After the match on Sunday Celtic will have 6 days before our next match.
That will be the longest Martin will have had to prepare for any game in his 2 spells this season due to domestic, European and International games.

Celtic had a break from January 3rd to January 10th but Martin came back on the 6th January.
The earlier Aberdeen postponement meant we had 6 days in between games but the Aberdeen preparations were already in place before the late call off.

After Sunday Celtic will have played 13 more games already than Hearts this season, which could end up 15 more if we reach the SC Final.

06 Mar 2026 19:53:15
With the diets going out early of both cups and no midweek European games it has benefited them this season. You will see a big drop of next season when they play midweek European games.

07 Mar 2026 06:27:43
I think now out Europe it will be opposite from last year when going out a half successful cl killed the buzz for players, I think this year we will see an ignition of domestic reality and hopefully some hunger to win this league,

07 Mar 2026 07:55:55
What killed the buzz last season was the sale of kyogo and not replacing him.

Celtic made a huge error by getting out of the group stages this season. When you looked at our depleted team and factored in our number one priority, we should have fielded weakened teams in Europe and focused solely on the league. I said the same at the time and I stick by that.

This along with the appointment of Nancy, the banning of fans and the piss poor recruitment are the reason we are in this mess.

07 Mar 2026 09:23:41
Hopefully Jaa,
Celtic have only dropped points in 3 league games under Martin this season and they all happened after playing a European midweek match.

07 Mar 2026 11:54:38
Joe had kyogo kicked his own arse before leaving I’d accept that but he wasn’t great and we where already relying on inform meada over kyogo.

07 Mar 2026 12:51:26
Couldn't disagree more Weejoe. The result in Stutgart may be the catalyst to winning a double.

07 Mar 2026 13:39:17
@jaa: "I was not against the idea of selling Kyogo, but failing to replace him and leaving us without a first-choice striker cost us a cup, a top-class manager, Champions League qualification, and fractured the club. That decision was the turning point for much of what came after. "

@smkmeakipper: "Fielding a full-strength team in those European fixtures caused us to drop crucial points in the league, making it much harder to win anything this season. Our domestic form suffered significantly after those European matches, and that was the only time MON's Celtic dropped points. If our top priority is winning the league this year, then it’s hard to argue with that approach.

07 Mar 2026 14:04:23
💯 Joe failing to replace Kiogo was unforgivable. Suicidal in a lot of respect s. I still can't get my head around how incompetent Celtic were in that respect. And how no one walked for that decision. We should have had a replacement walking in the door as Kiogo was walking out.

07 Mar 2026 14:34:39
Exactly tony.

Then here we are over 1 year later and we have still not found a suitable replacement.

Unforgivable.

Keep your glued hair on Danny.

07 Mar 2026 11:06:21
His hair has come back from the dead.
The same as the club he Manages 😂.

06 Mar 2026 15:24:06
I would love Martin to play Tierney at left back with Saracchi in the wing position in front of him. Likewise, Donovan on the other side. Just to keep it tight under halftime then release our wingers. Tounekti and Yang can’t head a ball to save them. Thoughts?

06 Mar 2026 15:45:05
Kt a massive doubt for Sunday.

06 Mar 2026 15:51:34
KT was a left midfielder when he was in the Development Squad.

07 Mar 2026 06:29:55
Same in right with Johnston aroujo in front would be decent, I still think meada should be left and replaced by Tonetki in game.

06 Mar 2026 14:22:49
The Scottish Media have Sunday's game as a no contest

Sevco favourites 1/ 1 Draw 13/ 5 Celtic 12/ 5

Hopefully our Guru Buzz can back me up here but I have a suspicion when they were favourites they blew it, hopefully do the same Sunday

Although I think extra time and penalties will be required.

06 Mar 2026 15:14:21
Celtic have won our last 5 Cup games against Sevco and 9 out of 10 in front of spectators.
( they won at Ibrox behind closed doors in SC )
Our overall cup record against Sevco is Won 10 and Lost 3.

Celtic however have failed to beat Sevco in our last 8 meetings during 90 minutes.
We did win 2 of those games AET and Penalties.
Drawn 3 and Lost 3.

Basically Celtic have a poor recent record over 90 minutes and Sevco have a poor Cup record in head to head games.
Something has to give on Sunday unless your prediction is correct Tim and Celtic win again after 90 minutes.

06 Mar 2026 14:14:19
The Chermiti guy has hurt us the last 2 games and has the measure of our defence. What might alter things is if we change personel. Trusty would get bullied and turned for pace and I feel Murray is error prone. Arthur fresh from MOM is quick, strong and although relatively untested would get my vote.

And all day long Sinisalo. Up front, god knows they are all equally woeful and i'd rather start with Jonny Kenny than any of them. Can see extra time and poss pens as they are also a poor team.

06 Mar 2026 15:18:06
Trusty was wide on the right of a back 3 at Celtic Park under Nancy and then missed the game at Ibrox.
Trusty and Scales in a flat back 4 will make it harder for him.

06 Mar 2026 15:46:32
Kenny is like larsson next to our present forwards.

06 Mar 2026 18:26:45
Chermiti plays better with a 2 up front, after Rohll took off Naderi he was lost. They will play 4312.
They will line up
Butland
Sterling - Souter- Fernandez - Rommens
Raskin- Chuck
Diamondi - Moore
Naderi- Chermiti.

06 Mar 2026 19:11:14
Expect more than double our long balls again.

06 Mar 2026 21:10:20
He will definitely play that formation peterboy, if our midfield play we win, nygren a sub for me again plus Naderi can’t seem to last 75 min too.

07 Mar 2026 06:31:20
He should have scored a couple in cup game as well, in that game the other side or should I say the other 90% showed up,

Ed007 again in ref to the pod cast re managers could you see us taking a chance on broony? He knows the club inside out, would cost us pennies and has some management experience (minimal) he’s not for me but could see the board tryin the he’s a Celtic man tactic.

{Ed007's Note - No thanks, not for me. That's even worse than Askou! 😊

06 Mar 2026 15:50:03
Id take Nancy back before broony. 🤣.

06 Mar 2026 17:01:59
It will be Robbie Keane if spurs don’t get relegated as they see him as the cheap option I was reading today or Damien duff because of the whole Irish Celtic man thing that DD loves and from what I’ve been reading Shaun Maloney is drawing up a recruitment list for the summer so maybe a passing of the guard from Martin to Shaun we won’t be pushing the boat out for the new manager he will be another yes man or a cheap option because the biscuit Tin mentality will never change.

06 Mar 2026 17:20:39
As much as I like Broony surely not, maybe in two or three years time but not now I just hope the board can do one thing correctly and get a good manager in as soon as this season is over.

In fact I hope they have as good as got him now so he can assess the squad and get new players in early not at the end of August as is typical with years gone by.

06 Mar 2026 21:37:12
Askou all day.

06 Mar 2026 02:08:24
Ed007 I’ve just been listening to the podcast and have to say I disagree with your comment about if we loose the league it will put a rocket up DD, I personally think he has lost his desire to do anything to take us forward and I think he might realise that passing his stake onto RD will not go down well after his rubbish at the AGM so he’ll just let things carry on as they are.

{Ed007's Note - I never said that it would, I said hopefully it would if it happened.}

07 Mar 2026 06:53:11
I don’t agree with the lose desire thinking, if that was case, he wouldn’t have went to mon twice (only he could have prob got mon) his rage at br showed he’s in an angry state of mind, I think he’s prob angry now at fanbase as much as anything - I could be wrong, but the Nancy disaster was a huge f up, but I believe they where about to back him in market (Nancy got aroujo remember ) we where about to sign few players from mls, and who knows who else had navy been a success, we will back a new manager, my worry is the structure above the manager still isn’t in place and therefore who’s deciding anyone we do look at as a player, as a club aroujo for me should be someone we’re looking to sign, I do like sarrachi, but think we might look at Andy Robertson, all other loans I’d expect to be moved on, ( I think we should be having a look at Palma under a new manager before letting go, if that team don’t fork out to sell him on that is) new manger will need, 2 new rw 2 new strikers (maybe 3) , new ch, and prob 1-2 new centre mids, they’ll have some job on unless they can turn some of what’s here’s careers around.

06 Mar 2026 12:45:58
I am currently on a DIET ( A BETTING DIET)

My diet is scheduled to end on Tuesday, when I hope to have a FEAST (of winners)

Although my ongoing health issues is interfering as next week I have TWO hospital appointments scheduled, I just hope nurses can keep me informed how my horses are doing lol.

06 Mar 2026 15:20:22
Good Luck Tim with your health and horses 🍀.

06 Mar 2026 16:39:57
Hope all goes well for you at the hospital Tim.

06 Mar 2026 17:03:53
Hope all is well and goes well Tim.

06 Mar 2026 11:48:43
Who would play Arthur before Trusty on Sunday. I would because Trusty is a mistake waiting to happen, the boy Arthur looked solid on Wednesday ok only against Aberdeen but he's a unit, composed on the ball and is right sided. Also think he would give Chermiti a harder time than Trusty. Thoughts.

06 Mar 2026 13:12:34
I would play Arthur and get Trusty back in his own position and bench Scales whose constant lack of composure has me hiding behind the couch.

06 Mar 2026 14:47:34
Arthur looks really quality. For a young player his positional sense is way above our other 2 cb's.

His reading of the game was excellent, he was able to break up attacks by stepping back and closing the space before their players could get to the ball.

I would play him and Trusty but we need to stop passing back to our keeper and bringing teams into us.

We need to put enough players in midfield to get control of the game.

Most important is that we need to start a lot quicker than the last game. We cannot give them any belief and try and get their fans in their players backs.

We also need to shut up that person manager of theirs.

06 Mar 2026 14:48:54
Nvr seen the game but heard good things about the boy but Edd said no so good enough for me.

{Ed007's Note - Any other game and I'd be all for Arthur keeping his place in the team but I just don't want to throw the lad in at the deep and would rather go with players who have been over the course a bit more.}

06 Mar 2026 16:27:17
You could be right Ed but is Trusty good enough with the ball on the left side.

It is a risk with the young guy but he looks to have a great temperament. The way he covered behind the backline and swept up behind our defenders was very impressive.

He is also deceptively quick.

I think MON will think like you and go for experience and put Trusty back in.

As long as KS is not back in goals. It is time to leave Sinassalo wirh the jersey.

{Ed007's Note - 👍🏻👍🏻

06 Mar 2026 08:52:10
I think for the 1st half of this season the vast majority of us would have had Scales as favourite for our player of the year. But i think as the season has went on its got to be Nygren now. I don't think anyone has come close to contributing what he has this season.
I think it has taken most of us (me included) a while to take to him but there is definetly a good player in there.
For the 1st half of the season he was being played either out wide or deeper beside mcgregor.

But its been clear to see he is by far at his most effective just behind a CF. Play him to his strengths and he will be a top player.
Reminds me of Tom Rogic only perhaps more consistent.
I would be trying to build a team around Nygren and Engels. Put better players beside these two and they will only get better too.
Nygren ahead of Scales and Araujo for POTY for me.

06 Mar 2026 11:16:15
It was telling that MON singled out Nygren in his farewell speech in December, telling him he's got what it takes to be a top player.

06 Mar 2026 11:45:27
Nygren doesn’t have any challengers which says loads about this season.

06 Mar 2026 12:31:44
Scales?

06 Mar 2026 19:50:27
That shows how bad a season we have had when Scales is mentioned for POTY. in my opinion our team started to go downhill when we started playing and signing players like Scales. He should be a squad player at thr most.

{Ed007's Note - And yet we wasted millions on players that manager after manager didn't deem good enough and Scales is still a first choice - and I'd have Scales all day every day against any team in the world rather than CCV.}
