Rumours saying Jon Moss taking over as head of refs.
What are Sevco going to do with someone who isn't a season ticket holder taking over.

1.) 03 May 2024 09:13:27
Lets not forget the OO and Masons go a long way, won't count my chickens just yet ?.

2.) 03 May 2024 11:54:05
I would welcome that appointment.
Better than Bobby Madden or Andrew Dallas.

3.) 06 May 2024 18:38:20
They can’t give it to Andrew Dallas as even the SFA couldn’t except an “X” as signature on important papers concerning the Head Scottish Referees.

26 Apr 2024 10:51:24
I don't know how true this is as i don't use a lot of social media
and wanted to ask if anyone has read or heard anything on this, i was Listening to a podcast and they were saying that Brendan had attended a get together with certain season ticket holders and supposedly this has came from 2 separate people that attended the get together.
Brendan was mentioning the signing policy.
What they said was that Brendan had been told by Calmac and Nicolson that the signing policy had changed and a lot of the signings were at very advanced stage and that he had trusted what he was told and gave the OK to the Yang, Lager and Rocky signings.
The also mentioned that Brendan has been given more control of all Football matters and that the "only sign player under 23 and under £3m" has been scrapped and we are looking at players in the £5-£6m bracket. I know it's not a major jump but we did get Jota and CCV for £6m and if we get 4 or 5 players of that quality, it would make a big difference to our squad
As I said I haven't read anything else on this so maybe someone else can confirm.

1.) 26 Apr 2024 19:41:43
Jonbhoy 71 . I have no doubt that your post is accurate and plans are afoot to sign some players at a slightly higher price than recently . What I don’t expect is Celtic. Football club to really embark on a spending spree and spend about £40 on 7/ 8 players in the summer window . Maybe a bit over half of that on about
4/ 5 players .
Why I think our spending will be nearer £20m is that we have removed M L and his sidekick and not replaced them and we are now in last week of April .
If we are going to spend high with these positions vacant, then why would we fill them in future .
Nothing to do with your post Jonbhoy71 but I think just like the past few years there has been far too many posts between windows linking us with far too many players that are valued far exceeding our normal price range . These posts give us inflated expectations of what we can expect to buy during window and our disappointment is all the greater when we come up far short.

{Ed007's Note - I've also heard and read that Rodgers told the investors meeting that Palma doesn’t fit into his system or his style of play and doesn’t really have the skill-set he looks for in a wide player.
Lagerbielke has never impressed in training and that Nawrocki - who was actually only brought in as a squad player to back-up CCV & Starfelt - is never fully fit, no matter what the coaches do with him.}

2.) 26 Apr 2024 23:21:02
Wee des.
Like I said, I hadn't heard or read anything regarding my post before and just listened to a podcast today where they were discussing it.
If you want to listen for yourself its from (ACSOM - The big decisions facing Brendan Rodgers ahead of trip to Dundee) .
You can get it on youtube. They said on the podcast that 2 sperate people who attended the meeting put the details on Whatsapp and other platforms
Going from ED's comments regarding the investors meeting, It sounds like the same meeting they guys on the podcast were discussing.
I also never mentioned spending £40+m 7/ 8 players in my post, I did say IF we get 4 or 5 in the £5-6m bracket it would make a huge diffrence.
Also, maybe the reason Baby Lawwel and his sidekick hasn't been replaced yet is because as my post does say, Rogers has been given assurences that HE has been given more control of ALL football matters.

{Ed007's Note - I was thinking about this earlier, Jon, could it be that our future Head of Recruitment and his team, maybe a DOF or Sporting Director be at another club that don't want them to leave until the end of the season or contractually they can't leave until then?
They could still be working on deals for Celtic and hopefully we are already at the talking to agent stage of at least some deals that Rodgers wants done which won't need any 3rd party input.}

3.) 26 Apr 2024 23:27:14
Cheers ED for the confirmation of the meeting.

{Ed007's Note - ??

4.) 27 Apr 2024 11:42:17
Hopefully there is some substance to this rumour but we hear this every window and nothing really changes.

5.) 27 Apr 2024 10:32:29
Ed if we have not identified the players for the summer, sounded them out and tried to initiate talks then we are due to repeat the previous two windows.

I expect a goal keeper, striker, winger and left back brought in quickly as soon as the window opens.

If the board don't don't do that they are going to be under major pressure for the whole window.

{Ed007's Note - I'm hoping that there are players lined up that don't require any scouting, oven-ready players Brendan Rodgers has identified and then it's up to Michael Nicholson to negotiate.}

6.) 27 Apr 2024 01:10:32
It could be ED as we can't wait until the end of the season before we start negotiating for players
I'm just really hoping to get the appointment right and whoever we bring in is allowed to do his job without interference from anyone else at the club.
If Celtic want to be looked upon as a big club, we have to start acting like one and get away from the Jobs for the boys structure that we seem to have at the moment.
On that subject ED, Do you know if Ross Desmond is having anymore input in the club.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know how much input or influence he has without speaking things over with his dad but I have thought for a while that if the rumoured board shake up in the summer does happen then Ross Desmond will be appointed to the board.}

7.) 27 Apr 2024 15:06:34
Hopefully there will be a clear out with Yang, Oh, Kobiashi, lagerbielke, Nawrocki and Palma to name a few.

On loan players can be added to that list.

8.) 28 Apr 2024 11:48:02
That is what might cost us the league this season, Brendan persisting with his system and his style of play, instead of, the moment he came in, utilising the system and style of play that Ange had drilled into the players heads.

09 Jan 2023 16:54:12
Do you know if its true that the darkside are in talks with Cho and are further down the line than us.

If true i'm surprised as Miky "Game On" Beale was just complaining that he can't keep up with our spending power.

{Ed007's Note - The first I heard about it was on Twitter so that usually means it's bull$hit. If Mainz backed out of the deal because they can't afford it and with one of the Turkish teams not prepared to meet the financial demands I doubt any other club in Scotland except Celtic could afford to buy Cho Gue-Sung.}

1.) 09 Jan 2023 17:14:07
Thanks Ed
That's what I thought, It seems to be that they are linked with every player we are looking at.

{Ed007's Note - It's an old trick the press/media have used for years, Jon, anything that is Celtic v OFFC sells and earns clicks.}

2.) 09 Jan 2023 17:42:21
Just blow them out the water and put them in their place.

3.) 09 Jan 2023 22:27:51
If Ange really wants the lad and the alternative is the Sevvydome then he'll be at Paradise soon. End of. HH.

4.) 10 Jan 2023 12:55:50
I wonder if we'll read the usual "snubbed" pish when Cho signs for us. They like to say we got snubbed for Rangers with players we was never even interested in.

5.) 10 Jan 2023 15:30:15
Hartson was talking to Rangers FIRST. That turned oiut ok.

03 Jun 2022 22:20:26
Looks like Benfica have said Thanks and Goodbye to Jota.
Hopefully an announcement soon.

31 Aug 2021 18:03:53
Lee O'Connor out on loan again.

1.) 31 Aug 2021 18:12:21

2.) 31 Aug 2021 18:38:01
Yeah Mally.

3.) 31 Aug 2021 21:26:40
Is the lad any good?

4.) 31 Aug 2021 22:42:16
He came with a big rep and a lot of Man Utd fans were upset when we signed him.

25 May 2024 17:10:52
The two on-loan boys create the goal.
Get them both signed.

1.) 25 May 2024 18:52:39
Yip 100% agree. If O'reilly goes then bernardo is a ready made replacement. Idah is class, to think most on here were raging in January because he only had 8 letters in his name and wanted Van Hooijdonk because he had a name lol.

17 May 2024 08:34:42
I hope everyone that was saying we should sign Gunn watched the game last night, he definitely isn't the quality I would be looking to bring in.
I also think that it's going to be very hard to sign Idah now that Norwich have missed out on promotion, I can see the boy being kept and given a chance down there, especially after how well he done for us.

1.) 17 May 2024 09:10:28
Replacing Hart will be a difficult job. He wasn't the best goalie I've seen at Celtic but his influence and experience on and off the pitch was immense and his sweeper/ keeper role is no mean 'feet'.

2.) 17 May 2024 12:29:48
I like the sound of the guy Cakir for Trabzonspor. I saw an interview with him where he spoke about growing up a fan and being with them his entire career so far. It reminded me of the way Celtic fans speak about playing for Celtic. In that regard, I think he'd "get it". Their fans are fanatical and demanding (even though they're far less successful than us) so he'd be used to the pressure as well.

12 May 2024 17:28:49
Just read Brendan's comments regarding Hatate, he mentions that Hatate is a great player but gives the ball away to often.
Is this the reason Hatate didn't play often at the beginning of the season and does anyone think that this could mean we could see Hatate leave in the summer as that will be huge if we also lose Matt.

1.) 12 May 2024 18:36:46
Was going to post along those lines Johnbhoy71, Mat looks certain to go, the wealthier teams are very interested. Reo did give the ball away too often yesterday and he gave us some nervous moments therefore it would not be a surprise if Brendan decided he wanted more stability there. Calmac can't keep on playing every game for us - takes too much out him now. We could be looking at a different midfield next season.

2.) 12 May 2024 18:39:20
When Hatate returned to fitness he made a huge difference in our midfield for this run in and on his game is a very good player for us.

I can see MOR being sold as I believe there will be offers for him that might be too good for our board to knock back.

I'd hope we hold onto Reo as he's a class act ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

3.) 12 May 2024 18:52:49
When you play the ball forward and try to make difficult passes, you reduce your pass completion.

I'm guessing Rodgers was just thinking of this game, were he wanted more control at the later stages.

4.) 12 May 2024 21:27:12
I personally don't want to see Hatate leaving as I agree that he can be a class act, I was just surprised when I read Brendan's comments and wondered if Hatate is his type of player.
I was screaming at the tv for the last 20 mins to just keep the ball as for some reason we couldn't.
I still think we need a Big Vic type in midfield, especially going into Europe.

5.) 13 May 2024 00:42:40
We as fans need to be very strong and determined that we are not prepared to allow our better players to leave to join other clubs in other leagues because they maybe be able to earn more money, yet spend less time playing and more time sitting on bench . We expect Board to pay the going. rate for quality players and also give them the opportunity to play at the highest level of European football.

11 May 2024 16:13:58
That last 30mins was a brutal watch, we need players that know how to kill teams off and take their chances.
I would really like to see us go all out and spend £10-£12m on a moussa type player, especially with the new CL coming up next season.

1.) 11 May 2024 16:32:41
It was but we should have been out of sight. There was a right doing there for sevco if we'd taken our chances Hart had one save abd sevco did their usual high balls.

2.) 11 May 2024 17:07:15
I don't get this fascination with bringing dembele back . kyogo has a better AVG than him.

3.) 11 May 2024 17:08:08
Apologies jonbhoy " a player like"

20 Apr 2024 18:48:38
Going to have a bit of a rant so I apologise in advance.
Now although I think Hart has had a good season and saved us a few times, I would like to know when we are going to sign a Goalkeeper that commands his box.
Why can't we sign a keeper that will come out at corners or when teams are crossing into the box from freekicks, how many times have we lost goals from balls that a good keeper could have came out for? For so long we have signed big keepers who can't or won't come out and catch a cross ball
Also, why are players never booked for diving? every game we see players diving/ playacting when a player is hardly touched and they scream and roll about like they have a broken leg, only to then jump to there feet and sprint away if they get the freekick or if they didn't win the freekick and the opposition team are breaking. Why if a VAR check is done to see if a penalty is going to be given and the pictures show that the player clearly dived is no yellow card given
And since players don't seem to get booked for timewasting, I would also love to see Celtic deal out some of the oppositions own medicine, when we were winning the game with 5 mins to go, we should be timewasting as much as possible.
We lost a goal today when I think we only had a couple of minutes left and we tried to break but gave the ball away.
Finally I think the only way to stop the playacting/ timewasting is to bring in a rule that if a player goes down and the physio comes on then that player must then stay off the park for the same amount of time as it took for hin to get treatment (you could call it Recovery time)
I know some players are genually injured and need treatment but I think it would cut a lot of the cheating/ timewasting.
I can't remember who it was we were playing but it was a European game and I think we were getting beat by 1 goal, one of the the opposition players went down like he had been shot and 2 physio's came on and he was treated for about 5 mins, the physio's then had him by each arm and were basically carrying him to the sideline as it looked like he couldn't put his foot down, as soon as he got to the sideline he bent down, pulled the heal of his boot back on then waved to the ref and sprinted straight back on.
It's stuff like that that makes me hate watching football.

I don't think either are good enough if we want to move forward, I also see Armstrong heading to Mordor along with Shankland.

Well I think all the doubters can now see why Brendan started Idah.
I hope we can get the boy signed up as he could turn into a great striker for us.

Bids should start at £25m, we should get a good sell-on clause of around 10-15% also.
Depending on what team he ends up going to we should also ask if we can get him back on a 12mth loan where he could possibly be recalled in Jan to help us our in the CL.

Great news that both have signed new contracts.
Its funny that only yesterday there were numerous reports stating that we were letting Montgomery leave and that he isn't in Brendans plans, you would think there was a big game coming up. oh wait!

Bernardo is worth every penny of the £6m.
He was trusted by Brendan to play in the CL games and we will see him play a lot more next season.

Hopefully a few quality signings and it will be more comfortable next season.

Keev, you may think it Should never be a penalty but his hand is out from his body, also he stopped the ball heading goalwards after Kyogo headers the ball.
I'm not saying Kyogo would have scored with that header but the ball would have went into the 6yrd box where anything could happen.
