I've been told that Celtic are extremely confident Edouard will sign a new and improved contract and that the club are pushing hard to sign Ivan Tony in the summer who they believe we take over the mantle when Eddy eventually moves on.

Ice Man

1.) 14 Mar 2020 13:52:35
Good news but what was the point of Klimala? Seems a big outley for a future squad player?

19 Feb 2020 21:38:21
Thought I'd share this with you guys. Was speaking to a guy today from Leicester (not a City fan. Grew up an Evertonian) . Anyway we were chatting football and told him I was a Celtic fan. He said you guys are getting a new shirt manufacturer aren't you? I told him nothing was confirmed but Adidas has been mentioned. He told me it definitely will be Adidas as the firm he works for has a contract with Adidas doing retail signs and he is coming back up to Scotland in the next few months to put them into 2 Celtic stores. The first one being at the stadium.

Ice Man

1.) 20 Feb 2020 11:14:02
I thought it was an open secret since the end of last year that we were moving to Adidas?

Surely though any signage wouldn't be put up to the close season as opposed to the next few months as New Balance will have the rights to the end of the season.

2.) 20 Feb 2020 12:30:46
We’re now in mid February and the season finishes in May. That to me would be the next few months.

3.) 20 Feb 2020 12:38:48
Good move should be lucrative. heard that's who the sevvies want when the mighty Hummel chuck it.

4.) 20 Feb 2020 16:01:59
Not unless adidas see the advert pimping themselves out for a new manufacturer 😂😂😂.

31 Jan 2020 11:52:42
Just going to share what I've heard from a mate down south. A few teams including Hibs and Rapid Vienna interested in taking Bayo on loan. Celtic only willing to allow this if they can bring in Jordan Rhodes. Sheff Wed currently looking to bring in another striker with Connor Wickham and Josh Windass being targeted before allowing Rhodes to leave.

Ed I've heard a rumour Griff could be set for a move to the MLS. Have you heard anything?

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - No mate.}

1.) 13 Jan 2020 20:44:06
Find that quite plausible, Ice Man: he'd be the kind of player, at the stage in his career, that they often look to bring in. I would never write-off Griff, but wonder what the fø©« is going on with him.

2.) 13 Jan 2020 20:59:17
Could he be teaming up with the manager that got the best out of him?

12 Jan 2020 17:48:50
Reports saying we have had a £5.4m offer rejected for Willem II Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis. I'm assuming if this is true we turned our attention to Klimala or could we be preparing for life after Eddie or maybe Griff and Bayo could be for the off.

Guy on twitter set up a fake account and started this rumour. Shows how simple it really is.

There's absolutely no doubt last night was a huge disappointment, but let me ask you this Bhoys. Would you trade our current league position for a run to the latter stages of the Europa League. I know my answer 🍀.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - I would, we could easily afford to be only 8/9/10/11 points ahead in the league and still win it.}

1.) 28 Feb 2020 20:50:48
I wouldn’t trade our current position. Now we can go on and make more domestic history.

{Ed007's Note - Trade what for it? We're 12 points clear so couple of points would be a fair trade, we wouldn't be in our current position points wise, we'd still be going for more domestic history and still in Europe.}

2.) 28 Feb 2020 21:23:53
I wouldn’t trade a few points to stay in Europe.
I couldn’t care less about Europe. As far as I’m concerned it’s only a distraction.

{Ed007's Note - See it's that kind of attitude that has got us the CEO/board and manager we have AND a fargin vegan food stall at Celtic Park - SHOCKING!!}

3.) 28 Feb 2020 21:37:58
I'm gutted about seeing how Copenhagen got in the draw today. Istanbul, I think they got the weakest team of the draw and would of fancied our chances had we bet copenhagen.

4.) 28 Feb 2020 21:45:56
Sorry but I don't buy I to this "one or the other" stuff. We had a chance to do something really special at home AND in Europe and blew it big time. If Europe is such a distraction for us then it would be just as much of a distraction for Rangers so there's no reason that it would affect the points gap in the league.

5.) 28 Feb 2020 22:09:56
C'mon Philtim I know of at least one weaker team Copenhagen could of got 😁.

6.) 28 Feb 2020 22:25:12
Phil, Copenhagen were the weakest team we could have drawn in the last round and we couldn’t get past them.

7.) 28 Feb 2020 22:34:37
Bang on kev Bhoy! See this what postion would u rather be in questing it’s nonsense! Is it wrong to want both! We have made a can't of a golden opportunity to progress to the lattter stages of a major European competition! The league has f**k all to do with it! That’s twice in knockout competition we’ve played away first and got a good result then came back to paradise and got pumped! Against 2 average at best teams, losing 7 goals in the process! It was like watchn a re run of the cluj game honestly! It’s nowhere near good enough and fans have every right to ask question! We all want 9 and 10 in a row but let’s or pretend that games like last nite are somehow a free hit!

8.) 28 Feb 2020 22:47:34
The great Celtic teams managed both under big Jock and MON and thet never had the size of squad we have today.
Our biggest handicap is sacrificing quality for quantity as very few of todays players were a patch on the sides of Lisbon, San Siro and Seville and we have developed a 'small club mentality' drummed into us by the fear of what happened to Oldco and it will not change with the current Board and emphasis on profit and business above greatness.

9.) 29 Feb 2020 00:11:36
I would trade being 5 points behind Sevco to still be in Europe. Europe is where progress growth and success is measured, not in the central belt of Scotland.
Would you rate Copenhagen any more if they had won the danish league 10 times in a row? .

10.) 29 Feb 2020 03:23:18
If rather have both. It was a terrible result at home against an average team.

11.) 29 Feb 2020 07:54:33
Same here, with th e squad we have we should be wanting to do well in both domestic and Europe, by doing well in Europe will attract better players. But lawell and board, possibly lennon aswell, seem happy plodding along in spl. You should always strive to win everything you enter and be the best, we certainly weren't at best on Thursday night.

12.) 28 Feb 2020 22:11:05
You are probably correct Ed. It is shocking but I’ve never been able to motivate myself for something we are not going to win. There has only been a few occasions I’ve took the 3 game package. It’s all been about winning and dominating Scottish football for me. If the board in the January window would have given me hope that something special was achievable then perhaps my views and opinions would be different. To be fair I still wouldn’t change the memories from the Seville run although it handed them the treble.

13.) 29 Feb 2020 10:21:30
Like all of us on here I’m gutted / annoyed about the result and performance from us the other night. However where people say we could have had a special euro run this year I’m not so sure. We just aren’t consistent enough when we step up to European level, there is always a chance of a “Cluj or Copenhagen “ type game within us. I know we beat Lazio this season but it was back to the wall stuff for us in both games at times and we got a last minute goal in each game. It’s always heart in the mouth stuff for us in Europe, where as years ago teams used to come to Celtic and feel intimidated now they seem to relish the atmosphere and perform better than normal.
Let’s not forget that Copenhagen are well behind mjittyaland who the Rangers beat easily in the qualifiers.
We just need to build on some of our performances this season and try and get more consistency, we can’t afford to play two decent half’s over a two leg game.
In fact I can’t remember the last game where we have played well for 90 mins .

14.) 29 Feb 2020 11:21:41
The only reason we are so far ahead in the league is because The rangers having had a run of bad results, it put a whole gloss on some pretty bad performances in the league where we have scraped wins, mainly caused by Lenny not picking his most creative midfield.

23 Feb 2020 20:40:34
Callum McGregor WOW. Absolutely outstanding today. Completely controlled the midfield in Broonys absence. He 100% needs to be the deeper lying playmaker in the mould of Xavi. This kid is one of the best I've seen at Parkhead in many years 🍀.

Ice Man

1.) 23 Feb 2020 20:49:25
he was on another level today mate.

2.) 23 Feb 2020 21:43:10
The vultures will be circling come may.

3.) 23 Feb 2020 22:13:59
BR is already asking about him.

4.) 23 Feb 2020 22:25:38
Didn't see the game today, but was the midfield more creative and fleet footed with McGregor in Browns place?

5.) 24 Feb 2020 07:55:50
Had pretty much same amount of chances we always do.

6.) 24 Feb 2020 13:23:39
Aindoh let it go your obsession can't be healthy mate.

17 Feb 2020 20:04:44
I've said all along Ajer is never a defender. I think that finish proves it 😂🍀.

Ice Man

1.) 17 Feb 2020 21:59:51
He's not a great defender as proven at there goal but maybe out at rb is his best position.

2.) 17 Feb 2020 22:35:37
Ajer is an all-rounder like George Connelly was and could play almost anywhere in the team because of his natural ability, athletisism and skill and he is still developing and learning all the time.
I we can keep the majority of this team together - who knows what they can achieve?

3.) 17 Feb 2020 23:22:41
He wasn't a defender when we signed him, he was a midfielder and even played as striker. It was Rodgers who wanted him to play at the back, I personally think he would be perfect as Brown's replacement.

4.) 18 Feb 2020 09:08:22
Jon he had also played as a defender as well. I read his former manager say they played him everywhere because they couldn't quite work out his best position.
Think fans just need to accept that he is now a CB. That is where he had played the majority of his professional football.

5.) 18 Feb 2020 10:04:10
Bitton posted missing for their goal.

6.) 18 Feb 2020 12:53:40
Ajer missed the clearance and hayes didn't do enough to stop cross.

{Ed007's Note - And LG lost his man - who scored the goal - at the back post.}

7.) 18 Feb 2020 15:29:17
Big Ajer has me confused. Maybe the whole support. My son loves him. My uncle thinks he's a dreadful player. A guy I used to play football with when I was younger and went on to play with Caley (as a defender) was also saying to me that he doesn't like him as a defender. (He goes to ground way to often for my liking Markie) . Could it be that he would be better as a defensive midfield player? I would be interested in your opinion on that Ed? Mind you the poor guy would probably chuck it if he was put in another position again! 🤣.

{Ed007's Note - Ajer's still young and learning his trade -he's also a better player than VVD was at 21/22. Some people get infatuated with trying to move players around but Ajer was earmarked as a future CB long before he came to Celtic.}

8.) 19 Feb 2020 06:23:06
Was he? I didn't know that, I remember reading he was a striker in his early days and moved to center mid. Your probably right though It just takes a wee dip in form and we either want to change people's positions or sell them! 🤣. Hopefully the big guy will keep progressing at the rate he has done so far.

14 Feb 2020 13:28:37
For Sunday I would change the formation to 4-3-3

Forster (GK)

Ajer (RB)
Jullien (CH)
Jozo (CH)
Taylor (LB)

Ntcham (CM)
Brown (CM)
McGregor (CM)

Elyounoussi (LW)
Eddy (CF)
Forrest (RW)

Ice Man

1.) 14 Feb 2020 13:35:56
I would go back to the original 4-2-3-1 formation but with the same players ice man.
Ajar will play right back with one eye on Copenhagen away.
We have always played well at Pittodrie with the 4-2-3-1 and I don’t see why we should risk getting caught out down the wings with the 3-5-2.
If we need to change to 2 up top then we can bring off Elyounoussi and bring on Griffiths.

2.) 14 Feb 2020 13:56:14
The great thing in our favour is the players available for selection but the way we played and the form we are in; I think NL will start with the same 11 as Wednesday and take the game to them.
If we need to switch, we have plenty of options now that most of the squad is fit and itching to be a part of this great run.

3.) 14 Feb 2020 15:09:16
Why change the shape when we are winning games comfortably? Ajer is not a RB for me especially against decent opposition.

4.) 14 Feb 2020 15:13:08
Not sure about switching it up think Eddie and Griff are starting to build a good partnership/ understanding and would like to keep it going also think the 2 of them are bringing the best out in ntcham we can always change it during the match if need be but would start off with the 3-5-2.

5.) 14 Feb 2020 15:13:35
Change it? Why would we change it? We are skelping teams all over the park, scoring a barrel load and hardly losing a goal!
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

6.) 14 Feb 2020 15:54:30
Exactly what I was going to say kev, changing a formation that works is daft. Stick to our guns and we'll put a few past them. 4-1.

7.) 14 Feb 2020 16:05:11
I'm with Kev, we are on fire. Changing anything would be madness.

8.) 14 Feb 2020 16:19:04
No point in changing it, in actual fact it puts them in a position to change their game to try and nullify us.
Their defence looked slow the other night, let’s get at them I say . I don’t think it will be an easy game by any means but we should be confident in getting the points .

9.) 14 Feb 2020 16:43:59
The manager has hinted about changing it away from home in Europe. Sunday would be an ideal chance to play the team he has in mind for Thursday. It wouldn’t be fair on Ajar to throw him in at right back for the first time in months in Copenhagen. Why change the formation that has been successful against Aberdeen. They have not laid a glove on us for years and I don’t feel comfortable letting them come on to us at home with 3 at the back. Why risk it when we have a formation Aberdeen can’t deal with in the 4-2-3-1.

10.) 14 Feb 2020 16:55:19
Playing away from home in Europe is a totally different prospect to playing Aberdeen away. We need to win every league game. We do that by going at their throat like we have been doing since the break.

11.) 14 Feb 2020 17:18:23
why on earth would we change it? we're on the best run of form we've been on in years!

12.) 14 Feb 2020 18:46:03
Is Bauer not in the Europa squad for the last 32 or injured or something? Would rather play him at RB over Ajer thought he had a decent game against Hearts.

13.) 14 Feb 2020 19:18:19
Ice man we never play a 433 so why would you change it? 352 all day and of we have to shut up shop it's 4231👍.

14.) 14 Feb 2020 19:57:58
I agree with the others. Many have spared Lenny in the past for his tactics failing and yet when we smash teams using a new formation people want to change it, madness. Buzz, if Aberdeen can't handle us playing a 4231 then what chance have they got with the 352 considering we're playing much better football.

15.) 14 Feb 2020 20:14:40
You’ve made a good point Robdoc and hopefully your correct. 👍.

16.) 15 Feb 2020 10:00:23
4-3-3 is a ridiculous suggestion, how would we win midfield battles?

17.) 15 Feb 2020 12:10:23
Is that a genuine question Philtim. 3 central midfielders with two wide men who can drop back when defending. Do you not know how football works?

18.) 15 Feb 2020 14:39:06
Ice Man what a silly response. Look what's happening to sevco just now, any team that floods midfield they are done. Yeah 4-3-3 really works.

19.) 15 Feb 2020 15:46:02
And look what they did to us the last two times we’ve played against them with that formation philtim. You asked how would we win midfield battles. 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 are very similar formations. All it is, is the number 10 position dropping deeper into the midfield.

10 Feb 2020 23:56:49
So if we could only sign one of our Southampton loanees permanently. Who would you pick.

Forster or Elyounoussi?

Ice Man

1.) 11 Feb 2020 04:53:01
Forster for me ice man!

2.) 11 Feb 2020 06:55:34

3.) 11 Feb 2020 07:31:26
Forster for me.

4.) 11 Feb 2020 08:37:24
Big Fraser all day long.

5.) 11 Feb 2020 08:54:24
It's a real hard one to answer iceman but I would take Forster as he solidifies the team. I Loved him the first time he was here and his showings in the European games have been immense. whos your pick?

6.) 11 Feb 2020 09:28:39
Elyounoussi Forster is a good shot stopper but for a big guy he doesn't command his area well imo although if he did we would have no chance of keeping him.

7.) 11 Feb 2020 09:39:11
I posted yesterday about my concerns if we had to go back to Bain as Forster has shown (especially in big games) that he is a class act.
Ellyounnoussi is a class act as well, but we still managed to play very well and score plenty of goals while he was out.
If we pushed the boat-out and got both and signed a centre-half, in the summer, I would be absolutely delighted.
However, there's always the chance The Board would sell a top player to subsidize such a project?

8.) 11 Feb 2020 09:52:05
I’m going Forster. A top class keeper in my mind. No doubt Elyounoussi is a class act but I feel we could cover that position easier. Realistically I don’t think we can buy them both due to the transfer fees involved.

9.) 11 Feb 2020 13:43:48
Elyounoussi for me on his game he’s a class act and think it’s easier to buy a half decent keeper who while not quite Forster would be good enough if we can score more than the opposing team and Elouyassi can play a part in achieving that. Would love to sign Forster too but don’t think he’s the best I’ve seen at Celtic Park I think Boruc was better at his peak. What a back 5.Boruc, McGrain, Elliot, Van Dyke and KT are the best I’ve seen.

{Ed007's Note - I'd have Tam Boyd in there before KT.}

10.) 11 Feb 2020 14:07:56
Elyounoussi all day long.

11.) 11 Feb 2020 14:43:50
Selection based purely on ability Ed but KT nowhere near played long enough for us to be remembered with the Tam Boyd’s or Jackie McNamara’s of the past.

{Ed007's Note - Nah not for me mate. I like my defenders to defenders to defend first and Boyd was a better defender than KT was - maybe not in the future as hopefully KT goes on to prove himself and realise his full potential but for his time at Celtic I'd go for Boyd.}

12.) 11 Feb 2020 14:47:28
Boruc took advantage of the Celtic support and ended up totally out of shape. No other Celtic keeper would have escaped criticism for making as many howlers as Boruc did. Forster is the best keeper by a long way I have seen playing for Celtic because I wasn’t a big Bonner fan either. Jackie McNamara is the best right back I have witnessed playing for Celtic because when I watched Danny McGrain in the 80s he was past his best.

13.) 11 Feb 2020 17:11:10
Elliot was amazing best defender I have seen and that's me going back to the time of the Lisbon lions just.

14.) 11 Feb 2020 19:22:31
Agree tony2bhoy - Elliot was a great asset - how much would he be worth now?
I would take Forster out of those two as Moi has more cover in his position of a certain quality at the moment.

15.) 11 Feb 2020 22:03:52
I'd like us to try to get Elyannousi in as he's relatively young and I can't see us finding a winger with that ability and hunger easily. I'd go in for Forster too--but would be happy with another year's loan tbh, and that might be a good compromise for all concerned. We used to have some of the best goalie coaching and scouting in the game. Forster is the rock, but where are our prospects here? I'd also be happy to see which of them earns it in our european campaigning. HH.

It wouldn’t surprise me. I thought the last 2 or 3 deals would be experienced players on loan. Let’s wait and see when they are revealed. I might be wrong but I reckon Griff could still be away by the end of the month. Against Killie I think we’ll revert back to 4-2-3-1 with Eddy up front. I don’t think Griff will potentially accept 3rd choice (although it’s a toss up between him and Klimala)

I couldn’t give a rats ass what you think. I would like Celtic to be aiming for players with a lot higher calibre than this boy. Seen a lot of him have you. Still couldn’t back up what this boy has done to be “outstanding”. If you don’t like people disagree with a post you put up then don’t one up you muppet.

Whether we are awarded it now or if we have to see out the remaining 8 games the bottom line is Celtic are 9 in a row champions. What they say think or do I couldn’t care less. Facts are facts and we all know the truth. Zombies are banging on about how they can still catch us yet they are practically begging for the season to be declared null and void. That tell us everything we need to know.

I mean no harm to Taylor whatsoever but he is nowhere near the level required to be a Celtic player. He looks a nervous wreck when he receives the ball. Yesterday he was up against Sevco reject Lee Hodson and didn’t manage to get by him once in 90 minutes. We lost a top class left back last summer in Tierney and replaced him we 2 poor/ average ones.
