010 at Motherwell before entering a Liquidation process.

Celtic have since played 8 away matches on Boxing Day.

6.) 27 Jun 2024 19:34:19
Sevco are due to play away on StStephen’s day as at this time they are not sure whether the Asbestos has been fully cleared up and stadium safe.

27 Jun 2024 09:21:16
The SPFL fudged up the fixture list in season 2021/ 22 when they had Celtic away to Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Sevco in the first 11 games.

Three years later they have rectified that to suit Sevco because they were due to play Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Celtic all away in the first 11 games.

Our first away game is against Hibs.
Celtic played away to Hibs first last season and it should've been the Ibrox clubs turn.

Celtic are home to Dundee Utd on the weekend of the League cup Semi Final and away to Dundee on the weekend of the Final.
Hopefully those matches will be rescheduled.

It would be good to get our Number 1 target and the Croatian keeper is who the majority of our fans want, to replace Big Joe.

I reckon it would be our best permanent signing in years.

I did read a while back, that Leverkusen were offering Frimpong a new and improved contract, that would take away the €40M clause.

I think it’s only fair to give O’Riley another pay rise considering he’s our biggest asset.

I know it’s maybe O’Riley’s own fault for accepting a below average Celtic wage, when he signed a new contract in October.

I read it’s £14k a week and he could multiply that wage by 5 or 6 times in a better league.

If Matt decides to stay,
We want the best out of him and to make him feel like he’s wanted.
The best way to show our appreciation, would be to make him one of our higher earners at our club.

I remember Morelos got a few pay rises in a short space of time at Ibrox when his valuation increased.

And like Mally highlighted,
Celtic are in our best ever position financially, so we should be spending it on our own.

I doubt any club will pay €40M for a player earning his trade in Scottish football.

I reckon Celtic will accept £25M plus the usual add ons.

I’m not surprised Soton are keen to buy O’Riley.
Previously signings from Celtic have had good careers on the South coast.
