So lennon saying 2-3 players in tomorrow and Tuesday and hopefully take them to Sweden to integrate them with squad! Dear god I hope he knows something concrete on this actually happening because if it doesn’t happen after all the other stuff he’s came out with he will get an absolute pounding! I really wish he would just say nothing honestly! Even if he does know for certain just keep quiet until it’s done and dusted! On the game today, massive credit to bayo for his 2 goals! Should give him massive confidence while also showing Griffiths he needs to keep on his toes! Good win after a mid week game and love seeing levein getting humped! lol.

1.) 25 Aug 2019 22:07:59
Danny Lenny has been saying the same thing for the last 6 weeks. Don’t hold your breath on any signings before we head to Stockholm.

2.) 25 Aug 2019 22:21:30
Taylor and Wanyama makes 2, probably wishful thinking for Wanyama, keeps us guessing anyhow.

3.) 25 Aug 2019 23:14:01
That’s exactly my point ice man. he's constantly said the same thing since the start of the window! Instead of just keeping quiet and getting deals done! He’s been very specific this time about time frame and just setting himself up for a fall! Hope I’m wrong mind u and we do sign 3 some time this week but given our track record I’m sceltical to say the least!

4.) 26 Aug 2019 04:26:47
I don’t think you can really blame Lennon. He’s not stupid it could all be part of getting the board to push things threw but I would imagine he does think we are on the right path. Lennon is a emotional guy you’d be able to read if he was getting frustrated. We looks good today and boli and julien both look to be settling in now.

5.) 26 Aug 2019 05:31:43
Ffs at every press conference he gets asked the same question would yous prefer it if he just said right there's nobody coming in and that's it. Yous would be on here foaming at the mouth give the man a break.

6.) 26 Aug 2019 08:03:44
All we want is the truth. I would rather him and the board were honest with us than keep stringing us along.

7.) 26 Aug 2019 08:56:03
They want between 9-14M for Wanyama he isn’t coming back! Melling and Taylor and that will be it.

8.) 26 Aug 2019 10:38:55
3-4 players has now become 2-3. I'm hoping it's 3 and the sacrifice is another striker and Bayo is used more. Seems Lennon is getting it out there what he wants so the board pulls their finger out and meets his requirements.

9.) 26 Aug 2019 10:48:46
He signed forster so he's right one from 4 is 3.

10.) 26 Aug 2019 11:24:16
Mally i would prefer he kept it zipped until something is actually done! All transfer window he’s been saying the same thing! So the answer is aye I would prefer he said nothing until the deals are done and dusted!

11.) 26 Aug 2019 12:15:50
Fkcfc1 there is no way on this planet we will sign two more left backs🤣.

12.) 26 Aug 2019 12:48:24
Danny come on if he said nothing he'd get slaughtered for that to he's asked a question and answered it honestly he also said he won't talk about players until they are over the line.

13.) 26 Aug 2019 13:13:43
Na can’t agree Mally! All he had to say was hoping to make a few by the deadline and leave it at that! To go into getting players in today or tomorrow and bringing them to Sweden with a view to the weekends game sets him up for a fall yet again! We’ve been hearing it all summer mate and more often than not been let down!

14.) 26 Aug 2019 13:16:21
Lennon should wait till he deals are done ut he has been saying all through the qualifiers that we would have players in for the next round then the next the guy talks rubbish to string us along don't believe anything he says.

19 Aug 2019 09:55:36
So we’re now a week on from the shambles of the cluj game, 1 week less of the transfer window and still no sign of players coming in! No left back no right back cover or midfielder! A disgrace is an understatement by the way! Not a hint of being proactive and trying to boost morale for fans and the team! Held in utter contempt by lawell and the rest how are running our club! How many feel he should walk if we fail to do number 9? And take the manager with him! There’s a dark cloud hanging over our great club right now when it should be the exact opposite! Scunnered is putting it mildly!

1.) 19 Aug 2019 14:28:47
Brilliant post Danny I feel exactly the same.

2.) 19 Aug 2019 15:05:12
It’s actually beyond a joke Tony! We’ve yet again dragged our heels through another transfer window! It’s staggering how inept our transfer dealings are by the way! Like I said a week on from a disastrous result in Europe and not even a hint of some fresh faces to lift what for me after Saturday looks a massively downbeat squad! It’s to good enough by a long shot but the galling this is that the people in ‘charge’ of our club couldn’t give a toss what the fans think!

3.) 19 Aug 2019 23:09:56
In my opinion, We can't wait until the 9 is gone. To me The Clueless One has 2 weeks to get this sorted. If we get knocked out of the EL and lose at Mordor then he has to go, personally I didn't want him back in the first place even when Rodgers walked.
We desperately need a DOF who will tell Lawwell to stay out of football matters and concentrate on what he does best.

30 Aug 2019 08:53:04
So we’ve went from expecting quality bodies in to now lennon doesn’t know if there will be any more and he’ll have to ask the ‘big man’ lawell about it! It’s cringeworthy stuff honestly!

1.) 30 Aug 2019 11:50:25
That statement showed me he has feck all power. Cringeworthy. He should be demanding what we so clearly need. Not crawl further up the arse of they guy who is preventing us being better. I wish you could say you couldn’t make it up. But we make it up every feckin window. This one looks to be going the same way. Destination Oh Feck, Lawell Done it Again.

28 Aug 2019 22:10:00
See Prague beat cluj 2 nil over the 2 leagues to go into the CL. massive opportunity missed for us by the way! Prague must a been stunned that they didn’t get us in the play off round!

1.) 28 Aug 2019 22:26:12
I’m still not over that. you could say we were lucky not to get embarrassed by Prague as they might have double pumped us.

2.) 28 Aug 2019 22:44:39
Stuart if you offered me cluj then Prague to get in the CL I would have took that! 2 very winnable games, especially cluj! Just a huge disappointment that our transfer dealings and idiotic team selection cost us a chance to play CL football and pocket a load of cash! Bitterly disappointed!

3.) 28 Aug 2019 23:11:06
Prague are not that good, they would have been swept aside if Lenny had picked the right team.

4.) 28 Aug 2019 23:56:21
Wasn’t impressed by Prague. Definitely think we could have put them out. Making a complete erse of the Cluj game was a traincrash we kinda knew was coming. Made worse by being entirely self inflicted through several headshots. Maybe one day we will realise we need to be ready.

Aye right :)

5.) 29 Aug 2019 06:14:35
Magic pole, with the loan signings we are getting in, it would seem we again haven’t learnt any lessons . The board must think we have bad luck time and again. The short sighted approach is happening again, as if we are lucky enough to win the league, we are shopping around early to try and replace the loan players.

6.) 29 Aug 2019 07:27:37
Both cluj and Prague based on watching both teams should’ve been games we were more than capable of winning. Same opinion as others, we never seem to get business done early enough to give us the best possible chance to progress. Year in year out we try negotiating these ties with a view that we will really strengthen once the group stages have been achieved. Very short sighted view by the club and whilst we have no choice but to accept loan signings as the club seem quite content on going down that route, we need quality players on permanent deals to progress properly, what’s the point in getting loans in unless we have a right to buy as players come here, play well then go back to their retrospective clubs ie Roberts, benkovic etc etc.

7.) 29 Aug 2019 07:27:45
Not being ready is our problem, i’m Glad we’ve got the right back in but the fact it’s a loan makes me wonder what we’ve been doing for the last 6 months at least. And let’s face it we’re not as ready as we should be for tonight and Sunday as we’ll be blooding someone unfamiliar with the team if he even starts.

8.) 29 Aug 2019 09:52:31
The qualifiers come so early in these transfer windows, that the proper time to prepare for the following season would sensibly be the January Window. I appreciate the choice is more limited, but there may be less competition and they would have months to settle in.
At present the trend of selling a top player, then scrambling around for months 'patching up', while the qualifiers get tougher has caught us out too often. The club needs to learn from these mistakes.

9.) 29 Aug 2019 10:01:31
Lennons tactics cost us could maybe have sneaked through with McGregor left back. Not to protect the lead twice was criminal.

10.) 29 Aug 2019 10:39:32
Lennon should have had a drinks and drugs test after that cluj game I still can't get my head around any of his SO called tactics that night.

27 Aug 2019 09:26:53
Well I’m looking forward to see who comes in today then lads! Should we expect 2 or 3 do u think? Left back right back and a defensive midfielder I’m thinking!

1.) 27 Aug 2019 10:26:50
Not sure if this is sarcasm or just optimism Danny.

2.) 27 Aug 2019 12:36:58
Optimism Celtic and transfer window don’t go Jim so it’s got to be sarcasm! Lol. said the other day lennon just can’t help but opening his trap and looks like i’ll be proved right once again! He’s full of crap and has as much idea about our transfer dealings as we do!

3.) 27 Aug 2019 13:29:59
I thought it must have been. When it comes to transfer windows and what managers want I learnt a while ago to take everything they say with a pinch of salt. A shot of tequila. And a squeeze of lime.

4.) 27 Aug 2019 14:00:17
It’s not what managers want for me Jim. we all know Mansgers at most clubs rarely get everything they want in the transfer window. my gripe is the guy who’s supposed to be our manager spouting utter garbage all the way through this transfer window! Loved lennon as a player and first time as mangager but for me he’s become the punchline of a bad joke! His credibility when it comes to transfer dealings has seriously got to be questioned! Is it a case of talk utter rubbish until the transfer window slams shut then all the problems disappear and no questions will be asked! Thursday and Sunday will shape our season and tell us all where we are as a club, but yet again no fresh bodies bought to help and lift the squad! Nearly 5 weeks since we signed the big Israel boy!

5.) 27 Aug 2019 14:22:40
I get what you're saying and I'm with you on it. I think sometimes the manager uses the press to apply a bit pressure to the board. I didn't actually read NL's comments bud. Did he say he wanted or expected the players?

6.) 27 Aug 2019 15:03:02
Said hoping to have a couple of quality players in by Monday or Tuesday and would like to take them to Sweden with us to integrate them with the players before Sunday’s game! It’s pure and utter nonsense once again!

7.) 27 Aug 2019 15:47:16
It's the 'get the business done early' line that makes me laugh. Every single window. Yet every single window we're here in the last few days hoping for a late surprise.

8.) 27 Aug 2019 17:33:33
It’s actually beyond embarrassing Jim! How a club our size cannot be proactive in the transfer market not only baffles me, it actually makes me angry! We’ve lost a dozen players and replaced them with 3! 2 of whom the manager can’t trust for our biggest game of the season so far and the other who has spent most of the time injured! No cover at left back, no cover at right back where our best centre half has to play! All on the back of going out the CL to an average team for the 2nd season in a row while playing our best midfielder at left back! Its like a sketch from monty python honestly! Apart from none of its fkn funny!

17 Aug 2019 11:37:54
Lawell lands position on champions league revamp panel! How ironic when he’s made a rip roaring can't of us trying to get there more often than not these past 6-7 years!

1.) 17 Aug 2019 12:31:35
Awful post.

2.) 17 Aug 2019 12:46:37
Having both lawwell and van der sar on that can only be good for both us and Scottish football as a whole.

3.) 17 Aug 2019 12:48:22
Go on malky hit us with your counter argument then! Have we not failed miserably to get into the champions league 4 out the last 6 years? Through poor transfer policy and cheap option managers? Go on give us your pearls of wisdom and don’t just write awful post and bugger off!

4.) 17 Aug 2019 12:52:51
Didny know peter picked the team or the tactics . nonsense.

5.) 17 Aug 2019 13:07:19
Lawwel had nothing to do with us going out this year.
Lennon had all the tools at his disposal and just choose either not to use them or not to use them properly.

6.) 17 Aug 2019 13:45:32
Forgive me but who was it that picked the manager that picks the team and tactics! Burying your heads in the sand if u don’t think lawell should shoulder at least some of the blame! To say he had nothing to do with us going out yet again to clubs with less resources than us again yet again for the 4th time in 6 years is laughable! And your not quite getting the meaning of irony by the sound of it! A guy on a panel of a board about a competition we can’t get into it is is like a bad joke!

7.) 17 Aug 2019 13:50:43
And Mally go back and tell me when I said lawell pics the team or tactics! Good to just make stuff up int it! I said our transfer policy and cheap option mangagers were the cause! And if I’m not mistaken lawell deals with both those departments does he not? Or is someone else who appointed Lennon to the job without even speaking to anyone else!

8.) 17 Aug 2019 14:08:35
Careful there Danny, you are not allowed to slag peter on this group 😉😂.

9.) 17 Aug 2019 15:39:57
Incredible that people can’t see lawells part in this latest embarrassment! Lennon made an arse of his tactics and game management absolutely no doubt about it! But who felt the need to not even interview or speak to other candidates for the job? And who let lee Congerton hang about 3 or 4 months after the rat left, hence leaving us playing catch up in the transfer window! None of that lawells fault I’m guessing!

16 Aug 2019 07:58:14
had to change my username ED (lh86) posted umpteen times since Tuesday and nothing bud! Lol. hopefully this ones better.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

1.) 16 Aug 2019 09:58:51
How’s things anyway ED? See Uve been laying low. any thoughts (that are printable 🤣) about Tuesdays embarrassment?

{Ed007's Note - The manager arrogantly underestimated Cluj and thought he would get away with his bizarre/stupid team selection and tactics against an inferior team.
The usual overreaction - to anything - is not surprising.}

2.) 16 Aug 2019 10:23:59
Come on Ed its hardly an over reaction lennon is tactically unaware his team selection really lave something to be desired he blamed the team for the failings on Tuesday and he is partly right but at the end of the day the buck stops with him. He will take all the plaudits for being successful but wants to pass the buck when things are going wrong. I personally didn't want lennon back and I have admitted that numerous times but when he was appointed I was hoping he would have been successful and I still hope he is but I don't think it should be at our club.

{Ed007's Note - It's an overreaction because if you went into it with your eyes open you would have seen how difficult it was going to be for us to make the group stages. We struggle every year to do it and now that we've went down the cheap route with the management team and the squad needing an overhaul how could anyone realistically have been confident?
When we drew Cluj I was told by someone that's been good friends with Petrescu since he came to England that he was fine coach and tactician who could easily outsmart Lennon, Lennons team selection and tactics made it even easier for him.
I'd have been more surprised if we had made the group stages and I'll be just even more surprised if we get through the qualifiers next summer.
We like to see ourselves as a CL club when it's obvious by our management & player recruitment that we aren't. The Club rarely shows any real ambition and when we do we end up shooting ourselves in the foot and screwing things up.
And it's going to keep on happening until we bring in a Director of Football and take that power away from Lawwell.
Who's in charge of the overall footballing department, who's looking to the future and putting long term plans into practice, who's running the scouting & recruitment department? Neither Lennon or Lawwell are qualified to do any of that and it's showing and starting to take its toll.
Contrary to said overreaction we're still miles ahead domestically and we will win the league and maybe the Scottish Cup, the board are running the Club to maintain our place as a HUGE fish in a small pond but they continuously drop the ball when it comes to taking the next step up.}

3.) 16 Aug 2019 10:25:49
I know you didn't want him ed but would you have sacked him after That?

I never call for a managers head. But I'd have sacked him.

{Ed007's Note - He should never have got the job in the first place, Kev but I wouldn't sack him and once the 9th title's delivered all will be forgiven by the usual suspects.}

4.) 16 Aug 2019 11:20:47
Kev, you keep saying you never call for a managers head yet you wanted Lenny sacked at half time on Tuesday.

5.) 16 Aug 2019 11:29:26
I don't think it's a formality to get 9 iAR not because the opposition is any better but IMO we are far weaker than last year with Lennon in charge I hope to God I am wrong his tactics for even the cup final was crazy we got lucky with a penalty in that game Just still thinking I am in a crazy dream and will waken up soon.

6.) 16 Aug 2019 11:40:20
I’m not so sure everything will be forgiven this time Ed . The penny has dropped with a few more this time, realising that we are only trying to be the big fish in the small pond . I can only see the mood becoming worse, especially if we lose at ipox .

{Ed007's Note - You've already got people trying to blame Lawwell etc- even John Kennedy - for Tuesday's fiasco when the blame lies solely at the manager's feet.
I wonder if all the supporters that blame Kennedy for our defensive frailties - even though he isn't our defensive coach - also give him the credit for the likes of Virgil, Tierney & Ajer?}

7.) 16 Aug 2019 12:03:58
Leon my point was that I have never before called on a manager to be sacked until now.

8.) 16 Aug 2019 12:07:08
Oh and Leon I wanted him sacked the minute I seen the line up. I could see what was coming and our manager couldn't. What does that tell you?

9.) 16 Aug 2019 12:07:32
Al back lenny but Tues was all his doing nothing to do with Pedro the squad we have should have been good enough. ib saying that my gripe is we are never ready we never get business done early so players are fit and settled it's not rocket science even the great Rodgers went out to a pish athens team.

10.) 16 Aug 2019 12:36:55
That fact is Malky if you go back and look at what could have been achieved this summer if Lawwell actually pushed the boat out and used the 10 million we acquired from Rodgers moving on an actual decent coaching set up we could potentially be going into the next qualifier. Due to Lennons terrible tactics and decision making we went out. If we had a decent manager we’d be through. Dan Petrescu himself said it would take a miracle for Cluj to beat our squad and they put us away for good. That’s where the issue lies for me and always has been. The moment Lennon was appointed was the moment we took that step backwards. The fact Lawwell mentioned that he hadn’t even looked at applications says the lot. Absolute nob of a man.

{Ed007's Note - I said at the time the Elyounassi signing excited me, Danny. Once he's up to speed we could be looking at a potential Scottish POTY. There's no way he's become a bad player after a year in the Pub League where he still managed about 20(?) appearances and really only lost his place when a new manager came in.}
