PROPER FOOTBALL

Whatever you have planned for tonight Cancel them
Instead tune in at 8pm tonight to watch PSG v Bayern Munich.

28 Apr 2026 18:57:00
Different level Tim 2 great teams and the winner of the cl should come from either one.

28 Apr 2026 21:05:00
Great game. Shocking penalty decision.

28 Apr 2026 21:21:04
What a side PSG are🤩.

28 Apr 2026 22:05:53
That used to be Celtic’s philosophy, lose a couple score a lot. You have to spend time in the opposition box to score, something that’s lost on our current playing staff.

29 Apr 2026 08:53:28
Oh to have a forward half as good as Kane, 54 goals in all competitions so far.

28 Apr 2026 15:42:41
Celtic have not Won both Easter Road league meetings since the 2011/ 12 season when Rangers FC were still in existence.

Celtic actually Won 3 times at Easter Road that season.
Winning 2-0 and 5-0 in the league and 4-1 in the League Cup Quarter Finals.

Double Easter Road victories are long overdue and hopefully Celtic manage it this Sunday.

28 Apr 2026 19:17:00
I always enjoy your stats and factoids Buzzbomb until this one.

As you say though, now is the time to change it.

HH.

On this date in 2002,
A weakened Celtic side Won 4-1 at Tynecastle with the title already wrapped up weeks previously.

Simon Lynch playing his first game for Celtic in 18 months scored a first half double.
Shaun Maloney then scored a 2nd half double before Celtic received a last minute penalty.

The Celtic bench were shouting for Lynch to hit the penalty to score his first Celtic hat trick but Maloney wouldn’t give him the ball after a bit of wrestling.
Maloney who scored a hat trick earlier that season hit the post with the penalty.
Martin O’Neill mentioned after the match with a smile that our Captain Tom Boyd should’ve taken control of the situation.

28 Apr 2026 15:04:14
Strangely both Celtic and Rangers secured 8 In A Row on this date.

In 1973 Celtic won at Easter Road 3-0 on the last game of the season.
A Draw would’ve been enough for Celtic due to our superior goal difference but we turned on the style.

In 1996 Rangers came from behind to beat Aberdeen 3-1 at Ibrox on the 2nd last match of the season.
Celtic only lost one league game but too many Draws was the deciding factor.

28 Apr 2026 10:41:51
David Dickinson will be our referee at Easter Road on Sunday.
Don Robertson will be doing VAR.
Strange Robertson getting 2 Easter Road appointments in only 7 days especially after Sending Off 2 Hibs players.
Douglas Ross is a linesman.

Definitely last chance saloon with the two Bluenose Tynecastle appointments.
John Beaton will be the referee and Baby Dallas is doing VAR.

28 Apr 2026 11:34:58
You couldn't make it up especially Robertson and the red tory.

28 Apr 2026 13:15:42
The Lanarkshire Mafia are certainly going full throttle on their continued attempted match-fixing.

28 Apr 2026 14:52:09
At least that will mean Beaton nor Dickinson will get the referee appointment for the Glasgow Derby next week.

I believe Nick Walsh will be the referee for the Glasgow Derby.
He’s been given one referee and one VAR bottom 6 appointments before the big game next week I reckon.

28 Apr 2026 14:56:11
The SPFL have shat the bed and need more time for the away allocation decision.

28 Apr 2026 14:57:38
Hearts are up against it with the Beaton/ Dallas double act.

28 Apr 2026 16:15:18
Operation ā€˜get the Tribute act back in the race’ begins!

28 Apr 2026 06:19:52
I think a lot of fans have opinions on maybe changing formation ( don't see MON doing it now ) but for me every game I think a big part of our problem apart from the obvious lack of goals is the CM area. i'd love to see us try wether it be engles, ox or hatate where mcgregor plays now and move mchregor further forward. for me mcgregor is far more influential in the role he played before broony left and we've tried making him into the broony type player.

I know mcgregor is getting on in age, but for me he'd be far more influential in the team being right in the mix. he used to dominate most games in that midfield area and if we could get that mcgregor going in there we could see a more effective Celtic midfield. HH.

What are people's thoughts on chances of winning the league? Percentage wise. I go 50/ 50. I know it might be daft to ask, given there may be twists and turns. I can't see us winning every game. but no one will.

{Ed007's Note - 100% and has been for months.

28 Apr 2026 09:31:58
I have said recently that I don’t think we will win it.

Guys like Edd, Buzz and DC have been consistent in their views that we would win it.

I pray to god they are shoving it right up me come the end of the season.

I still say we are a very poor team though.

28 Apr 2026 10:41:49
I think we'll win it. Would love to see a decider between us and Hearts and us to win it in the 90th minute and see McInnes personnaly lose it.

28 Apr 2026 10:42:42
Ed believes. I think Blueco 2012 are done. i'd love us to win it last day.

28 Apr 2026 10:48:27
I am more worried about what we will look like next season than if we will win the league.

3 players who realistically should not be in our first team, get new contracts. 2 of them longterm contracts on more money. The other as a thank you for all your service.

We also have many players loaned out to come back, who also should not be near the first team.

How are we going to realistically clear out all the squad fillers before we get in new, better players, or is that what we are looking at, Scales and McCowan are first team players for next season and they are the level we are now aspiring to.

Really worrying demonstration of forward planning for me of where we may be heading, before we have a new Manager, who may not see them as first team players.

Scales could realistically be here for another 4 years on good money as a squad filler.

We are bulging with squad filters who we may not be able to get rid of and if we cannot get rid, financially that is suicide.

Whoever agreed to these new contracts has really created a problem for the next Manager and for the club moving forward ( or backwards as the case is) .

Really perplexing for me.

28 Apr 2026 11:01:01
Its not a case of shoving it right up you mate, we are a poor team and I still think hearts will win it as a thit them playing Motherwell was a league changer for me. reading other bhoys comments on being positive is great to read and a hope and pray they are right, perfect world Us baby buns then cream buns šŸ™.

28 Apr 2026 11:31:13
Hearts have beaten Hibs 3 times this season but yet they have only been ahead for 6 minutes in total.
Winners in 86 mins, 88 mins and injury time.
Hibs have been ahead for 145 mins but only have one victory.

27 Apr 2026 16:58:12
Motherwell- tactically team are having a mare against them, us, sevvies and I think hearts will, for me they know how to play ball about neatly at back and into 2 in midfield, draw a press and go long, when they go long there usually man for man as well and support rushed forward, looks great but I think I can see through it, simply don’t press the way they want us too, press without exposing anyone or any area, they will eventually go long and lose ball, it was very evident at parkhead and we struggled both times, I don’t think any of our last opponents have the running in them that Falkirk did Saturday and we matched them all the way,

27 Apr 2026 19:42:16
My son is a motherwell fan ( actually Chelsea) but he takes in the games here. I've been to the last few motherwell home games ( hibs, Falkirk) probably 2 of their worst performance all season. Their back passing is worse than ours, putting keeper in unesasery pressure. Their own fans hound o'donnell. Just floats about without determination or instinct. Maybe just those two games but.

27 Apr 2026 20:10:16
Delbhoy 88

You have failed as a father šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜… (Chelsea)

27 Apr 2026 18:38:06
Think we can get at least a victory and a draw when we play the new club and the jambos. Brickin' it at the thought of going to Fir park. I think we'll win at Hibs.

27 Apr 2026 20:05:21
I think we beat Hibs, sevco beat hearts,

Then well beat hearts, we beat sevco

This would put us 3 clear hearts and 4 clear of sevvies,

Well away if play tactically we can come away without losing, I think both other 2 could drop points Same night we play well.

27 Apr 2026 22:28:42
I have not had the sh#ts like this since the lead up to St. Johnstone in '98!

27 Apr 2026 13:14:17
I appreciate it’s all ā€˜ifs n buts’ just now re the points tally and games remaining for the 3 teams. But my preference is if we beat Hibs next week then I would want the diets to beat the tribute act the following day. Reason being, that then effectively ends their chances of winning the league (massive relief for me) , and although we would remain 3 points behind the diets they still have to travel to Fir Park and to us as well as Falkirk at home and I believe they will drop in excess of the 3 points in those last 3 games.

Getting the tribute out of the race, and the chance of CL monies next season, is huge.

27 Apr 2026 13:51:46
Our away form has been very patchy all season and the games at Easter Road and Fir Park will make or break our challenge.
With players coming back from injury and Maeda looking feisty and focused the team couldn't pick a better time to finally find some form.

27 Apr 2026 13:58:29
A draw for me both teams drop 2 points.

27 Apr 2026 16:36:41
A draw imo is best result for us.

27 Apr 2026 18:31:41
They play TavPen as their CF so that he can constantly fall in the box.

27 Apr 2026 17:47:32
Am thinking same as yOu Rogicion.

27 Apr 2026 10:11:24
Season ticket renewal soon I'd rather we didn't announce the new manager till the season was over so not to distract the players but then how do you renew when you don't know what you're buying, tricky one.

27 Apr 2026 07:05:00
Elliott watt.

Yes or no.

Yes.

27 Apr 2026 08:28:31
Definitely he's had a great season.

27 Apr 2026 09:16:30
Think he'd be a good signing, think he has another level, likes to get on the ball and play, just my opinion but thers a lot more better opinions than mine.

27 Apr 2026 17:11:48
I watched Slattery playing yesterday for Motherwell and he has a lot of good attributes, better player than a lot of our midfielders. Decent replacement for Hatate, Bernardo or McCowan. Technically very good and has a bit of grit about him.

27 Apr 2026 18:28:15
I pop a cheeky bid in for the boy Wilson from Falkirk.
