We can say goodbye to Davies as reports saying Liverpool are wanting him to cover VVD.

{Ed007's Note - Liverpool are pushing to get Aaron Long on loan subject to a little bit of work by a third party and a Work Permit - The Work Permit should not be an issue as it is a loan. They will speak to Long before tonight's match in Florida.
As far as I know and been told there has been no contact between Liverpool and PNE with regards to Ben Davies.}

1.) 31 Jan 2021 17:35:56
was just reported during the liverpool game they are after him, ed do you know if the pre contract he's been signed?

{Ed007's Note - And the BBC are now reporting that there's been no contact. No the pre-contract hasn't been signed.}

2.) 31 Jan 2021 17:37:04
Cheers Ed, It was a report I read in one of the papers. I should have known better.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

3.) 31 Jan 2021 17:47:01
thanks ed.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

4.) 31 Jan 2021 17:58:44
So Davis is still up for grabs who can give him the best way forward the best package all round shiuld get his signature basically ED 007 then? Well fingers crossed we do.

5.) 31 Jan 2021 18:46:01
been widely reported liverpool will sign him now.

6.) 31 Jan 2021 17:45:16
A guy my boy knows who works for club saying this as well . might be rubbish tho.

07 Dec 2020 14:23:24
So according to reports Lennon has had assurances that his job is same according to reports.
If this is as has been mentioned, a way of letting Lennon complete the treble from last year then everyone on the board and Mr Desmond should remove themselves from our club immediately.
This will prove that its all just a big pals act and the board do not care about the fans as long as the money is rolling in.
We are in for another hammering on Thurs and probably more dropped points on Sunday.
If we do somehow then fluke a win against Hearts, Lennon will have a bigger brass neck lifting the cup than Compper did when he collected his winners medal.

1.) 07 Dec 2020 14:29:20
If he's in charge for Sunday, we should protest by not logging into the season pass. Watch an illegal stream if you want, but don't watch via the season pass. Won't hurt them financially, but they'll see the numbers are way down.

TBH, if he's in charge on Thursday, I hope we get absolutely pumped by Lille.

2.) 07 Dec 2020 14:45:01
They probably haven’t looked to see what numbers the season pass gets.
The money is already in the bank.

3.) 07 Dec 2020 15:01:49
I'm finished watching until change is made, grandkids can forget their kits and trackies this Christmas too.
We are being ignored and made fools of, the only people hurting here are the ones who actually put money into the club and the ones making fools of us are being paid millions a year for doing so.

{Ed007's Note -

4.) 07 Dec 2020 16:22:58
I've definitely decided not to renew next season unless I'm overwhelmed by the new manager, or we somehow win the league with Jack Ross in charge.

I have a complete set of home programs for 9IAR and was up to date with ten until the Sevconian game. I haven't bothered since then, and don't intend on spending anymore money unless there's change. No doubt Sky will dingy us again in favour of a Sevconian home match, and I won't be spending any money on PPV.

5.) 07 Dec 2020 16:42:54
Sevco will batter us on the 2nd and that will win the league.

6.) 07 Dec 2020 17:56:20
If Lennon is still here league will be gone by time old firm game arrives.

30 Nov 2020 12:01:23

Are you hearing anything in regards to Lennon?

{Ed007's Note - There's so much stuff going about, Jon it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff but I don't think Lennon is going to survive this now.}

1.) 30 Nov 2020 12:28:34
Cheers ED, thanks for the reply.
I feel the same as yourself, I also think if it had been any other manager he would have been out the door weeks ago.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

2.) 30 Nov 2020 12:33:04
Just seen Charles Paterson on SLY saying NL, backroom staff and all the players are currently at the training complex as usual. However there is Board meeting scheduled for this week and according to him the board are split and a decision should be made in due course.

21 Aug 2019 22:08:05
Any truth that Big Forster will sign tomorrow and will be paraded at the game tomorrow night.

1.) 21 Aug 2019 22:22:11
Hope not.

2.) 22 Aug 2019 06:23:06
Please No.

3.) 22 Aug 2019 07:18:52
Why would u hope not he’s far better than either the current two and we are an injury to Gordon away from a youngster playing.

4.) 22 Aug 2019 07:45:28
Better than what we have in there right now.

5.) 22 Aug 2019 10:50:37
Why's he number 3 now then? Because of his good form? Joke off a signing, as bad as bringing Emilio back, people remembering what they had done and not what their doing or done recently .

6.) 22 Aug 2019 11:42:04
Just because he's not playing at the minute does it mean he's in poor form it could simply be that the manager doesn't rate him as highly as another keeper at the club we've all seen it before at Celtic players not getting a game because the manager prefers someone else.

15 Apr 2019 19:51:26
Is there any truth in us being interested in Graham Potter of Swansea?

{Ed007's Note - I think it's more a case of he's interested in us but according to some he is friendly with people involved at Celtic.}

1.) 15 Apr 2019 20:24:43
Cheers ED.
I wasn't sure if it was just more SMSM paper talk.

{Ed007's Note - Potter's actually one of the better names that's been linked imo. He's a modern thinking manager/coach and I'd take him over the likes of a Moyes or Keane type. Read up on him, he's an interesting character, this is just from his Wiki page:

Potter has been recognised for his "progressive" and "unconventional" coaching methods. At Ostersund, he encouraged his players and staff to engage in community activities, such as performing in theatre and music productions designed to take them out of their comfort zone.

Potter describes his teams as "tactically flexible, attacking, [and] possession-based. At Ostersund, he deployed a flexible 3–5–2 formation centred on ball possession. Former Celtic and Barcelona player Henrik Larsson commented on Potter's pattern of play, stating he "played all different kinds of systems, starting off a match one way, and then halfway through they started playing a different system, and then they ended up with a third system. And all the players knew exactly what they were doing."

As a young coach, Potter studied the training methods of Roberto Martínez at Swansea and became inspired by his possession-based approach, along with the "holistic" training principles he observed during his travels to Spain.
Potter also cites the philosophy of Pep Guardiola and Raymond Verheijen’s periodisation model among his influences.

Marcelo Bielsa had this to say about him:

"He's English, he's a modern coach, he has new ideas, he brings new ideas. [Swansea is] a team that takes care of how they move the ball... in their style, the goalkeeper and defenders build from the back. And for me it’s the feature that you could underline from Swansea [under Potter]"

2.) 15 Apr 2019 20:33:50
What do you think of potter ed? You think he would be good for Celtic or we too big for him?

{Ed007's Note - I think we would need a proper DOF type to work alongside Potter so that Pedro isn't running the footballing side again.}

3.) 15 Apr 2019 21:14:05
If we decided to go down the dof route, who would you like to see in that role for us?

{Ed007's Note - Honestly I don't know. It's such a specialised job and the guys that do it are usually go unnoticed to the rank and file supporters like us. What about ex-Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo who left Monaco a couple of months ago? It's never going to happen and would cost a fortune but how many of you guys have even heard of him - no offence btw I only know about these guys from doing the sites and talking to Ed001 and Ed002 etc.}

4.) 15 Apr 2019 21:29:09
Ed I've heard a few time this season we want to go down the route of a DOF.
Did they not say Kennedy has been looked at for the role?

{Ed007's Note - A newspaper - I can't remember which one - ran the story not long after Rodgers left about Kennedy being promoted but I don't know how much truth there was in it.}

5.) 15 Apr 2019 22:48:57
I remember him doing well with Ostersund, took the team from League 4 to the top division in consecutive season then got through the Europa League group and gave Arsenal a real fright in the last 32.
If Lawwell is looking for a guy to come in and maybe work on a smaller budget, he may be the guy although I don't know if they would pay the compensation that Swansea might ask for.

6.) 16 Apr 2019 09:10:58
I certainly think we need to look at a DoF. Particularly if we're going to go with Lennon as has been said PL will run the footballing side of things and he doesn't have a footballing brain. As Ed points out a lot are unknown to most of us and the more reputable figues, we'd have no chance. After a bit of digging what about Jordi Cruyff? Currently with Maccabi Tel Aviv, so shouldn't be out of reach. He helped transform Larnaca to be the first Cypriot side to qualify for the Europa. And then they did it again the following season. Now in Israel Maccabi Tel Aviv are the big boys again after a long period of not being. They've also enjoyed a credible go in Europe too. He seems to like teams playing attractive, more importantly winning football. He has attracted good managers and players and he must have a decent contacts list. Just a suggestion.

7.) 16 Apr 2019 11:20:54
Scrap that he's managing in China 😅 Feck it let's just give John Park a ring.

8.) 16 Apr 2019 15:44:50
Didn't Swansea give man City a real fright recently I didn't see the game but I heard a quote that Swansea played more like City than city did or something like that he sounds like the type of manager I would like someone who has the tactical knowledge to change things quickly when needed.
reflecting back to Valencia games you could see fairly early on in the first game we needed to change something but it took Rodgers till the second game to do it.

9.) 16 Apr 2019 16:20:30
He did well at Ostersunds, but rising to the celtic job would be meteoric by any standards. So he beat arsenal. One to watch for sure tho.

10.) 16 Apr 2019 19:19:41
If he comes I hope he brings Daniel James with him.

11.) 22 Apr 2019 15:14:37
With Potter at the helm Swansea are currently sitting 12th in the Championship 28 points adrift of leaders Norwich, as one of the teams relegated with the payoff that’s not exactly a roaring endorsement for him getting the Celtic job in my estimations .

12.) 22 Apr 2019 23:22:10
Anyone think Harry Redknapp could be a good shout for DOF if we was going down that route?

That's him gone.

21 Feb 2021 22:33:46
All you needed to know about Lennon happened even before the game started.
Hughes comes on tv and tells everyone exactly hoe he was setting up and how they were going to play and then Lennon comes on and says the weather is good and the pitch looks good! did he even look at the pitch before the game.
I also know we had used 1 sub with Laxalt and then again we bring 1 sub on with Griff but we are then chasing the game and we bring Moi on when we could have brought 3 subs on at that point.
Does Lennon just not trust or like Ajeti and Klimala? Why did he not bring on a natural striker and take off a defender when Ross Co played 7 across there 18yrd line with 15 mins to go.

03 Feb 2021 01:25:32
It was a win but it proves nothing.
Killie are totally dire and managerless and I only hope this doesn't make the board think that Lennon is the man for next season.

01 Feb 2021 22:48:30
Hi Ed, sorry for being a pain.
I was watching the Lennon interview regarding Lawwell leaving and McKay taking over.
I noticed that both Lennon and Brown mentioned that they have known for a while that Lawwell was leaving but Lennon then mentioned that he only found out McKay was taking over the same morning the rest of us did.
Is this telling in regards to the managers situation or would this be normal that the manager hasn't heard who the new man would be?

{Ed007's Note - I don't see any reason why any manager would need to know about incoming executives, those decisions are made by the board.}

01 Feb 2021 21:03:15
Anyone else coming in?

1.) 02 Feb 2021 02:53:59
Just couldn't get the two CB, 's over the line. Maybe if they started 30 days ago there might have been a chance. Or even before that. I might be wrong, but on my telly it's looked for a while our defence should be charged under the Trades Description Act. Might be my telly. They obviously know what they're doing.

It's the usual bollocks from reporters like during a transfer window, they have no clue and just use the scatter gun approach so if in a few weeks one of there names come up they can go with the old "As I exclusively broke the story on the ***"

Maybe he didn't want to take over a Cluster **** of a season.
He may also be the manager that was rumoured to have said that he would take the job but wouldn't work with Lawwell.
Personally I still think its Keane who will be announced in the next couple of weeks after Sevco win the title.

People seem to think that it was Hammond that signed all the players we brought in. The only people responsible for the players that we signed were Lawwell and Lennon.

{Ed007's Note - The final decision was Lawwell's.}

As I mentioned a few times on here is that the biggest problem this season was Lennon and only Lennon.
Right at the start Lennon went on TV and slated the players and said he knew there were players that didn't want to be at the club but he then continued to play them.
Any other manager who knew a player didn't want to play for the team would have either sold them or benched them, he then continued to play his wee favourites no matter there form just like he did the first time he was manager.
On the fitness side of things, this squad is exactly in the same shape the last squad was in when Lennon was in charge, god knows what goes on a Lennoxtown but the quicker a manager comes in that can actually get a squad fit the better.

I think we are about to see the same reaction.
