The club have had a shocker of a January transfer window. To not sign a permanent striker this window to settle in for the beginning of next season is extremely poor. With the resources we have we should be good for the remainder of this season. With 3 qualifiers for the CL a few injuries could leave us in an awkward position.

What was the logic of the Valle situation? We preemptively cancelled a talented young players loan incase KT signed early? Is it f#ck! ng amateur hour? Scrambling about last minute to find some on to give GT cover. When yet again GT looks like he's leaving and we will have no settled LB going into 3 qualifiers for the CL.

In the short term though. The cards have fell in a fortunate position for Kenny. If we had signed a player from another league who had scored 20 goals and 3 assists in the last year we would be thinking he could be promising. Add to that 2 of those goals were in CL qualifiers and 5 goals and one assist in the conference league. Young, hungry and a supporter of the club to boot he is an absolute exciting prospect. Here's hoping the young man can continue to develop and progress. I would much rather be it own got a shot that a 6month loan to cover his our @rs#s.

Totally agree that Kenny and Cummings deserving off a chance. It’s possible that Cummings didn’t go to West Ham as he’s been assured some game time in the next 6 months.

{Ed007's Note - Cummings didn't go to West Ham because Celtic turned down their offer. What has he done to deserve getting game time in the last 6 months of his contract, unless he signs a new deal - which seems highly unlikely - I'd pap him down to slog it out in the B team.}

2.) 04 Feb 2025 17:02:30
There were murmurs that Cummings has already signed the pre contract with West ham and they were trying to sign him early. If Cummings has then his development is no longer our problem. Back to the B team is where he should be put.

It's being reported in Denmark through Tipsbladet that we are interested in signing Randers FC 21 year old forward Tammer Bany.

They state he has scored 2 goals and 6 assists in 24 games. Seems to be quite a bit of interest from around Europe.

The stats on the surface don't seem the greatest. And doesn't seem like a Kyogo replacement.

Being reported that Dane Murray is about to go on loan with Queen's Park. Thought he would potential go on loan in the SPL. Callum Davidson is a good manager and they do have a good young team. Glad he's going out and getting game time as he has shown a lot of potential before the injury.

1.) 08 Aug 2024 19:35:12
Any of them regarded high enough need to be offered this pathway, they need to be playing as high a level on loan as they can, better than wasting time in B team.

2.) 08 Aug 2024 20:00:27
Good move and hopefully the lad stays fit there's a celtic player in there.

3.) 08 Aug 2024 20:01:15
Now I agree the lowland league is poor but whatever team we put out should have the quality and the leadership to beat most of what's there. Its the coaching set up and development plan that worries me at that level. I can't believe that on a national or uk level tne best we can fimd are all our ex players.

4.) 08 Aug 2024 20:10:32
100% Turner. Regular playing time at as high a level as possible. The lowland league serves a purpose but hopefully our more talented youth start getting more loans.

5.) 08 Aug 2024 23:50:10
Hopefully he gets a massive acceleration playing in the Championship regularly, otherwise we should be cutting ties. 21 now, should be capable of playing for us against weaker opposition if he had that much about him.

6.) 09 Aug 2024 05:07:39
He's been. injured for nearly 2 years.

01 Aug 2024 21:08:13
Ed do you or Ed 002 know if there is any validity in the rumours that Celtic are looking into Hannibal Mejbri? Thanks.

SoSBhOy

{Ed002's Note - Hannibal Mejbri (AM/W) Will be available. Rangers want a loan - Manchester United want a sale. Celtic and Hertha have both enquired with his agent.}

1.) 02 Aug 2024 10:43:50
He's a walking yellow card.

2.) 02 Aug 2024 11:43:31
Excellent we are looking at more development players who play in a position we don't need to strengthen.

What is our recruitment team doing?

3.) 02 Aug 2024 11:50:55
Better than a walking red card DC. A talented player with a very high work rate. Would do well in our team.

4.) 02 Aug 2024 13:27:18
Rumour that Southampton are preparing a player exchange for MOR with Shea Charles as bait. Hope board tell the to get lost.

5.) 02 Aug 2024 13:42:39
Hey my friends Enrico wonder if there’s any substance in the Hungarian player Gazdag he catch Enricos eye at euros you know.

6.) 02 Aug 2024 11:44:19
Ed002 sorry to jump in on this. have you heard anything about Balikwisha?

{Ed002's Note - Michel-Ange Balikwisha (LW) Versatile Royal Antwerp player of interest to Celtic and Hull. Celtic will push but try and negotiate the fee down.}

7.) 02 Aug 2024 15:05:35
He probably be a walking red for us sosbhoy. He is a talented player but very wreckless.

26 Jul 2023 21:28:06
I was reading an article from a Dutch journalist talking about the Volendam centre-back Xavier Mbuyamba's potential transfer. It says in the article that if we do not go after Mbuyamba that we will look to AZ Alkmaar defender Pantelis Hatzidiakos. Thought it would be worth a mention as it was a name I hadn't heard of.

SoSBhOy

1.) 27 Jul 2023 07:03:23
He's another good CB sosBhoy but I don't think we need another unless we move on scales, Welsh and Kobayashi. Iwata can cover there too. That's my thoughts anyway ?.

With Jota resigning, Celtic have 3 starting quality wingers in our squad. To have such a variety and depth ability within the squad is exciting to see.

What does our squad need within the next year to further improve the squad for European competition?

New striker to replace Kyogo.

RW to compete.

CDM to add grit in the middle.

Starting quality LB.

RCB of quality to compete.

We are not far away from having a complete squad. Considering we are looking at filling 2 of those positions.

SoSBhOy

1.) 28 Jan 2025 11:20:56
4 when Forrest is back. ?.

2.) 28 Jan 2025 11:53:08
I disagree Joe. Forrest is not a starting quality winger any more. He is a good squad player and brings plenty to the table.

The ideal situation IMO is for us to sign a RW of quality. Use JF as the 5th winger and loan Yang for 6 months - 1 year to get him much needed game time.

It would be great for Yang to get an SPL loan with consistent playing time.

3.) 28 Jan 2025 14:07:38
I am happy if Forrest starts and don't see a massive drop in quality when he does. Obviously he is not first choice anymore but is still going to contribute.

I do think we will sign another winger if Palma moves on, which suggests maeda could move to striker.

{Ed007's Note - Or suggests that Maeda will be moved on in the summer....

4.) 28 Jan 2025 16:28:35
Forrest, I think is most valuable coming on as a sub, and with 5 subs allowed players who do very well as subs are very important to us.

24 Jan 2025 12:36:16
The thought of Jota returning has me excited. Personally I don't think we will see the true quality he will bring until the end of the season beginning of next.

It is going to take him some time to get physically and mentally ready. The mistreatment in Saudi will have done a number on him.

Now he is coming home he can recover and rediscover his love for the game.

The way I see it, if we are patient for 6 months we will have a quality player and £17M profit in the bank.

1.) 24 Jan 2025 12:54:37
Minus the Benfica sell on ?.

2.) 24 Jan 2025 12:54:57
100% form is temporary, class is permanent. Can’t wait to see him back in the hoops. One of our best players of the last decade.

3.) 24 Jan 2025 15:00:48
Until the next big offer comes in. What too cynical?

4.) 24 Jan 2025 15:58:00
According to Flashscore Jota has been unavailable this month with a muscle injury.
I’ve not seen that being reported.

5.) 24 Jan 2025 16:46:24
If anything Celtic mad this experience will have changed Jota’s priorities. The relationship built with our club and fans is unique and to have an opportunity to return to the club he flourished at will mean the world to him.

I don’t think he will be in a rush to leave. And will even more so appreciate what he has at Celtic.

6.) 24 Jan 2025 17:14:15
Jota was one of the few standouts when playing for Rennes this season.

Sampiola hasn’t won a game since he took over and hasn’t played him or he’s been injured, only been in charge 7 weeks though. Also sampiola is terrible guy to get on with. He said Dembele played like an autistic person. Jota is marquee, if we can get him playing to 2/ 3rds of what we seen then I’ll be delighted. Note we will change formation to accommodate 4-2-3-1 can’t wait to see the 3 behind Idah Jota, Maeda and Khun.

7.) 24 Jan 2025 18:01:51
The relationship didn’t hold him the last time, not even pool in the Brazen Head . The permanent class seems to have left him, at least whilst in the Sahara and France . Other clubs have doubts about the permanency of his class or they would be racing to France to sign him .
I hope he finds again his class and hopefully with us, I won't expect anything wonderful this season, but hopefully by the start of the new season we will see more than just glimpses of the Jota we worshipped.

8.) 24 Jan 2025 19:47:16
I think Jota has had a big say on the move. We will find out but similar to KT he’s tried another experience and misses us a club. Their story’s may make some people think twice about leaving us either too early or for that matter EVER!

I really cannot wait to see us develop and shape over the next 2 - 4 months. Pre-season I’m equally excited about. Look what Roger’s did with Khun, stand out in preseason and standout for us this season so far. What could he do with Jota and KT. PS did someone say Vardy Loan until summer?

31 Aug 2024 14:27:32
With the new Champions League format and group games running until the 29th of January . Would it be safe to assume that no new signings in January could be added to the CL squad until the next phase of the tournament?

SoSBhOy

1.) 31 Aug 2024 15:09:33
Surely when they came up with the new format, it was built into the planning that a transfer window would happen during it.

Probably a clause that only the top 5 league participants can buy new players in January who can be added to their CL squads, just in case they aren't top of their relevant tables.

Not that I am saying they are all cheats. ?.

25 Aug 2024 15:49:37
Just watched Brendan's after match presser. We really are fortunate to have such an excellent manager and Celtic man at the helm.

Speaking of what the fans deserve for their continued support of the club even when the stadium was closed for Covid. Saying that the last 3 windows haven't been good enough and that it is something internally that will need to be addressed once the window closes.

There is no shying away. Facing every issue head on and addressing that there are problems without adding to them. And he does all this in a relaxed and jovial manner.

Sure he is tactically putting pressure on the board to get their fingers out their **** by using examples of fan loyalty but he only wants our club to develop and succeed as every supporter of our beloved club does.

Here's hoping that the club deliver in the coming days and give BR and the team the tools we need to succeed at the next level.

Spot on SoSBhoy.

2.) 25 Aug 2024 18:20:27
Should be an interesting week ahead, let's hope we get in the quality players we the supporters and manager wants.

22 Aug 2024 22:12:01
Personally I will be disappointed if we sell Kyogo. I would be glad to see Kyogo and Idah as our strikers for the next 3 / 4 years. His movements is world class. To have the option to play 2 contrasting but extremely talented players makes us a better team. He is not an easy player to replace and gives us another dimension.

SoSBhOy

1.) 22 Aug 2024 22:32:01
Agreed SosBhoy.

2.) 23 Aug 2024 04:18:10
Now is a good time to sell and to be honest we need somebody more clinical for Europe. I think the issue a lot of people have is a lack of faith that any money received will be reinvested properly.

If True what happened to all the planning for this window?

Would rather go into the rest of the season with Kenny and Cummings and give our own playing time than make desperation loan signings.

JF has not really contributed much this year when called upon. Yang has looked lively and kept possession well when given the chance. For our team to be really pushing to the next level we need new LW+ RW recruits to compete with our current starters. Forrest’s experience would be of more use in a coaching role or 5/ 6th winger in the squad.

You would imagine that Rodgers is going to be savvy and wait and see that the club are willing to continue to invest.

BR has done an incredible job and deserves the backing. I don’t seeing it being an issue as we will most likely bring in between £40 - £70M in transfer fees this summer.

The issue is replacing with a similar quality of player to that which we sell.

Maeda is world class at pressing the opposition. His work rate is phenomenal. Then on top of that he is contributing massively at the top end of the pitch.

16 goals and 8 assists so far with 3 of those goals coming in the champions league. Daizen has finally put it all together.

It’s quite surprising that there has been no bids for such an all round performer. I’m not looking for him to leave as it would be a massive loss but can’t see him being with us beyond the summer window.

How much is Daizen worth?

Ed has there been any interest as I haven’t noticed any articles mentioning anything in this regard?

SoSBhOy

{Ed007's Note - It's a strange one, SB. I can only imagine that any enquiries about Maeda are swatted away, even by his agent by the looks of it, off the top of my head I can only remember him being linked with Southampton a couple of years back.}

I might be in denial but I just can’t see it happening. It make no rational sense at all.
