Kyogo's agent continues to try and engineer a move, Celtic have set their price and have told his agent that the price is higher if Spurs decide to make a move.}

So the solution to getting done at the back post due to greg being 5ft 9 is to find another 5ft 9 left back. thatll tick all the boxes?.
{Ed007's Note - The solution to that is have better CBs in the air and a GK that will command his box better and come off his line for the box.
There's 4 players involved in that weakness before the ball reaches the back post, the RB for allowing the cross to come in, the 2 CBs who neither track the ball or get into a position to attack it and the GK not commanding his area, especially the 6 yard box.

Some fans are hard to please. A 25yr old with 11 caps for a top dutch side and over 150 apps in a very good league. Cost Ajax £12m at one time. May have lost his way there but a lot of players have at ajax in the last couple of seasons as they have been way off by their standard.

IMO right back was worse than left back in terms of a poorly played position last season, lcb as good as scales was I think he was good compared to himself and took us all by surprise, scales as our ball carrier out defence our aerial commander or last line defence against a break wasn’t up to the quality we need and it showed, Greg Taylor needs competition, and needs rested at times, im not convinced by the i opinion it’s a problem area and needs replaced, a loan to buy player would be good shout with Taylor’s contract s.

He has played 11 times for his country so is no mug. Definitely the quality we should be looking at and at 4-5 million a bargain.
We now have keeper who commands his box but need a quality LCB to support CCV and O'Shea is the one for me. Well worth 7 million if that's the price. Better on the ball than Scales who kills any momentum we have going forward and very uncomfortable against the high press.
Those 2 and Engel will be a very good window, so only another 15-20 million to spend ?.

Agree with you Mally, I'm not Greg's biggest fan but he's played more than well enough over the past 3 seasons to earn a new deal.
We need someone in to push him and/ or replace him.

{Ed007's Note - There's no doubt the lad has great natural talent/ability - he came through Clairefontaine, the French FAs School of Excellence - but he is a bit rough round the edges and tactically naive at the top (Pub League) level although he done well out on loan at Birmingham where he "broke all sorts of records for distance covered & all that stuff" according to their manager John Eustace.

IF MOR and Kyogo are sold, our board will have amassed in excess of £70M if reported figures are accurate.
By any standard in the history of Scottish football, these amounts are unheard of, and, at the same time, do not include either the money already in the bank (£100M+ or the incoming CL money (£30M+) .
So why have we not signed a LB, LCB, MF and forward?

Read an article on the MLS that stated the average salary is $594K (dollars) per annum.
Based on the current exchange rate, if my maths is correct, that works out at just under £9K (pounds) per week.

A quick question on MOR, if I may?
Are you aware if Celtic have communicated the transfer fee we're looking to receive for MOR and of so, what is that number?
It seems very odd to me that Atalanta and now Southampton have had 'bids' in the region of £14M (obviously rejected) for the player when it's been muted we're looking for a club record fee, which I'd presume is north of £25M?
There's also talk that Liverpool ate watching this situation, have you heard anything on that?

I was reading that the new Liverpool manager is very keen on signing Frimpong from Leverkusan.
The 40M Euro clause in his contract apparently expires in a matter of days so we may see a transfer happening shortly.
Whatever the transfer amount, the sell on fee should mean a good few quid for Celtic.

We need 6 midfielders for the season. At the moment we have:
MOR, hatate, Callum, iwata, Bernardo? Holm, Lawal (I think he will go on loan) , McCarthy (I hope he goes on loan or is sold) , Kelly ( think he will be sold) .
Based on that I see Bernardo as a squad player or competition for hatate (I may be wrong) and I would expect a higher calibre signing to replace MOR when he leaves.

Weejoe, I prefer Celtic to buy a player that Brendan sees development and improvement in, when we buy this type of player like when we bought Mo’R,
BR can improve his work rate and knowledge of the role he wants him to play . within the first half season we have a player who has become very important to us . It’s all down ro our recruitment team finding a number of young players for position and manager and coaches picking out the most likely player they can work on and improve. No matter how good a calibre of player we sign, it won’t work out for us unless the player is willing to adopt to and work hard at areas of game BR wants . Some higher calibre player may feel they know it all and have. more than enough skills to star in SPL . This type player will probably not help us much.

Bernardo has the potential to be a very good player. He is not near orileys class yet and i hope we aren't bringing him in as a like for like.
We need another creative MF and a quality DM as well as bernardo
Bernardos style reminds me of stan petrovs, good hard working box to box midfielder, not afraid to get stuck in and chips in with goal contibutions.
Bernardo has potential to be a top player and isn't portugal u21 captain for nothing.
For the said £4-5m being talked about will be a steal.

No two players have identical skills and when u sell your best player, u can be certain that we will buy an. inferior player as he is likely to be a young player that BR expects to coach and develop into another fine midfielder who may in time reach the standard of the sold star . Even if he doesn’t reach that level BR will hope that he will have some areas of his game that he might match or surpass the sold star . He could be a better dead ball artist, or a harder worker and hopefully fits into team and adds to it.

I take your points on both Scales and Taylor the only caveat being;- at domestic level.
Neither, IMO, have the technical ability or footballing IQ to manage at Europa League level let alone CL level and I fear both will be exposed again in the coming months - time will tell.
Unfortunately, despite being in the last week of this summer transfer window, we're still short at CB given Lagerbielke is likely to leave (but unfancied anyway) , Nawrocki is injured and Welsh, well, he's an empty jersey.

We've known for the past two seasons that Bernabei wasn't the answer and a LB was required to at least push GT for the jersey.
Bernabei is out on loan, GT has something like 9 months of his contract to run and we're still unable to sign a LB capable of replacing Taylor.
Instead it appears we've got a loan from Barca, in the last week of the window with no option to buy?
Whoever we have in our 'recruitment' team shouls be sacked on the back of this window alone, nevermind the two previous windows.
