Do you know anything about this meeting Lawwell had with the UEFA guys yesterday? I wonder what that was all about?

TheBhoyWander

1.) 16 Feb 2019 08:54:23
Probably a lot less sinister than you would like it to be.
We were beaten.
End of. HH.

2.) 16 Feb 2019 13:55:07
I'm not sure I get what you mean by "as sinister as I would hope". I haven't thought anything sinister about it. More hopeful that they may have been discussing some sort of new European competition, with us being involved, or something similar. Nothing sinister.

3.) 16 Feb 2019 18:33:43
Maybe about hosting a final.

4.) 16 Feb 2019 23:30:57
Ah yeah, that's a possibility I hadn't thought about. That'd be great for the club if it was that.

Just read an article there about how subbutteo is making a come back and gaining popularity again since lock down. I haven't heard of it for years but as a teenager in the 90s, I absolutely loved the game, and even played in a league. A big part of the hobby for me was building the stadium. In my loft was a pretty decent replica of the original Celtic Park, that I was very proud of. I spent all my paper round money on that stadium and spent hours painting crowds members etc. Just wondered if anyone else on the site was a subbutteo nutter back in the days too? And did anyone else build a replica parkhead? Cool game, I might get another set.

TheBhoyWander

{Ed007's Note - I've got and old version up the stairs.}

1.) 27 Nov 2021 23:26:24
I got one of the first sets for Christmas in the 60's with the 'flat' players on the heavy bases and went on to collect a lobby press full of teams, pitches and accessories. Great game back in the day and I'm sorry I never kept any of the original gear as it must be valuable?

{Ed007's Note - I can remember in a comic. Roy of the Rovers?- that was like wee snobby private school kids playing in a league. Subbuteo was amazing till computer games were invented.}

2.) 28 Nov 2021 03:58:50
I was never really into subbueto wheni was a wean but when you seen your pals had celtic players you wanted it. The hoops were a standout from the rest. Just dreamt you'd wear them one day for real.

3.) 28 Nov 2021 00:41:15
Nice one Ed, get it dusted off. You're right, it was killed when ISS and FIFA came out on consoles. I became distracted myself and my paper round money started going to N64 and PS1 games. I'm going to get another set though. Maybe get my young lad into it and away from his consoles. @ONCEABHOY, I've never seen those but just looked them up. Before my time but very cool. It's easy to see why people got so into collecting the stuff. I had every team set from Italia 90, for example.

{Ed007's Note - You're just making me feel old now lol I'm talking about ZX Spectrum & Commodore 64 days with Match of The Day and Kick-Off then Sensible Soccer on the Amiga.}

4.) 28 Nov 2021 11:21:04
Sensible soccer is amazing ed. Loved that game.

{Ed007's Note - ?????

5.) 28 Nov 2021 12:05:58
Now your talking Ed, but swos was the balls.

{Ed007's Note - ??

6.) 28 Nov 2021 12:58:50
I cut my gaming teeth on those same machines Ed. My first football game addiction was Football Manager of the year 2 on spectrum. I stayed up many nights coring that game, then would go to school with an hours sleep. and do it again the next night. Always been terrible for manager games, so now I just don't play them at all. Too old for all nighters now.

{Ed007's Note - Football manager games cost me a few sleepless nights as well but I was a complete Elite - the space flying/trading game - nerd and had loads of A4 pads of notes etc.}

7.) 28 Nov 2021 14:15:14
Yup I was that same nerd, Ed. Pages and pages of notes, and many many hours spent trawling through them. The last manager game I played before my self imposed ban, was FM2016 and I have a Celtic game saved on it that was into season 2049. Anyone who has ever played one season on FM knows the hours involved, so to play 33 seasons on one save was just ridiculous. I really had to stop playing, but I miss it.

{Ed007's Note - They were the days, sitting there eating cereal out a casserole dish at half 3 in the morning ?

8.) 28 Nov 2021 17:34:57
More addictive than crack.

17 Jul 2020 14:08:26
So Neil Lennon himself has said what the craic is with Griffiths. Straight from the horses mouth. he's let himself and the team down, and Lennon is clearly not happy. Still going to blame the media Ed?

TheBhoyWander

{Ed007's Note - Learn to read moron.}

1.) 17 Jul 2020 15:12:03
Ooh ed you got a sore heed mate 🤣.

{Ed007's Note - Nah man but if idiots would read the pages before trying to be a smart ar$e. And at no point did I blame the media which shows the moron didn't even read what I said which was LG was injured - didn't NL say last night that LG had been picking up injuries?}

2.) 17 Jul 2020 15:40:17
ED007 you have to take circumstances into consideration TBW posts mainly on the Sevco pages so gets his "facts" from there, even though he claims to be a Tim.
As you know I am not Griffiths biggest fan off the field, but I gave him some leeway because of his mental health problems, but someone with depression should stay well clear of any online stuff as a good many are just going to attack and try and destroy him.
Leigh just concentrate on your fitness and come offline.

{Ed007's Note - Ah right, that explains a lot lol cheers for the heads up.
I never wanted us to sign LG and was very vocal about it at the time but I'll always support our players, even the ones I don't like. He's always been a poor trainer and had an attitude problem, looking back is that maybe why Rodgers never really fancied him.}

3.) 17 Jul 2020 15:42:14
Bang on ed he did and that's how he's getting injured if he's not fit.

4.) 17 Jul 2020 17:32:15
He'll look back at this when his career is over and wish he had wised up in his peak years, he's wasted the last few years. Maybe his bad attitude led to his depression.

Social media is rather delicious today. Allegations of match fixing and suggestions that we bribed St mirren to lie down. Hahaha. Just because we can do what real title contenders do and skelp the wee teams while they struggle against them. Must be skullduggery, definitely isn't because they're dog mince and we're relentless. no no couldn't be that, must be match fixing. Hahaha.

TheBhoyWander

1.) 08 Mar 2020 12:16:23
Did we also bribe at Johnston Killie Aberdeen Hamilton and hearts twice to up their game against sevco 🤔🤭😂😂😂.

2.) 08 Mar 2020 12:31:24
Their players threw the game at home to Hamilton in midweek because they want Gerrard sacked😂😂.

3.) 08 Mar 2020 15:19:37
How much of a bribe did the SFA/ SPFL take to allow Sevco a license?

4.) 08 Mar 2020 20:57:45
malkybhoy
Get Sam Allardyce or Martin Jol in - they're more timid than Slippy and might have a more forgiving boot to toe-end them.

04 Mar 2020 15:04:36
So wonder kid Billy Gilmour left Sevco as he didn't feel up to playing against Scott Brown as "he is by far the best midfielder in Scotland". I thought they said it was for financial reasons but here you have it from the horses mouth. Delicious.

The boys a decent player and saw the light but seriously he's a good player.

2.) 04 Mar 2020 16:28:24
Yeah he certainly looks to have a bright future ahead of him, Mally It could have been so different too if he'd stayed at the San Giro. Obviously he's well advised. Good luck to him.

3.) 04 Mar 2020 16:50:20
Didn't look out of place in that team.

4.) 04 Mar 2020 17:01:09
Ma mate used to coach the boy and used to rave about him and there was a point we nearly got him. but there you go.

5.) 04 Mar 2020 17:34:27
I have had a great day at work telling all the sevco fans " if only you had kept him what would he worth now" .

01 Mar 2020 17:04:07
Well that was nerve wracking for a while there. Glad we were able to turn it up a notch and get the job done on what was a terrible playing surface. Good result.

The weather, pitch and a huge downer on Thursday; but The Bhoys held it together and got the important win - into the semi-final.
It was a tough game and although Saints were much better organized than in our previous games, we still dominated and created plenty.
Missed chances have been an issue for a while and that will sort itself out when everything clicks back into place - no mistake.
We have now won 34 cup-ties in a row no matter how we have played and that is an absolutely amazing achievement in itself.
However, if any other team on the planet was going for a record quadruple treble (one of them totally invincible) in 3 tournaments) , they would be making documentaries, penning lyrics for songs and negotiating 'movie rights'.
Like Big Billy said;'There is a Fairy Tale about this club'.

2.) 01 Mar 2020 17:38:46
I didn't see the match but after Thursday's disappointment I was delighted with the result
By the sound of it the pitch was terrible so the result was all that mattered.

3.) 01 Mar 2020 18:05:47
St. johnstone's pitch was a shocker should be planting totties in it not trying to play football huge leveler I thought.

Just got in and heard this. So sad to lose another true legend. Bertien as always been a favourite of mine. I've had the pleasure and honour to have met the man on a couple of occasions. A real people's man who always had time for his many fans. We'll always remember the time he took with my daughter to make her first day at paradise so special. She's not even that into celtic or football nowadays, but she'll gladly tell anyone she meets about her time with Bertie that day. So sad to get this news, but happy that he is now in the care of our Lord and also happy for everything he gave the world in his lifetime. RIP Bertie. A true Celtic Legend!

@marco, to be fair to Eddie he has been much better these last couple of appearances and he looks like he is certainly trying more. Whether that is just putting himself in the shop window trying for a move or genuinely buying into the managers ways with a view to staying, I don't know, but he has been better. If he goes then I won't be losing any sleep over it, but if he stays and continues to improve then I'll be happy to have a player like him in the squad. On his day he is a superb footballer.

I hope so. I've wanted it to be Roy for a while. I just haven't voiced that opinion much as I know most people think it would be a disaster. I reckon Roy with the right assistants could be a great success. He certainly has some of the qualities we've been missing of late. Go on, shoot me down, I can take it. :)

Well that's true, Marco but surely they could find a better way of using any spare time. I just don't get why someone would spend time and effort doing that. Weirdos.

It's been shown to be fake news. The original video was posted 11 days ago and has been edited. Why some people would even bother to do that is beyond me. Sad lives with too much time on their hands.

If the sevvie board didn't have a reason to not have him there. then NFL should definitely be on their list of candidates. Proven trophy winning track record as a player and manager, knows the Scottish game inside out, can handle the goldfish bowl environment of managing a Glasgow based club. well sort of, and he's out of work so no fee involved for those peasants to she'll out. He's the obvious choice really. They were well chuffed with an unproven U18s coach getting the job, just imagine how elated they'd be if their board were to push the boat right out and bring in an experienced manager with so many trophies to his name. I'm sure they'd relish the chance, and so would Neil?.
