When is the window open until to register free transfers? I see they are linked with wee sicknote jack. But if you look at the names available for free, a couple would be worth a punt.

1.) 07 Oct 2020 11:46:52
I am sure you can sign players out of contract at anytime as the same rules do not apply.

2.) 07 Oct 2020 12:20:36
Sicknote Jack reminds me of the type of player we have in Calmac. I know who I'd rather have - a player who played 69 games in one season, a Celtic man through and through and an absolutely vital member of our squad.

3.) 07 Oct 2020 15:12:58
Cal Mac is a marvellous creature runs all day and very seldom injured u can tell the boy looks after himself . Also heard brown and tierney talk about him saying the professionalism with Callum is different level.

Has anyone watched the David Turnbull comeback video? It gives a good insight into what the Lad has been through. I hope he comes back stronger than ever! From winning the lottery and losing the ticket first time around to finally coming back and earning a move to Celtic. Would love to see him in a Celtic jersey, has the right temperament I think.

Does anyone else have the overwhelming feeling we as supporters are being cheated by our club. The board wait until the very day we are celebrating the treble treble to announce a manager the majority of fans don't wish, making it impossible to receive the backlash, without stating he just won us the treble.
Then there is the signing policy, the leaked document showing an array of players which resources were apparently applied to scouting. Aribo-rangers, Harper-west Brom, etc etc. Are we meant to believe we didn't have the financial capability to sign these guys ahead of those teams?
I think we are being arrogant thinking the current squad will breeze the league, I think they are treating the fans like idiots. The signings, with the exception of Jullien (who I can't comment on) appear below the required standard. First time posting so hope I've done it right.

1.) 30 Jul 2019 11:55:50
No you haven't done it right. with an attitude like that you will get slaughtered on here😆😆.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 12:08:16
DavieBhoy07 I think you are right, I get the feeling we need to sell a big player before lawell will release any more funds its the same every season. We wait till the last minute and hope for the best. I keep hearing wait till the English transfer window closes. Yeah and then we get the dregs. Our business should have been done ages ago and when Neil refused to say who this rb was that they were chasing and then it feel through makes me think who is running the show.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 12:45:41
Maybe they'll sell Tierney 🤣let's wait till the end of August and then we can have a go if you bhoys are right. Personally I think we'll bring i a couple of decent signings.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 13:30:59
So far we have spent around 12m we also had 3m accepted for Turnbull and 4m for smith. You moan about Lenny’s appointment who else is out there that knows what next two season mean to so many! 12m is massive for up here and I am confident more will come.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 13:46:16
Does anyone think that we scouted guys like Aribo and deemed them not good enough?

6.) 30 Jul 2019 13:52:34
Garbage rumours get the fickle fans and panty wetter's all upset. 😭😭.

7.) 30 Jul 2019 14:12:49
We are a big club, over the past number of years we have brought in a vast amount of money on player sales. We have only seen a fraction of that reinvested in the playing squad. I understand the outlay on Edouard is big, but it’s an investment, the 9 million could be recouped tomorrow. We should be aiming to buy this type of player, a player a level above our rivals could afford or attract. I feel that’s our level and should be our aim. The signings we are making aren’t outstanding or other teams would be attracted by the low fee. I think we deserve investment, and excitement. Pavlovic, scouted by Juventus etc only 18, players like this will bring the buzz rather than players who we don’t even know what position rb/ cb from Hapoel.
I just think it’s time to step things up, take a risk, be ambitious. Not reserved making sure we can build a hotel, we don’t put the players on the park to win and excite, nobody will come to stay in it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

8.) 30 Jul 2019 14:29:11
Celtic never spend big why would this summer be any different. Lennon won't rock the boat perfect manager for Lawell.

9.) 30 Jul 2019 14:37:04
3 quality additions plus maybe a loan prospect and we will be stronger than last season. Keep the faith and Hail Hail🍀.

10.) 30 Jul 2019 15:14:24
So Rodgers was not the perfect manager total bollicks.

11.) 30 Jul 2019 15:23:31
Personally I hope the manager and players don't come on to this site and read what we write. Life experience has taught me that if I don't know something I ask advice of competent people. No one wll convince me that Lawwell is not competent in hisjob. He is a shrewd businessman. I have no idea what is the income and expenditure at a club like Celtic But I would imagine that there is quite a lot of expenditure over and above players wages . I wonder does anyone know what percentage of expenditure is player wages? The books have to balance if you are running a business well.
Celtic can attract young talent because they know that they will get good coaching and have to break into the first team and play in Europe etc at an early age. If you think of some of our loan players over the last few years, good players who we could not afford to buy and yet couldn't get a look in in their hme teams. I can't imagine an established older, good, player wanting to come to us unless it is a stepping stone to England and whilst perhaps they play in a better league they are in mid table teams and knw that if they come to Celtic they will win something and get a chance to ply in Europe and be noticed. Sometimes I get the impression that some on here have studied economics along with Sir David Murray. I TRUST PL and NL and I have seen nothing coming out of ibrox to worry me even with the squad we havee now.

12.) 30 Jul 2019 15:39:57
Davie bear in mind mate the new parks the millions wee pump into our youth set up and stuff mate I also want more done though in the transfer market but will bind my time a quality rb and midfielder are a must.

13.) 30 Jul 2019 16:27:34
True, I take your opinions on board. Would just have expected an affordable right back, midfielder and maybe forward to have been identified, scouted, agents sounded out well in advance, 1st 2nd and 3rd choice for each position.

14.) 30 Jul 2019 16:28:41
People on here seem to think that the only money that leaves the club is what we spend on transfers.
No one seems to take in to account wages
Council tax
Ect ect ect.

15.) 30 Jul 2019 16:51:53
My sentiments adzactly Kev I do wreckin wee could do more at times tho.

16.) 30 Jul 2019 16:59:12
No Kev83, I’m not daft. Everyone knows these things. But that aside, we are investing in other areas other than the playing staff. Do you think people like Chris Sutton don’t understand the expenditure of a club. He still suggested we needed a complete rebuild. I don’t think
Outs: Izaguirre, Gambia Boyata Lustig mulumbu compper de vries toljan weah burke benkovic
Ins: jullien bolingoli Elhamed Connell
Is exactly what he or others had in mind when the champions league qualifiers started. It’s a place for people’s opinions, and others should respect that opinions differ, that doesn’t make people stupid or naive. We all have one aim in mind! A successful season ahead! Hail hail 🍀.

17.) 30 Jul 2019 17:30:32
People on here seem to think that the only money that comes into the club is from transfers.
No one seems to take in to account season book
New balance deal
European payments
European ticket sales
Ect ect ect.

18.) 30 Jul 2019 17:35:48
I'm sure I read something a few weeks back that our wages to income ratio was about 55% and our total turnover is around 100m

We are a well run club and don't rely on Champions league football to balance the books, while we may not like it we may have to sell some assets now and again.

19.) 30 Jul 2019 19:02:25
Anyone using Sutton as a reference loses an argument start away.
The guy is a shock jock that has NO CLUE on finances or how to run a club.
He can even run his own account without going bankrupt.
Sutton plays to the masses.

If we ain't spending the money that comes in why don't we have 100s of millions in the bank? Instead of just under 30 million at last count?

20.) 30 Jul 2019 19:48:53
Glad we have 30 million in the bank. We are guaranteed the gas and electricity bills will get paid.

21.) 30 Jul 2019 20:03:28
DRA should we not have money in the bank?
Should we rip through it and not give a flying feck about what might be round corner?
Should we just spend spend spend?

22.) 30 Jul 2019 21:19:37
What are we keeping it for. Getting 9/ 10 is the holy grail for the support. Not completely wrote this transfer window but history points to usual outcome. Time will tell.

23.) 31 Jul 2019 08:40:23
Daviebhoy I totally agree, we should feel cheated Celtic wouldn’t pay the money for McGinn and he ended up going to villa for 2.7m but Peter Lawell nets a New Year’s Eve bonus of 2.3 million something’s not right their lol.

24.) 01 Aug 2019 23:26:22
I am not sure P Lawwell earned his bonus, whatever amount, certainly less than £2.3 m, and it wasn’t signed because John Mc Ginn wasn’t signed.

Or start harper if the other two aren’t fit enough! He made a rod for his own back with his outburst, now it would be obvious who he was talking about if he dropped them. And would be admitting he was wrong if he played the forwards!

Thanks for the insight. It’s a complicated game, and shows why leaving it close to deadline is asking for trouble.

{Ed002's Note - It gets more difficult Davie.}

I hadn’t heard that story, makes me want to sign him more now! My point was you can watch a player a couple of times and know he is up to the job. We watched these players we signed and did all the background, maybe Klimala said his prayers every night, remembered the right days for putting the bin out. but he is hopeless and runs around like a rockstar playing at soccer aid. I also don’t think Dubai was wrong. We done it every year, and if it was wrong the govt wouldn’t have let us go. The world is just full of snowflakes and people wanting to jump on others failures. That’s why I think it was important to give Lennon time and respect, but I can’t see anything good to come out of this season, so maybe a change to let someone assess the squad before the rebuild.

I’ve been on the list, after giving up my ticket due to work commitments a few years back, but I’ve now got a new job that would allow me to attend a majority of games. But if given the chance now, I wouldn’t take it up, and I’m sure the majority of the 10K would feel the same. I have watched my fellow fans be cheated out of money this year. I have watched them give hard earned money for nothing, and be treated with contempt by our club for having an opinion. The time has come to make the change. Although the problem is, I don’t think we have a plan b. I don’t think we had our finger on the pulse of what the direction would be after BR so we gave it to Lennon. And again, we are devoid of ideas now. The footballing plan is so poor, the transfer policy is so poor. When BR was here there appeared to be a bit of direction in terms of signings. That can be seen with James Justin, Timothy Castagne. Both scouted by us and acted upon by BR soon as he was in the door at Leicester. One game watching Klimala, watching Ajeti watching Barkas. I could tell they weren’t up to task. Surely there is still a place for old fashioned scouting without in-depth statistics analysis. Right now I’d take Gallagher, Nisbet because after seeing them perform you know exactly what you’ll get. And at a minimum they will turn out a 100% shift week in week out for the jersey it should be an honour to pull on.

{Ed007's Note - So while we've got fans going on about the "morally wrong" trip to Dubai other fans want us to sign a very average footballer who done time for assaulting someone to their severe injury and danger of life with a baseball bat.
I expect that MoralityCSC will have a lot to say about the potential of Gallagher signing for us - but I won't hold my breath.}

I’m sure Welsh is in the picture in the bar so I’m sure he went.

I thought that. Gov guidelines say you need to isolate as there isn’t enough research done to say how long your immunity lasts etc.

We all seen the pictures of them “relaxing” Lennon and brown by the pool, the lads in the bar aswell. Let our guard down, actually left our guard in Scotland and now paying the price for it. I don’t think the pictures in the press were the only two times they didn’t follow the rules, a team dinner for example, in a private room, that would be enough to wipe them all out. It’s just a disgrace, I know it will be Lennon and Lawell who take the brunt of it, but where are the medical team, the travel organiser. Just a horrible decision to go in this current climate, opened ourselves up to it. That being said, if the other members of the squad can fill positions, and the likes of Dembele, oko flex, Harper and Henderson step up we still stand a chance and it’s forced us to give youth a chance. If we work it out, if Julian has it I’d say, Edouard, Ntcham are certainly out.
