DR reporting that adidas are ready to sign a new longterm deal to make our kits. £29m being reported.

Greentreee

1.) 03 Oct 2024 07:29:53
I’m sure I seen a post saying Puma were ready to pay more for our kit deal ( circa £7m a year on a 5 year deal )

2.) 03 Oct 2024 14:04:56
Think Adidas made 29m in sales from us but I would be happy going again with them.

3.) 04 Oct 2024 08:37:20
Think your right Mally. Intresting about Puma.

Let the biding begin.

4.) 05 Oct 2024 18:48:44
Would that be a case of 1 brother ( Puma ) that is trying to outbid the other brother ( adidas ) ?

{Ed007's Note - Someone put a link on the discord to an article saying that Celtic are currently rated B Premium in the way Adidas grade their teams, under the new deal we will be promoted to A Elite, this means Celtic will receive top level quality with all fancy technology kits etc and we will get the Trefoil logo on their third shirt, the Trefoil is the OG Adidas sign with the 3 points on it in case anyone isn't sure.
Us along with Liverpool, Newcastle & Roma will be promoted and joining Bayern Munich, Juventus, Man Utd & Arsenal at that Elite level.}

DR running a story from England saying we're interested in bring back Eddie.

Greentreee

1.) 26 Aug 2024 17:59:03
Got to remember he downed tools before he left. If he comes back he would need to significantly reduce his weekly wage, put a smile on his face and score plenty. Can you see this happening?

2.) 26 Aug 2024 18:02:34
We sold him for £14m - can't see CP looking at what Celtic would want to pay for him - there's better out there for less.

3.) 26 Aug 2024 18:26:30
Edouard would be a great signing.

4.) 26 Aug 2024 19:31:06
Nah. He downed tools on us. Celtic shouldn't give 2nd chances to players who do that.

5.) 26 Aug 2024 21:12:27
We brought Brendan back.

6.) 26 Aug 2024 21:18:53
He doesn't want to come back apparently, as it would be a step backwards.

TBH after watching him a few times, I wouldn't have him back, he has totally lost confidence and maybe a totally new project will help him get his mojo back.

7.) 26 Aug 2024 21:26:51
Lazy player. Got great money for an average player.

8.) 26 Aug 2024 22:43:31
For Celtic,
Edouard in league games had an average of 57% for goals, which is better than 1 in 2.

His goal contribution in league games for Celtic was an impressive 73% which included assists.

Not bad for a lazy and average player.

9.) 27 Aug 2024 11:08:14
Downed tools but still managed 18 goals in a sh! tshow of a season. Take him back in a heart beat as he's much better a player than Idah.

10.) 27 Aug 2024 16:16:16
Eddy woukd be great, but I have a feeling this is a bigger crock than Jota returning. Just people connecting dots they like the look of sadly. Hopefully it happens, but I would think the long awaited return of Jesus is more likely. And I don’t mean on a bit of toast or a dugs a rse.

16 Aug 2024 12:52:04
Kyogo apparently missed training today. Go figure.

Cetic hand was forced this week with Idah signing like I thought it was.

We'd have signed him anyway but no doubt in the last week to try and drive down the price.

Greentreee

1.) 16 Aug 2024 16:56:22
Totally nonsense, he wasn't taken in quickly because Kyogo got injured. We were working on the signing and it was going to cost what it cost, it wasn't hurried because Kyogo got injured.

However that will satisfy your narrative that we tried to get a bargain and don't want to spend money.

No mention of us holding out for 25-30 million for Matt, as that's OK.

2.) 16 Aug 2024 17:02:00
Since our massive victory at Ibrox on April 3rd 2022,when CCV secured our comeback win -

Kyogo was been available for every single Celtic match since and that also includes all Friendly games.

Since April 2022,
Kyogo has been available for 128 consecutive Celtic matches.
He’s played in 124 and remained on the bench for 4 matches, which included 1 Friendly game.

Not bad for a player who had previous injury concerns and has played with a dodgy shoulder.

3.) 16 Aug 2024 17:55:23
Maedainparadise. So just a big massive coincidence that Kyogo was injured on Sat, looking to be out this Sat, then hey presto we finally stump up the money for Idah.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Course Norwich were holding out till Celtic met there valuation. As you say the exact same as we are doing with O'Reilly.

You say we were working on the signing what since the end of last season ???? that's some amount of talking ??. Or did we just start working on it at the start of the week?

No narrative here.

You have your thoughts I have mine.

Who's to say who's right or wrong.

So let's just agree to differ.

Good Day.

4.) 16 Aug 2024 18:20:38
As I said fits your narrative.

By the way, love coffee.

5.) 16 Aug 2024 19:14:59
Good stats Buzz??.

6.) 16 Aug 2024 21:49:45
Norwich played hard ball for Idah like we are for MOR with other clubs.

I'd of thought a CB and LB would've come in by now, wouldn't expect a midfielder unless MOR is sold, hope he stays till January at least and we sign a Lb and Cb, get the rest out on loan for crucial game time, value can't increase for a player if they sit in reserves rotting away.

29 Jul 2024 13:16:40
I personally think Idah will come right down to the last week of the window.

Rumour in the DR thst we're interested in the lad Conway.

Greentreee

1.) 29 Jul 2024 14:09:51
Am at the stage where Al believe when they're holding the scarf above their head.

2.) 29 Jul 2024 15:37:09
A couple of Serie A clubs apparently sniffing about idah.

3.) 29 Jul 2024 22:11:59
Mally, feeding of your post, maybe if we use Artificial Intelligence programmed into the minds of our Board, we'll get quicker signings ?.

4.) 30 Jul 2024 04:35:39
Signings have slowed right down since Ange left and Lawell returned.

5.) 30 Jul 2024 07:22:33
That's nonsense about Ange transfers look at first season CCV GG and JJ and Jota all in last few weeks of the window even Starfelt and kyogo only arrived week of the first game this whole Ange got business done early is a fantasy.

6.) 30 Jul 2024 08:12:54
Forget about it, if Idah was coming to us he would already be here by now. We’ll probably now bring in a couple of mediocre loan signings, a striker and a left back then that will be sufficient enough in the boards eyes. We need to remember, the board aren’t interested in vastly improving the squad and spending big amounts, they’re only interested in spending just enough to keep just ahead of rangers, that’s it.

16 Jul 2024 13:28:11
New GK from Villa pictured in a Celtic tracksuit boarding the plan for USA before signing has been announced.

Greentreee

1.) 16 Jul 2024 16:21:14
You were correct about the 2 GKs Ed I never thought we would be able to bring in 2,and as far as I have looked up the young lad is a decent player.

{Ed007's Note - I even told you his name! ?

2.) 16 Jul 2024 17:51:47
Is he a quality player ed? Can't take anymore project/ quality player stuff any longer ? love the content. Hail Hail ?.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate HH ????I've seen Sinisalo's name pop up on some of the English forums and he's definitely highly rated, he was being scouted by teams like Bayern a couple of years back.}

3.) 16 Jul 2024 18:56:46
Ed,

my memory is slightly hazy but I seem to recall, not so long ago, that you may have mentioned a cetain Turkish GK who plays in Manchester had signed for us ?

At any rate, I'm delighted with Schmeichel and Sinisalo and I'm looking forward to getting a few more first team ready players through the door.

☘️ ? ☘️.

{Ed007's Note - Nah, I never said that Ped.}

4.) 16 Jul 2024 19:35:35
Great bit of business by the club to bring both in.
Forward thinking for once.
Credit where its due.

5.) 17 Jul 2024 13:38:43
Great minds think alike ed my friend ???.

{Ed007's Note - ??

6.) 19 Jul 2024 10:39:21
I heard a rumour from a very good source that the will be rumours any day now. More later…. Maybe.

Also is Kuhn on his way to being the next 20 million pound player?

Greentreee

1.) 06 Nov 2024 01:09:07
For whit leg?

2.) 06 Nov 2024 08:50:01
Brilliant performance brought about a brilliant atmosphere. Watch the Leipzig players when the champion’s league music was played ( it’s on you tube ) . They were rubbishting themselves.

Bring on Brugge.

3.) 06 Nov 2024 09:44:23
That double against strong opposition in the champions league. His speed, age, position and this season 's goal and assist record will dictate a massive fee when we sell him.

06 Nov 2024 00:44:10
What a level we played at last night.

Can we even dream of another 3 wins and a top 8 place and automatic qualification ?

That must be scary for all other teams in Scotland.

Who can actually catch us? The only way that happens is if we take our foot of the lions neck

15th Dec if we play even as half as good as tonight it will be a huge embarrassment to Sevco.

Greentreee

1.) 06 Nov 2024 06:46:03
We can definitely take 9 points from our next 3 cL games!

2.) 06 Nov 2024 06:47:17
3 more wins will be extremely difficult.

I'm sticking to my usual approach of expect to get pumped and anything other than that is a bonus.

27 Oct 2024 23:58:28
I was pleasantly surprised by how Celtic played today. We have struggled in the past coming back from our European matches and into the domestic weekend. So was refreshing to see we picked up from where we were.

Nice to see CVV and Taylor back. Trusty has done well in recent games but Scales has done nothing wrong to be dropped for CVV. But I don't think you spend 6m on Trusty to sit him on the bench.

Engels hasn't set the heather on fire yet. Hopefully just a young lad taking time to settle and we'll start to see him dominate games soon.

Greentreee

1.) 28 Oct 2024 09:13:36
I was also very pleased with the performance and result. Especially with Cal-Mac missing and a few other changes after that very difficult game on Wednesday. We took 10-15 minutes to settle but it was a very comfortable, controlled victory.
Understandably, we have slowed down a tad after such a fantastic start to the season and historically, October has been a tricky month especially with Europe and cup games but we are still strong.
I think people are comparing Engels to replace the 'finished' MOR, but it's far too early and misguided to expect too much too soon. Unfortunately the same doubt has been raised about Idah, again because of maybe the prices paid for the players?
However, they are both in very early stages of what should be memorable Celtic careers and both will come good, I'm sure.
I was also delighted to see Hatate finish a game as he seems to have regained his appetite and confidence, although maybe the 'duracell powered' Maeda could do with a wee rest and recharge.

2.) 28 Oct 2024 09:46:04
I’m not worried about the Engels signing.

Engels has already showed that he’s a very good player.
A player needs to be super consistent at Celtic, due to our winning demands to succeed.
I’m sure he will get used to those demands in the future.

3.) 28 Oct 2024 10:02:55
My opinion ( for what it's worth? ) , is engles will probably take a full season of in and out the team until he settles / gets used to the club / team mates and system . You only have to look at khun to see what a season/ pre season can achieve. How many on here wrote khun off after a poor start to his celtic career?

4.) 28 Oct 2024 13:27:03
I must admit I thought Khun was a waste of money after watching him at Easter Road.

It was mentioned he was too weak because he lost loads of weight, due to a dental problem.

5.) 28 Oct 2024 17:53:21
Delbhoy- if Engles takes a full season to get used to playing for celtic then punt him now. Aye we are quids in but for 11m he needs to be performing 7 out of 10 each game from Xmas. at latest. Like Buzz I thought kuhn was a flop but we never nee he had fitness issues and he came good after 6 months. We can't wait for Engles to be POTM next August. I had no doubts when he gets back in he'll stay in.

6.) 29 Oct 2024 03:08:41
£11m should guarentee an oven ready CL player?.

7.) 29 Oct 2024 12:34:14
I think that the price tag has given misguided expectations regarding Engels.
BR said he's come from playing one game a week which he said is a holiday compared to Celtic. He's performed well and has shown bags of talent and I think it's important to remember he's only 21 and has to get used to the physical demands of our calendar. To keep progressing and improving the squad, these are the type of prices Celtic will need to pay in today's market but I don't think any player coming in is going to be the finished article but as BR said, it's his job to get them there.

With Kuhn it's slightly different because of the issues he has when he joined but Engels has come in to our most competitive part of the team to get in and Bernardo hasn't put a foot wrong, Hatate on his day is superb and Calmac is the captain so going to be the first name on the teamsheet. Add in McCowan then you have to appreciate that you're not going to play every game.

Arne has also been the target of some harsh challenges in our league as well because of his price tag and people will want to get one over on him but I think he'll adjust and become a real leader on the park.

19 Oct 2024 20:46:44
You know what, it probably shouldn't be the case. But as long as we can stay in front till after the euro journey is over all is good.

Yes we can go on about squads and everything else. But playing every 3 days will take its toll.

Wait till its a level playing field in days rest.

Greentreee

1.) 20 Oct 2024 10:16:59
They did really well to get their draw yesterday but I'm not worried about Aberdeen at all. All this chat about them lasting the distance and being involved in a title race doesn't ring true to me. We crushed them first half and should have been out of sight. We didn't, it happens, but they're not at our level.

19 Oct 2024 17:40:52
2-0 up. We should never be drawing that game. Disgrace.

Just gives everyone that we bit of hope.

Greentreee

1.) 19 Oct 2024 19:10:29
2-0 at half time, 32 total shots and 73% possession we definitely let that one slip away. Had plenty of chances to wrap that game up just poor decision making and finishing.

2.) 19 Oct 2024 19:15:05
Weaker than milky tea, Rodgers needs to wisen up. Feels worse than a defeat, we should never have left our home stadium with anything other than full points today. On another day we lose and only got VAR to thank we didn't. Will have to watch from behind the couch on Wednesday as the defence is woeful. Aberdeen now go into the semi as favourites, on the second half performance of both teams.

3.) 19 Oct 2024 20:41:13
Gaz have a day off will you. Go in as favourites.

Let's face it if Man City are looking at Kyogo for a 2nd striker then they are looking at a very very cheap option.

I'd be astonished to the core if there's any truth in this.

Seems like sh** stirring to me.

10 points would all but guarantee a top 24 finish

9 points is 69% chance of top 24 finish.

16 points all but guarantee a top 8 finish

15 points is 73% chance of a top 8 finish.

We also got 1.26 million for scoring 5 goals add that to the 1.7 million.

Clubs get £252k per goal scored on the night.
