A West Brom website reporting they're likely losing Harper to us. Not seen much of the boy but seems like it will be great piece of business for just a development fee.

1.) 03 Jun 2019 12:06:31
Not seen him my self but he is highly rated.

2.) 03 Jun 2019 12:46:02
Mate in work is a West Brom fan. Says the boy is raw but has bags of potential. He's raging they could lose him for pennies.

27 May 2019 00:32:51
So Lawwell has come out and said there's no major rebuild needed for next season and people are over exaggerating it. Is he having a laugh!? Biscuit tin is back to stay now he has his puppet at the helm.

1.) 27 May 2019 01:40:46
Depends what your definition is of a rebuild. The squad needs trimmed down and the addition of a couple of players in defence. It's not as if we need 10 new players is it?

2.) 27 May 2019 07:16:53
Where did he say that? All I seen was that he said we have a strong core of players but Lennon will be backed best they can to strengthen that.

3.) 27 May 2019 08:38:07
To be fair his full quote was that he knew there needed to be improvement and said we won't stand still. Actions will speak louder than any words here, a lot of people feel let down at the moment.

Like BigBubs said - I expect more outs than ins this summer.

A lot of wages will be saved this summer with the dozen or so players who will go. If Lennon can halt the traffic to the physio room then there only really needs to be 3 quality signings in my book. But - they must be quality and ready to start in the first team.

4.) 27 May 2019 08:58:48
We need now what we needed two years ago. So more treading water and butt****ed in Europe. So how many people wouldn’t renew ST if they knew then what they know now. Unless Lennon is true to his word and plays hardball.

5.) 27 May 2019 09:16:13
No we need about 7.

6.) 27 May 2019 10:54:37
To be honest as long as they can offload the ones we don't need and keep the core of first team this will free up money from wasted wages like commper to all funds for the transfers we need.

7.) 27 May 2019 13:33:56
We need a right back, two cb's, as Jozo is prone to injury and Jack Hendry is . add your own words, a good midfielder as Broonie won't last forever and a number 9.5 players, and that's the minimum. Ewan Henderson and one or two others in the youths, maybe Dembele and Okoflex may step up next season. so yes a rebuild is needed, but is that massive?

8.) 27 May 2019 15:34:28
If people think that PL will give Lennon any kind of money for decent players then they are aff there nut.
Lennon was the cheap option and if you thought last summer was bad then wait to see this one.

9.) 27 May 2019 16:20:38
The squad does need a big overhaul, we will lose up to 7 or 8 players from our first team squad including three quarters of our defence (if Lustig goes) and back up defenders and with the four loanees almost all of our attacking options .

10.) 27 May 2019 21:03:07
Even if it is the biscuit tin mentality we could easily bring in £10m for Ntcham and a few fringe players.
Spend another £5m and £15m is tidy some for 3 x £5m standard players. Get to Champions league group and buy another 2 of same value or 1 top drawer of wages aren’t too pricey.

11.) 27 May 2019 21:54:12
We could lose 10 or 12. Not convinced Lustig is no1 choice RB if he signs a new deal then we need another and loan out Ralston then. Sp 6-7 players in is required to strengthen the squad or I'm afraid its curtains for 10 in a row.

12.) 27 May 2019 22:03:54
It is far harder to get rid of players that we don't want , than to get new players in . Hopefully we do manage to get rid of some in addition to the out of contract players . Numbers involved in signing players doesn't excite me . I prefer quality, last season if we had signed a half decent midfield player Ryan Christie may never have made the break through as he came on against Hearts to replace an injured player and didn't look back until his mate from Aberdeen ended his season prematurely . We have at least 4/ 5 youngsters that probably could really help us next season.

13.) 28 May 2019 18:51:28
Defo out:
Oliver Burke

Benkovic. might re-sign
The other Ivorian kid who plays midfield and is injured, name totally escapes me

That's a lot of players, some don't need replaced . many do.
That's a rebuild by any stretch of the imagination.

08 May 2019 13:24:26
See Leicester and Southampton are being linked with Rogic. £15m being quoted as his price tag.

1.) 08 May 2019 13:55:41
If it was true I'd carry him there. getting into a car could damage him.

2.) 08 May 2019 17:40:16
Lol wrap in up in bubble wrap just in case he gets damaged anymore.

3.) 08 May 2019 18:13:26
The problem is you couldn't carry him for more than 60 minutes, he gets tired easy.

4.) 08 May 2019 18:30:04
For the high end £32million i just read, which is crazy money, you'd make it happen.

5.) 11 May 2019 11:26:05
What is it with Southampton buying our players? Wanyama, Forster, VVD, Armstrong and now maybe Rogic? Feeder club or what ha ha ha.

28 Apr 2019 00:16:22
So after Lennon confirming they was scouting in Paris and it's a striker that's a priority the player in question is apparently Silas Wamangituka. Don't know much about the guy but apparently he's in the same mould as Dembele.

1.) 28 Apr 2019 08:44:26
The fact its Lennon who went says to me lennon will be the manager next season.

2.) 28 Apr 2019 09:03:47
Lennon said in his interview after the game it was not Wamangituka he was watching.

3.) 28 Apr 2019 10:15:58
IceMan, hopefully Lenny was watching one of the managers in the hope that he can apply for their job in the summer lol HH.

4.) 28 Apr 2019 12:19:53
It wasnt the striker.

5.) 28 Apr 2019 13:11:24
Maybe it was the young Valenciennes CB niakate?

6.) 28 Apr 2019 14:49:53
Maybe he went to wagamamas for something to eat.

30 Dec 2018 10:46:33
Celtic apparently bid £1.75m for Ivory Coast striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo. Not a great deal of first team experience. Hopefully he isn't another Amido Balde.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 11:00:34
That’s got to be a lot of rubbish it’s like they will just write any old rubbish to get a paper sold these days.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 11:18:59
Can't see it really surely with Dembele money we'll set our standards a bit higher than this guy.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 11:33:16
Hasn't played for man city or psg reserves so I doubt it.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 12:20:00
Hi EDs is there anything on the story that Celtic are about to table a bid for the Ivory Coast striker?

{Ed007's Note - It looks like someone's seen his name somewhere and because of the Kolo Toure link they've decided to link Celtic with him.
Galatasary have already agreed a 3.5 million fee for Vakoun Issouf Bayo and held talks with the player and his representatives so a bid of £1.75 million isn't going to throw that move off track.}

5.) 30 Dec 2018 14:55:05
What makes you think he'd be another Balde? Very negative attitude IMO. We as fans need to chill out with the knee jerk reactions to player links. We get linked with well known players and then when it turns out to be made up the fans moan that we didn't get them and then when we're linked with cheap unknowns the fans complain that they're no good etc. Ed more often than not gives us top info so we should try and avoid swallowing all the paper talk.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 18:38:28
Kevbhoy i agree everybody deserves a chance. Would take a punt on Lacina Traore on a free as well, although i think there is some reason why he isn't playing regarding his identity or something.

7.) 31 Dec 2018 11:39:33
I said I hope he isn't didn't say he was. Just he's got little experience and an unknown and having his first prolific season. Balde was signed on the back on an okay season with little experience and turned out to be rubbish. Could be another Dembele too as he had little experience but it's always a gamble we've failed on many times before in terms of strikers. We've got Edouard who is raw, Weah on his way who is raw we need someone with a bit of experience at holding the ball up not another wean.

Any chance of a poll on who people would rather see in charge next season. Lennon or Moyes. (Or Deila)

{Ed033's Note -

Celtic Manager Poll

1.) 23 May 2019 22:46:06
Thanks Ed. Just interesting to see people's opinions on where we was, where we are now and where we could be next what their preference would be now.

2.) 23 May 2019 22:53:49
Rather Lennon than Moyes.

3.) 24 May 2019 00:21:39
Obviously JFP’s post has fallen on deaf ears.

4.) 24 May 2019 05:51:44
Where we was? What the feck does that mean? lol HH.

18 May 2019 18:49:29
Thought our British record was about to go. Watford have shat it and lucky it hasn't been 8 or 9 really.

1.) 18 May 2019 20:30:15
Which one?

2.) 18 May 2019 22:13:43
Highest score in a domestic British cup final.

31 Mar 2019 10:48:01
Since Lenny has took over we've been quite passive in our play. He hasn't wanted to rock the boat and tried to keep things how they was but really hope he's going to implement his tactics on this game today and fire the team up and bring back the thunder. I'm going with 2-0 and Sinky first goal.

29 Mar 2019 20:35:12
Big call on Sunday is who plays at 10? Ntcham and Rogic both in the squad. Will either of them be up to speed? Can still play Weah there but can see Ntcham probably getting the nod as he'll give us a bit of physicality in the middle when tracking back. What's people's ideal starting 11?

1.) 29 Mar 2019 21:07:31
Ad play weah at 10 the boy is quality and quick bafgling lenny hasn't used him more.

2.) 29 Mar 2019 21:43:47
Forrest was my first pick but I don't think he will make it.
I also think it is too early to start Rogic, although he might get last 20 minutes if we need him.
Which leaves 2 options. First option is Ntcham has been doing double training sessions to get up to speed. Ntcham in with Brown and move McGregor up to number 10.It is not an option I would go with because Ntcham sits too deep, which we don't need with Brown there. Option 2 We go with a 4-1-4-1 formation.
Brown in the holding role and McGregor up supporting Weah in the number 10.
Weah played a couple of games last week, so I am not worried about match fitness, all Lenny needs to do is unleash him.

3.) 29 Mar 2019 21:53:34
I’d be surprised if Ntcham or Rogic we’re to start. Both haven’t played any football this year. I’d go with Weah or forest if he’s fit.

4.) 30 Mar 2019 10:15:45
Never seen Ntcham in the 10. Would love to see that. Our best player there is Christie, maybe, tho I think Lenny fancies Forrest in there.

12 Mar 2019 21:21:22
Connor Hazard just saved a penalty from Hearts. More penalties saved than I can remember Gordon ever saving for us. In other news. mon the sheep 😂🐑.

The Sunderland fans was pissing themselves too about Congerton so it looks like we are being consistent in our choice of HOR.

Although he's had a great first season and has great potential, if we are being used to get him more money for another club down south rip up the offer and move on. Agree with Marco there are much better players out there for that money. Disagree though about the Harper/ Turnbull debate as we never replaced Armstrong with a goalscoring box to box midfielder. So if we pull the plug on Turnbull hopefully we go for another like for like player as you can't have enough goalscorers in your team.

Hopefully we can get this CB over the line before preseason. A lot of outlay without selling anyone but Connell and Harper could be imminent and the sale of Ntcham and Mulumbu could cover that? Hopefully money used to get Benkovic on loan again and 2 x RB and a back up LB. Can see Tierney going though so would Perraud be a worthy enough replacement? Other than that we've a solid enough starting 11. Gordon replacement? Another striker? I just can't see us spending much more after that business. But at least the board are active and trying to get things sorted early.

Would rather we went for another Ghanain in Boakye. Got more goals in him and in the mould of Dembele too.

Would rather Bayo stayed and played with Edouard up front. Not heard much about McCarthey since he broke his leg. Has he played since?

2 RB (1 if Ralston is given a chance)
1 LB (2 if Tierney is sold)
2 CB (to replace Boyata and Benkovic, Also moving on Commper and Hendry)
1 box to box midfielder (2 if Ntcham is sold)
1 CF (2 if Edouard is sold)

Squad is a little thin with a few more deadwood needing moved on.

That's what we need is a good strong window. A few more faces moved on to fund quality ones coming in. All strikers will be available next season and hopefully we don't have same injury issues. If we can add quality 5-6 players amd keep our star players we will have had a very good window.

It's going to be a long summer Ed 🤣🤣🤣 Turnbull will score more than McGregor, Rogic, Ntcham, Bitton, Mulumbu, Kouassi, Henderson or Brown playing in our team. We have missed that box to box goalscoring player as we failed to replace Armstrong. Johansen done well too when he first came and Christie has done a good job also. McGregor can do a job but he's better pulling the strings as he links up play well and speeds up the ball from defence to attack.
