Crazy season has started And I have a rumour that With who told me it might be correct I know his name has been mentioned before it is Altay Bayindir Manchester United 2nd Goalkeeper Apparently talks are at the final stages of conclusion. As I said its just a rumour.

1.) 03 Jun 2024 23:05:55
Don't know much about him apart from the fact he was the Fenerbahce GK and that he has 8 Caps or so for Turkey and is 6'3 or something like that, without seeing him play you would have to think he is a very decent keeper.

2.) 04 Jun 2024 08:58:15
That was doing the rounds last week it's an Israeli keeper now to join the cast of thousands.

3.) 05 Jun 2024 00:25:40
Maybe we will sign the Manchester United goalie as our number 2, back -up to Kellagher . Seriously I thought this time last season that Kellagher was prone to mistakes and let in too many goals, but I have to say he has had a good season and seems to have stopped letting in the odd soft goal .

Just a thought I wonder if we could persuade Ndidi to come to Celtic? He is out of contract with Leicester and I don't think he has a new club lined up?

tony2bhoy

1.) 30 May 2024 20:44:10
I would imagine he is in Brenden's thoughts. Seems to be linked with us as well as Dan Amarety in last few windows.

2.) 30 May 2024 20:56:45
Would love that Tony I just can't see it though, a player like this means breaking the wage structure. Are Celtic ready to do that? Personally I just don't think they are, we can however live in hope ?????????.

3.) 30 May 2024 22:27:03
If it’s a free surely £4/ 5m signing on fee £35k pew should be enough, if not look elsewhere, always worth the question.

4.) 31 May 2024 13:28:20
Sounds good but we can forget about it. I know there’s the link because Rodgers is here but several teams in the top 5 leagues are after him including Juventus and atletico, and with him being 27 he’s simply not going to come to Scotland and play at this standard even if we are in the champions league.

5.) 31 May 2024 14:07:56
Thanks for your thoughts It's just wishful thinking, And I hope there is a slim chance of it happening.

6.) 31 May 2024 20:32:54
Surely Celtic cannot have their maximum wage written in stone season after season. I don’t even know if there is a hard and fast rule written down . I imagine that if Celtic were able to sign a special player and if everything else is agreed then I would be surprised if deal fell through over a difference of £5,000 above what was the most Celtic had previously paid in wages.

7.) 01 Jun 2024 09:20:10
I would imagine our wage structure would increase as players usually have pay rises incorporated into there contracts or so am led to believe.

8.) 02 Jun 2024 22:11:43
He would be a smashing signing. Give him a cpl of £m signing on fee, Champions league Football and silverware even if it takes inserting a release clause into contract.

9.) 04 Jun 2024 23:37:32
NDIDI, I'm sure I've heard that name mentioned by a certain individual not that long ago ?

I'd take him on a free, big signing on bonus and good weekly salary - no brainer ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

{Ed007's Note - ???? Yes Ndidi, guilty as charged Ped

10.) 06 Jun 2024 08:13:41
Every player linked who already in’s top league earning big wages are well out of our reach. There are great players in other leagues where £6-7m gets you the cream. We just waste time if we try and bring someone in for less than they are on. I know all those links are press or agent initiated, the club aren’t even considering them, or shouldn’t be. More chance me asking my work for £70kna week and then replying no worries. Here’s a Bugatti too.

Just a rumour I have been given not sure how good it is really we are supposed to be looking at Daizan Maeda from Anges old club you tube can do wonders to a player and he does look good but if true Ange would know All about him.

tony2bhoy

1.) 10 Oct 2021 15:54:16
Posted that the other day Tony heard that to.

2.) 11 Oct 2021 17:23:57
His contract expires in January 2024.
Similar to Kyogo, he plays as a striker or left winger.
Although most of his goals are by his right foot.
Maeda is slightly taller than Kyogo and stands just under 5 foot 9 inches.
And yet about 20% of his goals are from headers which is impressive, considering only 10% of Kyogo’s goals are from headers.

3.) 12 Oct 2021 09:04:30
The king was never rhe tallest and scored a barrel load with his bonce.

4.) 12 Oct 2021 10:33:17
An honest question Buzz Bomb, is the average player in the J league smaller than in the European leagues?

5.) 12 Oct 2021 10:56:33
I hope your staying strong arrowh.
That’s a question and a half. ?
The average Japanese man is 2 or 3 inches shorter than a British, German or Dutch man.

6.) 13 Oct 2021 14:01:28
I’m doing ok Buzz thanks. I asked because I was wondering if he would find it more difficult against bigger defenders.

7.) 16 Oct 2021 09:55:13
Smaller in stature but they all have a bit of heart and pride about them, Maeda is a different type of striker to Kyogo quick, strong and direct could be a good partnership .

Scales for me is a terrible player for us. And his foul on Saturday was a foul all day long a stupid foul but for me that sums Scales up. But for all the Sevco fans that think VAR should have flagged it up don't know the rules VAR CAN'T FLAG UP A FOUL unless its for a penalty. And it was outside the box so they can't do anything about it. I can't believe I am defending Beaton on this considering he gave Hearts a penalty that wasn't one and turned a blind eye to a more blatant penalty clame that would still have been harsh BUT more of a penalty claim than the Hearts one explain that for interpretation of one referee to another. When it's the same guy?

tony2bhoy

1.) 28 May 2024 20:06:30
I think you’re being very unfair about Scales.

Scales has played in 45 out of our last 47 games in all competitions and they are all 90 minutes.

Yes he tired recently but he didn’t have the luxury of being alternated with other squad players.

Our midfielders and forwards are constantly get rests but Scales is being forced to play full games.

That shows that Brendan trusts Scales and I believe he played a massive part in Celtic winning the Double.

Scales deserved his new and improved contract and maybe he can show his best again next season, when he’s not being run into the ground.

I totally agree with you about the penalty incident and Beaton.

Remember Beaton has personally only given One Penalty against Sevco in 12 years and that was in 2017.

Records will show he gave 2 penalties against them since January but that was when VAR forced his arm.

I’ve got no doubts if that same incident happened in the Celtic box, that Beaton would’ve got involved.

Beaton is biased and Hopefully Collum sorts him out.

2.) 28 May 2024 21:43:42
tony2bhoy, Scales clearly has rough edges.
I'm hoping Brendan sees someone he can work with and improve, no doubt we will need very good CBs in Europe matches. Surely a good coach can take a strong fit player who wants to be the best he can be and get the most from him.

3.) 28 May 2024 23:53:14
The three Celtic players who I think deserve most credit for if over performing in the season just past are :
a) M O’R who started the season as one of our best players and throughout the season with top class performances was really the star player all season
b) Liam Scales played for us occasionally in his first half season, loaned to Aberdeen for a season long loan and he told anyone who listen to him, that this was what he needed and on return would be a Celtic regular . As Buzz bomb said he was certainly a regular, & I think played the most games and very rarely got a second half substitution and rest Liam has many Celtic fans who don’t rate him, but he is an example of those who don’t like him don’t matter, and those who like him keep playing him.
c) Greg Taylor unlike Scales who has got plenty of criticism for only one season so far, Taylor has been criticised by many Celtic supporters for 3/ 4 yrs . Amongst the criticism he gets is that he is too small . Taylor cannot change his height, and there are many full backs every bit as small . Taylor is an example for every fullback, he works his socks off and deserves plenty of praise.

4.) 29 May 2024 03:38:44
Wee des,
Those players you mentioned would be my players of the season alongside Joe Hart.

5.) 29 May 2024 05:40:59
Not a fan of scales and Taylor at all, whenever we have to defend crosses/ corners those two give me the fear at that back post and feel it a glaring problem.

6.) 29 May 2024 07:54:02
Scales needs to improve on his passing and decision making. He can certainly become a better player.

7.) 29 May 2024 07:56:13
They 2 should be back up at best. If we are serious about making inroads in Europe they 2 aren't good enough but sadly I suspect most are just happy to be ahead of sevco.

8.) 29 May 2024 08:42:05
As much as I’ve loved Joe Hart, he hasn’t always helped. As a keeper who can come and take balls out of the air would take pressure of the entire defence. But we definitely need more beef ( with quality ) in defence because we can be very fragile at times.

9.) 29 May 2024 10:24:15
Alistair Johnstone has had a poor season a think that's why BR has publicly stated that Ralston will get more game time nxt season.

10.) 29 May 2024 11:28:58
For me Scales only played because we never had much options with players out injured. His decision making 90% of the time is terrible at best like wise his passing forward I would keep him as a sub but not a first team choice. But then maybe that's why I am not a football manager Lol and it's just my opinion.

11.) 29 May 2024 12:19:42
I note your fear Zosh 1907, maybe to help u to overcome your fear, u should look back to last Sunday’s Scottish Cup final when Rangers2012 had 11 mostly very dangerous penalties from both wings . Celtic defended all 11, so maybe u won’t have to disappear behind sofa next time our opponents get a corner.

12.) 29 May 2024 12:44:45
Thing I love about TR is that he gets beyond the wingers and midfield, and he doesn’t dither, his first touch is usually a cross. LP winner being the perfect example.

13.) 29 May 2024 12:47:42
Taylor has had it in the neck from a lot of us. in my view he is one of 3 or 4 who have made our fantastic team spirit these past few years. He deserves some credit

Can think of a player who tries more and does a lot of the hard graft very consistently. That mob hate him as well… he gives them it tight.

He is well regarded by BR and the coaches.

14.) 30 May 2024 07:03:41
We bought 2 central defenders both of whom looked better on paper than Scales but for whatever reason/ s neither has really got near a regular starting place. What the reasons for that I do not know.

Scales panics when going forward with the ball and when he is closed down, he either turns back, passes sideways or makes a pass which puts the recipient under pressure.

Scales is good at attacking high balls from the opposition half but at corners or crosses into our box, he is very poor.

He also gets himself into great positions to have a strike at the opposition goal but never does, he just slows things down when we move forward, he never sprints forward into space, like CCV occasionally does.

I am not sure he has it in him to progress and develop more than where he is at, making a crunching tackle now and again, does not make you a great defender.

15.) 30 May 2024 22:09:16
I like scales and Taylor. Both genuine young men living the dream. I’d be curious though of all the goals we have lost last season how many were crosses to the left of our box? Agree big Joe not coming off line ever didn’t help. I think both enough for Scotland but in Europe need better. I not 100% mor will leave either. Maybe one more season?

16.) 31 May 2024 00:05:08
Our entire defensive set-up is based on goalkeeper basically not coming out for crosses . Our goal - keeping coach has defenders fully aware it is their responsibility to attack all crosses from play and set pieces . The worse thing Hart could do, therefore was to follow a cross until near the penalty spot and bumping into Celtic players on the way, leaving our opponent an chance to get to ball before goalie and having virtually an open goal to head ball towards.

27 May 2024 21:36:42
Bernardo worth keeping? IF we could get him for 4 million or less I would say yes, The 6 million plus I would say depending on how much we have for a budget this window. As we need a few players in including a goalkeeper, Plus we have to ship out a good few players permanently Its going to be a tough window I think. I just hope PL won't be our chief scout.

tony2bhoy

1.) 27 May 2024 23:55:12
Id rather put the money on idah . if we lose m. o. r we needed a high quality replacement and I don't think the bhoy bernado is that player .

2.) 28 May 2024 06:39:50
I'd like to think with the finances we've got we could afford idah and bernardo Comfortably without liquidating ourselves ?.

3.) 28 May 2024 07:38:44
I'd sign Bernardo. I'd hope for less than the quoted £6m but if that's the price I still think it's worth it.

Same with Idah but I'd pay a bit more for him, maybe even up to the record amount set by Édouard.

Priority is GK, LCB, LB, RW, Idah then Bernardo.

4.) 28 May 2024 10:47:32
Bernardo is a yes for me as he had a good season and with his age will only get better. I like that he has a bit of dig in him, not afraid to get stuck in. I remember his performance against Atletico in the CL, i thought he was brilliant defensivly that night.
I do get the feeling we won't bring him back though.
If we don't see him again then all the best to the boy, he certainly contributed.

5.) 28 May 2024 11:57:27
IMO I don’t think as supporters that if a targeted player, especially a player who we have for 6 months and we have had a very good opportunity to way up pros and cons cost shouldn’t be most important factor. First of all if fans and Board think a player isn’t good enough at £5m how will he improve us at £3 m .
Similarly if a player would be a good buy at £4 m, how would he become a player that couldn’t improve us at £6m
We as fans shouldn’t be over concerned if a player is anywhere within range, us fans should try to let Board know . If the Board can’t proceed with a deal if player is at the top of club’s estimation or even a bit above that, then they are still not backing Brendan . As Mallythetally says if Idah and Bernardo are wanted by scouts and more important by BR, then Board must do their best to sign both . Prices that are spoken about won’t bankrupt Celtic and won’t affect other pursuits of players.

11 May 2024 17:36:34
Humble pie Just before the game at gray scull I really thought we blew the league. Fair play to Ed and some others on here that still believed that we would win the league. BUT I AM SO HAPPY I WAS WRONG Champions again.

1.) 11 May 2024 18:34:14
Not to be a doom monger but they can still win league ??? my arse.

2.) 11 May 2024 18:35:23
I knew if we avoided defeat at the Sports direct Arena the league was ours!

3.) 11 May 2024 20:21:27
The only time I was confident of winning the league was back when we took a seven point lead and Beale was in charge.

Obviously in recent weeks I have became more confident but was not taking anything for granted due to our lack of consistency this season.

02 May 2024 16:20:57
This is going to be an interesting window IF we win the league or not, I just hope the board get it right THIS TIME. As far as I am aware we still don't have a head of recruitment? BIG fail on the boards part already if that is true, we need to get the new players identified and brought in on the first 4 weeks of the window opening not the last two days of the window closing. We also need a large amount off players off the books another task the board have to sort out. I just hope they are not going to go through the motions and same old excuses as (ITS HARD TO BRING IN NEW TALENT OR WE TRIED AND THE PLAYER WAS NOT INTERESTED) We need it sorted out quickly if the player cost an extra £200k than what we valued him at PAY IT. Get the squad ready for Europe and domestically Before the season starts. The board members get huge amounts of money to do what they are supposed to do compared to normal employment jobs I hope they start to earn that by doing what they were brought in to do to make our club as successful as possible with in the finances of the club.

tony2bhoy

{Ed007's Note - I think you, Tony and a lot of supporters will be disappointed if they are expecting all the signings to be done in the first 4 weeks of the window - remember there's the Euros this summer and as you say we don't even have a Head of Recruitment in place.
Perhaps our future HOR/DOF/SD is already in a job and can't leave until the season is over and is scouting/researching for us as well. Maybe some of our targets don't need scouted, Rodgers and everyone else knows exactly what they can do so it's down to Nicholson and Rodgers to convince them to sign.}

1.) 02 May 2024 17:31:35
I'm sure I read that Ndidi, Vestergaard and Iheanacho are all out of contract this summer. It wouldn't surprise me if Rodgers fancied at least one of them to come in. Whether we could get them is another thing.

{Ed007's Note - I'd love to see us sign Ndidi, Kev but I think we'd be priced out of it ever happening.}

2.) 02 May 2024 17:42:25
I hope you are correct Ed regarding we have some one lined up. And yes you are correct about the Euros and probably being disappointed for not getting players in fast IF the targets are in European squads at the Euros As long as who ever we bring in isn't on the last day or week of the window and in on time for Europe I would be happy with that.

{Ed007's Note - A lot of players wait until the last day of the window before deciding where to go, like CCV who had other options and needed assurances from the USMNT that playing on Scotland wouldn't harm his international career before making up his mind, Giakoumakis was signed on the last day of the window as was Jota.
If we win the league the first CL group game is scheduled for 17th-19th of September.}

3.) 02 May 2024 17:52:12
I don't expect all the dealings to be done right at the start but if the board don't want to come under pressure then they had better have some signings to excite the fans as soon as the window opens.

If they don't, with each passing day the fans ire will snowball. Now imagine we lose the league, think how angry the fans are going to get, as many of us are already fuming at the board.

4.) 02 May 2024 18:22:30
I've read that Hearts are apparently missing a few players ahead of the game inc Haring and Boyce, who's usually a handful.

Irrespective of who plays it's down to us to do everything possible to secure the 3 pts, nothing less will do.

☘️ ☘️ ?.

5.) 02 May 2024 18:44:56
Haring has only played One game in the last 7 months through injury.

Boyce hasn’t played since December and it’s been confirmed his season is over.
Halkett hasn’t played since February and his season is also finished.

6.) 02 May 2024 18:48:09
A couple of other things to take into comsideration
Brendan is not known for moving quickly, he waits until last minute.
We fans are looking for signings quickly bu our Board move slowly as well, and they will try and reduce fees as much as possible even if that means losing out on a target.

7.) 02 May 2024 19:15:30
its notgoing to happen. the euros will affect things massively. players will want to shop window themselves for the biggest moves and as such clubs will hold out for the biggest fee. plus rodgers is a pie lol.

8.) 02 May 2024 19:27:44
We have to be careful we don’t over demand, because if we do Board will label us as a group that demand for the sake of demanding . We need to be
constructive and not jump to conclusion that whoever Board buy or sign on Loan is useless. Remember only we were desperate we would have condemned Idah in January . For any given position we could all have different choices and there can be no right or wrong candidate, Probably we won’t know for much of the season whether he is good or bad.

9.) 03 May 2024 02:01:59
Can't wait to see how many times the terms " Oven ready CL players" and " project players" will be used!

10.) 03 May 2024 09:54:41
@bhoy88 I bet we hear sack the board more. ?.

11.) 03 May 2024 14:54:50
As a club we have to have an improvement in Europe this year that must be the yard stick to where we are as a club and going forward. Domestically we can see where we are but in Europe we have failed terribly that trend can't go on. I put a lot of that on the board rather than the manager or players. As I see it the recruitment in the last few seasons have let us down the restrictions on the price cap for new players have been our downfall, I am not saying every player we bring in should be 10 million plus but one or two should be of that ilk experienced players mixed with some that the board love (potential) quality.

12.) 03 May 2024 14:56:01
The meaningless sack the Board is absolutely useless unless those who or saying it or writing it have something to back it up .
Sacking the Board is beneficial if for example there is a petition on the go that expects to raise over 30,000 names . Or there is a series of public of very well attended public meetings which shows a large number of Celtic fans are actually interested in sacking the Board .
Sacking the Board needs to take place quickly with a new Board that has the support of both the fans and investors set up very quickly . If sacking the. Board is a slow long drawn out affair with nobody who has experience and ability, as well as desire, leading the campaign, a long drawn out campaign with individuals taking opposite sides would instead of benefiting club, would destroy our club we all enjoy completely and we could very well use our dominant position in Scottish Football for decades . Of course if we could get rid of Board appoint a new modern whose main concern was to make Celtic an European Giant once more .

13.) 03 May 2024 14:58:21
Open season on Lawwell again?.

tony2bhoy

{Ed007's Note - We need to bring in more than one striker this summer, maybe even 3 if Kyogo leaves and I wouldn't mind Idah being part of that mix
Is Miovski good enough to lead the line at a Club the size of Celtic, is he capable of playing and competing at CL level?}
