Is it true that James Mac Carthy and Celtic have had a parting of the ways and James is no longer a Celtic player? We can hardly say we are weaker as James, just never made any impression on his return to Scottish football.

It's natural that we are concentrating on the aftermath of another transfer window . Thankfully they only come twice a year .
However the time as come when maybe we should turn our minds to the most important item for Celtic Football team today .
That is our SPL match against Dundee where
BR and his bhoys attempt to restore our 13 point lead in table . No match is easy and let's hope we have almost a full squad to chose from and everyone is in the right frame of mind to win .
Hopefully we won't have Beaton as VAR official as on Sunday he didn't like us scoring but was happy to see M'well score after a deliberate 2 handed push in back . Everyone he has played game at any level knows it doesn't take much of nudge from behind to put a player concentrating on heading a ball to be put off his header, just as CCV was .

Never any cameras behind the goals when celtic play at Fir Park. I remember they gave Jota offside for a wonder goal with the etcha sketch. Scottish VAR and those who operate it aren't fit for purpose. All clubs should get behind St Mirren and demand change before next season starts!

2.) 05 Feb 2025 19:23:27
Definitely, but I think UEFA and FiFA knew before they implemented VAR that VAR was a disaster waiting to happen . They knew controversy and dissatisfied supporters would never accept VAR . They can be no other explanation why VAR official is a shadowy figure based in some industrial estate maybe in another city
I wouldn’t be surprised in Scotland that VAR officials involved in our games are based in an office in Ibrox . We know that some of SPL Compliance Officers had an Ibrox office and represented Rangers2012 players.

It's natural that all of us who love Celtic are disappointed by how the window has gone . Not replacing our first choice striker is difficult to accept .
But we are where we are, and we are pushing ahead in the league and should surely win another SPL and cup treble . In Europe we have a glamour, first leg just over week ahead hopefully Jota will be able to help us not miss Maeda too much, beating BM was always going to be a big ask and it's doubtful if we were ever going to have new striker bedded in enough to play a major role .
We have a right to express our disappointment and dissatisfaction but remember we are still a lot stronger than we often were after January window.

Sorry i may be wrong Des but is Jota and any new players able to be registered for this round? I though next registration was the last 16?

2.) 04 Feb 2025 12:00:29
Derry Tim, we can withdraw up to 3 players from CL squad and replace them before Feb the 6 th, I am not sure of exact date but around the 6th.

With Martin Rodgers scoring a hat trick against team managed by Brendan Rodgers do know if that has happened before, a hat-trick scored by a player with the same surname as his opponent's team Manager.

Its Morgan Rogers

Cracking player.

{Ed007's Note - Baby Lawwell apparently tried to sign him on loan with an option to buy from Man City.}

2.) 31 Jan 2025 22:17:07
Who was the last player to score a hat- trick against us in any game Edd a remember a Frank McDougal of Aberdeen scoring am sure it was 4 against us in the 80s and a think he was a Celtic fan.

{Ed007's Note - Didn't the fondling his own mum's bum Brazilian weirdo Neymar not do it for Barca?

3.) 31 Jan 2025 23:20:59
Shankland scored a hat trick against us but we still managed a 4-3 win, not sure if the exact date but probably the most recent.

4.) 31 Jan 2025 23:22:03
Agh Edd for all the things to remember him with ?‍♂️?.

{Ed007's Note - ????

Damn them old Celtic nerves . Every night before a Celtic game they click in . I am convinced that every season, no matter how bad the rest of the SPL are the nerves get worse and worse . It's particularly cruel this season to have to wait until 4.30pm for match to start.

It's not often that I change my mind completely on the Celtic Board and their recruitment policy, However I have made a 360 degree take on board's policy .
I use to read that our Board were guilty of providing manager with players just capable of domestic success.
I thought that was a terrible negative opinion that no decent Celtic supporter could hold .
However whilst studying the Board's Primary responsibility, to make money for investors by increase share price and paying dividends. This has altered my thinking and I now realise that the Board have a responsibility to make sure manager and coaches are forced to push their players to the limit to get the very best out of players to be victorious domestically. It isn't fair on the players in the first team squad, if they can stroll through year and win their domestic league at ease and even a double or treble without been pushed completely.
No surer way of creating player unrest amongst players and supporters than having players who think they are too good for league they are playing in .
We can't have European standard players if they aren't pushed to limit week- in week out in their own league . It's very difficult to pick SPL level footballers to be capable of starring in Europe.

It is even more difficult if you are not prepared to pay the going rate for them.

2.) 29 Jun 2024 18:11:55
Naw mate we won’t have European standard players if Peter Lawwell and co continue to dilly dally and don’t invest in better quality players than they have been, I honestly feel we will be done over again this time like we always do ?.

3.) 29 Jun 2024 22:22:30
Drewzybhoy .
Maybe u should consider joining us in 2024 . YOUR MATE P. Lawwell. Is no longer able to dilly dally.

4.) 29 Jun 2024 22:48:40
Ridiculous post. No one was complaining in '94 when Fergus and John Keane saved us. Since then we have splashed money a few times. most notably to find the MON era. We are a great club run properly. Lots of money being spent on infrastructure. I have no doubt we will spend big this window (By our/ Scottish standards) . Lawwell has to go. Not going to bore people but the man should just go!

I am not sure, although most players will want to start, I am sure BR has instilled on all players the need to have frequent breaks .
BR has midfield and wingers all given rests of either opening 60 mins or closing 20- 30 mins .
This leaves us with very few injuries .

If and when Celtic do sign him and he completes a medical, his insurance will certainly exclude certain injuries and medical problems that KT has already had, they will be regarded as pre existing conditions . His medical is unlikely to state that these injuries have completely cleared up and are not likely to recur .
There won’t be insurance for repeat injuries.

It was reported this morning on RTÉ radio that Celtic went in very hard to sign him but he wanted to go to the EPL and couldn’t be persuaded to go to Celtic.

Hopefully, we will have players in before Monday night . It doesn't make sense spending plenty of money in the summer window and even in January to leave ourselves very scarce in some positions . We wouldn’t think losing. Bernabei and even Palma weakened us much.

His contract could be pay for your play for ist 3 months as a trial period . His contract from mid April onwards could take into account his period of pay as he played in previous tax yr.

I used to think Izzyaguire was a great left back who couldn’t defend.
He was so intent on attacking and so unpredictable, he was a thorn in our opponents hearts.

I reckon Buzz bomb could be spot on .
Kenny at this stage of season will be used solely as a back - up and so I think he should be used in that role just now . BR will have opportunity to take off whichever winger he wishes around hour mark as Maeda can play either side.

That means 3 other good fully match fit players will have to drop out .
Kompany may think he can use first leg against us to give these3 match time .
BM are so power and full of good to excellent players that really a team like us shouldn’t have to play them . But football is all about what happens on the night and we shouldn’t be surprised if BR and his team come out on top.
Another great European night coming up on Wed, Celtic Park filled to the rafters and we will have the loudest cheers in Champions League on the the 12 th.

Signing a striker is one position that BR and Board I think will be even more careful when signing than most other positions. Difficultly may be eased if Idah improves on his recent form and continues to score regularly.
Just for reason above I would be loath to sign South American striker . I don’t think we have been well served often by South Americans. I think BR scrutinises most incoming players very careful, as he has put himself clearly in the responsibility seat.

I just cannot understand how so many blame our Board for us not signing a striker in January . This view cannot be based on facts .
Board recently removed our Head or top recruiter . Tried an experience highly thought of expert in his place signed him up full time permanent and added one or two more recruiters to team .
Manager argued with Board all last summer that he wanted final say .
Publicly announced that from last summer on he had the final say in transfers .
Now how do we know that it’s board dinosaurs that are to blame for our not replacing our fading striker.

Wee des 1

{Ed007's Note - It's not Rodgers negotiating transfers & signing the cheques. C'mon OMC, you're trolling/fishing is getting desperate now ?
