Jack Ross name is latest to be thrown in the mix to replace Neil Lennon. He has worked his way up from Alloa to St Mirren to Sunderland and Hibs.
He knows Scottish Football, has been a success at each Scottish club is tactically very astute and the right price for the board.
Could be plausible.

GGGG

1.) 22 Nov 2020 22:03:16
Hibs wouldn't give Celtic the time of the day let alone let them speak to Jack Ross even if we did want to speak with him.

2.) 22 Nov 2020 22:08:01
Hope not. There's surely better than him.

3.) 22 Nov 2020 23:37:28
Back in 2019 I sensed that a sizeable number of our support held the view Neil Lennon should not have been considered as a serious long term option. Myself included. Nevertheless we all got behind him, he had the best squad and resources after all. Unfortunately the current situation confirms a lot of fans fears but irrespective it’s just a bit sad now and I don’t see anyway back. I hope it ends with a bit of dignity. Jack Ross is potentially a decent manager but we have the right to expect the board will seek out the best candidate possible which with respect, isn’t Jack Ross.

4.) 23 Nov 2020 01:49:20
GGGG
Have you been watching wee Hamish on his YouTube channel?

5.) 23 Nov 2020 14:44:08
Hibs don't need to give us the time of day. Jack Ross can quit and take the Celtic job and we'll head down tribunals for compensation.
He's not the ideal candidate for me, but I'm so scunnered with Lennon, I'd consider it.

6.) 23 Nov 2020 15:52:07
Jack Ross better off with Diana Ross at least she’d reign supreme .

7.) 23 Nov 2020 16:49:37
What about Douglas?

8.) 23 Nov 2020 17:42:12
I wouldn't take another manager from Hibs. The job seems to be a bit of a poisoned chalice. Managers that do well there, seem to nosedive after leaving club. Mowbray, Stubbs and Lennon to name a few.

25 Jul 2020 08:02:29
Lennon is not a Bain fan wants Marshall AND 1 other keeper to replace Gordon and Forster.

GGGG

1.) 25 Jul 2020 12:25:21
Hope that's true because any game when we've been under pressure bain has made mistakes. He was ok for a few games when he first got an extended run but he is nowhere near good enough for us.

2.) 25 Jul 2020 13:13:14
It's only a week until the season starts; but NL knows what we need, after the recent clear-out and I would expect imminent arrival (s) .

3.) 25 Jul 2020 14:01:19
Was Bain not at hibs when lennon managed them? Sure he never played him much, may be wrong. to be honest I’m not comfortable with having a pop at Bain. the guy was brought in as cover, and he’s an able back up! Not his fault the club once again can’t get it’s finger out and move faster on deals! We’ve had over 4 months to sort the goalie situation out! I know the Forster deal looked a done deal and it fell through, but we should have been ready to move quicker! Now even if we sign someone this week it’s going to take time to settle into a new team and organising a new defence!

4.) 25 Jul 2020 14:13:17
Was at Dundee I think lennon was trying to sign him was he not and o lying agreed to celtic deal with scott allan going to hibs on loan
Or was lennon punting him to Dundee.

{Ed007's Note - Bain joined Hibs on loan in January 2018 after falling out with Neil McCann at Dundee but never made an appearance for the Easter Road club and so was allowed to move to Celtic on loan the same month.}

5.) 25 Jul 2020 15:13:53
Bain. Had a great first season at the Tic. We all smiled that we got a top goal keeper for free at the time. Its only since Foster returned that we think he is a dud.

6.) 25 Jul 2020 16:13:16
I’m not a big Marshall fan, “best” days well behind him, sign the Greek keeper and have Bain as his back up .

7.) 25 Jul 2020 23:36:25
I wouldn't mind starting the season with bain. He produced the goods against sevco and they new gk should have to fight it out with bain. That's only fair. If the new gk proves he's better than bain then it's up to bain to improve.

8.) 26 Jul 2020 00:43:25
I think that's fair enough marco, right now their bains gloves to lose. I still want better tho, but that's the same with every position, maybe with the exception of eddy, im not sure many teams could attract better than him.

31 Aug 2019 00:00:05
Been told Sinclair may be freed if he fails to find new club before deadline passes to try to get him off wage bill. KB a loan deal from LaLiga possibly Getafe due to them only willing to pay half his salary and he is not happy, don't know why he didn't just take wage cut to make deal happen anyway expect to see him exit shortly especially now boy from Southampton has been loaned to us.

GGGG

1.) 31 Aug 2019 00:58:40
If the club wanted shot of him they shouldn't have activated his extension. He could have left a free agent at the start of the summer and got an English club to pay him a wedge. Why should he take a pay cut?

2.) 31 Aug 2019 01:54:54
We would need to pay substantial compensation to Sinclair to let him go. I don't see him walking away from a healthy contract for nothing.

3.) 31 Aug 2019 02:43:45
There's no way that will happen. We'd have to pay his remaining salary if we released him. Scott's not going to walk away from that money, and why should he? He's being treated terribly and I wouldn't expect him to do us any favours.

4.) 31 Aug 2019 06:35:33
I still don't understand the Sinclair situation. No-one seems to want to explain why he's being treated like shyt. One thing's for sure, when he does go he won't be leaving with pleasant memories of how his time here has come to an end. Shameful stuff Lenny and Celtic or whoever is responsible for this scenario. HH.

5.) 31 Aug 2019 07:35:35
I don't get all this treated terrible thing. He has been in decline, we have all been shouting for youth to be given a chance, he is still being paid and if he was performing better than others he would be in the team. I like him, I think he offers much more than Morgan, so would have him on the bench, but I don't see him in training every day, neither do any of you,

6.) 31 Aug 2019 08:09:56
This can't be right he'll we took long enough to pay compper off.

7.) 31 Aug 2019 10:05:09
Bob, the only thing I can think of is that Lennon told Lawwell he wasn't in his plans but Lawwell assumed there was still a fee to be had by extending his contract. The fee wasn't forthcoming and now he can't get near the team because Lennon made it clear he didn't want him. I've completely made that scenario up of course but it's the only sort explanation that makes sense go me as I can't see Lennon insisting on an extension for one of our top earners to have him sitting behind Johnston and Morgan.

8.) 31 Aug 2019 08:18:21
Folk are guessing it’s all down to Lennon and the club I will play devils advocate. maybe it could be a problem with Sinclair? Even before the rat left he wasn’t figuring that much? Me personally I feel he is a great player has been superb the stats he has returned be it goals and assists! Just a mystery to us all? Mon the hoops on Sunday get intake this shower if rubbish! 🙂🍀🏆🏆🏆.

9.) 31 Aug 2019 08:32:21
He should tell them to take a feck to themselves and sit and take every penny he is due.

10.) 31 Aug 2019 10:25:45
Ed, do u know the ins and outs of the Sinclair situation? Did Celtic think they would get some money for him over the summer and now taken the huff because he never went?

{Ed007's Note - I'm not entirely sure what happened, even the reported contract extension doesn't make sense or tie in with what the Club itself reported here when Sinclair signed for us.
During the English window there was plenty of interest from the Championship and some definite offers did come in from there but nothing happened for whatever reasons, there was also an offer for Sinclair to move to the MLS.
His agent will spend the weekend trying to find him a club on the continent and I will be really surprised if Sinclair is still a Celtic player when the window closes.}

11.) 31 Aug 2019 11:52:09
@Dander, yes his form may have dipped a little but the man's stats over the last few seasons speak for themselves. If a guy with his stats and ability can't even make our bench ahead of untried and inconsistent youngsters then something stinks, in my opinion. He's not out the team because he isn't good enough. There's more too this.

07 Aug 2019 22:28:52
Sinclair available for £3m expected to be sold tomorrow.

GGGG

1.) 08 Aug 2019 02:03:48
Did Sinclair get left in Glasgow or did he travel with the squad?

2.) 08 Aug 2019 04:05:20
Bad move getting rid of someone who chips in over 15 goals a season.

3.) 08 Aug 2019 06:30:54
With KT looking at going for £25 million, good chance Sinclair will be away for £3 million, Lille apparently sniffing around jozo and always a possibility of something happening with ntcham. That £28 million along with £20 million for dembele, £7 million for VVD move to Liverpool, Armstrong £7 million move last year, that’s serious money been brought into the club over two summer windows. Yes we bought edouard, bought shved, bought Jullien, Bolingoli and Elhamed but you’d like to think there’s a huge amount of cash now there for Lennon to really go and strengthen this team. We’ve just released 3 strip sales, sold out season tickets again, not to mention a possibility of champions league football. Yes I know we’ve invested in the disco lights, the pitch etc but this window wether people think it had to happen or not, we’ve lost lustig, boyata, KT and looking like Sinclair, all first team players.

4.) 08 Aug 2019 07:57:13
I can't believe we haven't bought in decent reinforcements when lennon knew the positions, we left our £7mill man on the bench, boli his name must of come out of a lucky bag. Now with kt and Scotty possibly leaving it leaves us up rubbish creak without a paddle. I know we have till the 2nd of September but we could be out of the champions league by then and it's to late. We must show serious intent in getting top class players in. HH.

5.) 08 Aug 2019 08:44:56
Jesus for months people on here skating Sinky, no he’s maybe leaving he’s a free scoring Messi! Make up your minds.

6.) 08 Aug 2019 08:58:57
No one said he's a free scoring Messi but no one in this squad are going to score the amount of goals he does from left wing.

7.) 08 Aug 2019 09:02:57
With kt away and Sinclair probably going, we are definitely weaker than last season, slightly worrying times for me. I think Lennie needs his head checking if he really expects to be given all the kt transfer money off peter.
If we get past Cluj, after last night I can’t see us getting past Prague with that squad. They will tear us apart at the back, the other day it was a 7 million pound player to replace kt. Now he’s leaving it will probably be Taylor from Lille for a million.
As long as peter gets his bonus, that’s the main thing.

8.) 08 Aug 2019 09:10:39
Morgan, Hayes, MJ and Shved combined will be lucky to match Sinclairs goals/ assists over a season. Like him or loathe him - he scored goals.

9.) 08 Aug 2019 09:33:35
Unfortunately the predictable downsizing is in full swing from Rodgers to the players that have left ie Dembele, Armstrong, Tierney the list goes on the Celtic board have decided to sell or move on the Crown Jewels and replace them with far cheaper inferior replacements. It’s the typical Celtic cycle of pushing the boat out for a while and then majorly downsizing. Celtic so we are told are a progressive club looking to improve every year but I think it only seems to be the fans that feel that way.

10.) 08 Aug 2019 09:39:47
Franny they were calling it down sizing when we signed Dembele and Armstrong.

11.) 08 Aug 2019 09:59:09
Is it maybe the case that Sinclair has asked for a move and that's why he's not been playing?

12.) 08 Aug 2019 10:13:13
Not completely true Franny, from the days of having Armstrong in the team I think mcgregor and Christie are actually better players.

However, the signings we have made I still stick by have been progressive. Boli is an improvement on izzy of recent, more pace, more influence going forward. Boli needs more positional and tactical sense.

Big jullien has full key assets. From what I've seen which unfortunately isn't a lot. Seems like he's going to be a decent signing. I think is likely going to be an upgrade in that position (but not vvd) but better than boyata.

Elhamed, I thoughts been decent so far. Quick enough to create attacks, calm on the ball. Probably not the greatest defender, but quick enough to get back and make it difficult for attackers to get past him and progress on goal without the harassment.

We definitely need a proper left back. We ain't going to sign the quality of KT, that's why the bhoy is 25million. But someone half decent, if not CL quality definitely a Europa league level player.

I'd also want another player that can change games. Even if that's a loan, someone in the paddy Roberts mould. I think we'll need that for this season. I thought yesterday's game, we were to wide open, and lacked that spark, Forrest tried but another one of those types of players on the other wing makes our attacks less predictable and more influential.

We need the checkbook to be opened for the next 3 weeks to make sure we have a good a chance for the CL groups and try retain our trebles.

13.) 08 Aug 2019 16:04:19
KT missed almost half our games last season so how anyone can say we can't do without him or are downsizing is beyond me. He's young and he's ambitious and there is nothing wrong with that. He'll come to realise in time that he misses Celtic more than we miss him. Good luck to him whatever happens.

01 Jul 2019 09:51:41
Tabloids claiming McNair deal is dead. Quite happy with that if true, nothing to do with his Rangers allegiance but just because I don't think he's better than players we currently have at the club.

GGGG

1.) 01 Jul 2019 13:46:38
Thank f*ck I was talking to a mate who has a season ticket at Boro and he said McNair is rid rotten so I hope we don’t sign him .

2.) 02 Jul 2019 08:02:45
And he hates Celtic. Paper talk as per.

Today's tabloids reporting Eddie Howe now on Newcastle's radar or at least he's Fav in bookies to be their next boss.
Personally I don't want Howe it's just my opinion I think he's a good coach which is something we badly need but not a great Manager with issues dealing with top players at Bournemouth from Jack Wiltshire who agreed mutual termination to go back 6 months later when he left to Defoe situation and Josh King refusing to sign new deal and boy who went to Newcastle being less than complementary when he left.
I would go for Xavi and hope his Barcelona training methods would improve our current squad until end of season then give him tools he needs in summer for rebuilding.

GGGG

{Ed001's Note - Jack Wilshere was at West Ham and is a vastly overrated (because he is English) injury-prone drunken bum, who flopped there because he won't act professionally. Can't really blame Howe for that one, though I am not a big fan of his either as he has no idea how to organise a defence and admitted his recruitment was so bad he had to hand over control of it to someone else.}

1.) 23 Jan 2021 09:27:10
Sounds like he's our man right enough ed😂.

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly very adept at signing crap keepers and used to working with billionaires, so you could be right!}

2.) 23 Jan 2021 09:59:19
what a great shout xavi would be and he is always very complimentary about our club although not sure how much english he speaks, i could easily google it but I'm not to sure how his coaching career has went so far although i do know he was seriously being consideredforf the Barcelona job before koeman got the gig.

3.) 23 Jan 2021 11:05:28
GGGG. Xavi is the best midfielder I ever saw. Utterly magnificent Would certainly be season ticket booster Not sure what he's done since retiring but a winning mindset as a given. For few years he was best player in world IMO Can remember Jackie Mac. Who was nobody's fool. Being spun 360 degrees by the little maestro and left wondering where he went. What a footballer He always speaks well of us too A xavi puyol. dream team? Or more likely a Jack Ross / Kennedy. Double act Thing with Celtic is it could b either If putting bet on I would go with latter of two.

4.) 23 Jan 2021 13:16:35
Anybody + Kennedy = chuckle bros.

08 Dec 2020 08:03:11
Ed Could you compile a vote on who the fans would most like to see replace Lennon from these choices:
Martin O Neill
Gordon Strachan
Jack Ross
Paolo Di Canio
Paul Lambert
Eddy Howe
None of the above

Cheers.

GGGG

{Ed007's Note - Vote on the poll HERE.

1.) 08 Dec 2020 12:16:40
Martin O'Neill has apparently ruled himself out.

2.) 08 Dec 2020 12:28:14
I would rather have Dan Petrescu who’s available.

3.) 08 Dec 2020 12:38:53
Paulo Di Canio, Jesus wept 🙈.

4.) 08 Dec 2020 12:42:18
None of the above.

If the board have any ambition there is only one man and that is Rafael Benitz.

{Ed007's Note - Benitez is on £12 million a year in China and that's after tax.}

5.) 08 Dec 2020 12:54:21
I'd be happy with Nigel Pearson.

6.) 08 Dec 2020 13:05:37
Howe for me.

7.) 08 Dec 2020 14:12:00
Hi ed there was reports of derby looking at rafa. If they think they could pull it off surely celtic could. Rafa might be looking at a route to the epl
Only paper talk that derby were interested do you know if there is any truth in it.

{Ed007's Note - Derby are being taken over by mega-rich Arabs who are willing to throw crazy money at the project and they apparently want Benitez to be the manager.}

8.) 08 Dec 2020 14:48:52
How much money does one man need though Ed? I've a good source who tells me he rather be abused by neds if things don't go well.

9.) 08 Dec 2020 21:01:10
Makes sense ed cheers.

Duffy looks to be finally getting rubber stamped, great addition. Also no bye to play off round in Europa Q3 find out our opponents 2m.

GGGG

1.) 31 Aug 2020 12:40:23
I'm out and about GGGG can you post our opponents when you hear, thanks.

2.) 31 Aug 2020 13:37:43
We don't deserve a bye! The 3rd round qualifier gives us a small chance to Partially make a statement of intent . having looked at opponents we should be fine

Banana skin would be astana away . ouch. other than that we should be okay hone or away if we get a decent playing surface.

3.) 31 Aug 2020 13:47:49
Shamrock pulled AC at home. Love it.

30 Mar 2020 21:58:02
Lennon publicly stated we might need to offer players wage cuts in coming weeks. Should be ok until end of April but with £5m monthly wage bill with no income it's seriously eating into our cash reserves.
With games not played due to be refunded by the club we really need to be able to get this season finished ASAP.

GGGG

1.) 30 Mar 2020 22:17:39
Football players should not be immune to what everyone else is going through. They make enough in their careers to take the hit.

2.) 30 Mar 2020 23:24:28
Lay all the players off, let them get the governments 80% deal up to £2500 a month,

3.) 31 Mar 2020 12:09:19
If it's being considered at the biggest, richest club in Scotland, then the rest must be in a very desperate financial crisis.
With no end in sight to the current restrictions and the 2019/ 20 season in limbo, there will be many clubs facing meltdown and ruin.
Football is only the tip of the iceberg as every household will have someone in work who are on reduced pay or have even been laid-off?
The repercussions and lasting effects of this pandemic will take a very long time to recover from mentally, physically and financially.

Ki Seung Yeung has been released from Newcastle contract by mutual consent.
Can now be signed after window closes, wouldn't be surprised to see him reunited with Lenny and The Bhoys.

The latest rumour is he will be replaced on a weekly basis until he does and somebody will say I told you! Nothing against this particular rumour Buzz Bomb 10 as it is a rumours page after all but we have all heard same chat for past 5-6 weeks in particular.
My theory is he will be dismissed when transfer window is close to shutting so board can say they tried to sign whatever targets new boss has but just missed out due to the timing and will sign possibly 1 player to appease fans and try to get them inside for renewals.

I think you could probably get more for Eddy selling him now, not because he will have 18 months on contract as opposed to 12 in summer but because clubs pay a bit more during January window as they need players more dependant on their individual situations.
I think £20m with sizeable sell on is fair price and good deal for club.
All this £30m talk is never going to happen due to his form all season and duration of contract, if £20m bud comes in I would take it and hand the lot of it to next manager to improve squad with 3-4 quality players.

I disagree they haven’t conceded much more since he and 2 other CBs have been out it’s their lack of scoring goals that’s cost Liverpool in recent weeks. There’s no doubt anyone would miss VVDs presence in both boxes and his ability but statistical wise it’s the front end of the pitch that’s proving costly atm.

We were fortunate to escape with a point today Livvy created a few good chances while we played in 1 good ball across the box in the full game and a half chance from Frimpong.
We could of played almost same starting 11 as cup final where we at least created numerous chances.
Can’t understand why Rogic would play up top? He’s good at long range shooting and has nice feet in tight areas and the eye for a pass, he doesn’t run on shoulder of last man, win aerial duels, hold it up or spin in behind so what attributes would make anybody feel he could play up there?
Embarrassing getting outplayed for long periods at home to Livvy on grass surface.

I know what your saying Malkybhoy but club have us over a barrel. If you don’t renew season ticket 1 of the 10k in waiting list will and you lose your seat.
If thousands don’t then it hurts us financially.
Time for change was long ago, board need to just bite the bullet now and change the manager.
Personally I would bring Xavi in just now on contract till end of season and see how his coaching methods work with this set of players if we see progress we bank roll him in summer if not we have kept powder dry and appoint the best we can attract.

Buzz bombs values are more realistic than some.
I think Christie £8m
Ntcham £4-5m
Edouard £20m
Ajer £7m
Iv no idea where people get their valuation of Ajer from, he’s a versatile young International but has flaws in each of the positions he plays.
A lot depends on who is interested and what noises we here from players and their agents and how they fare at the Euros.
I don’t think any of them will sign new deals and cashing in has to be the way to play it we can’t have another Boyata situation.

My biggest fear is there’s NOTHING coming through youth team that are of real genuine quality. If you can’t get a game with 13 players out or stick out when squad has majorly underperformed all season.
There’s no Forrest, Tierney or Mcgregor coming through. In days gone by we would at least have somebody from youth team banging the goals in who would make the bench and get a run out in dead rubbers at end of season but we had to play without a striker yesterday which worries me for future.

I take it your joking?
Our biggest problem seems to be that the club or our fans still don’t get it.
It’s everybody else’s fault, how come they were badly behaved and only got this punishment but we got this etc etc.
Other teams have had points docked but because Sevcos players who didn’t mix with anybody else immediately after braking rules and got 7 game bans each and we had to isolate let’s blame everyone else.
If you don’t something when something needs to change we will have the same issues.
Board not going anywhere soon so it’s time to start planning for next season.
Get dead wood out the door, step up the search for new manager yesterday and get our recruitment department to start identifying proper realistic improvements to the squad.
3-4 quality players and we will be a force again!
