Has the Croation CB signed yet I read somewhere the other day rthe deal is almost complete has it moved on any yet?

1.) 28 Jun 2021 14:44:08
Read this morning we are in for Baldock, Sheff Utd fullback, 28. Probably just another to add to the list but you never know.

2.) 28 Jun 2021 21:25:37
Ok cheers mate.

18 Jun 2021 12:12:53
We have signed Joey Dawson from Scunthorpe United on a 3 Yr deal boy is only 18 I think.

1.) 18 Jun 2021 12:38:58
Liverpool got Kevin Keegan from them, you never know 🙂.

2.) 18 Jun 2021 13:47:51
Very good young player.

3.) 18 Jun 2021 13:50:27
Did we not get Gary Hooper from them he turned out okay.

4.) 18 Jun 2021 14:59:34
Downside Shane Duffy was on loan there 😬.

5.) 18 Jun 2021 16:43:07
He's 18 so another for the development team.

6.) 19 Jun 2021 09:34:24
If he isn't good enough for the first team squad by 18, will he ever be? If he is get him in in there and see what he can do. Young players all over Europe are stepping up. If he's good enough yes old enough, if he us to disappear into that place "project" go never to be seen again, it's a waste of feckin time. Hooefully Ange gives these young guys a chance, if not, don't sign any player who isn't good enough to join the first team squad. This one for the future pish is a waste of time if that future never arrives. And with us it never seems to. Welcome to the club son. I hope you get a chance to show what you can do and if you do, take it.

7.) 19 Jun 2021 11:55:50
Have to agree mate, 18-19 year old are like 21 year olds in terms of how often they are getting played now.
You used to have to be in 20s to get a chance unless you were an unbelievable talent.
Clubs are bringing guys in younger and younger and if your 18 and good enough you at least train with 1st team and get loaned out if not ready so you play 1st team football.
Playing against boys same age doesn’t develop players as well, hopefully the lowland league helps a bit even if the standard isn’t great.

15 Jun 2021 08:26:35
Rumours online are some guy named Mooy is a target, I think we will be linked with the full Australian squad over the next few weeks lol.

1.) 15 Jun 2021 09:23:00
Mooy is a really good player was amazing the games a seen him down south. But he been playing in China hope he no lost his way.

2.) 15 Jun 2021 09:28:50
Mooy is a right good player and has graced the so called best league in the world.

3.) 15 Jun 2021 09:00:44
Ed: is this guy who played for man City a few years ago? I don't watch any football other than celtic but his name seems familiar.

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate and he played for St Mirren as well.}

4.) 15 Jun 2021 10:09:50
Hopefully we can get him in, if we are even interested, before Christmas, next year. Our board rake forever in every single thing they do, before finally feckin it up.

5.) 15 Jun 2021 11:36:02
30yo good few years left links play well and great passer if memory serves me well.

6.) 15 Jun 2021 12:30:25
Good solid midfielder.

7.) 15 Jun 2021 14:05:02
Not sure how much truth there is to this if I'm honest, can honestly see this just being paper talk and a chance to speculate as he's Australian and knows the new manager. He's also probably on a very decent wage over there and had the intention of getting a good pay day before calling it a day and tbh is central midfield an area we should be prioritising with soro, turnbull and mcgregor already there?

8.) 15 Jun 2021 14:21:46
His wife's from Glasgow. Really good player just what we need on the right side behind Forrest. HH.

9.) 15 Jun 2021 16:14:28
Mooy scored his only league goal for St. Mirren against Rangers in 2011.
Mooy got the equaliser and then Ex Celtic player and Supporter Paul McGowan got the winner for St. Mirren.
A few days later Celtic stormed to the top of the league with a Joe Ledley winner against Rangers and Celtic stayed there for 9 years.

10.) 15 Jun 2021 21:35:49
MarkM88, yes we should prioritise Central midfield. You really think soro, Turnbull and magregor as our only real midfielders will be enough. Good players- although Soro still has a long way to go to really convince- but if that's our midfield next season we are toast. It's powderpuff, need a real enforcer in there or a dictator. Someone to control the game. I think we need 2 more centre mids.

03 Jun 2021 16:39:15
We have agreed compo for the Aussie manager Ange. I don't think this will be a good move.

1.) 03 Jun 2021 17:16:21
Why not?, give the guy a chance.

2.) 03 Jun 2021 20:07:31
According to reports the compensation is supposed to be quite a hunk of change and if this truly messes up. it will indeed be a costly one. and I am fed up off hearing that he is a top coach. if he is as they say he is wouldn't he have been snapped up. just feels like our transfer policy. panic buys on the last day.

3.) 03 Jun 2021 21:23:50
I will give him a chance like everyone else but I am obviously concerned that he hasn’t ever been mentioned for any EPL job, Championship job or clubs of similar appeal to us in Europe.
I like that his football is very attacking but I’m concerned that he would rather win 5-4 than 1-0 as for me we need to concentrate on defence and goalkeeper more than anywhere else.
I’m sure he will pull a wee gem or 2 from Australia and or Japan that will hopefully settle and improve our squad as well as opening up better exposure for us in said countries.
I’m looking forward to the rebuild now let’s do everything in our power to get our title back this season.

4.) 04 Jun 2021 08:00:50
Sunderland looked at him a few years ago apparently, but Martin Bain wanted to please the fans by bringing in a big name, so they got Chris? Coleman.

21 May 2021 07:25:23
Villa have bid 7million for Turnbull.

1.) 21 May 2021 08:54:44
If that is the case Villa should be banned from ever bidding for any of our players ever again as it shows a complete disregard for the player in question. 7 mill wouldn't buy the boys weak foot! HH.

2.) 21 May 2021 11:52:48
Tell them McGinn plus £7m and we will think about it?

3.) 21 May 2021 12:09:14
Is anyone surprised to be honest. They are so full of sxxt down there. They will never change.

4.) 21 May 2021 12:34:36
No chance they have bid anything - The Daily Ranger posting its Daily TRIPE.

5.) 21 May 2021 18:45:15
More made up paper p**h that happens all the time to try and sell our players, you never get them printing stuff like that when the Orc players are concerned.

6.) 21 May 2021 18:47:17
We should put in a bid for their star player Grealish for £7m and see how they like it.

7.) 21 May 2021 20:29:32
I (and others) have said that Turnbull is a big part of the long term future of our club. Some have disagreed and don't rate him yet, saying he needs to do more etc. and that's fair enough even if I disagree.
The lad himself may ultimately want to move and then it becomes a matter of money on all fronts but I don't think we should accept any bid for him this season, if there even is a genuine bid to begin with. HH.

8.) 21 May 2021 22:23:57
I don’t see what everybody is complaining about. We paid less than £3m for him last year. I agree that we should not accept it but why are we getting upset about it?

9.) 22 May 2021 07:06:23
I fully agree, 1st of all it’s an opening bid not their final bid so you would expect they would be willing to bid £10m plus and he only cost £3m.
What’s he actually achieved other than being the best player in a terrible bunch.
Has he scored or created goals in big matches the answer is no not really.
Do I rate him and think he will improve the answer is yes absolutely but some fans valuation of £21m for what he’s achieved so far is arrogant.
Has he done much more than Lewis Ferguson so far in league not really and people would agree £7m for him would be good business for Aberdeen.
If Turnbull plays like he has for the half a season he’s featured for another couple of seasons then absolutely rate him in the £15m plus bracket but not yet.

10.) 22 May 2021 08:55:54
Turnbull signed 5mins ago, is under contract and has a great future.

Unless we were offered crazy money and we had his replacement already signed 👍 he should stay.

11.) 22 May 2021 16:49:00
Pedro71, i agree that he should stay and i think that he will stay but I don’t understand why an opening bid of £7m is an insult when we obviously offered less that half of that for him last season.

12.) 22 May 2021 19:10:29
I hear you arrowh and although he's no Messi, the English clubs always low ball players coming from Scotland.

16 Jul 2021 15:05:00
Is the Japanese guy any good.

1.) 16 Jul 2021 15:42:21
42 games at striker, 27 goals and 12 assists.

90 games at left wing, 29 goals 19 assists.

Almost 2 matches to the game he has a goal involvement on the wing.

Almost every game he has a goal involvement as a CF.

I wonder if he’s our new striker?

2.) 16 Jul 2021 17:16:47
Do your home work.
He's the top bhoy over there. And an absolute great talent for us.
Natural attacker natural finisher it's a tougher shift for him in scotland but he seems to only need a sniff of the goal to score.

3.) 16 Jul 2021 17:42:17
I watched a video of his goals.
He’s got a great first touch and is 2 footed.
I couldn’t tell which was his stronger foot until he scored a penalty with his right foot.
I hope Ange has a Japanese playmaker in mind because they’re so technically gifted.

4.) 16 Jul 2021 19:41:28
I'd agree Buzz, on a technical level they seem far more disciplined.

5.) 16 Jul 2021 20:20:12
Naka may fancy a wee season long cameo.

6.) 16 Jul 2021 21:16:55
Ah Naka, what a player he was.

7.) 17 Jul 2021 01:52:53
Agree buzz and they work their arse off too. Asian players always seem to put in a shift.

8.) 17 Jul 2021 11:45:55
Agree buzz, the boy is comfortable on both feet. I watched the videos over and over and had no clue which was his preferred choice of foot, will be a nightmare to defend against . Think we have an absolute gem in the making.

14 Jul 2021 18:32:25
I know I have very pessimistic about celtic lately but disappoint over Howe rejecting us and having lennon her for atleast 6 months longer than he should have been, but looking at the players we are signing is getting me excited for the new season so I would like to say sorry for all my past negativity and I hope and pray this is the start of something big.

1.) 14 Jul 2021 18:47:48
I have also been negative about the season ahead and it’s not something I want to write.
I don’t want regulars like arrowh to take time away from the site due to negative opinions.
From now on, I will be backing the manager and players.
If it turns out the club have downsized and we start to struggle, it will be the Celtic boards fault.

2.) 14 Jul 2021 18:48:02
Marco……we had Neil Lennon 10 YEARS longer than we should have….

26 Jun 2021 04:26:35
Is McKay on the same bonuses as Lawell, does anyone know? . If he is we will know what players we are signing lol the cheapest of the cheap.

1.) 26 Jun 2021 08:47:45
Not sure how anyone would know or care Marco.

Were you worrying about PL's bonus when 9 titles on the bounce were delivered or the quadruple Treble? 🤔.

09 May 2021 16:11:06
Well St Johnstone on course for a cup double, well done them.

05 May 2021 09:27:00
So does everyone think the new manager will be Eddie Howe or will it be someone else that hasn't been mentioned yet?

1.) 05 May 2021 10:58:19
Who honestly knows mate, one thing is for sure though, they better get a finger out soon in announcing who it is because while I do think season tickets will sell, I don’t see them flying out the door just as quick as they might if fans new exactly who’d be in charge and what the plans are for the upcoming season.

2.) 05 May 2021 11:18:52
I'm not buying the excuse its all to do with waiting to see how Bournemouth do in the playoffs to see if their coaches will leave or not. that's not a valid reason as to why Howe and Harkin cannot be announced as coaches wouldn't be needed until the summer.

I've got a feeling Keane is DD choice and he will force it through probably on the same day Peter Lawell leaves the building.

Another lingering thought of mine is Moyes. If West Ham don't make Champions League then I wouldn't be surprised if we threw a lot of money at Moyes to get him up here either. Moyes is a more sensible long term solution given his age and fact he's done in the the pub league for many years where as in a few years a young coach like Howe would be looking to move on and test himself in the Pub league again.

3.) 05 May 2021 12:02:39
del i don't get your post. moyes is challenging for top for and a champions league spot but he is done down there he is having one of west hams best seasons ever yet he is done.

4.) 05 May 2021 12:05:12
After the nightmare season we had, you would think The Board, in particular, would have been burning the midnight oil since the turn of the year to salvage something and make amends for such a disaster, but no, let's push-on with a caretaker that hasn't a clue and see how far we can really sink without a single trophy and possible record points deficit. Then after we have a wee holiday, see if we can be bothered? Any other 'big' club would have moved mountains to sort this mess and try and put an end to a year of misery, failure, damaged (or destroyed) reputations and constant bad publicity.

5.) 05 May 2021 13:38:59
Sorry UI its a typo. I meant to say done it. As in been there, done it. After his spell at Man Utd I doubt any of the so called top 6 teams would consider him in the future.

West Ham are unlikely to sustain pushing in to the top six season after season. Its the kind of club that you wouldn't be surprised if they finished 17th next season.

I think if the finances are there for a proper rebuild the project of rebuilding our team and attempting to reassert ourselves in Europe is more appealing than the West Ham job. he's no spring chicken and the kind of guy I could see sticking it out for 4 or 5 years up here which is what we need whilst the foundations are laid i the background for the new setup.

6.) 06 May 2021 01:05:41
France - World Champions; Leicester- Premier League; Chelsea - multiple trophies. Common factor? Kante, a holding midfielder! I rest my case!

{Ed001's Note - Kante is not a holding midfielder. Matic sat for Chelsea alongside him, now they are using Jorginho or Kovacic to do that. Drinkwater did it at Leicester and Matuidi for France. To get the best out of Kante you just let him loose in the centre of the pitch and let him do what he wants by putting a holding midfielder in place to ensure there are no gaps behind. But it does back up your case, as it requires a holding midfielder for him to be as effective as he is.}

Thought Barkas was decent until the goal they scored his fault all day long should have punched it rather than pulling his hands away but I thought we looked a lot sharper and qui kwr going forward.

@UI lennon constantly said he could turn things around and time and time again he failed. He should have done the decent thing and walked away when he knew he couldn't change things, lennon didn't love the club as much as you think that's why he was waiting for a pay off. If he did love the club as much as people say he would have held his hands up and not blamed everything on everyone else except himself. He took the plaudits when things were going well but didn't want to take any critisism when things went Pete tong. Screw lennon the man's an ass hole rant over.
