There's more chance of me rubbishting out a monkey than anything coming from the meeting with the board.
04 Oct 2025 05:13:40
I’m sure there’ll be a post-meeting statement! 😜.
03 Oct 2025 18:55:15
I will be amazed if we win the league this season going by how poor we are, i'll also be amazed if we don't win the league going by how poor the opposition are. 🤔😂 Hope that makes sense!

When Celtic lost our 69 game unbeaten domestic record with a 4-0 defeat against Hearts,
We started to struggle to score goals for the rest of the season under Brendan.
Celtic failed to score in 9 games including that Hearts match plus a CL match the previous week to make it double figures from the December time.
Celtic still became Champions but with a low points tally of 82 points and something similar looks like happening this season.

Said before we need to be on hearts tail come the January window. points will we dropped by all contender's just how many . even sevco at bottom fighting relegation need to be carefull.

If Desmond does not sack the board soon then I can see this decline continuing and fan anger intensifying. If we lose the league I can see many fans going apocalyptic and some even turning away from the club as apathy starts to set in.
Keeping the board is going to cost the club plenty of money in lost revenue as well.

With three full months until the next transfer window, the manager needs to really earn his money and find a formation and strategy that can get much more out of this squad.
The main areas of concern are not scoring goals, goalkeeping mistakes and the slow, sideways play mostly orchestrated by our captain. All of which the manager has to address.
Many supporters are more concerned about the teams performances than their anger at the Board, because an improvement on the pitch would seem to be a better short term objective - until the January window or we chance losing our trophies.
There is no doubt the Board are responsible for the current mess and that should not be forgotten. Meanwhile, improvement on current results and performances would not excuse their incompetence, but would boost the players and support and would help Brendan Rodgers impress his potential future employer. Celtic cannot afford another 'Lockdown League' scenario half heartedly throwing it away.

Third season syndrome. Rodgers sides always start to struggle in the third season. Happened at Liverpool, us, Leicester and now us again.

I'm afraid guys we are having another 'shoot yourself in the foot season'. Toxic from top to bottom, with the Board, Manager, Players and Fans ALL contributing.
Playing into our rivals and media's hands. Last time we had one it cost us 10 in a row, and the cost this season will go way beyond not qualifying for the champions league, believe me there is much more damage to come.
03 Oct 2025 16:53:46
I lay blame with the board.
03 Oct 2025 18:56:18
What about sorting our problems?
04 Oct 2025 07:41:43
The fans have nothing to do with how terrible the board are, at consistently screwing everything up. We are reacting to criminal negligence. The Manager and the players are at fault for poor form. But we needed players and theyvdudnt arrive. Again.
03 Oct 2025 14:54:33
It's been highlighted that Celtic have failed to score in 5 of our last 9 games.
It's also well known that McCowan is a great impact player which he showed on flag day when he got us out of jail with a late winner.
McCowan has started on the bench in 4 of those games when we haven't scored recently.
Luke came on for the last 2 minutes in one game and then he came off the bench in the 2nd half of Extra Time in Kazakhstan and that's been it.

With reports that talks between the board and BR have failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension, which, if true, means BR will leave in May, when will the board start their search for a new manager?
Given what has taken place this summer, the lack of strength and depth of the current squad and the total disconnect between the board and the supporters, I'm not confident at all that we'll attract a manager of any substance.
I hope I'm wrong 🙏

Probably start in July 26.

The Celtic Board got very lucky with the Ange appointment considering he wasn’t their first choice.
I was expecting a few years of unrest until Ange turned it all around.
03 Oct 2025 15:59:18
Who’s your choice Pedro, mine was klunsen or McKenna but Ipswich not doing to well at moment then thot USG manager then they got pumped of Newcastle other night av not a clue hopefully board have.
03 Oct 2025 16:33:45
Probably Russell Martin as "The Board's Choice".
03 Oct 2025 18:21:08
Troy Colour, McKenna was one name that would have been on my list - he has youth on his side.
AP proved you don't have to be a 'big' name to come in and do a good job.
As always, time will tell, but the way they're going, this current board fill me with fear when it comes to making key decisions that impact the team on the park.

pedro the season has just started we have a manager why would the board announce there looking for a new manager.
03 Oct 2025 22:38:51
Stick on its Maloney.
04 Oct 2025 08:38:59
And stick on the stands will be empty.

I've seen another video of that shocking non goal incident from last night and it was actually the linesman 50 yards away that made the arm movement to suggest it was a handball.
The lineman also stood in line with the incident instead of running to the halfway line.
The lineman started to make the experienced referee and VAR look like fools and then they finished the job off themselves.
The incident is getting loads of attention on Tick Tock from English neutrals and they're all agreeing it's the worst VAR decision yet.
Are we expecting a statement from UEFA to maybe apologise or will they just turn a blind eye?
03 Oct 2025 15:36:40
It's one of the most controversial reviews since the introduction of the technology to allegedly clarify and assist decisions by officials. Not saying we would have won, but it would have definitely had an impact on the result.
There is no consolation or comeback from this but it must raise serious questions about VAR and it's obvious flaws.
03 Oct 2025 20:28:55
Bobby Madden has embarrassed himself once again.
He’s trying to defend the German officials with a picture as evidence that it hit Iheanacho’s hand but the picture he showed doesn’t confirm his theory.
03 Oct 2025 12:47:16
14,000 empty seats at 45 pounds cost the board around 630k. I can't wait till this cycle ends. New players, New manager. New board members. IWhat we get will be Kennedy, mediocre players, no new board members and the biscuit tin for transfers!
03 Oct 2025 13:20:17
I’m very surprised the Attendance has been given as 46,000.
I was at the back of the upper stand last night and I thought the Attendance was about 35,000.
It looks like tickets that have been bought in the package but they couldn’t make the early kickoff time have been included.
Plus fans on the home ticket scheme that couldn’t make the early start last night.
03 Oct 2025 12:34:59
My mate told me that Celtic have officially challenged the var decision to disallow our goal.
We were garbage for sure but that decision did not help.
Was stevie wonder in the var room making the decision?
More to the point, very suspicious that the referee did not even go to the pitchside tv to view the event but chose to stand and wait for decision to be made for him.
Stinks of cheating to me and should be investigated.
04 Oct 2025 10:23:53
Our board will look for any sort of deflection at this moment. Christ, they may even challenge the Lord Nimmo Smith tribunal if they thought it could take the heat off 🥸.
03 Oct 2025 11:48:29
I've mentioned this before.
Celtic lost 7 games from January until the end of last season which was equally the most since 1990.
In the calendar year of 2024 Celtic only lost 2 games which was the least amount in over 100 years in the same calendar year.
This same management team and majority of the same players are in danger of losing the most amount of games in the same calendar year since 1990.
That would be insane to break a record which stood for over 100 years to then get the worst record in 35 years in the space of only 12 months.
Since 1990 when we lost something like 17 games,
Celtic have lost 13 times on a couple of occasions.
One of those years was 2007 which was strange considering Celtic won the 2007 league title and Scottish cup but we still lost 13 times in that same calendar year.
Celtic have currently lost 9 times in 2025 and that will become 10 if we don't win the league cup in December.
Celtic still have 4 Europa League games to play and multiple league matches before the New Year.

Great stats buzz, just reiterates how far we’ve declined in such a short period of time. Truly worrying . ED I know your busy but I respect your opinion and was wondering do you think we should just let Rodgers run his contract down and make a change in the summer or would you try extend . Thanks.
{Ed007's Note - I think it's for the best for everyone concerned if there is a parting of the way with Rodgers, personally I'd have started looking for his replacement in the summer, get agents etc to see who might be interested.
