Was speaking to someone tonight at mass who is a heavy punter, told me Sean Dyche will be the new manager he has had a decent punt him him weeks ago. I suppose we will have to wait and see just thought I'd pass it on . oldkilly.

That father Morelos is a liar and a cheat Oldkilly 😂.

2.) 18 May 2019 19:53:58
Hope not. He's done well with Burnley especially with that squad but I just think the Celtic job is so different it's hard to tell how well he would hit the ground running.

3.) 18 May 2019 22:02:21
Don’t really think it will be him, just adding his name to the list of many that we have read about. oldkilly.

4.) 18 May 2019 22:30:10
No chance it's him but that would be great coup if it was.

5.) 18 May 2019 22:49:15
These sort of managers get all the plaudits because they are basically the only English one's in the EPL Burnley (ha ha sky TV) have double Celtics wage bill play absolutely brutal football then get hailed as a Messiah for finishing 17th-10th please no. Aberdeen played better football than them.

6.) 18 May 2019 23:35:30
He is a defensive manager kev. I thought that wasn't allowed at Celtic?

7.) 18 May 2019 23:56:04
Look surely it’s clear we get a coach who goes with a set identity of play like Rodgers who has a reasonable standing in the game as we see how novices go in a club our size. Or a coach with a adaptable approach not sure we can get much better than Lennie of that type. I like the idea of a playing identity but don’t like giving a man who stepped in when we were in need should be treated badly.

8.) 19 May 2019 08:25:08
Hail Mary full of. each yous know the rest.

9.) 19 May 2019 10:10:36
I'd be surprised if Burnley's wage bill was double what ours is.

10.) 19 May 2019 11:46:13
Celtic wage bill 59 million, Burnley wage bill 58 million.

Reading this morning that Willy Sagnol wants to become the next Celtic manager. what's people's thoughts on this story. oldkilly.

1.) 18 Apr 2019 11:44:42
Underwhelmed tbh.

2.) 18 Apr 2019 12:09:57
He's got very little managerial experience not for me.

3.) 18 Apr 2019 13:21:51
I’d agree not experienced enough but after the news that we are looking interested in David Wagner and doing a wee bit of research I think this guy would be an excellent appointed and I really hope this happens identical style to klop fast attacking football and he did well with an average Huddersfield side small budget ideal manager if you ask me 🍀.

4.) 18 Apr 2019 15:18:14
I don’t think we are interested in Wagner mate I think you’ve just read my post from last week and taken it as gospel 😂.

5.) 18 Apr 2019 20:02:39
😂 Na didn’t see your post it’s all over the papers and social media so thought their might be something In it and considering he’s out a job definitely wouldn’t surprise me.

6.) 18 Apr 2019 22:03:56
Wagner on paper sounds like a great fit my concern would be on how he left Huddersfield seems like he needed a break from football if he can't handle the pressure at a club like that then would he survive in the madness that will come with being our boss and the added lunacy of the whole of Scotland trying to derail the 10 or am I mistaken did he leave Huddersfield for a different reason I'm sure you guys will know more than me.

7.) 18 Apr 2019 23:07:58
I believe it was mutual consent they were bottom of the league and they decided to part ways I don’t think it had anything to go with needing a break and I don’t think managing celtic would be hard for him he would manage the job I think, at the end of the day we will find out soon enough who it’s going to be but like I said I’ve heard celtic are interested in him there will be others too and time will tell.

8.) 19 Apr 2019 14:05:51
I'm not so sure Chris the pressure that comes at Celtic from the expectation to win is intense enough at a normal time but these next two seasons are going to be amplified ten fold the quote I read from Huddersfield said it was mutual but had been initiated by Wagner who felt he needed a break from the rigours of football but as I said on paper he seems like a good fit for us other wise.

9.) 20 Apr 2019 22:15:36
Wagner is no fit for Celtic. Managing Huddersfield he wasn't used to managing at team winning nearly every match . I don't think that pressure, the hatred of Celtic in the main stream Scottish media and the anti Celtic bias of referees and SFA would probably be too much for him, he certainly never came across anything like it in his Footbal Managing Career.

10.) 22 Apr 2019 09:52:50
What calibre of players would he be able too attract.

11.) 22 Apr 2019 23:16:21
Would rather Bilic over Sagnol.

12.) 27 Apr 2019 21:20:49
I can't say any name I have seen mentioned excites me and makes me feel confident that we will get 9 in a row . I would be surprised if any of the names mention, apart from Lennon's is actually in the running . We were able to get Rodgers because, he was afraid that he was getting too long out of the game and needed to get back into the game, of course he proved it by cutting us adrift in mid stream.

Can anyone remember the last time we had a 3 o'clock kick off in an away league match.

oldkilly

1.) 02 Sep 2019 21:49:16
Away games are always on tv and have been for years👍.

2.) 02 Sep 2019 22:05:54
When Brown scored in injury time at Rugby park, that was a 4 o'clock kick off on a Sunday. A 3 o'clock away game on a Saturday would probably go back a few years.

Hi Ed as rangers are in pot 4 can we be in the same group as them.

{Ed007's Note - No mate, clubs from the same country can't be in the same group.}

People around me today were talking about the huge support Dunfermline had today when I reminded them who was playing tomorrow, then it started fenian bs, you only sing in the Chapel etc could be heard quite clearly for long spells, be interesting to see if there is any mention of it in the press when they are trying to address the sectarian singing at football grounds I won't hold my breath .

What next, a female referee has been appointed to the super cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea, pc gone too far.

oldkilly

1.) 02 Aug 2019 17:41:13
Why? What's wrong with that, if she's good enough then why not referee that game?

2.) 02 Aug 2019 17:48:04
Early contender for most stupid post of the season.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 18:06:04
You are familiar with how bad the male referees are up here? My feckin cat could do a better job. I thought I had been beamed back to the 70’s reading that.

I was waiting for, As long as she’s back for 5 to cook her mans dinner It might not be a problem. :)

4.) 02 Aug 2019 18:29:07
If she's the best referee around right now then why not. If it's a case of shoving diversity down our throats and a better, male referee has missed an opportunity because he's not a woman then it's counterproductive.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 18:42:40
If they're good enough then who cares if they're male, female, transgender, non binary or whatever other genders are coming out of the woodwork. Did you watch the women's World Cup? That's USA team would probably finish 2nd in our league.

6.) 02 Aug 2019 19:25:35
After watching the refs in this country last season and years gone by female refs couldn’t possibly fail refereeing games in the spfl.

7.) 02 Aug 2019 19:43:14
Oldkilly doing a bit of fishing.

8.) 02 Aug 2019 19:46:27
Until there is women playing within the teams then there shouldn't really be a need for a female ref or official. Pandering to the ever offended generation is what's going on here. Im just not havin it, and i don't care who i offend, women have their own version of the game, stick to it. I watched what i could of the womens world cup, and it was utter gash. Im not in the 1970s, i can think for myself. Think some on here have been watching too much Loose Women on telly. If the game was ever to get to the point were players were from both sexes then it would be fine, but its not.

9.) 02 Aug 2019 22:02:54
😂😂😂 couldn't put it better myself.

10.) 02 Aug 2019 22:12:25
Thanks to everyone for their comments on my post re female referee, we are talking about a high profile MENS football match here not some kick about on a public park. I didn’t see much of the women’s World Cup what I didn’t see was any male officials why, because it was the female version of the game and they wouldn’t allow male officials. These players are super fit, faster, and stronger, she may well do ok but as I said it’s a mans game. Im not in any way sexist I couldn’t be with a wife and three daughters, thanks Bhampot for your support.

11.) 02 Aug 2019 22:19:50
But why can't a women ref the mens version just like men do in the womans. Same with coaches, managers etc. doesn't matter, if they are good enough then gender does not matter. Only sexist bigots would say otherwise.

12.) 02 Aug 2019 23:02:53
Well if she is that good get her up to do the Celtic matches please. As some of the refs here are shocking. Best of luck to her in the super cup.

13.) 02 Aug 2019 23:04:02
Ironic thing is she knows more about football than oldkilly and bham😂.

14.) 02 Aug 2019 23:41:44
Corey67, i never said they couldn't do it, im sure they're good at their job. I just think they should stick to the female version of the game. I don't think men should be reffing their games either. Women should be taking the lead in their own game, refs, coaches, the whole shootin match. I fail to see what's sexist or bigoted about that. Its a straight no BS opinion. The only thing iv learned from this thread is that there's a lot of our fans under the thumb at home 😂.

15.) 03 Aug 2019 00:11:07
bhampot do you think then that woman shouldn't fly planes or fight in the army. we live in a diverse world now and if you look around celtic park am sure you will see thousands of females. do you want us to hunt them to go watch womans football as its only big boys who watch the men. away you dae yir dishes afore she comes home and sets about you.

16.) 03 Aug 2019 07:12:34
Not under the thumb just in the 21st century. Why do men have to stick to the mens game and women to the women's game. Makes no sense. Rules are the same. Frankly we can't exactly be picky going by the standard in Scotland so if they are good enough get them in.

17.) 03 Aug 2019 08:57:14
Bit of a tangent there robroy. So im assuming most on this thread would be happy for our next manager to be a woman? Honestly where do we draw the line. let's keep the genders seperate in our game its bad enough that our schools are telling kids u can be any gender u want.

18.) 03 Aug 2019 09:27:48
No robroy, get off the bandwagon. Women don't fly seperatly from men do they, no, that would be silly. As for the Army, i served with a few good female soldiers, 1 or 2 where exceptional, but, being an army, you could only use the exceptional female soldiers on the front line otherwise you would weaken your forces, that's just a biological fact that no amount of diversity campaigning can do anything about. Women and men are free to choose whichever version of the game they want to spend their hard earned money on too, more spend it on the Mens game because for now its a better product. Women have their very own game, their own leagues, their own associations, officials etc. Its fine to mix it up a bit at a lower level, but not for me at the pinnicle of the game. You also are implying in your post that im sexist and maybe a bit old fashioned, thankfully im not easily offended eh. Bit judgemental of you is it not? . Have you started your campaign to get the womens grand slams in tennis played over 5 sets like the men yet?, after all, they get the same prize pot, it would only be fair right? . Is it right for anyone, no matter the sex, gets the same wage for half the work? Too many people just towing the party line and are fearful of upsetting the snowflakes. Mens Football is played by Men, Womens Football is played by women, its only right that they coach and officiate it themselves. Its upto free thinking people which they go choose to pay and watch.

19.) 03 Aug 2019 10:52:52
I would have no issue with a women being manager. However they would of course need to earn it in the mens game first. Style of play speed, power and quality is different level atm. If a women went and managed there way up like the men have too what's the issue? Again quality of officials and football in Scotland isn't the best and if women can come in to the game and improve it why not?

20.) 03 Aug 2019 11:50:09
Thats your opinion Corey67, that's fair enough. Il respectfully disagree, But its not for me, and im no sexist or bigot. Some things are better left as is, the minute football becomes completely mixed its the biginning of the end for me. It would not be the same game. Thankfully i think il be long gone by the time it happened.

With the transfer window barely a week closed and would appear to be a satisfactory
one and a terrific victory at ibrox, we have fans on hoping Celtic are looking for a replacement for Edouard as he will be punted shortly. If Peter Lawwell came out and said the same fans would be crucifying him the man just can’t win with certain fans, for goodness sake can’t we just enjoy the success we have without all the nonsense.

When you look at what Sheffield United, Brighton and Bournemouth have paid in transfer fees £20m, £20m and £14m that’s what we are up against and none of those players are quality. We just can’t compete with that level of spending, and those teams are the ones who will probably be fighting relegation. The premier, league will always be the attraction for any decent player with the wages that are on offer, as I said in an earlier post some days ago Smith from Huddersfield chose Stoke over us and champions league football rather than play in a Mickey Mouse league.

Magicpole to suggest Bolingoli feigned an illness to get substituted is a100% shocking statement. You are correct that quality cost money, but that quality won’t come to Scotland, we play in a third rate league that no one gives a second look at and that will be always be the case. You only have to look at the salaries the English Championship pay to see what we are competing against. Last season three spfl players went to Salford, Scunthorpe and Exeter because they were trebling their wages, that says it all. Tommy Smith chose Stoke over us rather than play CL, why because it’s a better league, it’s so difficult for Celtic to attract what we the fans would like to see, when the window closes then is time to criticise if we don’t get the players required for certain positions.

Mally since the victory at ibrox the negativity towards Celtic in the media is one of immense HURT and still is to this day. The continuous rolling out of former (EBT) players is nothing short of embarrassing and desperation. Everyone of them, reporters, ex players and fans thought all they had to do was turn up. It’s probably the most satisfying win against them because of the hype in the build up to the game for me in a long time long may it continue.
