ED007 (YES It's ME, new laptop not recognising any of my passwords groan)
Are there any truths in these stories about the Guincamp defender Sidibe and also the Strelec stories about bids being put in
I am sceptical because our Board do not move this quickly or early.
{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any bids for anyone going in, Timbo but Celtic asked Slovan Bratislava to be kept up to date with David Strelec's situation after he didn't get his move in January - we couldn't agree a fee - even though his club expected him to leave, they wanted €11m which nobody was willing to pay.
Kalidou Sidibe is a monster of a CDM standing at 6ft 7, he ticks a lot of boxes in what a lot of supporters are screaming out for to be added to the midfield.}

Cheers ED007 what I found amazing is prices quoted for Sidibe under £2m.
{Ed007's Note - He enters the final year of his contract this summer.}

6"6 might be what we've been looking for.

A monster of a CDM - he'd be of no use to us ? ? ?

I see all the "it's not good for the game" quotes are surfacing again about Celtic potentially winning another Treble.
In the Daily Mail they say "Celtic are on course for another "TEDIOUS" treble
Isn't it funny how these quotes ALWAYS involve when Celtic are successful.
1.) 22 Apr 2025 14:41:49
So true Tim. The only time in my life I've seen them dominate was the 90's They boasted of having a team for the league. A team for the cups and europe. Having the most money. You never heard it was bad for the game back then!
2.) 22 Apr 2025 14:44:01
It's so, so predictable and reflects their pain. anger and frustration in relation to their tribute act club.
I guarantee there will be plans for league reconstruction soon anaw.
3.) 22 Apr 2025 14:51:36
Yeah winning all these tedious trebles is so boring. ?.
4.) 22 Apr 2025 15:38:57
I love to see it. Every angle they come up with just makes me enjoy our total dominance more?.
5.) 22 Apr 2025 16:07:58
We have already won the league, it is just a matter of when and by how many points. Hopefully we do it this weekend to make it mathematically impossible to catch us. We could probably go into administration, get 15 point deduction and still win it. ?
Sevco are joint with Vale of Leven on number of major trophies won in Scotland. ?.
6.) 22 Apr 2025 16:50:32
Also our success is because there rubbish just now that’s another one they always hit out with. Our success is because of us as a club and what we do as a club there rubbish because of what they are as a club and what they did as a club fact.
7.) 22 Apr 2025 17:00:21
We were rubbish when their old incarnation won 9 in a row but it did not seem to diminish their achievement. ?.
8.) 22 Apr 2025 18:46:34
In the 1990s,
Celtic only finished 2nd in the league Twice during Rangers 9 in a row era.
It happened in the last 2 seasons when Celtic played in our new stadium.
It was then 3rd time lucky when Celtic stopped the 10.
Rangers and Sevco combined actually finished 2nd on three occasions during our latest 9 in a row.
Rangers in our 1st title and then Sevco when we won our 8th and 9th title in a row.
I agree there’s not much competition in Scotland for Celtic but it was the same in the 1990s for Rangers.
The difference being is - Rangers bottled the chance to win a 1st ever Scottish Double Treble when they dominated Scottish Football.
Celtic deserve huge credit for constantly winning these one off Hampden games over a now lengthy period of time.
It’s remarkable ?.
9.) 22 Apr 2025 17:03:51
We never heard a dickie bird's tweet about Old Coal and their monotonous stream of EBT signings, whilst we were all wondering where the Cash Cow was. That is one reason why I want Celtic to continue to smash every record and crush every team. Never ease up Bhoys and sky's the limit.

I always enjoy timalloys comments after he's read the Celtic blog. Like clockwork.

I think it should go back to an 18 team league, think it would raise the standard of Scottish football, this playing each other often, is not good, if there was more smaller teams in the league, every game against one of the big teams would be like a cup final for them, and it would keep the big teams on their toes.
13.) 23 Apr 2025 17:07:24
How would lowering the TV money, lowering the interest in the league, lowering prize money and lowering gate receipts raise the standard of our league?
What you need to remember is the TV deal has a clause ensuring 4 Glasgow derbies. That is what the TV companies request and if they are not given that the TV deal will diminish as none of the other fixtures have a commercial value to them. TV companies make most of their money from advertising, so they want high numbers of viewers to raise that income. Sadly the viewing figures are low for all the other games, especially ones that don't involve either Glasgow teams.
14.) 23 Apr 2025 17:16:09
Aindoh, if we return to an 18 team league we will have 17 wee teams playing six or eight players deep in defence . Rely on the referees all, trained in the one area of Scotland and members of Orange Orders, to give them free kicks and throw - ins to launch into our area hoping for a goal chance .
The poor standard we have in SPL with 12 teams woul be destroyed by 18, relegated teams would immediately come back up, as the Championship would be robbed of all quality.
15.) 23 Apr 2025 20:35:37
It must be worrying for the SMSM who find Celtic winning frequent trebles tedious, that there doesn’t seem to be anything to stop Celtic . God be with the good old days at the turn of the century where highly respected Orange men like H Dallas, Mike Mc Curry Willie Young, Dougie MacDonald and David Somers, with a blow of whistle they could give Rangers a pen, or disallowed a Celtic goal with full support of the SMSM.
Nowadays although they still manage to cheat in favour of Rangers, the favourite club of SFA, SPL and referees, who sometimes have difficulties with VAR officials, can still manage to stop the play and hinder the better team, can allow tackles on Celtic outside pen area go unpunished, With Scottish referees with the will to help Rangers they will always find a way.
16.) 23 Apr 2025 21:26:25
Well, when we had an 18 team league before, it was the most successful period in Europe for Scottish clubs, maybe more young Scottish players would make the break thru, too many gets so far at the minute, but then they are denied first team football, and their development is stalled or abandoned all together, with more smaller teams more younger players would get a chance to play against top opposition, the smaller teams could become a breeding ground for emerging talent.
17.) 25 Apr 2025 07:14:56
You sound like Donald trump @aindoh, when he bangs on about tariffs and how great America was when they had tariffs. ?
What you both need to remember is the world has changed considerably since those days and doing things the same way as in the past won't take you back to those halcyon days.
Having an 18 team league is a complete non starter as the smaller SPFL clubs are reliant on the TV money. They can't afford to lose that money and they certainly don't want to share it withe teams in the lower leagues.
In addition, the TV companies have no desire for an 18 team league as they are only interested in having 4 Glasgow derbies each season. If they lost that we would end up with a reduced TV deal or no TV deal.
On top of that there would be 4 less games for every team if we moved to an 18 team league. Not only that, those teams would lose an extra visit from both Celtic and Sevco each season. All of this would cost the clubs money.
Then we have the issue of prize money, every club would get less as the pie would be the same size or less but would be getting split between more people.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of the current setup either and I would also like to see improvements in our league standard. However, if we want to see an improvement we need to look at solutions that increase revenue not reduce it.

The Scottish PFA named their Team of the Season today with 7 Celtic players in it and wait for it, TWO Sevco players Raskin and Souttar
They will claim that the players sent in their votes but who counts these said votes a certain Fraser Wishart as big a current as there is
I rest my case.
18 Apr 2025 21:15:25
The Record really does print some MINCE
Apparently Cerny (YES HIM WITH WATER BOTTLE) is coming to Celtic well when he runs out at Celtic Park 60,000 fans can dowse him with HOLY WATER
Not to be outdone another reporter says Big Ange going to Ibrox and will start YEARS OF SEVCO DOMINATION ach that will "SPUR" on their fans.
1.) 18 Apr 2025 22:17:36
I hope big Ange wins the Europa League.
He can then continue to blow his winning a trophy in his 2nd season trumpet ?.
{Ed007's Note - I thought of that last night when I seen they went through.}

ED007 and Buzz looks like the young Czech goalkeeper will be getting plenty of game time, despite Brendan not giving him game time in cup games.
Also I heard Maeda had a bruised leg but still wanted to play for Japan today
We could have a few walking wounded returning to Celtic Park this week.

Guys I think at least 3/ 4 players will move on including at least one big name, that is what our Board do to partly fund new players, Hatate is the name being mentioned this year. Say we get £15m ish
for him, then there is talk of us getting £5m from sell on clause of Frimpong, let's imagine 5 new players come in, we would probably have to add at least another £10m so a budget of £30m for 5 players is reasonable, as they will not all be £10m players.
A mixture of up and coming players and experienced players.
26 Apr 2025 15:38:37
Wee Joe they used to be called Dundee HIBS.

Mally, sadly I do not share your optimism our Board will do what it always does ie SELL one or two big name players moment window opens, then FAFF ABOUT until near end of window, when price of players we want will rise, then they will go for a cheaper player.

I worked with Tommy a good bloke and he was better than Arbroath.
