WE WON SPL. BY EIGHT CLEAR POINTS

End of our SPL season, as special as we can get it . Great to win by a clear 8 points, most goals scored and least goals conceded . Just one game left for the Season the Scottish Cup Final next Saturday. Let's enjoy the week as Champions and next Saturday as double Champions.

Scottish Cup Champions??.

2.) 18 May 2024 17:40:39
They have no shame. I remember that time they won the Scottish cup and tried to call themselves champions. ?.

Yesterday we had a penalty shoot -out to decide the Ulster Championship . For 2 nd year in a row Armagh lost .
Yesterday Armagh and Donegal both scored their first 5 penalties, all brilliant efforts. Donegal scored their 6th and Armagh 6th first poor effort was saved,
Remember these were all amateur players in taking crucial kicks in front of over 30,000.
How often do super paid Professional soccer players fail at penalties, yet these players all hit their shots low and into the corners .

All I ever did as a kid was hitting it inside left post as hard as possible should be basic science of the ball travelling its distance faster as keeper theirs.

2.) 13 May 2024 13:48:24
Celtic have had a poor record for scoring penalties for as long as I can remember. If Buzz analysed the conversion rate over the years I'm sure I'd grimace at what the outcome would be. Surely BR should be getting the players to practice every day. It's not inconceivable the cup final could go to pens.

3.) 13 May 2024 14:51:11
In the last 3 seasons,
Celtic have now received 40 penalties in all competitions and we’ve only scored 27 penalties.

We’re basically missing One penalty and scoring Two for every 3 penalties taken.
( 67% )

Tommy Gemmell was probably our last good long term penalty taker.
Robbie Keane was good but we only had him for half a season.

Celtic have never had a good penalty taker in my lifetime, shocking.

4.) 13 May 2024 17:19:05
It isn’t shocking, Managers and players know that it is such a rare event for Celtic to get a penalty, they don’t prepare or practice taking pens .
After M O ‘R took his first penalty for us against Rangers if I was his manager, I would have banned him from ever taking a pen for Celtic again . We have had a poor record on scoring penalties this season and he stepped up and took a panenka penalty . A panenka penalty is a high risk attempt taking a penalty . He scored but I have to say, he was thinking of personal glory rather than team winning in a game which was vital for all Celtic fans . I think MO’R is brilliant but I cannot forgive this showing off
Seriously manager needs to name 3/ 4 players who are normally regulars and tell them they are our nominated penalty takers and list them in order . I think as Phliphop says it’s a matter of hitting ball low and hard, but I would say inside either post . I wonder what happened with Idah’s last penalty for us, it seemed to be so bad he must have slipped or something for no professional could take such a bad penalty.

5.) 13 May 2024 18:02:20
Does BR get players practising pens? I hope so. At the time I saw the MOR pen at the crumbled one, my gut told me he went Panenka coz he didn't trust himself to go hard left or right. He got lucky. I might be doing him a disservice but that's my gut and he got found out a bit on Sat. He's done very well for us but does anyone think Butland was slow to get down for the goal on Sat?

6.) 13 May 2024 18:31:26
Yet in semi via dons they were all pretty good.

7.) 13 May 2024 23:57:34
I think it’s a bit unfair to blame M O’R for what he described as a rubbish penalty on
Saturday, he had a very long delay before he got chance to take it . Delay made it hard for pen taker, . In the penalty shootout against the sleep, all our penalty takers just stepped up and took penalty without trying anything clever .
In the matches this season that we have got penalties, our penalty taker has tried to do something clever and has become unstuck.

Congratulations to Celtic, league all but won . Ten points out of 12 in games against our nearest neighbours . This season we have had more obstacles in our path to Champions than most other yrs . We had change of Manager in summer close season . We had poor recruitment and lost key players unexpectedly. . Key players were missing for long periods through injury . Then we had greater efforts by referee and VAR officials as they made no attempt to hide their pro -Rangers bias and anti Celtic .
I think BR and his coaches deserve great praise for getting their players to produce the form necessary to take us number 54 league title . We may need one point in 2 games but I don't see us slipping up now after doing the hard work.

I don't think L Shankland would be as high on many Celtic's fans lists priority lists after trying desperately to deliver the goods against us yesterday . He didn't score or go close to scoring but obtained a yellow card and could have had a 2nd on more than one occasion.

He’s another bfkb, wouldn’t have him anywhere near our squad.

2.) 05 May 2024 16:55:33
Difference with BFKB is that shanker has actually scored against Celtic. I think BFKB only scored once when playing for Killie?

3.) 05 May 2024 18:05:06
Brandon,
Your correct about it only scoring once,
But it was at Ibrox in a 2-0 defeat when the league was already won.

I see John Moss ex English and EPL referee is been talked about as taking over from Crawford Allan as Head of Scottish referees Board or in a Senior position looking at Scottish refs performances .
Nothing against John Moss, he could well be a very honourable and capable man, but if he wants to make any in - roads into the chaotic and partial decision making, he would need to bring a team of about 50 fully qualified refs, to referee, and assistant ref + VAR officials.
The Scottish referee department haven't any field or VAR officials fit for purpose . If they had we at Celtic should have come across the lonely official in whatever role he has.

Kwan, he is a lot older and appears to have a higher value than we are likely to want to play for a player of his age.

I don’t know about Daniel Kelly, but R Vata has travelled the length and breadth of Europe looking for a club, but none interested enough to make a worthwhile offer.

The Celtic shirt shrinks for no man .
Anyone who thinks they should have been in the squad today should look in the eye of who is to blame . All they need is a mirror.

If he comes to play for Celtic, he may get a chance to walk over broken glass when we play Rangers 2012 in Ibrox . But the very decent SFA will ignore it and referee won't have to make a report of it .

Ok we may have spent £17 -£20m of our budget and the team is better than before window, with our goalkeeper replaced . We can’t start making budget for Board that’s playing into their hands if they are going to have BR short of quality players . The £17 -£20m doesn’t take into account the money we should raise without weakening BR ‘s hand which hopefully will be in excess of £12-£15 m and now we are in a position to really spend to strengthen our team for new season.

Unless things have very much changed recently, I can’t imagine Celtic paying anything than they have in order to sign player . I know most of us criticised very strongly PL who it was said would risk losing a player over a few pounds . Players we want are ambitious and want to play in the highest rated league they can get . In order to persuade them to come to Scotland we are likely to either pay more or not get him . Manager isn’t going to accept we tried and failed too often . Player can be signed at a little more than we wanted to pay and if he comes here and plays well, everyone is happy and his initial price is no longer relevant . If he comes and picks up an injury and plays well in nightclubs etc all of a sudden his initial wages are of vital importance and he could easily become a drain on our wages bill. Most clubs have similar problems.

Maybe to have a more equal spread of the millions floating around Scottish Football the runners- up should receive the biggest allocation.

When the Board and who ever else is involved in deciding whether we should buy Bernardo, they should ponder have they got a better player than. him who they know they can sign . if they have let them sign him this other option right away and secure that position. if they haven’t they should buy Bernardo, there is speculation of a price range between £3 m and £7 m, if the speculation is correct, it’s up to our chief negotiator to get him at what ever price we can . As supporters we shouldn’t care too much about price, as club have a transfer war chest, and the more we spend, the less the dividends the shareholders may get .
Don’t say no to Bernardo until we have signed better.
