A post that could being some positivity, apparently Giakoumakis is to return to training and could make the squad for the Aberdeen game. HH ?.

1.) 26 Sep 2021 19:33:20
Even half fit, he couldn't be as bad as Ajeti.

2.) 26 Sep 2021 20:52:31
DLBIA, if big Giorgious hadn't got injured the other night he probably plays today and, chances are, scores 2 or 3 and we win the game comfortably.

17 Aug 2021 19:37:53
Bid accepted for Juranovic apparently.

1.) 17 Aug 2021 20:02:17
Sly have reported a £2.5 million offer has been accepted but small details have still to be sorted.
Maybe the clubs have still to agree on instalments and any sell on percentage.
The player has also still to agree on personal terms.
It looks like it should be sealed by the 11pm deadline.

2.) 17 Aug 2021 20:37:02
Reports buzz seem to be suggesting that is fee has been agreed with both clubs. Its the personal terms with the player that needs to be agreed. Fingers crossed 🤞 it gets sorted.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 20:49:57
Is the deadline tonight Buzz? Or can we still add him in as a wildcard if it doesn't get finalized tonight?

4.) 17 Aug 2021 21:05:18
Clubs can add 2 wildcards to their European squads, up until 11pm the day before the first legs.
If Celtic sign him after 11pm tonight, he can’t play against AZ but he will be able to play in the group games.

5.) 18 Aug 2021 13:07:26
I'm getting my days mixed up thought it was Monday yesterday 🤦🏻‍♂️ It's unfortunate that we couldn't get him signed by the 11pm deadline but at least Ralston is in fine form hopefully he doesn't pick up a knock.

27 Jul 2021 18:32:21
It's all gone a bit crazy today with activity. Buta apparently a done deal. In talks with City over Itakura, linked with Ghana RB Benson Anang as well as Croatian RB Juranovic, Brighton bid for Eddy, Linked to Peruvian striker Gianluca Lapadula, all in one afternoon.

1.) 27 Jul 2021 19:54:16
What's the deal that's done?

2.) 27 Jul 2021 20:38:57
Buta from Antwerp.

3.) 27 Jul 2021 20:51:34
Yeah sorry, I really need to start wearing my reading glasses when looking at my phone lol.

4.) 27 Jul 2021 21:01:29
Apparently Man. City ate looking for a hefty loan fee for Itakura who's presently at the Olympics.

5.) 27 Jul 2021 21:43:36
Luckily we've just received £13.5M Pedro. With another £20M or so soon to follow. It could well be a tactic to try and gets suitors to thrash out a permanent deal for him now.

6.) 27 Jul 2021 21:45:42
Not seen any stories that Buta is done. Where you hearing? Hopefully get him in and he's decent.

7.) 27 Jul 2021 22:50:57
Pedro it’s because they’d be sending him out on loan with a year left in his contract.

8.) 27 Jul 2021 23:09:54
Yep, you could be right Kevbhoy. I'm just conscious we need another 5 or 6 first team ready players.

Still plenty of time in this window.

29 Jun 2021 01:27:32
Celtic being linked with Japanese Man City CB Itakura. He was on loan at Groningen last season (the team we got VVD from) boy looks a player! Itakura/ Vuskovic is a young exciting partnership for next season if it happens.

1.) 29 Jun 2021 10:53:38
Personally I can't see the Japanese boy coming in any time soon if he does. He has been called up to the Japan Olympics squad so by the time it's finished and if he needs to quarantine we will be looking at towards the end of August before he gets here.

2.) 29 Jun 2021 13:38:19
What was the last exciting young centre half partnership we had? VVD and denayer? One from groningen and one from man City, hopefully history repeats itself.

3.) 29 Jun 2021 20:32:59
If we where to sign the guy there is no doubt he would get released from the Japan squad, has already happened with another player.

There not the type of country who come the person when there players are getting big moves.

4.) 29 Jun 2021 20:35:47
Could be an ideal loan to buy deal if he settles in. Looks like a signing to get passed around City Group and their affiliates (which we are) rather than for Man City. Can't imagine he'd cost the earth to sign permanently if we agree a fee first.

5.) 30 Jun 2021 13:02:33
A loan to buy would be a good move. Can see big Jullien wanting away next summer so Itakura could be his replacement.

18 Jun 2021 07:28:39
Rumour this morning is Leicester have had a bid accepted for Daka of Salzburg and Eddy is considering staying and leaving for free next season. Club was apparently holding out for £25m for him. If true this could massively affect our budget if we don't manage to get a fee for him in this window.

1.) 18 Jun 2021 07:37:15
Or we keep Eddy and have a better chance winning the title to get a Guarantee entry into the group stages next year 🤔🤔.

2.) 18 Jun 2021 08:31:26
Keeping an unhappy player with one eye on the door cannot be a good thing - Eddy or whoever? - He showed a very poor attitude (along with others last season and obviously has no Celtic ambitions left; when you compare his form and work rate from his first two seasons, I think it tells a story and we should take the best offer that comes.

3.) 18 Jun 2021 08:35:28
Get him away if he no want to be here. His attitude was terrible at times last year no want a repeat of that. Get a striker who is hungry for goals and wants to play for us.

4.) 18 Jun 2021 09:03:18
Punt him first opportunity.

5.) 18 Jun 2021 09:44:42
If Eddy isn't willing to sign an extension, which by the looks of things he isn't. Then him leaving on a free simply can't be allowed to happen. It's bad enough that we'll have to accept a reduced fee for him. C.V. has destroyed whatever money we had in reserve, I'd imagine. We need money from his sale to help with the rebuild.

6.) 18 Jun 2021 11:41:46
OAB, if it's his decision to stay then he'd have no reason to be unhappy. If he plays out his skin and is available on a free then he'd be incentivised to produce the goods big time. I still think he'll go though.

7.) 18 Jun 2021 16:32:49
If eddy wants to stay and show the new manager what he can do then that’s fine by me. 9m for 4 or 5 years service isn’t a bad return. There’s also the chance he will be wanting to put himself in the shop window so to speak, so his agent can strike a better deal for him. Again we benefit. That said, if his attitude is like last season then punt him.

8.) 19 Jun 2021 12:00:18
No chance do I want us to keep him just to help us in league when he signs pre contract half way through season and downs tools or at least in final month or 2 doesn’t want to risk getting injured and we get no fee for him!
Get him sold even if it’s only £15m it’s still a big addition to transfer funds.
I think he will go for somewhere between £15m and £20m if board seriously thinks we can get £25m with a year left on his contract they are taking a massive risk IMO.

9.) 21 Jun 2021 02:39:05
Eddy will go, agents just playing clubs getting best move for eddy.

10.) 21 Jun 2021 14:49:04
Agree with Chris, why would Eddy stay for another season when he wanted any 12 months ago?

If McGregor is out for the derby then it's likely it'll be Hatate and O'Riley as the 2 attacking MF. Who would people like to see in the holding role? McCarthy, Bitton or Guchi?

1.) 23 Jan 2022 18:49:26
McCarthy or bitton for me if pushed probably bitton he usually does very little wrong at cdm. Gucci I don't know enough about yet.

2.) 23 Jan 2022 18:58:49
That’s a good question.
I don’t think anyone stands out because we haven’t seen enough of Guchi yet.
I wouldn’t have a problem playing any of those 3 midfielders.

3.) 23 Jan 2022 20:56:26
Personally I think McCarthy is past his best so I wouldn’t want him near the team v Hearts or Sevco. That’s my opinion so I would much rather have Bitton out of the two.

4.) 23 Jan 2022 23:44:38
In terms of derby experience I'd go with Nir too. He's solid at CDM don't like him at CB. Too much of a risk playing 3 players that's not had much game time for us all starting the match.

5.) 24 Jan 2022 00:11:34
Definetly bitton. He has been excellent when playing at CDM this year. He's had some very tidy and clever performances.

19 Jan 2022 13:34:35
Apparently Matt O'Reilly from MK Don's is due to have a medical with us. Looks like the English Tom Rogic ?.

1.) 19 Jan 2022 17:08:51
Plays half a dozen decent games a season.

2.) 19 Jan 2022 17:32:17
Completed 90 mins twice in first 7 seasons ?

☘ ? ☘.

3.) 19 Jan 2022 17:46:29
O’Riley has scored 10 league goals and he’s also had 7 league assists in the last 12 months.
Maybe he was scoring doubles or hat tricks and the same with his assists and he was rubbish in all the other matches. ?.

4.) 19 Jan 2022 18:23:14
Buzz I watched the highlight video that's doing the rounds. Assing range looks excellent for the limited amount on show. He would have assisted a lot more if he had better attackers on the end of his deliveries. Could be ideal picking out kyogo and maeda.

5.) 19 Jan 2022 18:57:45
Hypothetical question, if we sign this lad, I understand he's a midfielder, where does he play?

Presumably coming off the bench with one eye on a starting 11 place in the future?

If he's decent then he will add to what is shaping up to be a far stronger group of 16 or so first team players than we've had in a long while.

A LB and decent back up keeper and we'll nearly there.

☘ ? ☘ ? ☘.

6.) 19 Jan 2022 20:08:30
"Hypothetical question, if we sign this lad, I understand he's a midfielder, where does he play? "

Midfield maybe!

7.) 19 Jan 2022 20:20:01
Biton rogic are fast approaching the last few years of career don't think mcarthy will feature heavily . is turnbulls coat on a shoogly peg? . listening last night st johnstone seem to be struggling for forwards . a loan for Kenny or dawson or both maybe.

8.) 19 Jan 2022 20:22:45
Pedro. between taylor jj and scales even hatate imo we have lb well covered.

9.) 19 Jan 2022 20:50:23
DRB, would you not prefer JJ at RB and a first choice LB to come in?

☘ ? ☘.

10.) 19 Jan 2022 20:52:44
Jonbhoy71,

I'll rephrase my question, just for you, who does he replace in midfield ??

☘ ? ☘.

11.) 19 Jan 2022 21:29:30
Pedro71

Why do we need to replace someone in midfield? can't we have players in the squad who are good enough and can come in if we have injuries or international call ups.
We can't keep expecting players like CalMac to play 50 odd games every season.
Would you be happy to bring Sorro in for a run of games if we get 3 or 4 injuries in central midfield.

12.) 19 Jan 2022 21:47:11
Pedro. I don't think ralston (or for that matter welsh) deserves to be left out giving his form so far . he had put in a few mom performances during his resurgance . and with jj playing well at lb why change it .

13.) 19 Jan 2022 23:04:19
Who’s replacing who or am I missing the point. No dof just ange or is ange doing both and bringing players in on long term contracts to build for the future. If you don’t see the bigger picture you never will.

14.) 20 Jan 2022 00:02:08
Looking at his highlights he plays the nice ball over the line of defence. If we sign him it looks as if were signing him purely to utilise his passes in behind for Kyogos runs?

27 Dec 2021 21:20:30
With the window due to open what positions do people think we need to strengthen? Also who would they like to see leave the club?

If we get the 3 Japanese bhoys in then leaving the club for me would be

Barkas - Loan/ Sell
Urhoghide - Loan to SPL
Boli - Sell
Shaw - Loan to SPL
Montgomery - Loan SPL/ Possibly keep for cover
Ajeti - Sell
Soro - Loan/ Sell

If we get the 3 Japanese boys then we maybe only need another winger to cover both flanks either a loan or a youngster like Markanday in.

1.) 27 Dec 2021 22:01:26
Joe Hart will be 35 years old when this season ends and we should be looking for his long term replacement in the summer.
Celtic should try and move on both Barkas and Bain. A decision will also need to be made on Hazard.
Hazard will be 24 years old when this season ends and if he isn’t good enough to be our future number 1 keeper, Celtic will need to buy a new keeper next season that can challenge Joe Hart.
Both Bain and Hazard’s contracts expire on May 31st 2023.

2.) 27 Dec 2021 23:38:07
Julien should be sold when fit. Even if we sign CCV we need another dominant CD and a GK.

3.) 28 Dec 2021 00:40:56
100% agree BuzzBomb, I'm not convinced Barkas/ Bain or Hazzard are good enough.

Hart could play for another 2 or 3 seasons, whether as first choice or back up should we bring in his potential replacement in the summer window (all things being fair and equal) .

Good reports about the young GK we got from Spurs, he could well be 3rd choice as soon as next season.

☘ ? ☘.

4.) 28 Dec 2021 03:27:45
I think we may already have Harts replacement in the young English U23's goalkeeper, sorry I've forgot the boys name.

5.) 28 Dec 2021 03:35:31
Agree, Oluwayemi is meant to be highly rated. Maybe wise to get him out on loan to gain some first team experience in the lower leagues for now while Bain is still here. Really can't see Hazard being the answer he won us the cup but dropped some clangers in a few games prior and doesn't look to be good enough to compete for the #1 jersey.

6.) 28 Dec 2021 07:38:45
Jonbhoy 71
Got told good things about the young Keeper.

7.) 28 Dec 2021 10:16:03
How many players have we heard good things about, some players just don't live up to the potential,

8.) 28 Dec 2021 17:42:32
Hart is only 34 and when you consider how good Gordon and McGregor have been at 39 and 40 then big Joe has a fair bit to go in my opinion.

9.) 28 Dec 2021 21:14:34
I agree royjac, I can see Hart being our No:1 for the next 4 or 5 years if he wants to stay.
The problem we may have is if he continues to play well then an English team may come back in for bhim and offer him there No:1 Jersey.
I'm not saying he could go for money but one last lost in the EPL may be tempting for him after a couple of years up here.

10.) 28 Dec 2021 21:31:23
I don't think he would Jonbhoy he has done it all down there before and has nothing to prove to anyone, I think he has fallen in love with the hoops and I can see him staying for a good while ??.

11.) 29 Dec 2021 02:47:04
I hope so Roy as I honestly think he will be the difference between winning and losing the league.

05 Dec 2021 23:17:20
A wee Ronny Deila appreciation post. He's just won the Eastern Conference with New York City. ?.

16 Oct 2021 20:31:38
That was a proper away performance especially after an international break at a tough ground. Decent tempo, controlled the game, Defence was solid and 2 nice goals to boot. Boli has looked good under Ange when called upon but madness with the handball today. GG looked good in his cameo and probably could've been on the scoresheet if he was a bit more selfish. Results went in our favour too so all in all a happy Saturday ? Now time to get pished ? HH.

1.) 16 Oct 2021 21:20:22
Boli's handball was really dumb by him but other than that he had a decent game surprised wee Gollum didn't see it and give it and we got lucky the sub ref was absolutely blind but as they said in the commentary it leveled things up since Mugabe should have had a red I thought Bitton played well when he came on lots of one-touch passes some nice wee glimpses from GG and Mikey Johnstone too all in all a good day for us.

2.) 16 Oct 2021 22:00:22
Think it happened after Collum was 'substituted', but all the same we got a very surprisingly free-flowing game compared to other recent away games disrupted by dubious and/ or petty free kick decisions.

Needs a good run of games to build fitness and show what he can do. Unfortunately that isn't with us. He's always threatened to be a player then gets injured. Hopefully we have a winger lined up for cover I will take the lad from Alkmaar.

Would be beneficial for his development to go out on loan and get a solid run of matches under his belt. Said in an earlier post about a potential loan or keep depending on our situation with injuries. But we look like we'll be well covered for the 2nd half of the season. I hope it's to a prem team and not lower league.

I'm not convinced we're after this Kendouchi lad. Seems like they're after him and it's the usual media pish to link us to him as well and make put we got "snubbed" in favour of them. Same patter with Souttar.

Kind of reminds me of Commons, Seems to take up the right areas in the box almost like a stikers instinct. Looks to have a better turn of pace than Rogic and Turnbull too. YouTube his scorpion goal it's a belter.

It doesn't really matter we won the game and certain fans will find a negative to bash a certain player. All that matters is we got through and we go on to play Raith. If anything it was probably a collective as we was so dominant in that game as you say we was slow getting back into our shape and some got caught out too far up the park. We should be seeing the game out better and keep possession. Think the team will be more switched on against better opposition and it was our 2nd game back and a few players that have hardly played got some much needed minutes.

Do you remember Jullien before he got injured? He is good in the air but I'd hardly say he's strong, if anything he is guilty of being too powerpuff when up against a physical striker.

McCarthy has started to look good last few games he's played. I don't know what his situation is now we've signed 3 in midfield but he's definitely dropped down the pecking order a bit.

{Ed007's Note - Or pushed his way above Bitton....
