If there's any fan on here going to the meeting on Monday could they complain that the roof is badly leaking in the North stand, I have sent 2 emails and still waiting on a reply, we were soaked at the hibs gane, the stadium needs serious tlc and the banner round rhe stadium lying on the ground is embarrassing, Nicholson talks about enhancing the match day experience who's he trying to kid.
05 Oct 2025 10:38:38
Yet we gave millions to HMRC 🤷.
05 Oct 2025 10:38:45
With Celtic not playing for the next fortnight after today,
There’s time to have a couple of meetings with plenty of topics to discuss.
I think the Board neglecting the team and their very poor relationship with our fans will be top of the list though.
05 Oct 2025 07:04:08
Guys, a lot has beenade recently about Celtic Park being 'Tired'. I totally agree. A couple of million is required to at least get the face and Celtic Way back up to scratch. My point is this. Going to Blackpool in March for my birthday. I know it's a bit away but I like to plan. Stay with me. Blackpool away that day but Fleetwood town are at home. My plan is to go to their game v Tranmere Rovers then back for a comedy night. Fleetwood Town website puts us to shame! The visuals etc. We are so behind the curve it's unreal. Just saying. HH.
05 Oct 2025 09:29:16
There were so many better ways to spend the 12 million we paid in tax.
If we had spent most of our profits we could have progressed the team and other parts of the club, rather than paying taxes which does not aid the team or club in anyway.
05 Oct 2025 10:07:50
The Board and major dhareholder (s) are far too self-serving and blinkered to move from their fat-cat comfort zone. They lack the foresight, endeavour and ambition to allow Celtic to reach our full potential. I reckon their incompetence - particularly this season would not be tolerated in any other industry.
05 Oct 2025 10:30:53
Celtic have the extra cash due to playing in 3 consecutive Champions League campaigns which Sevco helped us get.
It was embarrassing last year to see that Sevco had actually more than doubled our European Coefficient points over a 5 year period yet Celtic were the club that was cashing in.
Yes Celtic did the easy part by winning the Scottish title but I very much doubt Celtic would’ve reached all 3 CL Groups/ League through the Qualifiers.
Yet for some reason the Celtic Board have worse than stalled this season because they have chosen to downsize our club - Why?
05 Oct 2025 12:23:47
There’s a question we’d all like answered. Can’t just be arrogance and complacency, it’s been going on far too long, but does anyone really expect an honest answer from the grey men? Did Dominic McKay refuse to keep to the script? There is far too much secrecy surrounding this institution, AGMs are a stage managed scripted farce and most fans have just had enough of the bull.
04 Oct 2025 16:59:40
Tough game tomorrow motherwell much improved.
05 Oct 2025 00:31:01
Since Motherwell lost exactly 6 months ago ( April 5th ) their record is -
Played 18
Won 10
Drawn 7
Lost only 1 game away to Hearts after the split last season.
05 Oct 2025 08:35:53
Celtic also lost that same weekend 6 months ago away to St. Johnstone.
Since then we have lost twice on penalties and then against Braga on Thursday.
04 Oct 2025 19:38:40
A few players from Hearts and Hibs would walk into our team at the moment. Not saying they are great shakes but our team is so poor it's a fact.
04 Oct 2025 20:51:40
Aye who?
04 Oct 2025 22:28:23
Then they realise the Celtic jersey doesn’t shrink to fit inferior players.
04 Oct 2025 23:03:24
Two poor teams hoofing it for 90 minutes. I'd take my chances with the squad we've got. We've got too many good players to be rotten all season.
05 Oct 2025 00:29:01
Buzz sadly when you have a good look around our squad i'm sad to say the jersey does actually shrink after all.
05 Oct 2025 07:08:27
The boy Bowie has a long way to go and is having a poor season so far.
05 Oct 2025 08:42:05
True Limerick 👍.
05 Oct 2025 09:36:22
I’d take Boyle for a start, looked very lively yesterday.
05 Oct 2025 10:58:23
Our squad is perfectly capable of winning the League. That's just a fact. The fly in the ointment of that drsrement, is the absence of form across the squad, with very few exceptions. Including the manager, especially the manager.
When the midfield starting trio, have been woeful for months, he still picks them. Think what that does to the morale of those not given a chance. Then when they do start they need to be Pirlo from the off.
Our board of dithering, ambitionless twats torpedoed our European hope and heads and attitudes need to roll. But, Rogers still has the best squad, but can do nothing with it. His football these last 8 months is criminally boring to watch. Turgid, pointless and toothless.
We are worried about today. Let that sink in. Their whole first team earn in a week what McGreggor takes home.
There is an excuse for being second rate in Europe. There is none for losing the league.
I'm actually optimistic about the result today, not as much about the performance.
Donovan and Scarachi need to start. The midfield needs to get it's finger out. He won't drop McGreggor. Imagine if Bernardo had been picked week in, week out for months and turned in the same performances, would he play?
Hopefully today Calum will stop pointing forward, and actually go forward. You're the effin captain, Read by example and stop passing the bucket and telling your team mates to do what you should have done.
Its time to step up son.
05 Oct 2025 13:56:46
Would love it if our manager had the baws to actually change something. Dropping our overrated captain would be a start.
05 Oct 2025 14:01:05
Chinks who? I watched the game and it was poor from both sides and Hearts are in top form! If we pick up our speed of play with better passing and more clinical finishing im not overly concerned about Hearts. they will eventually tail off with performance levels and like Aberdeen last season will struggle to pick up their form again but once we start ticking we know what happens. As for players in the hibs team don't make me laugh, folk spoke of the lad Bowie now that's a few times i've seen him, he’s got a long way to go before he’s good enough to be a Celtic striker, decent prospect but not ready for the weight of being a Celtic player. I’d maybe take Boyle at a push as he would offer something on the right side of the attack but like i said that would be at a push. HH.
04 Oct 2025 16:59:40
Tough game tomorrow motherwell much improved.
04 Oct 2025 19:34:06
And we've gone much the other way I'm afraid. so agree Mal.
04 Oct 2025 19:46:49
I was expecting a good attacking game against Hibs last week but they just sat behind the ball.
I’m sure Motherwell will make it a better spectacle tomorrow because I think they will try and beat us at our own game.
Motherwell have the 3rd highest possession rate in the league behind Celtic and Sevco.
04 Oct 2025 20:09:47
What an absolute farce that we are legitimately not sure if we will beat Mothereffingwell at home.
And the worst part? No one is surprised, that a club our size, with nearly £80m in the bank, have descended to a level, where they are absolutely embarrassing the Hoops.
Not one of us. We have seen it all multiple times. The same cowardice and incompetence at board level. Players chucking it. Players bottling it. They all need their arses kicked.
04 Oct 2025 21:20:01
i keep saying this about todays support the never lived in the real bad days of the fifties and early sixties a few bad games and they want everybody out the door where is the support when the team need yous most all the suport are doing right now is underminding the player convidence get behind them right from the start every banner put up should be how we support the celtic football team thruogh thick and thin just not on the good times a fan for 75 years
always will be till the end hh.
{Ed007's Note - To be fair mate, supporters that were alive in the 50's & 60's are "old men", I'm 51 and feel a disconnect with a lot of the younger/new/next generation of Celtic fan and I'm apparently "woke" etc
There's a good mix of different age groups and perspectives on here, but no matter age etc we're never going to agree on everything.}
04 Oct 2025 23:07:18
I agree with the sentiment of backing the team but just showing up to support doesn't achieve change. The club is run in a way that keeps us miles off our full potential and something's got to give, pure and simple.
04 Oct 2025 23:41:43
It is the board that I want out the door. 🤣.
05 Oct 2025 09:49:23
Fine line between faithful through and through and being the gullibles as we called sevco fans. The unrest now isn’t a sudden thing, it is a result of failure to progress over a culmination of years, but especially now when the funds are available to do so. Regardless of age or era, the way this club/ business is run needs to change and modernise. Unfortunately no one believes those currently in charge have the intuition or ability to facilitate that.
04 Oct 2025 19:17:10
So, Russell Martin walks into a bank in Glasgow. and says: "I'd like to withdraw £8,000 please".
The teller replies "Certainly sir! All I need is to see some identification. "
Martin replies
"This is really embarrassing but I don't have any I. D. on me. "
"However I am Russell Martin and you can ask anybody around here. They will tell you who I am. "
The teller replies sternly, "I know who you are sir but I still need some sort of proof of identification, rules are rules. "
Martin asks "is there really nothing you can do? "
The teller says
"Well. There is one thing as a number of years ago we had this same situation with Kasper Schmeikel who came in without any form of I. D. to prove who he was.
So he said he would prove it by doing something an impostor couldn't possibly do. and he set a football down in the street outside then proceeded to kick it as hard as he possibly could. He kicked the ball so far, we knew it had to be him. "
Russell replies: "Interesting. Were there any other cases? "
The teller smiles and says, "Yes actually.
About four months ago we had Daizen Maeda with same problem again.
So Maeda proceeds to put the ball on the floor, and starts juggling it with his feet, does a number of tricks then plants the ball on top of the security camera so we knew it absolutely had to be him.
"So Sir, is there anything you could do to prove to us who you are? " the teller asks.
Martin stops to think for a minute. He shakes his head and replies
"I can't think of anything at all. "
"I'm not sure if there's a solution here as I'm honestly, drawing a blank and don't have a clue what to do. "
The teller asks "Mr. Martin, will that be large or small notes sir? "
I'll get my coat.
(Please remember it's a wee joke not related to current form)
{Ed007's Note - Going by the name and the pi$$ poor joke I think I maybe doing a Davina McCall and getting Timbo and his long lost son back together!!}
04 Oct 2025 19:34:48
I started to read and thought Timbo.
{Ed007's Note - 😂😂😂😂
04 Oct 2025 20:53:56
ED007 I may not post as much these days but I am always around
People kept casting aspersions on Bob Monkhouse and his jokes, but he lasted 50 years and his jokes are still out there, I know because I still use them lol
Remember my joke book is almost extensive so be careful, or I will flood your pages ED007 with 20 years worth of the ORIGINAL Timalloy jokes, in TRIPLICATE.
{Ed007's Note - Don't you dare compare yourself to Bob Monkhouse!!!! 😂🍀
04 Oct 2025 22:55:09
Tim I can recall Bob Monkhouse's joke book leaving his possession and landing in someone else's possession without his knowledge (don't want to use the stole word) . Your jokes didn't by any chance come from his book Tim? lol.
04 Oct 2025 23:43:53
I will give Timalloy and tinytim their dues, they are both funnier than Michael McIntyre. 🤣.
05 Oct 2025 00:27:01
Naw Stengo. I just seen and thought it was worth a chuckle (especially after that midweek performance)
I met Monkhouse once.
I was working on an oil rig off Great Yarmouth and was at the heliport/ airport waiting for crew change chopper to take us offshore.
Bob, Jimmy Tarbuck and Frank Carson were getting a flight to Blackpool for a celebrity golf tourney.
Carson was cracking jokes non-stop.
Tarby said that Frank was like that from the minute he wakened up.
Only had a short spell as we flew out first.
05 Oct 2025 09:50:53
Tim, was at Blackpool a goof few years ago and went to see Frank Carson who was p$ss poor with the same jokes recycled since I was about 5 -about 65 odd years ago. The one who did it for me that night was Linda Nolan who jumped from the stage and sat on the guy's lap who was sitting next to me. Jeezus even that was feckin dream like. If only I was in 5 minutes earlier and had sat in his seat. she would probably have sat on someone elses.
04 Oct 2025 11:54:57
Would we rather do away with VAR and the dodgy anti-Celtic calls - or go back to the on-field "honest" mistakes?
04 Oct 2025 13:06:40
Stengo, so European officials are anti Celtic now?
It was a terrible decision tho.
04 Oct 2025 13:40:34
The honest mistakes are still rife in everyday play regarding the low award of and multiple concession of free kicks, yellow cards etc. However, I don't think we would have got that penalty against Kilmarnock without VAR, and even though we may suffer similar bizarre decisions like Thursday night I think those are in the minority.
04 Oct 2025 15:03:26
I miss celebrating a goal like Thursday without the chance it could get disallowed.
04 Oct 2025 15:19:10
Thinking of the derby games, we've had our fair share of Var decisions. I'm not buying into this anti Celtic narrative in a Var context.
04 Oct 2025 15:41:36
I'm sure you could get ai to operate the AI in real time.
04 Oct 2025 16:14:22
AI to operate the VAR.
04 Oct 2025 16:58:57
That was a joke the other night.
04 Oct 2025 16:58:57
That was a joke the other night.
05 Oct 2025 13:13:31
I would get rid of VAR - mistakes were always part of the game and VAR is far too slow.
04 Oct 2025 11:24:15
Notwithstanding the Board's culpability for the situation we find ourselves in, I think tomorrow's game is a huge game for BR in terms of getting the fans back onside with him. There is no doubt fans, some of whom were great supporters of him, have started to point the finger given the abject performances with the players he has at his disposal.
His tactics and player selection is rightly being questioned, not to mention the regression in players like McGregor, Maeda, Hatate, and Engels.
Anything less than a convincing win tomorrow will only add to the finger pointing and the toxic narrative around the whole club.
04 Oct 2025 11:34:09
I’ve previously also thought that Brendan was superb with his team selections and especially his substitution choices but this season I’ve been scratching my head with both.
We can all blame the Celtic Board but Brendan also hasn’t helped himself this season with his poor choices.
04 Oct 2025 11:40:38
maeda improved under brendan look at the season he had last season this season is nothing to do with the manger in terms of maeda he just wants out the club same reason kyogo went off the boil and same reason hatate goes how and cold the japense boys want to move on.
{Ed007's Note - Did Maeda really have a good season or just hit a six month purple patch a la Khun? Daizen had only managed 2 league goals by Christmas last year and let's be honest the player we're seeing now is the the same player we'd been watching since he came in, plenty of energy and running but when he gets the ball he doesn't do much with it. Since Maeda came in how many times did we talk about if he could actually play football he'd be at a "big" club 100%.
The summer was the perfect time to sell Maeda for everyone but I wouldn't imagine his poor form will have any affect on his transfer fee as some people are suggesting, it doesn't work like that.}
04 Oct 2025 13:46:46
Maeda never had a prolific season prior to last term and I think that may have been partly due to him trying to attract interest.
What has been lacking goals-apart, is his tremendous work rate and chasing and I also think he is conceding more daft free kicks.
I know the manager won't do this, but I would like to see a front three of Tounekti, Iheanacho and Nygren.
04 Oct 2025 15:06:52
Completely agree Ed i have said it from day one i like him for his energy and closing down etc but when he gets the ball at his feet he can't do much due to his limited ability, he’s a winger that can’t cross a ball no matter which side he plays, his ball control is shocking for someone his age and experience and don’t get me started on his finishing my 14 year old nephew who plays as a RB can finish better than him. I’d drop him from now until he leaves as he’s producing absolutely nothing for us so we would be as well playing Yang he might give us more in terms of a dynamic up top.
{Ed007's Note - 👍👍
05 Oct 2025 11:51:46
Maeda was much better under Ange, so I can't see how anyone can say Brendan improved him.
04 Oct 2025 06:28:38
At least we know there will be no euro football after Xmas we can concentrate on the league 😭.
{Ed007's Note - Apart from the Bologna & Utrecht games at the end of January.
04 Oct 2025 10:54:00
No winter break again this season.
04 Oct 2025 10:59:31
Is it the amount of International Breaks that has banjo'd the winter shutdown?
04 Oct 2025 11:40:56
Celtic Mad,
It only stopped when the new European league format started.
It would mean playing our 7th European League match without actually playing a competitive game for 3 weeks if there was a winter break.
I would still rather have a winter break.
04 Oct 2025 05:25:03
I expect to see a changed lineup this weekend. You’d have to think Rodgers has gone thru a few people. Schmeichel for one has been brilliant but he needs dropped to either regain his confidence and desire etc. and a few other guys could and should see the same Macgregor . Something drastic needs to happen.
04 Oct 2025 10:53:14
I hope to see Sinisalo, Ralston and Saracchi starting at the back.
I would keep Nygren away from playing the number 8 role.
But I would play Nygren wide on the right for the first time since his MOTM performance against Livingston.
I would also like to see Maeda starting through the middle with Tounekti on the left.
I don’t expect to see Iheanacho starting after playing the full 90 minutes for the first time in quite a while only a few days ago.
Those front 3 I want to start were all substituted on Thursday so they’re not being overplayed.
04 Oct 2025 13:21:03
I would agree with that apert from I would start Maeda on the left, and start Ian Acho in the middle, and when he tires, I would bring Kenny on.
04 Oct 2025 17:06:15
Agree Buzz, I honestly think that is the best balance we have in the forward line atm which will create the most chances. Who would be your three in midfield?
