Dominik Livakovic is available again. We should be doing everything in our power to sign him up.

09 Jan 2026 09:35:52
Kieron Bowie as a MON type striker, but is he at the level we need? He might get there but like Ewan Ferguson/ K Nisbet he was labeled as the next big thing but hasn't kicked on.

Maloney has plenty Hibs connections so i'm sure he will be well placed to judge. We do need someone of his mould, GG etc as we are a lightweight team across the park.

09 Jan 2026 13:27:08
I like him Chinks and I'd like us to sign him but, for me, he'd be a back up to someone who can come in and average close to a goal a game.

Morning lads. how has Nicholdon escaped the shambolic appointment of Wilfred Nancy? On the club tv he used a phrase along the lines of " he was thee outstanding candidate" or something similar to that. we all hear the stories of how Tisdale was a big influence on bringing him to the club, which if true wouldn't surprise me in the slightest given the dross brought in during his time at the club, but as CEO, surely he has some influence and say on who gets the managers job What homework if any did he do on Nancy, or was it just simply go along with a guy who's eye for talent is that bad a junior outfit wouldn't hire him to talent spot.

cannot believe this man has escaped the bullet. as for Kyogo, would O'Neil get the best from him? I'd put money on it, but to consider even bringing him back just goes to show the level of how bad the recruitment/ scouting work that's gone on for a good while now at the club if that's the best we can come up with.

Excellent recent posts about our chances of winning the league now—whether favourites or third-placed outsiders—caught my attention. I wonder if anyone agrees that football has ceased to be primarily a sporting contest, and has increasingly become an economic contest? That makes it an input-output problem, primarily.

If so, to win the league, we only need to spend some of that surplus cash with a degree of acumen and efficiency. No other team has that sort of reserve. If we spend some money relatively wisely, we ought to win the league nae bother.

Nicholson and Co could spend £70 million on numerous players and all would be duds with hid record!

It's always about signing the right players, transfer fee is irrelevant!

Matchday 20 - Quick Round Up

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Matchday 20 - Quick Round Up

Even if players are identified, do any of us trust MN to do his job and get them in.

Thats 9 days of the window and realistically we have no oven ready players in. They should have been identified weeks and weeks ago and official moves made by now, but we are stuck in the will he, won't he, Kyogo saga.

If he has doubts we should move on, simple as that.

MON deserves to be supported after dragging us back from the edge once and now he is back doing it again hopefully.

Just because he was successful last time does not mean these same players are capable of winning the title and they need help.

It is a deriliction of duty by MN if MON is not properly supported and if he isn't, MN has to go. He is clearly out of his depth.

09 Jan 2026 09:22:54
Maybe martin and shaun want to to look at signings that where nearly agreed before the sacking and then make sure they get what they want?

09 Jan 2026 10:27:10
It's not rocket science. A physical spine added to the squad wins the league.

09 Jan 2026 10:09:05
Once again the "potless" Sevco get their business done quickly and without fuss, while we dither and delay on transfers.

After the summer fiasco and this season's collapse you'd think the BoD would have been looking to get ahead of the game for January. A world class board would?

09 Jan 2026 13:30:05
That's spot on Steff, if we could sign a GK, CB, DMF and a striker and we should have more than enough.

Incase of injuries etc, I'd feel better with a back up striker also.

09 Jan 2026 13:38:14
Steff I totally agree but MN apparently just wants a rb, which we have on loan, a right winger, which we now have in Ta Bi and 2 strikers.

I would also want a rcb and sitting midfielder.

The Canadian guy we identified under WN would suit and for 4 million a good deal but it sounds like we will not be getting him now.

Kyogo for me is a no as it is clear he doesn't want to come back in case it affects his chances playing in world Cup. He wasn't going anyway as his form at last 2 clubs have seen to that.

If he doesn't want to come back where he was loved, scored many goals then we move on and find other strikers. We owe him nothing.

Every Manager mentions the strong spine.

KS needs to leave and Sinssalo given a chance. Get in competition for Sinssalo.

Another rb is a must for me, as AR is not good enough, AJ is miles off being ready and the Mexican guy isn't match fit.

That leaves Donavon who in fairness hasn't let us down.

I think we will have to accept that we will not get 2 strikers taken in other than loan and that in itself is a worry about match fitness, goal to game ratio.

With MN as CEO we are not guaranteed what the team needs, just what he feels he needs to cover the cracks.

09 Jan 2026 15:19:26
Again Sevco will have overpaid for galacticos nonody else wants!

09 Jan 2026 06:11:12
It's clear to me and from what I've read tisdale was growing in influence at cp, the manager and players coming in where his and as such with his removal leaves us in a position that potential signings, shortlists of players need to be re-examined and re-discussed with mon and his staff, our club has failings but if mon gets some quality that could see us win league then so be it, on kyogo, we shout about not replacing him, i'm not happy with it but if there isn't better options then i'd support a player who scores some important goals for us, getting his best would be hopeful tho, imo mon would prob like a mobile 6ft plus target to play off of and someone who can stick ball in net, to be honest i'd imagine so did br, surely there's one out there, do we test Motherwell with manwanise bid? , do we jump to prem reserve/ subs for a loan needing football before a wc, whatever happens issues like us needing strategy and plans etc etc aren't getting sorted before end Jan, so no point in targets or signings being commented on negatively and being dissected etc, if we need them and there quality at this point I don't care, next manager hopefully will be chosen well in advance with plans put in place (Jesus hopefully)

09 Jan 2026 07:07:35
MON plays a quicker style of football so it would be better suited to Kyogo. MON may also want a 6ft plus ST like you say as well as he may want to go with 2 up top at times.

08 Jan 2026 21:16:53
@Ed 007 loving the green tick when we respond or post. Great addition.

{Ed007's Note - That's all down to Ed033, 👍👍 I think there's a load of changes happening or happened going forward. Then we'll want your money!!!! 😂😂

08 Jan 2026 20:56:39
Hopefully am wrong in writing this . But it looks like we are going to go with mostly loan signings in this window? . I personally do t like loan signings as you don't know what you are getting. We definitely need to spend a few quid as we are going to be left behind by the Sevconian and there cousins from Edinburgh as they look like they are going to bring a few players in .

our board needs to get the finger out and help Martin as we have been badly shown up lately because we lack quality in certain areas of the team.

08 Jan 2026 21:10:22
You don't know what you're getting with any signings whether it be permanent, loan, free or multi million pound tfansfers! With loans at least you can send them back if they turn out to be gash!
Sevco have been signing hunners of galacticos in the hope of " returning to where they belong" so what if they sign a few more? Oh and btw they'll be signing hunners more in the summer! 😉.

08 Jan 2026 21:58:17
Loans are fine if they work out.
Signings are better because if THEY work out and are good then, when the big money clubs come knocking, WE can make some cash through actual sale and possible additional revenue if they move further on.

08 Jan 2026 22:20:48
(1) we've got no footballing structure in place at the club
(2) we've got a temporary management team in place for the remainder of this season
(3) some loans may have a buying clause agreed in the deal.

09 Jan 2026 14:25:11
Think it needs to be loans to get decent players in - as long as Martin or Sean is involved I am content.

08 Jan 2026 19:58:51
We worry about scammers stealing our bank details while UEFA and the Spanish FA move both their semi finals to Jeddah. Who are the real scammers these days?

The World Cup is turning out to be a humongous scam with ticketing and all the logistics that go along with it. I looked into going to a couple of games in the States and couldn't get the bill under £4k after everything was paid.

Football has long become an embarrassingly shameful ponsi scheme for the shysters who run it.

09 Jan 2026 10:12:29
I'd say the players and their outrageous wages are at the very top of the Ponzi.

08 Jan 2026 19:17:59
Next move for the interim chairman will be to replace the CEO.

Like or dislike BW's politics, there is no doubting he is a smart and top operator.

08 Jan 2026 19:42:21
In the Interview with him and Nicholson
For Celtic tv BW made it clear what was most important for Celtic was to win games and since he's been in the job he's sacked tisdale Nancy and re-hired Nicholson is only still here because when he handed in his resignation he couldn't leave the club without both a chairman and ceo at the same time and hopefully he's gone by the summer he's employment has caused a lot of problems.

08 Jan 2026 18:43:25
I am Puzzled

I keep reading poster after poster on here saying "Celtic will win League this year"
What do you base this on, to win league a team must be consistent We are NOT, united on all fronts We ARE NOT, have momentum, we have NONE, signing better quality players, we are NOT
Hearts and Sevco have all those qualities and their Boards are backing them with HARD CASH, Our Board are STILL PENNY PINCHING
I hoped MON would chide Board into loosening the purse strings but it seems he is content to take whatever meagre offering Board gives him
No Celtic are THIRD FAVOURITES for Title unless this Board helps team BIG TIME.

08 Jan 2026 19:25:31
C'mon Tim, Hearts and Sevco don't have any qualities! Hearts are a wee diddy team and Sevco think they're back again because we stupily hired Nancy! We were what 10 -12 points ahead of them at one point.

They are trash and will be wanting rid of Rohl and their galacticos the next bad result! We will win the league like we always do because we are the biggest club with the biggest budget, the best squad and the best manager!

08 Jan 2026 19:32:59
I agree tim, hearts and the Rangers will get stronger this window, I honestly can't say if we will, hope to god we do but I believe this title will go down to the wire.

08 Jan 2026 19:43:26
Am with you Tim seriously worried and sevco a bigger threat than hearts, they're on the brink of spending 7m on 2 players, if everyone fit different story, iam hopeful due to Martin coming back but we need players, we'll have a better idea after window closes, BTW hearts have beat both teams twice home and away and are also signing players.

08 Jan 2026 19:53:36
A few reasons.
Celtic have had the most shots at goal in the league and a new striker who can score 10 league goals will be a massive game changer.

Celtic have conceded the least amount of shots on target and that's with our kamikaze defending.
I expect more clean sheets now with a back 4 and a good Manager.

I watched the last 30 minutes of the Hearts game on Saturday and they were a bag of nerves at home to the bottom club in January.
I've got no doubts their bottle will crash plus they don't have the players to win the league.

Sevco are going through a purple patch and the stats would suggest it's unsustainable.
Sevco have conceded 102 shots at goal in their last 8 league matches with 38 on target.
They have only conceded 4 goals in those games.
Celtic and Hearts have only conceded about 80 shots each in our last 8 league games and that's with our crazy formation at the back.

A near 90% save rate is not going to last.
Compare that to Celtic under Nancy when we only had a 51% save rate in all competitions.
That save rate will also not continue.
So expect the Sevco 90% to come down and the Celtic 51% to improve.

It won't be easy but I still expect Celtic to win the league and I wasn't surprised the Bookies made us favourites again when MON was appointed our new Manager.

08 Jan 2026 19:57:39
Stephen McGowan is saying that we are looking for 4 players this window, Ta Bi, who is a project (yet again) another right winger and 2 centre forwards.

We do not have a central midfielder is our plans apparently.

08 Jan 2026 20:00:35
Hearts are 4-0 up against Celtic and Rangers and if that continues then how do they get caught.

As it stands with MON back I still fail to see how we win games with a terrible defence, poor midfield and no striker.

I really worry that these players will not deliver and put a black mark on MON legacy at Celtic.

08 Jan 2026 20:14:27
We are in the worst position we have been in for years thanks to people and circumstances extremely well documented for months, . MON has been asked - twice - to salvage our season and as yet our Board/ Recruitment have yet to seriously back him and lay down a marker of intent that will at least encourage the support and give the opposition something to fear.

So far we have failed to beat Hearts AND Sevco in the league and the pressure is well ant truly on and that doesn't include 'honest mistakes' and fixture manipulation. Celtic have it all to do and the title is certainly not a foregone conclusion.

08 Jan 2026 20:20:41
Was Engels bought as a project?

08 Jan 2026 21:06:38
Engels was a regular starter in the Bundesliga.

08 Jan 2026 21:42:03
Behave Tim, just behave.

08 Jan 2026 21:46:36
The boy BI is a regular for his club. If a player isn't in the £10-£15m bracket does that make him a project?

08 Jan 2026 21:57:51
And has been a full Belgian international.

09 Jan 2026 00:09:35
I would class player a project who is playing at a much lower level than Celtic.
Celtic would then try and improve them to play at a higher level.
Engels was already playing at a higher level than Celtic hence why he isn't a project player.

O'Riley and Frimpong came as project signings but Celtic won a watch because they were better than we expected.
But sadly most projects take time and Celtic don't have that time in these next 5 months.

09 Jan 2026 01:31:40
It just annoys me Buzz when people moan about "project players" or class them as " projects" just because of their transfer fee.
There's no guarentee a player will work out regardless of the transfer fee paid. It's as if people just want us to splash over £10m on every player just to say look what we can do or just write players off because of the fee paid.

The best players in our history Larsson, Lubo, Van Dijk etc didn't cost the earth, and before anyone says "aye but much would Larsson be in today's money, well £650,000 in today's money is about £1.5m!
