Just got in and heard this. So sad to lose another true legend. Bertien as always been a favourite of mine. I've had the pleasure and honour to have met the man on a couple of occasions. A real people's man who always had time for his many fans. We'll always remember the time he took with my daughter to make her first day at paradise so special. She's not even that into celtic or football nowadays, but she'll gladly tell anyone she meets about her time with Bertie that day. So sad to get this news, but happy that he is now in the care of our Lord and also happy for everything he gave the world in his lifetime. RIP Bertie. A true Celtic Legend!

Griffiths has had a lot off problems with his health the last story that came out about him was stupid and avoidable but was I think partly or fully down to ignorance on his part As much as I am pleased he is going somewhere else I wish him all the best in the future and hope he can get better mentally in the future.

Lennon in both stints at Celtic had the players at the most unfit they ever were. Strachan and Rodgers and deila all had the players at the top of fitness that's why we scored so many late goals. But under lennon it looked like he didn't bother about that as I read some players were hiring personal fitness instructors to up there own levels.

Should never had a renewed contract. And as for Edourde, the sooner he goes the better. He was the unfitest of that bunch as well as the worst player.

its up to the player himself to make sure he is fit no one can get you fit accept yourself you alone have to put the effort in to be fit you can only be coached so much by a fitness coach you know your limits.

I don't remember ajer ever causing trouble apart from his agents antics? I might be wrong but I thought the big man was one of the only players to show any kind of passion last season. Would love for us to tie him down to a long term contract and make him captain as crazy and unlikely as that sounds.

We should all wish him well, even if it's just self interest, he does well, we make money. I wish him well. If he succeeds, then every other player we buy, has the benefit of knowing English clubs can trust us to produce players worth millions to us. They get a move if they turn it on, in Europe. It has to be Europe as nobody rates our league. If they do that, we may avoid being constantly handed our erse. The CL might even happen.

Dear Michael Nicholson,
I write to you as a concerned Celtic fan to ask for your comment on the strongly rumoured appointment of Bernard Higgins as a member of our club's security staff. In his role as Assistant Chief Constable with Police Scotland, and as the national strategic lead for football, Higgins had the responsibility for how football would be policed. This included decisions over the implementation of the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012.
Whilst this was always a poorly written and ill-judged piece of legislation, Higgins played an instrumental role in ensuring that this law would do as much damage to the lives of football fans as possible. He had a hand in many significant decisions which negatively impacted the lives of fans, from the routine intrusive surveillance of supporters to the practices of dawn raids of fans' homes, and the kettling of supporter groups.
From 2012 onwards, the culture of policing of football changed drastically as a new authoritarian approach was ushered in. Fans were routinely treated with constant criminal suspicion. Hundreds of football fans had their lives ruined by Bernard Higgins and his colleagues through spurious charges often leading to football banning orders, social isolation, fractured relationships, media harassment, deteriorating mental health and termination of employment. When most of these fans were found not guilty, the damage of this process was never undone.
Given the pivotal role that Higgins has played in the harassment, intimidation and criminalisation of Celtic fans, I am astonished that he would be deemed a suitable candidate to look after the safety and security of our support. The recently released statement, co-signed by over 200 organisations, supporter clubs and fan media, makes it crystal clear that the Celtic support is united in opposition to this appointment and that fans will refuse to engage with Higgins if he is appointed. Engagement with supporters is crucial to the safe management of football crowds and this would clearly be impossible with Higgins at the helm. His appointment would also be an insult to the many fans who have suffered as a result of decisions taken by him and his fellow officers.
I ask that you respond to this issue directly and that you make it clear to the supporters that Bernard Higgins will not be recruited by Celtic Football Club. Ange Postecoglou and his team are delivering fantastic performances on the pitch, and it would be extremely regrettable if a wedge was driven between the club and many of the supporters when we must all be united to support the team.

Don't know about that, but I remember WGS after Naka's first game, saying it was the best home debut he'd ever seen and Kyogo topped it. Makes you wonder why there has been such a gap in recruitment from Japan between both these players as unlike other nationalities, they seem to settle very quickly and technical ability is excellent.

Strachan said Scottish football would struggle becusr of size of players we produce. That's not going to change. His football at Celtic was dreadful. Save me results argument he's developing the future not getting the best out of what he had. Plus it will secure his laptop boy in a job even longer.
