Any truth that Big Forster will sign tomorrow and will be paraded at the game tomorrow night.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 21 Aug 2019 22:22:11
Hope not.

2.) 22 Aug 2019 06:23:06
Please No.

3.) 22 Aug 2019 07:18:52
Why would u hope not he’s far better than either the current two and we are an injury to Gordon away from a youngster playing.

4.) 22 Aug 2019 07:45:28
Better than what we have in there right now.

5.) 22 Aug 2019 10:50:37
Why's he number 3 now then? Because of his good form? Joke off a signing, as bad as bringing Emilio back, people remembering what they had done and not what their doing or done recently .

6.) 22 Aug 2019 11:42:04
Just because he's not playing at the minute does it mean he's in poor form it could simply be that the manager doesn't rate him as highly as another keeper at the club we've all seen it before at Celtic players not getting a game because the manager prefers someone else.

15 Apr 2019 19:51:26
Is there any truth in us being interested in Graham Potter of Swansea?

Jonbhoy71

{Ed007's Note - I think it's more a case of he's interested in us but according to some he is friendly with people involved at Celtic.}

1.) 15 Apr 2019 20:24:43
Cheers ED.
I wasn't sure if it was just more SMSM paper talk.

{Ed007's Note - Potter's actually one of the better names that's been linked imo. He's a modern thinking manager/coach and I'd take him over the likes of a Moyes or Keane type. Read up on him, he's an interesting character, this is just from his Wiki page:

Potter has been recognised for his "progressive" and "unconventional" coaching methods. At Ostersund, he encouraged his players and staff to engage in community activities, such as performing in theatre and music productions designed to take them out of their comfort zone.

Potter describes his teams as "tactically flexible, attacking, [and] possession-based. At Ostersund, he deployed a flexible 3–5–2 formation centred on ball possession. Former Celtic and Barcelona player Henrik Larsson commented on Potter's pattern of play, stating he "played all different kinds of systems, starting off a match one way, and then halfway through they started playing a different system, and then they ended up with a third system. And all the players knew exactly what they were doing."

As a young coach, Potter studied the training methods of Roberto Martínez at Swansea and became inspired by his possession-based approach, along with the "holistic" training principles he observed during his travels to Spain.
Potter also cites the philosophy of Pep Guardiola and Raymond Verheijen’s periodisation model among his influences.

Marcelo Bielsa had this to say about him:

"He's English, he's a modern coach, he has new ideas, he brings new ideas. [Swansea is] a team that takes care of how they move the ball... in their style, the goalkeeper and defenders build from the back. And for me it’s the feature that you could underline from Swansea [under Potter]"

2.) 15 Apr 2019 20:33:50
What do you think of potter ed? You think he would be good for Celtic or we too big for him?

{Ed007's Note - I think we would need a proper DOF type to work alongside Potter so that Pedro isn't running the footballing side again.}

3.) 15 Apr 2019 21:14:05
If we decided to go down the dof route, who would you like to see in that role for us?

{Ed007's Note - Honestly I don't know. It's such a specialised job and the guys that do it are usually go unnoticed to the rank and file supporters like us. What about ex-Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo who left Monaco a couple of months ago? It's never going to happen and would cost a fortune but how many of you guys have even heard of him - no offence btw I only know about these guys from doing the sites and talking to Ed001 and Ed002 etc.}

4.) 15 Apr 2019 21:29:09
Ed I've heard a few time this season we want to go down the route of a DOF.
Did they not say Kennedy has been looked at for the role?

{Ed007's Note - A newspaper - I can't remember which one - ran the story not long after Rodgers left about Kennedy being promoted but I don't know how much truth there was in it.}

5.) 15 Apr 2019 22:48:57
I remember him doing well with Ostersund, took the team from League 4 to the top division in consecutive season then got through the Europa League group and gave Arsenal a real fright in the last 32.
If Lawwell is looking for a guy to come in and maybe work on a smaller budget, he may be the guy although I don't know if they would pay the compensation that Swansea might ask for.

6.) 16 Apr 2019 09:10:58
I certainly think we need to look at a DoF. Particularly if we're going to go with Lennon as has been said PL will run the footballing side of things and he doesn't have a footballing brain. As Ed points out a lot are unknown to most of us and the more reputable figues, we'd have no chance. After a bit of digging what about Jordi Cruyff? Currently with Maccabi Tel Aviv, so shouldn't be out of reach. He helped transform Larnaca to be the first Cypriot side to qualify for the Europa. And then they did it again the following season. Now in Israel Maccabi Tel Aviv are the big boys again after a long period of not being. They've also enjoyed a credible go in Europe too. He seems to like teams playing attractive, more importantly winning football. He has attracted good managers and players and he must have a decent contacts list. Just a suggestion.

7.) 16 Apr 2019 11:20:54
Scrap that he's managing in China 😅 Feck it let's just give John Park a ring.

8.) 16 Apr 2019 15:44:50
Didn't Swansea give man City a real fright recently I didn't see the game but I heard a quote that Swansea played more like City than city did or something like that he sounds like the type of manager I would like someone who has the tactical knowledge to change things quickly when needed.
reflecting back to Valencia games you could see fairly early on in the first game we needed to change something but it took Rodgers till the second game to do it.

9.) 16 Apr 2019 16:20:30
He did well at Ostersunds, but rising to the celtic job would be meteoric by any standards. So he beat arsenal. One to watch for sure tho.

10.) 16 Apr 2019 19:19:41
If he comes I hope he brings Daniel James with him.

11.) 22 Apr 2019 15:14:37
With Potter at the helm Swansea are currently sitting 12th in the Championship 28 points adrift of leaders Norwich, as one of the teams relegated with the payoff that’s not exactly a roaring endorsement for him getting the Celtic job in my estimations .

12.) 22 Apr 2019 23:22:10
Anyone think Harry Redknapp could be a good shout for DOF if we was going down that route?

28 Jan 2019 19:19:20
Just read a report claiming the new American boy Gutman has walked out on us and hasn't been seen in over a week.
Is this true or is it more paper pish?

Jonbhoy71

1.) 28 Jan 2019 20:03:57
What paper jonbhoy? Can't see such a story anywhere?

2.) 28 Jan 2019 21:56:20
He is supposed to be back in America and considering other options, Celtic supposed to be not interested in him any more.

{Ed007's Note - It would appear that we withdrew the offer from the gossip I'm hearing...... Seems a bit bizarre to me....}

3.) 28 Jan 2019 22:05:06
Yeah that’s a strange wan maybe he was just on trial and didn’t see him as a player anything on Perez boy Ed?

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea. There's really no need to get excited about players that will go into development projects, Rich.}

4.) 28 Jan 2019 22:30:25
Nae bother cheers Ed BRs interview the day wasn’t convinced with his answer to any more signings possibly coming in but we will c hope we get in a defender in.

5.) 28 Jan 2019 22:35:23
A said the same when these boys were over from America, they're development players that would've got a bit of coverage in the celtic view but now the way social media is, their names are all over the place I don't expect to see them for a long time and I certainly don't count them as signings.

6.) 28 Jan 2019 23:29:51
Seen quite a few saying him and Shved have been told to stay away until deadline day.

Probably a way for lawwell to make it look like we were still working on transfers.

Imo the two Americans are pointless anyway. Probably just disappear.

7.) 28 Jan 2019 23:25:49
Got it from here, like I said it might be pish but I hadn't heard the club announcing the deal yet so I wasn't sure what was happening:

goo.gl/p4i3Q4

8.) 29 Jan 2019 11:10:57
Too many development players that have dissapeared over the years.

9.) 29 Jan 2019 12:58:12
He'll end up at Sevco and they'll be gloating thinking it's a coup.

18 Jan 2019 20:04:12
So now the BR has stated YAYA isn't a target and Man U said you McTomley isn't going anywhere are we going to bring in a DM or just a right back.
I can't see us signing a CD since Boyata and Compper don't seem to be going anywhere and Bitton is fit again.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 18 Jan 2019 22:21:41
Omar Ellabadelliou, full back, in on Monday, sorry about spelling of surname.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 22:29:27
Tamtam where u hearing this?

3.) 18 Jan 2019 23:22:33
Not a chance he wants to stay where he is I heard.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 09:26:13
Whell there’s a pic of him at a Greek airport Friday night and there ament to have a game today so fingers crossed.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 10:03:41
I think he is flying out to his clubs game false alarm as per.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 10:48:26
He’s no coming we have enough RBs maybe no the right wan but they are no getting any more Ralston should be given his chance Gamboa is no cutting it and Lustig is still recovering from the World Cup it his age it’s taking it out him. There has to be big clear out Commper now if I didn’t do my job I would be sacked for being rubbish at it so there are two reasons for being removed. CHs you could play them all along the back 4 and still have one or two to n the bench Boyata should’ve been given marching orders he didn’t play when we needed him he could’ve left got money and then reinvest but no he is going for nothing where is the business sense in that PL is renound for his business sense where was he that day off buying some rubbish with his Boness money? There was a post before the window by someone who said that there would be signings but no major work done but if BR got what he wants then u will see them go. Well let’s see and judge at the end of the season HH.

7.) 21 Jan 2019 14:11:17
Well today is Monday. Is it another Monday you were thinking about? I hope you’re right, but we both know that’s not going to happen.

07 Jan 2019 11:55:59
Does anyone know if young Arzani is still with the club.
I wasn't sure if Man City recalled him after the injury and the deal was cancelled.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 07 Jan 2019 17:17:51
As far as I know he's back at city for treatment but will return when he's fit.

2.) 07 Jan 2019 17:56:20
Cheers Steph.

3.) 07 Jan 2019 22:05:02
Arzani will be a while yet, was it not a full knee recon?

4.) 08 Jan 2019 07:26:41
A think he's out till may. Can see his loan being extended, is there an option to buy do u know.

Has anyone heard anything in regards to a new contract for young Dembele?
He is free to talk to and sign for another club in a matter of weeks and I think it would be a travesty if he walked away for free or buttons if a development fee is involved.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 20 Nov 2020 14:41:06
Dembele is struggling with body development not taking a sprout as predicted. Got told that about 3 months ago.

2.) 20 Nov 2020 15:15:31
whats height go to do with anything. if your a good player your a good player.

3.) 20 Nov 2020 15:20:41
Some of the best players of all time have small stature. If you’re technically gifted and small you can still be a great footballer. Messi, Veratti, Insigne roll off the tongue quickly.

4.) 20 Nov 2020 16:14:52
Yes size dosn't matter but muscle does.

5.) 20 Nov 2020 16:52:30
Also heard commitment is poor. The quote I heard was “he is miles off it”. Don’t doubt the source as he has been spot on with a few other stories recently.

6.) 20 Nov 2020 19:18:36
Does anyone feel that if the two sevco partygoers were first team regulars sevco would have so willingly accepted the seven match ban they were given and would the SFA have given such a ban to regulars .

7.) 20 Nov 2020 20:25:06
Small players have to work harder and there physique has to be solid but once they're established it comes together.

8.) 21 Nov 2020 02:55:56
I'm wondering if its more to do with attitude as frimpong isn't exactly built like Anthony Joshua and was fast tracked into the team and has stayed there.

9.) 21 Nov 2020 10:45:21
He wants to leave. Will end up another feruz.

10.) 21 Nov 2020 11:32:49
There was interest in dembele from France during the summer but celtic wanted him to sign a contract before going on loan. And wanted a fee from any club. Think it's been documented on here a few times lennons treatment of young players so expect a few to leave if that is true. Henderson and robertson prob on loan in jan. Maybe okoflex.

11.) 21 Nov 2020 12:45:40
Ludovic giuly was only 5ft 4 and was a cracking player. Height is irrelevant. Apparently he is wanting to leave that's why he is not playing.

12.) 21 Nov 2020 16:52:03
According to lennon he isn't the only one wanting leave, but he still plays the rest in 1st team. Lennons and lawells arrogance will be celtics and their downfall, nobody will remember the millions lawell made for celtic, if they lose the league, to an average rangers team, that will hurt the most to us fans as they are not good but we are rotten this year.

13.) 21 Nov 2020 16:55:03
be silly if we let him leave because of that and that's why he is not getting game time.

i think that's why we released Andy Robertson to and look what happened there.

05 Nov 2020 23:32:12
I know i'm going on a rant here but Totally pathetic tonight.
you wouldn't think we were in pot 1 for this group, they haven't played domestic football for 4 weeks and were playing without 7 first team players.
All teams need to do to beat us is wait until Frimpong runs forward, we lose the ball and they just need to pump the ball into the RB position, then get by Duffy and they score.
At one point the tv camera turns to Lennon on the bench who is speaking to Kennedy and he sticks his bottom lip out whilst shrugging his shoulders.
Totally inept coaching, totally inept tactics and totally inept substitutions.
Taking Moi off who has scored 4 in the last 4 games and leaves The Glassman on for 90 minutes, takes Laxalt off and puts Christe or it could have been Mcgregor at LB although to be honest i'm not sure who played there as we were all over the place.
At there second goal Frimpong was no where to be seen, at the 4th goal Duffy, Bitton and Elhamed were all at the front post area when the ball comes over leaving Frimpong against 2 player!
A few players seem to have given up when we went 2-0 down.
First time in 30 years we have lost 3 home games in a row and the worrying thing is Lennon will be going no where.

Worst team since Mowbray.
And the thing is some of us could see this coming but there are still a lot of fans that have their head buried in the sand and can't accept that this run is now over and the manager don't seem to have any clue.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 06 Nov 2020 08:18:57
Lennon said in his interview last Sunday after the Semi Final that he needs to protect Rogic because he presently can’t play 2 games in a short time.
Yet he plays the full 90 minutes last night with Motherwell the more important game.
It was good to see Rogic play 85 minutes then 83 minutes and last night 90 minutes all in one week.

But why is Lennon contradicting himself?
Especially with Rogic taking a few knocks and he brought on Ntcham when the game was finished and also Lennon had Turnbull sitting in the stand with one substitution still to make.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear Rogic is out for Sunday, going by past history.

2.) 06 Nov 2020 09:49:32
That's a few times I've noticed Lenny ranting on the touchline at Kennedy, probably just venting his anger, and Kennedy looks totally indifferent to what he's saying.

16 Oct 2020 18:36:39
KT been cleared to play for Arsenal.

Jonbhoy71

26 Aug 2020 21:42:04
Totally pathetic, again this shows how bad Lennon's tactical knowledge and team choices are.
We will now sell Eddie, Ajer, Ntcham and possibly Christie or McGregor.
How can he not play with a striker and then only bring 2 subs on out of a possible 5 players when everyone was shouting that we have a great squad and we would sweep teams away by being able to use 5 subs.
Don't expect anymore players coming in now.
The only players that got pass markers for me was Moi and Ntcham.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 26 Aug 2020 21:45:55
4 of those guys played tonight and weren't good enough. Agree on Lenny but we think our players are better than they are.

2.) 26 Aug 2020 21:50:53
Fife you are spot on
Simply put, we are not very good

Weak in the air
Weak in the tackle
Slow and turgid (predictable)

We still might get 10iar done but it'll be hard work and with NL we are at a disadvantage IMVHO.

3.) 26 Aug 2020 21:52:59
Taylor A guy fans don't rate / like put in more work and dangerous crosses than ellynoosi now that's a guy who's totally overrated. he sums up the saying flatter to decieve.

4.) 26 Aug 2020 22:11:54
4-2-3-1. stale and predictable. All the supporters know this yet we persevere with it when it got sussed out long before Rodgers left. They was pure bang average and apart front the ball rolling into Barkas' hands at dead weight he never had a save to make all night. 2 shots on target 2 goals. We need to be much more clinical and not just in europe.

5.) 26 Aug 2020 23:09:54
Fair is no where near celtic quality. Moi isn't messi. What can he do with noone to hit. Noone to play off. He at least looks dangerous. Taylor has absolutely nothing. can't defend can't attack not good enough. Is he anywhere near the standards of KT or iZzy? No.

18 Aug 2020 21:14:37
What is Lennon all about? Game over at halftime and he has only used 1 sub up until the 67th minute.
It's OK saying players need match sharpness but so does the backup guys and what if someone gets injuree.

Jonbhoy71

1.) 18 Aug 2020 21:56:47
There back up for a reason
Some people will find any excuse to moan.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 00:23:11
Seasons only just started obviously trying to get minutes in the legs for players to get them up to speed.

3.) 19 Aug 2020 00:25:21
I'm not moaning and yes they are back ups for a reason but if we get 1 or 2 injuries we will be relaying on these "backups" to go straight in and get us wins.
What's the point in risking injury to major players when the game was won by half time and you can use 5 subs.
It's going to be a long hard season and everyone on here said that it was great that we can use 5 subs as we have the biggest and best squad and the manager isn't using it.

4.) 19 Aug 2020 11:21:42
Johnboy you are moaning, just enjoy winning and leave the tactics a d substitutions to Lennon and the Celtic backroom staff. They know more than you and anyone of us about the skill set and fitness of their players.

OK well first of all you want us to just sit back and Pray that he can turn this around? We have more chance of Godzilla walking out the Forth and declaring himself the new King of Scotland.
There is something rotten at the club and the players have stopped playing for him, there are about 3 players who care about the 10IAR and the rest don't give a rubbish. Lennon came out and said that there were certain players (Christie, Ajer, Edouard if rumours are true) who didn't want to be here but he still picks them and is relaying on them to win us games and then comes out and slaughters the players in the media when they don't win.
That's some man-management, do you think any other manager worth there salt would have a player in the team that didn't want to be at the club?
Also if you think we will go on a run with this manager and group of players you must be deluded mate, We have 5 games before our visit to Ibrox and you will be lucky if we win 3 of them
You also mention he has done it before against McCoist! Although I will give you credit where you say they are stronger now because but did you actually watch that any of the games that season? we were up against a team that were on its knees, a team that couldn't sign a player for over £1m and went bust and had a points reduction!
Don't kid ourselves on either regarding Lennon as he only got the job in the first place because he was a cheap option and Lawwell's yes man, it had absolutely nothing to do with his coaching ability
Also i'm actually sick of hearing the "Celtic Man "legend" "He started the 10" the people that throw these terms about so easily are the same fans that were calling Brendan Rodgers a Legend but now came even type his name and call him a Snake.

Tim.
You mention the 5 titles he won, well let's have a look at them.

Title 1, won after beating a Rangers team that was on it's knees, signing duds and went into receivership and had a points deduction.
Titles 2 and 3, won in a league with NO challenger.

Title 4, won after Brendan left, Lennon took over a team that was 8 points clear with 11 games to go, he then stated more than once that he would change NOTHING in the way the team trained and played from before Brendan left and he would relay heavily on Kennedy and Duff. Personally I believe Kennedy and Duff would have won us the treble that year.

Title 5, Won after Rangers imploded after the winter break and the league was called after 30 games.

I mentioned this in another post, Lennon DID NOT get this job the first time or this time because of his management skills.
When he got the job the first time after he had been demoted from a 1st team coach under WGS to the reserve coach under Mowbray.
He was then given the managers job after TM was sacked and the Lennon Brigade demanded that he was given the job.
We all know the circumstances on how he was handed the job this time.
He was then and is now the cheap option, a Yes man to Lawwell and the board and will accept what he is told.
It is worrying that even now people are saying that the training is exactly the same as when BR left.
What exactly has Lennon brought back with him? chaos, lack of discipline and rumours of unrest and friction between him and players

With Lennon in charge there will not be any 6th league title for him and do you know why he won't quit or won't be sacked?
Because Lennon and Lawwell both know that Lennon will never manage a club again.

Oldkilly,
We can be faithful through and through whilst being realistic, people need to start taking off their Green tinted glasses and come out from under there Lennon duvet covers.
There is no way that this team, playing the way they are under our current manager will win this league.
This same manager who not long ago came out and said that certain players didn't want to be here, these same players if rumours are to be believed are still being played every week no matter there form.
The big problem I see is that yes clubs could have a player or two that's unhappy and wants to move but can still get results when this or that player plays, with Celtic it has been rumoured that we have possibly 5 or 6 players that have asked to leave (Edouard, Ntcham, Christie, Ajer, Bitton, Jullien) but were told they wouldn't be sold this season because it was to important, all these same players haven't kicked a ball since the start of the season
There is NO team no matter who they are will win a title when they have 5 or 6 first team starters wanting out, people have also mentioned McGregor wants out also.
The only way I can see us even coming close to winning this league with Lennon in charge is if by some miracle we go on a run and win all our games before the game at Ibrox and then somehow win there.
We would then need to get rid of all the players that have no interest in being here, we then reinvest all the cash we raise into quality players that can come in and hit the ground running.
If and its a BIG IF that happens, we might see the other side wobble and we might be able to take advantage, otherwise as far as I see and right now with the way everything is, its over!

No wonder I don't post a lot!
