Anyone know have celtic made any approach for Lewis ferguson? Reports are suggesting the other side are looking to sign him. Hope celtic can sign him. Think he would be a great replacement for brown.

Wouldn't think so if the new management team is still up in the air. Would definitely like to see us try for him, Campbell, Doig and Nisbet but they could all go elsewhere for buttons while we muck about.

I kow where you're coming from oldkilly but McMurdo has represented a few Celtic players in the past like Frank McAvennie, John Collins, Joe Miller and some others.

Always hated when McMurdo had our players on his books as quite a few of them had their heads turned away from the club. Suppose that can be said of most agents; always looking shunt and punt to make money?
Our record in recent years with SPL clubs has been very poor when it comes to paying the asking price for the right player at the right time and although he would be an ideal Broony replacement (as was McGinn) , I am not holding my breath.

Me neither OAB2 and to be honest I'm expecting the boat to be pushed out when it comes to funding the new Head Coach to build a squad to compete.
The likes of Ferguson, Campbell and a few mentiond from Hibs, should not start for us as we should have better players in the first 11 IMO.

Did anybody see Alex Ferguson speaking about Rangers Directors asking him about his wife’s religion when he signed. He was very genuine and said he let himself and his wife down and quote ‘should have told them to f**k off’.

I think I read that JFP, well at least he's big enough to come out and say that now - good for him.
I always thought it was funny when Utd were racking up the trophies and it was Alex this and later Sir Alex that, because he managed in England at that time and was regarded by the English pundits as the best 'British' manager until, that is, anyone cared to ask him, and without hesitation he'd say, big Jock was the best there was.

Ter161, so you recon that Ferguson is exactly what we need but that he wouldn’t get a game for them. Does that really make sense? As a Celtic supporter, we should be looking for players that are better than any other squad in Scotland have.

What a total shambles that is. We have gone from a team who dominated and played excellent football and great to watch most of the time to this shocking, side to side slow passing. The players at time don't seem to have a clue what's going on. Why are we crossing aimless balls all day into kaygo? The tactics from the manager are clueless and dare l say it very arrogant. What other manager would come into a team who won a treble and flying and decide to ditch the way they play to his style? I know he was linked with Saudi and l am sorry he didn't go. I never wanted him back and after the games so far my worse fear are coming through. We could get hammered next week by them and god help us in the champions league. If its not broke don't fit it! U arrogant man.

Ter I said something similar at the game . We had the Ange way of playing and it did have some downside at times and when I seen Rodgers coming in I thought great if he sticks with that formula and adds in the little tweaks I thought he would do I really thought we where onto a winner but he seems to have ditched it all and went a complete different direction and you can see at the moment the players don’t have a clue what way there playing and been asked to do . The kyogo experiment coming deep is also not working.

ter im disappointed myself mate but in terms of the question you asked about the manger coming in and changing to his style would be every manager. no new manger comes in and continues to play the style of the former manager they all come in and implement there own style.
every Celtic fan is basically saying this now they are basically telling rodgers to be ange. ange is gone we move on for me this is on the board wee need quality in and they have not done that YET.

BR was a proven success as a Celtic Manager last time around and he did that by bringing in the type of players that suit his style of play and methodology.
This will take time and anyone saying BR should somehow change his thinking to suit the players Ange signed, or even better, just play Angball must be nuts.
There's not a manager worth their salt would do that.

I have seen great Celtic sides, bad Celtic sides and a couple of dreadful Celtic sides. I have seen players in the hoops that could walk into any side in World football.
I say this is to emphasise that I have been around the Celtic block so many times I have actually bumped into myself occasionally.
The astronomical overreaction from a certain cross section of Celtic 'fans' is astonishing and the inverted commas are intentional.
I remember hitching a lift to Aberdeen because I missed our bus and when I reached the beach end we were 3-1 down and lost 4-1, (I think Frank McDougal scored all of them that day) I met my pals and we partied all the way home.
We don't care if we win lose or draw! The entitlement of the modern fans makes me want to claw my eyes out, I have watched the hoops for all my life and some of the best times were the adversity times when we couldn't buy a win.
Sober up, we are in a good position as a club, cash rich, decent squad, top manager.
Celtic and Brendan will get this right, I have absolutely no doubt.
Remember fan is short for fanatic not fanny!

pedro that's what i think rogers is doing playing ange system to try suit the players and keep fans onside. he should just be his own man and the board need to back him ange is the spurs manger hese gone no longer at our club his system and ways left when he did were celtic fc not ange fc.

Charles 67. You should have put that up as a stand alone post. Completely nailed the difference between older fans who have lived through very dark times and some of those who have never experienced anything but Celtic being the dominant force without a real challenge. I still think we are top dogs but the beggars have their tails up and sense blood in next weeks derby. Your point of view sums it up perfectly when it comes to a reality check for some ?.

Have to say l will be gutted and very disappointed if ange does go to spurs which it appears to be the case. For me it just a few steps ahead of Rogers. First sign of the epl and he is gone. He is willing to leave a team in the champions league after winning a treble to go to a mid table side in England not in any competition in Europe?
I also wish he would have just come out and said it after the final that evening. Its not fair to the fans and the club who backed him and gave him everything he wanted. As mark said on the podcast ange was great for celtic but also celtic were great for ange. Its celtic that gave him his chance not anyone else. Something he seems to forget if you ask me.
I also hope that going forward celtic need to stop this 12 month rolling contract if a manager has a good first season. They need to tie them down so if they do leave like this again they get proper compensation.
Sorry to say if ange does go it's for the money and epl. It's making me feel that l am not going to believe much anymore from any celtic manager about giving all the talk about celtic this and cetic that.
Loved anges style of play and the guy won trophies for celtic and than won't be forgotten but he failed in Europe. So if or when as it appears he does go l hope celtic get the new guy in place ASAP and the club moves on.

He cannot be criticised for how he has left the clubuf he goes. We were a mess when he arrived, look at where we are now, so it's up to the board to get someone in who can continue on the path he put us on. Ange has done a great job in under 2 years.

For me Mally l feel a lot of these muscle injuries are down to fitness levels. I just don't think the team is any where near as fit as last year. They look exhausted at time on the pitch and have little or no pace in the way the play.

Mal the whole defence were brutal today. No one seems to be giving AJ or especially CCV critism. They were very poor today especially CCV. How many times did he and scales go for the sane ball. Plus totally at fault for the first goal. And AJ let their wide man cross twice for their second and third with little or no pressure. Got blessed today.

Definitely got away with one today but scales seems to be the main target for people on here. Is CCV above critism? He was ever bit as bad a scales today. At fault for the first goal? AJ let the same guy cross the ball for their 2 goals which any pressure on him. The back line today didn't cover themselves in glory but there was more than scales to blame today. CCV had a nightmare for me.
