Alfie Doughty looks like he'll be joining Stoke this window. Yet another transfer we're losing out on. He maybe decided on Stoke as they seemed more keen in signing him by offering him a deal in January instead of a pre contract.

1.) 11 Jan 2021 11:55:44
Yeah and also looking at our club, who in right mind would come here now. Its been happening for a while, why do all good things just up and go, only looking now, you realise that's probably why rodgers left, fed up of lawell the clown acting the big man. Utter shambles.

08 Dec 2020 23:14:41
Reports saying Celtic could listen to offers for Elhamed as his family have all gone back to Isreal and he's here alone. You heard anything Ed?

{Ed007's Note - I didn't think Elhamed's family moved over here and there's always a chance of a player not settling when that happens. Add in his injuries and poor form then it's probably for the best he moves on.}

1.) 09 Dec 2020 16:21:04
Shame as he had a couple of solid performances at the start before the Fenerbace mistake. Ah well; maybe another one bites the dust?
We could well have a brand new team in 2021?

2.) 09 Dec 2020 17:54:02
Hopefully we get the RB issue sorted this time and don't look for a loan.

3.) 10 Dec 2020 16:42:57
Any players we get in January should be loans. This will allow any new manager to completely rebuild the squad in the summer.
The players who want to leave will be gone as hopefully will be the board and PL.
We can start from scratch and begin to rebuild the team into a 10 in a row side.

12 Oct 2020 19:05:26
It's been confirmed Elhameds test has came back positive so he'll have to isolate in Israel. Some run of bad luck for us in the lead up to this person game.

1.) 12 Oct 2020 20:33:34
And the many other games beyond that

Hope he recovers and that there are no adverse lasting impacts.

2.) 12 Oct 2020 21:22:49
Yeah Speedy recovery too both of them. Question if a player gets hurt during international duty the club I am sure gets compensation from the relevant football association? Does that include C.V. also?

3.) 12 Oct 2020 22:50:02
The Milan game is the bigger concern Lubo. Would have liked a full strength team to get off to a good start in that group.

4.) 12 Oct 2020 23:12:06
Dont know, I think the compensation links in to insurances

Not sure about C.V. premiums would be mega.

5.) 13 Oct 2020 02:46:18
I would like to think so as its the national team that put them at risk.

6.) 13 Oct 2020 05:17:52
Bravetart how is the ac game the bigger concern the rangers game has a lot more at stake than a Europa game specially this year Europe is a total irrelevance to me .

7.) 13 Oct 2020 07:35:50
D&P I totally agree. We're going to be lucky to finish 3rd in the group and to me winning the 10 is the most important thing this season. You can see how much it means to the other mob by how they are throwing every penny they can gather at trying to stop us winning 10 it even if it throws them into debt they might not be able to recover from. The Rangers 3rd coming up lol.

8.) 13 Oct 2020 08:01:29
Can’t agree that a game in the EL is bigger than Saturdays game! I would 100 % take a fully fit squad for Saturday over any EL game!

9.) 13 Oct 2020 11:43:58
If players are getting CV playing in internations, should they be playing in Europa league games?

10.) 13 Oct 2020 12:52:09
Players aren't getting C.V. playing in internationals. Given the incubation period is up to two weeks, the players likely contracted the virus 7-14 days prior to testing positive. Given our last game was 04/ 10, its a fair assessment that any of our players who have tested positive between then and the 18th of October caught it in Glasgow.

Any player that catches it on international duty is likely to test positive AFTER they have returned to their clubs.

It would be interesting to know if any St J or Sarajevo players have tested positive. Or indeed any of the Scotland team who were in contact with Elhamed.

11.) 13 Oct 2020 12:58:58
It's only the first derby of the season. It's all just merely bragging rights for me this early in the season. Once Europe sorts itself out we always come back and blow everyone else away. It's not that I don't want us to go out and pump them Saturday as it would be a good psychological blow to them if we are top with a game in hand, but if we don't then it's way too early to be panty wetting.

12.) 13 Oct 2020 13:03:44
And Europa is of some concern as financially it's income we could do with as we are losing millions not having fans in the stadium.

13.) 13 Oct 2020 15:33:22
The game at the weekend is more important than any Euro game what if the season gets suspended like last season and the rangers are top at that point the powers that be would not hesitate in awarding them the title.

{Ed007's Note - Even though "the powers that be" (the SPFL board) lost the vote to give them the power to do that?}

14.) 13 Oct 2020 18:38:05
The team we will put out should still be good enough to compete against Sevco as we always boast about having the best squad but probably not so much with Milan that's the point I was trying to make. Whether people think it's important or not as a fan I hate the maulings we get in Europe. Would be a nice scalp to take even if they aren't as good as they once was.

15.) 13 Oct 2020 18:38:54
Agree though Big D they'll all be screaming for an early finish this season if they're slightly ahead in the league lol.

16.) 13 Oct 2020 20:03:04
Mark 76, internationals is higher risk than European club games

Well if the Celtic bubble flew to milan ( 1 flight ) and played AC who have their own bubble, the risk between that and domestic is 1 flight, and of course the return flight creates issues too

In an international, around 60 players have to fly from all over the world to the pre match camp and then fly to the venue for the match . that's dozens of flights and higher risk

On that basis, internationals are higher risk as the uncontrollables are plentiful.

17.) 13 Oct 2020 21:53:32
You've also got to ask yourself if the airlines are sanitizing their planes well enough to prevent the possibility of the virus lurking anywhere within the plane. You're on a flight between an hour and 10 (? ) so there's a very real danger it could be there, especially as the airline industry is being financially savaged and cost cuts right left and central.

18.) 14 Oct 2020 15:11:13
You don’t want to hammer them bravetart lol every time we play them I want them embarrassed and bossed off the park .

19.) 15 Oct 2020 13:11:05
Where did I say I don't want to hammer them? I've already explained the point I tried to make and you're misreading what I've said clearly.

05 Jul 2020 11:50:32
Celtic being linked with an interest in Rapids 22 year old Dejan Ljubicic. Plays CDM but also been used as a CB too.

30 May 2020 22:24:08
Looks like Jonny Hayes has confirmed on his instagram that he's away.

1.) 31 May 2020 17:30:12
Honest player not good enough IMO. Will be remembered for his goal at Greyskull. I will remember him for jumping the Advertising board at Hamilton with the game at 1 each. Good luck to him.

Was going to say Duffy, Welsh, Laxalt and Hazard were all solid tonight then Laxalts daft free kick, Hazards flap and Duffys meek clearance cost us 3 points 🙄 Great goal from Turnbull but have to admit defeat now if the league wasn't lost already it definitely is now.

1.) 11 Jan 2021 21:48:07
Unable to defend set pieces.

2.) 11 Jan 2021 21:50:07
Was never confident of seeing this out. Soro and Turnbull miles ahead of rest. Big Tam is 100% done. Time for clear out, starting from the top. Hazard is just a boy and has no protection and should not be playing at this stage of his career, feel for him.

{Ed007's Note - David de Gea made his Man Utd debut 10 years ago this year when he was 20, Hazard is 23 in 2 months time - older than Forster when we signed him and a year (maybe 18 months?) older than Boruc when we signed them on loan.}

3.) 11 Jan 2021 22:03:58
Hazzard not a safe pair of hands at any age.

By God there is a serious clearout needed at CP and I'd start now, in this window.

4.) 11 Jan 2021 22:04:04
Let’s call it like it is, i mean no harm to the boy but hazard isn’t good enough end of.

{Ed007's Note - I might be wrong about Boruc I was in the middle of fighting with a dog about a spider on the wall when I looked their ages up but it's the same age group.}

5.) 11 Jan 2021 22:05:27
Laxalt in particular conceding these free-kicks has cost us goals from that very same position in far too many games.
We had defended about nine corners successfully up until then and as you say the defending had been pretty solid; but there you go.
I said in the first half we would need a set-piece to score and it would have been a great winner - considering all the goings-on.
The damage was done long before tonight and I only wish those responsible would vacate the premises and let us start afresh or else we will have a serious deja vu in the summer and beyond.
When your world has virtually collapsed round about you with rigid restrictions, extended periods of absent close family members and nothing but lectures on a loop, media inflamed fear and worry; it was always nice to have Celtic as a welcome uplifting distraction, until this season went from bad to worse, to total implosion.
Tony Mowbray, Ronny Deila and even John Barnes have all been sacked for much less than this fiasco. Peter Lawell and your choice of management team need to do the decent thing NOW.

6.) 12 Jan 2021 00:56:20
It's not the fact we are terrible at defending set pieces it's the sheer amount we have to defend that's the problem. We concede way too many dangerous free kicks or needless corners by scuffed clearances it's only a matter of time before they get one right. Lennon would never be sacked because he's Lawwells puppet and he "helped us in time of need" so they're either staying loyal to him for that or too ashamed to admit they got it wrong by offering him the job on the sly in the showers after we fluked the cup final.

02 Jan 2021 15:12:39
You can't beat luck I guess. Dominated them until the red. Aside from the yellow Morelos should've had 1st half (and what should've been sending off 2nd half) Madden had a good game. A decent performance with no reward the league still isn't lost we just have to win both the remaining derbies and probably all our remaining games.

1.) 02 Jan 2021 16:00:16
Fatso could have walked for that far worse than Duffy.

2.) 02 Jan 2021 21:15:08
Condemning Soro saying it could've been a red but Morelos' is only a yellow and Davis who did a much worse challenge than Soro but Davis' is only a yellow according to McCoist even defending him saying it wasn't intentional to catch him he just tried to trip him.

30 Dec 2020 16:59:44
A good performance is what was needed today before the big one at the weekend. Only criticism was the finishing as we could've had another 4. 3 good goals from open play and what a ball from Griff for the 3rd. Barkas looked composed with the little he had to do. Hats off to Collum for not awarding the penalty as it would've been soft but we should've had one ourselves and I don't think he could get in the way of our attacks anymore if he tried. He had Christie in his back pocket all game.

1.) 30 Dec 2020 18:36:30
I thought it was only me that thought he got in the way alot, seemed to run across players.

2.) 31 Dec 2020 03:31:37
Christie likes to cut in on his left and shoot, don't think he got the opportunity once because Collum was in the way every time.

30 Dec 2020 15:54:21
Probably one of our most enjoyable halves of the season. Much like our usual selves, good tempo, quick passing and movement, 2 good goals and should be a couple of goals better off.

1.) 30 Dec 2020 16:08:36
Does not look good for Julian. Really bad collision with the post.

Doesn’t look like he will play on Saturday?

2.) 30 Dec 2020 16:35:29
Looks like it was the wheel on the post that's done his knee in hopefully just some bruising and he's okay for weekend.

13 Dec 2020 16:58:43
A clean sheet and important 3 points. Ajer and Frimpong had a good shift down the right, Moi and Turnbull impressive particularly the latter with his deliveries. Duffy and Jullien had a solid game too and Hazard although a quiet afternoon looked a safe pair of hands. Plenty of positives to take into next Sunday. Only downfall is it wasn't more convincing on another day could've had another 5 with the threat from set pieces and stonewall penalty denied.

Is that a 4-5-1 as both Ralston and Frimpong are starting? Would that mean Rogic is up front lol? Welsh was standout literally nothing got through him the whole game against Hibs, shame he's got dropped for someone who isn't a CB and was pish against the peepul.

Just when you think the season can't get any worse we find new ways of embarrassing ourselves.

Likely be Gallacher but perhaps Campbell too as he's out of contract in the summer. Could be cover for Ntchams place in the squad if likely he's to move on in this window.

The guy is made of chocolate and has barely played since leaving us. Not good enough for Cardiff but we wanted him. That's our problem.

How long until he's fit as he's barely kicked a ball since he was last up here.

With such a rebuild required I'd rather we went for Ralf and give him full control of everything.

I said the other day to play Johnston up front and not even play Rogic. We should've got rid of him when we had the chance.

The hunplosion if that ever happened 😂 Would be a small token for all the EBT titles that they got to keep. Come on Doncaster sporting integrity is priority, Null and void the season.

Because Gerrard moaned about Collum now he's hardly selected to officiate them. Same now with Clancy.

Agree, Rogic is trash and offers nothing, He used to flatter to deceive now he doesn't even flatter. I'd rather we started Henderson over him. Maybe start Robertson in alongside Soro, McGregor and play Turnbull and Henderson as 2 CAM in behind Johnston.
