An updated version of the Hannes Wolf story is still doing the rounds.

Probably click bait.

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

1.) 19 Jan 2022 11:45:56
He’s off to Swansea on loan, Matt O’Riley to Celtic from MK Dons.

2.) 19 Jan 2022 12:10:40
1.5 million in hearing where does this boy play is he a winger? We're in midfield?

3.) 19 Jan 2022 12:14:17
Box 2 box midfielder.

4.) 19 Jan 2022 12:45:51
I thought Ange said we were done in the transfer window unless someone exceptional comes along.

5.) 19 Jan 2022 13:03:46
Appears he's having medical today. Ange is playing the blue tinted media at their own game. Got to love him.

Ange never actually said that and why tell the media anything, he plays them like a fiddle ?.

09 Jan 2022 09:12:07
Riley McGree, 23yrd old, Australian playmaker, currently on loan at Birmingham City is a player who's being linked with us.

☘ ? ☘.

1.) 09 Jan 2022 09:43:08
Seems a deal us close ped.

2.) 09 Jan 2022 10:30:02
Some good information on his Wiki page

Riley Patrick McGree  (born 2 November 1998) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer expansion franchise Charlotte FC and for the Australian national team. He claims he spotted Gio Van Bronkhorst in the film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’ as an oompa loompa which, according to sources, is a very strong possibility due to Gio being a very short man.

3.) 09 Jan 2022 11:53:09
Kind of reminds me of Commons, Seems to take up the right areas in the box almost like a stikers instinct. Looks to have a better turn of pace than Rogic and Turnbull too. YouTube his scorpion goal it's a belter.

4.) 09 Jan 2022 12:22:22
I'm probably well out of the loop (as usual) but it's the first I've heard his name.
He seems to tick a lot of boxes and everyone connected with Birmingham City has only good things to say about him.
Could be a good move if it goes through ?

☘ ? ☘.

5.) 09 Jan 2022 14:33:08
Pedro, you're not alone, I'd never heard of the lad either. HH.

6.) 09 Jan 2022 16:07:12
Am positive we were linked with this player years ago when he was younger, sure he went to Belgium but I could be wrong.

7.) 09 Jan 2022 16:52:52
You're spot on CMC.

03 Jan 2022 14:55:59
Now reports suggesting Henderson will definitely be away this month and the two lads we got from Sheffield Wednesday will go out on loan.

☘ ? ☘.

1.) 03 Jan 2022 16:15:09
Is there anywhere particular you'd like to see the loan guys go? For me, the most important thing is game time regardless.

2.) 03 Jan 2022 17:22:11
Kevbhoy, I believe they could get a game for the majority of teams in our league, but as you say, game time is crucial.

☘ ? ☘.

3.) 03 Jan 2022 19:21:05
I heard St Johnstone is interested in Shaw. They've been struggling since Ali McCann left so Shaw should slot into his position. Hopefully help them grind out a result against that lot too. Maybe if the Mugabe rumours are true then cash plus Urhoghide on loan to Motherwell? Agree though game time is the most important thing for loaning out any of our youngsters.

4.) 03 Jan 2022 21:26:38
DLBIA, interesting shout with St. Johnstone.
Personally, I think Mugabe looks a bit rough around the edges, do we really need him with Julien coming back?

☘ ? ☘.

5.) 03 Jan 2022 23:19:19
If Julien comes back to his best, we don't need this guy. Julien and CV would be formidable if they click imo. I also think Starfelt once he settles in will be an asset. It takes time to settle into another country and way of life.

6.) 04 Jan 2022 00:41:58
Welcome Maedanparadise, agreed and as well as those 3 CB's we've also got Stephen Welsh.

☘ ? ☘.

7.) 04 Jan 2022 12:55:34
I've no idea where the Mugabe rumours come from but it's been mentioned a lot online. Don't particularly need Mugabe, Scales can cover CB too and as you say Pedro Jullien is back. Maybe Ange wants another body in to give us an option of switching to 3 at the back but then we have Bitton too who can play there although I don't like him at CB.

8.) 04 Jan 2022 15:39:03
Anybody else think The Poet is Hoops88 or have I just been away too long.

9.) 04 Jan 2022 19:20:28
Anything is possible AGG - we can all reinvent ourselves if we really want to and try hard enough. Why do you think it's him?

P. S. I have a few dresses and kitten heels on e-bay at the moment. Thanks for looking in advance at BigDaphne@ebay. com.

10.) 04 Jan 2022 21:55:35
Hoops88 has been very quiet ?

☘ ? ☘.

11.) 04 Jan 2022 22:23:57
@stubbsiesHore, yeah I guess we can, I thought their post's we're kinda the same and I've not seen the poet before.
P. S. not my colour mate.

12.) 04 Jan 2022 23:06:47
Thanks AGGie - when I think about it there is kinda the same "rhythm" there of sorts. But why change at all - unless you have been like Monty Python's Messiah (ask your dads) ?

AGGie - is that you with "Old Big Ears"? Loving your avatar if it is. I have never managed to get hold of it before - although tried many times! In fact the biggest cup I ever got my hands on belonged to my sisters fat friend in the 90s - trust me - I got danger money for that!

13.) 05 Jan 2022 08:07:20
@stubbsieshorse, it's a replica of it in the pub I drink in mate.

I've read that young Jude Bonnar who plays on the left wing, has just signed his first professional contract with Celtic.

Good luck for the future young man.

Prior to last evening we should have had a squad capable of managing to compete for both the league as well as the S. C. and I still believe we do.

I hope our midfield players have enough about them that they can step up and fill the void left by Calmac, one of our best/ most consistent players, I believethey can.

Now with Kyogo out and Maeda being called up for Japan, the next 3 games or so are made even more difficult and getting goals in these games falls mainly on the shoulders of Giorgious, he's capable and now is the time to deliver.

C'Mon bhoys, win this league for Callum and win it the Celtic way.

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

21 Jan 2022 13:59:00
With the present first team squad as it is this afternoon, taking any pre Summer deals for Jota and CCV out of the conversation, what deals would you bhoys like to see take place in the remainder of this transfer window? ?

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

1.) 21 Jan 2022 14:15:41
Lewis Ferguson.

2.) 21 Jan 2022 14:43:19
Gudmonsson, AZ Alkmaar, will be next in.

3.) 21 Jan 2022 14:50:37
Ferguson would be a good signing. We should be signing young Scottish talent.

Hail Hail
???.

4.) 21 Jan 2022 14:56:40
Jfp wee have far to many midfielders mate I do think ferguson would be a great signing though .

5.) 21 Jan 2022 15:45:31
Barkas, Ajeti, Johnston out the door.

6.) 21 Jan 2022 15:46:04
I'd like to see many out the door! As for in's, a decent backup goalie would be good as Hazard has gone.

7.) 21 Jan 2022 16:13:08
Winger for me chinks.

8.) 21 Jan 2022 16:17:28
Ask Ange that question, because he is the only one who knows and we will get what we need.
No one could ever predicted we would be in this position 9 months ago. Ange is the man.

9.) 21 Jan 2022 16:29:56
I'd rather we'd have signed ferguson than guchi . not that I think guchi is bad . but through possible international call ups . a possible 4 players out the first team would be a big miss . out of curiosity does anyone know how the youngsters who got picked up by german clubs are faring?

{Ed007's Note - I doubt Ideguchi will be getting called up to Japan any time soon and it'll be a massive surprise if Hatate and/or Maeda do. It's an absolute story that people have latched onto without actually looking into if these players are normally involved with the national team - which they aren't.}

10.) 21 Jan 2022 17:09:15
DrB, I read an article a few weeks back about the boys that went over and they've had a wee bit of a tike of it over there. From what I understand, they've both had pretty bad injuries are are not long back in full training. The language barrier has been another tough obstacle to overcome as well by the sounds of it.

11.) 21 Jan 2022 17:19:20
Ed . ta.

{Ed007's Note - ?

12.) 21 Jan 2022 17:37:30
Hope your right Ed if we keep these three and only lose rogic I think we stand a real good chance of turning the klan over. Soon as Turnbull and kyogo are fit though we will be in good stead . Saying that though one game at a time the game tomorrow and a daunting trip to swinecastle before that game.

{Ed007's Note - Hatate (24 y.o.) has never been capped at senior level, Ideguchi (25 y.o.) hasn't been near the national team since 2019 (although he has got 15 caps but 11 of them were in 2017) the same as Maeda (24 y.o.)

13.) 21 Jan 2022 18:31:20
Don’t know anything about the foreign players, but Lewis Ferguson is head and shoulders above all the younger Scottish talent. We should sign him sooner rather than later. Don’t want to lose him to the other side which might become a real possibility as time goes by.
?.

14.) 21 Jan 2022 18:58:17
Lewis ferguson all day long.

15.) 21 Jan 2022 19:05:03
Rob. ta. mind reading at time one of the big motivating factors for leaving was the Germans gave them a clear progression route mapped out individually ( dortmund and Munich I if I remember) . what was expected of them and what the in return could expect etc. was our set up that bad we couldn't have a clear career plan fir development. or where the boys being unfair?

16.) 21 Jan 2022 19:10:36
Oldkilly, what about Boli? He’d be first to go .

17.) 21 Jan 2022 19:19:38
How much would the dons want though? A don't think he has long left on his contract?

18.) 21 Jan 2022 19:22:25
Also Scottish talent we need a gd balance of foreign players with home grown talent and McGregor and Ferguson hatate in the middle of the park would be frightening plenty of strength in deep in the midfield ??.

19.) 21 Jan 2022 20:30:23
Lewis Ferguson’s contract expires on May 31st 2024.
This transfer window or the summer transfer window would be the best time for Aberdeen to cash in or his value might drop.
To get top dollar there needs to be at least 2 years left on the players contract.
Remember it was reported that Aberdeen wouldn’t accept £5 Million for McKenna, so I don’t think Ferguson will be cheap.

{Ed007's Note - Lewis Ferguson, his dad and his agent Bill McMurdo were raging that Aberdeen turned down a £2 million bid from Watford last year and they are not happy with the way he's been treated overall with broken promises & "gentlemen's agreements" etc and remember Lewis came from Hamilton and is still one of Aberdeen's lowest paid players.}

20.) 21 Jan 2022 20:35:45
If Ferguson is Head and Shoulders above every young player in Scotland. Why no bids for him. The money down in England would be loose change to get his services. Don't get the hype myself but I'm still holding out for Johnston to turn a corner.

21.) 21 Jan 2022 20:44:44
Thanks Ed.
I would rather Celtic signed him before he ends up at Ibrox.
I can see a young Broony in Lewis and I would love for him to play for Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - I think he fancies a move to England, Buzz but Celtic should certainly still be asking the question.}

22.) 21 Jan 2022 20:56:17
Johnston has his chance, I personally don't think he is good enough, saying that I thought Ralston was done at Celtic and look how that turned out. So I am probably wrong lol.

23.) 21 Jan 2022 21:02:26
Auf1888 I never thought for a minute I would agree with you but I’m with you regarding the hype about Ferguson. Don’t hold your breath on Johnston turning a corner.

24.) 21 Jan 2022 21:25:32
T1M Turnbull might struggle to get back into the side when fit again. He wasn't exactly setting the heather on fire before his injury.
On the Feguson going to the rotten mob, I wouldn't worry about that. Can't see Aberdeen allowing hm to run his contract down for 3 years to allow them to carry on their signing policy of getting players for nowt on pre-contracts.

Just read that Francisco 'Paco' Gento passed away at the grand age of 88.

As many 9f you will may know he was a Real Madrid great and amongst the plethora of trophies he won during his 18yrs with the club, he's the only player to have won the big cup 6 times.

Benkovic has been released by Leicester City.

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

1.) 12 Jan 2022 21:47:39
Not another sick note and his performances in big games let him down.

2.) 13 Jan 2022 00:07:16
Released for good reason. Time to move forward and forget the Benkos and Roberts ?.

3.) 13 Jan 2022 07:56:33
Haven't seen him since back then, but always thought he was a great passer. Wouldn't mind him coming back if Ange sanctioned it.

4.) 13 Jan 2022 08:02:23
Robert's is signing Sunderland apparently. he's not done great anywhere since leaving us. It's a shame his potential was huge. Could have been different if we got him on a permanent deal.

5.) 13 Jan 2022 00:41:51
They are not good enough now. Ange is taking us to a different level. thanks but NO.

I read one story last week but have seen nothing since.

Soro is one of a few players who's careers (if they want a game) would benefit from a move away from CP.

I genuinely haven't heard of him but then again, I haven't heard of the majority of players in lower leagues.

If signed he could be a revelation at 1.5M or another failed project ?

Coming from MK Dons this will be quite a step up, good luck to him if he signs.

JFP, I've read one story suggesting Calmac could be out for between 4-7 games but I'd imagine this will be dependent on the operation as well as him possibly wearing a protective mask on his return.

We'll hopefully find out more from Ange's next press conference.

Totally agree BigBubs, 3-5-2 all the way, BuzzBomb called it a while ago, it would enable us to take more of the chances we create and finish teams off quicker.

The opposition defence have had it too easy, with two forwards to manage in a game it means twice the concentration, twice the effort/ work rate and personally I think the vast majority of teams would struggle with that.

Agree with that Pod1, always. As a result of the call ups for the Japan national team we only have Giorgious to play upfront.

He needs game time, no doubt about that, but at the same time if he ends up injured prior to the Heart's and Sevco game the league could be over before Kyogo and Maeda arrive at the check in desk for the flight back.

As you rightly say, it's Anges job to make these calls- that's what he gets paid for.

The priority is the League and with only one recognised striker available in the coming weeks, personally I wouldn't risk Giorgious nevermind on a plastic pitch.
