Afternoon Ed / Bhoys,

I very rarely post any rumours but TWO good friends of mine told me that Spurs are more than happy for Celtic to have Wanyama but it's all about Wages. The other told me the interest in Taylor is concrete and if their is a player coming from LC it is not Benkovic it will be the RB James who they have not longed signed but happy for him to be tested at a higher level (Y)

1.) 12 Aug 2019 16:11:49
Would love Wanyama back. Can imagine him bouncing Arfield around the midfield.

2.) 12 Aug 2019 17:20:50
hope This is true he is built like the terminator, and would destroy their midfield. Ats where we struggled against them last season. we need a Player like him to boss the middle of the park for us against the more physical teams.

3.) 12 Aug 2019 18:14:09
Where we list against them last season was they had 3 in the centre to our 2 add to that Rogic was never in the game.

They had far more energy in the centre of the park.

If it were me I would play 3 in the centre of the pitch and dare I say it, it would be brown that would drop out. Although that probably won't happen it's what i would do.

My 3 in the middle would be Calmac, Ntcham and probably Bitton with what we have at our disposal just now.

4.) 12 Aug 2019 18:23:59
Brown would start ahead of bitton every day of the week v them for me.

5.) 12 Aug 2019 18:44:58
I'm not so sure duff, I would be tempted to try something different next time at the crumbledome. I reckon if we play the same way as last 2 times the result will probably be the same. They will get in our faces, they will out fight us and overrun us in the middle of the park.

6.) 12 Aug 2019 19:07:59
I pray that the wanyama one is true, we need someone like him to boss the midfield. Rumours of Meling possibly linked. If we signed those 2 I’d be content. But If Wanyama does come then it won’t be until we know our CL fate.

7.) 12 Aug 2019 19:17:36
Brown is the only one who will really put himself about he’s a warrior in the middle of the park experienced and needed specially at ibrox.

8.) 12 Aug 2019 19:31:54
I get what you are saying duff but for me he is just too slow now, he just kind of sits in front of the back 4 these days. I think we need someone a bit more mobile in there these days.

9.) 12 Aug 2019 19:56:15
If it’s pace mate bitton isn’t that fast either?

10.) 12 Aug 2019 21:01:06
Bitton should be nowhere near the midfield, he is too slow, his best position is at centre back.

11.) 13 Aug 2019 08:31:15
No way would I have Biton in there at Ibrokes.
Has to be Brown sitting with CalMac and Ntcham in CM
In a 4-1-2-3
I’d actually stick Sinclair on RW cutting inside Tav with Forrest on LW and Eddy up top to be replaced with Griff after 65-75 mins depending on how game is going and French Eddys playing.

07 Aug 2018 15:50:47
It will be either Chirivella or McGinn and it will be either Arzani or Roberts not both IMO

If we have moved our attention to Chirivella maybe we have already given up on McGinn? (Y)

1.) 07 Aug 2018 16:07:43
I'd rather have Mcginn than Chirivella tbh.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 16:12:29
Who's the other guy never heard of him pardon my ignorance.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 16:19:28
Spanish boy fae Liverpool that was out on loan is Holland last season mally.
Rosenberg had a bid of around 3.5 million accepted but he knocked them back.

4.) 07 Aug 2018 16:20:24
Join the club Mally. A diehard Tim for less than a Spanish guy who hasn’t played for two years for more money? I don’t actually believe this is a goer though. Hopefully.

5.) 07 Aug 2018 16:21:39
Kevbhoy a lot of fans said that kind of thing when we brought ntcham in.
They also demanded Griffiths play before Edouard tae.

6.) 07 Aug 2018 16:33:22
What has die hard Tim got to do with it?
Who cares what team any player supports as long as they are good players?

7.) 07 Aug 2018 16:49:09
Chirivella looks like a class act as much as I’d like Mcginn if we can get chirevella would be a good signing also was quoted as being 2.5 million with add ins surecthats what Celtic bid for Mcginn and got knocked back.

8.) 07 Aug 2018 16:50:27
Not played football for the last 2 years? So did the 35 he played in the Eredivisie in Holland last year not count magicpole?

9.) 07 Aug 2018 16:58:59
He’s a class player. Or like estimating true cost, are you unable to tell a class player either Kev? A class player who loves us is always a good thing. A diehard who isn’t good enough like Ralston, that’s different, but class Mcginn possesses.

10.) 07 Aug 2018 17:07:52
Mcginn has done nothing to be called a class act. He wouldn't even get in our starting 11 if everyone fit.
He's no where near as good as ntcham never mind almost the same value.
McGregor by far a better player.
Mcginn would be squad player at best.

11.) 07 Aug 2018 17:27:32
@Magicpole don’t take the huff with me because you were corrected after including wages in your valuation without telling anybody. I’ve seen enough of John McGinn to see that he’s more of the Armstrong replacement BR spoke about earlier in the window.

12.) 07 Aug 2018 18:14:25
I don’t take the huff Kev. You failing to recognise what duds actually cost is a worry. We will need to agree to differ on John as we will be going round in circles, a bit like Lawells signing strategy. Nowhere fast.

10 Apr 2018 19:13:46
Evening Ed, Don't post much rumours me but hearing that the Rangers game is likely to be the Fourth fixture of the five

Just wondering if anyone else hear anything or the same 👍🍀.

{Ed007's Note - I've not been online much today mate so I don't know what's being said but I'm sure the 4th fixture is a night time K.O.}

1.) 10 Apr 2018 19:28:17
I heard the rangers game is the 2nd game but what would happen if Celtic lose the 1st game they win theirs it means our game v them is still a decider! Whole thing is a shambles and Celtic just need a win on sunday and then get this league done and dusted asap.

2.) 10 Apr 2018 22:38:51
Aberdeen can still play a hand in when we win the league. Regardless of our form or Sevcos dipping they could help with us winning the title against Sevco. I'd rather finish with 5 wins. Although the performances haven't been there I always think the 90 point mark is always a good tally to achieve.

29 Jun 2017 11:51:50
Morning Ed,

Looks like Celtic updated there team squad pics for the forthcoming season already Ed

Ajer + McCart promoted to first team

Bailly + Fasan not there?

Any thoughts (Y)

{Ed007's Note - Have they been fully updated, Jamie, there's players that's left the Club still listed on the Development Squad page? Bailly has been told to find another club and as far as I know Fasan's contract hasn't been renewed.}

1.) 30 Jun 2017 18:51:02
Just looked like it had an overhaul

Shame about Fasan, think he is top drawer saved two of his three pens at Port Vale but as soon as BR spoke about a ball playing goalie he would never fit that is his weakness.

07 Apr 2017 14:54:41
It's a new four year deal for BR folks that's the big news.

1.) 07 Apr 2017 15:05:13
Is that to cover our backs when he does go?

2.) 07 Apr 2017 15:07:49
Well done celtic. what a statement! . you have made your supporters happy! .10 in a row bhoys HH.

3.) 07 Apr 2017 15:19:46
Rich T, are you one from the other side. Your negativity is bringing me down on this fine Friday. The man has signed a 4 year contract, how do you know he won't stay for 4 more years? Cheer up big man.

4.) 07 Apr 2017 15:22:52

5.) 07 Apr 2017 15:26:56
Here we go 10 in a row 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆.

6.) 07 Apr 2017 15:58:09
jamie hows the back? is it sorted yet?

7.) 07 Apr 2017 18:19:01
No jb67 getting a physio at home and talk of hydrotherapy got a medicated patch on it buddy but sore as hell getting in out the car pain is unbelievable mate 👍.

{Ed007's Note - That's what happens when you try and lift your wallet yourself.}

8.) 07 Apr 2017 19:53:18
a bit of spanish sun on it should help jamie (if you can handle the flight) jamie doesn't have a wallet.

9.) 07 Apr 2017 20:04:20
Have to look on the bright side Ed, Back could have been so much worse in that case had I lifted YOUR wallet :-p.

{Ed007's Note - Away you and chip shite at the moon! :-D

Tuesday is gone, Time to move on and think FORWARD

The business plan is not flawed BR jumped ship for a REASON the minute we NEVER qualified for CL last season everything was far too bloated to carry moving FORWARD against the backdrop of not having CL money he knew it and you are not telling me he knew the cull of thirteen players was not coming?

Be careful what we wish for here we are all hurting for sure but I would not rule out PL standing up at the AGM and saying that's all from me folks ( He is 60 and already said he won't GO PAST 60!)

The fundamental flaw is transfer fees are hideously stupid and priced well out of quality on more or less every occasion NOW every club wants to follow the Celtic formula find a rough diamond an coach him better and cash in on him. BR said Celtic are a " two year turn over" in terms of playing staff if or when was the last time we got a start that we hung onto for any length of time but simply cannot rid of the Commper's or Boerigter's or Bangura's?

It ain't going to get to get any easier! The stupid thing was when we bought NTcham about a week after posting RECORD profits, but that made me suspicious of the management of the club making it looking appealing for a potential buyer

A good friend of mine a good whilst back sent me the Barcelona accounts on their quest to be the first club to turn over a BILLION pounds. Wait for it their expenditure was something like £892 MILLION and there outgoings were £890 MILLION! They made something like £1.06 million PROFIT! Now that is SHOCKING in a business setting but it's a great way without contradicting myself to run a football club because you are TAXED on profits and as I know first hand the Spanish HATE paying taxes and you will have seen that yourself with the court cases involving Ronaldo, Mourhino and Messi

Moving forward it's mission impossible stuff really a remember TEN years ago Everton got around double digit millions for finishing EIGTH . Celtic got something like £3 million for winning the league fur fox sake.

Am annoyed and hurt like everyone else especially the LB situation especially with Kennedy there knowing how it unfolded at Ibrox and a see big Sutton alluding to that today. But make no mistake PL and NL will be hurting just like the rest of us but we need to hear a plan for the NEXT few years what is the CONNTANUITY aspect / a seamless transition if and when there is to be one. For what it is worth I agree with a poster below it will probably be two loans and either Meling or the Taylor for LB and I would bite your hand for James @ Leicster and big Victor (Y)

1.) 15 Aug 2019 14:41:00
BR was putting feelers out before we failed to qualify for CL and was set to go to China but got cold feet.

I agree with what your saying about transfers, its spiralled out of control due to TV money. Only solution i can see is SFA set up their own TV/ Streaming channel and maximise worldwide revenue from big games such as Old Firm and Cup games.

2.) 15 Aug 2019 15:15:54
Good post jamie but had a giggle at the spanish hate paying taxes. None of the people u mention are spanish lol. 😁.

3.) 15 Aug 2019 15:33:36
Maybe Raymundo, However the Spanish TAX man caught up with ALL of them Spanish or not!

14 Aug 2019 14:13:17
Only Forrest, McGregor, Christie, Ajer, Griffiths have really started the season

Johnston has been fine in a domestic setting but Bain and Brown ( sadly ) got found wanting last night and have toiled so far this season

Simo has got a pass mark

Hemed looked decent last night but jury still out

Boil and Julien not starting is strange and annoying the omission of Sinclair particularly last night on a weakened left was IDIOTOTIC in my opinion and even Hayes at LB would have been a better industrious solution to Calmac there

We should be able to go out still and get a bit of quality at FB the Norwegian lad Meling if he is entering into the last year of his contract is achievable in my opinion. But we have a LOT of players that can play on the left Guttman ( this debate about a permit get it sorted) or let him leave Hayes, Connell (just signed) and Calvin Miller am genuinely SICK of stock piling players that are NEVER going to play . We have just let THIRTEEN players go and replaced with FOUR and we are still talking about "trimming players" Get it sorted, Cut the deadwood loss asap don't talk to me about length of contracts etc. You can just TELL everyone straight and let them know who is and NOT in and out of there PLANS fur fox sake!

To play your best player out of position was MADNESS! I said to a good friend of mine at just after the KO that they were just going to attack the LB area . Why did Lennon not see it and change it right away? It was an easy spot why play the " yo-yo" of a game when you have home advantage and can control it and change it?

1.) 14 Aug 2019 14:21:51
Spot on Jamie, take a bow👏👏.

2.) 14 Aug 2019 14:45:15
If he doesn’t trust Boli or was thinking of taking him out of firing line then why play him on Saturday Hayes should be been in for some match fitness and ready for last night absolutely baffling decision. For a club like us it’s these games that managers should take the fall for domestically we will get by last night was a game for a manager to make the right decisions and he got them disastrously wrong repeatedly. There were numerous occasions for changes and he made all the wrong calls.

3.) 14 Aug 2019 14:55:28
A big flaw of Lennon's is not only naming baffling and vulneable stating line-ups, but failing to address problems and chnge things quickly enough. The McGregor 'tactic' failed from KO and he should have acted within 15 minutes or at least after they scored; but he waits to HT, wasting all that time where we could have sorted it out.
Then there's his substitutions? Why not try and control the game and close things down when we managed (brilliantly) to get in front 3-2?

4.) 14 Aug 2019 15:18:36
That's because he is clueless and should be sacked👍.

5.) 14 Aug 2019 15:20:05
It's games like last night, with the 'mismanagement', under-performers and shocking self-inflicted errors, that worries me about the likes of Ajer, JF, Cal-Mac and Christie wanting to hang around when they see their effort and heroics count for nothing.

6.) 14 Aug 2019 16:04:55
This isn’t a new thing with Lennon either, last season against 10 men from sevco he just stood pitch side staring out, changing very little. Let’s be honest they had us on the rack with 10 men until they gifted a goal to us.
In Europe he comes up against more sharper managers so will get found out easier.

13 Aug 2019 22:34:12
Idiotic playing Calum at LB, BR tried it at Ibrox and it back fired spectacularly their as well

Silly Silly selection that :- (.

1.) 13 Aug 2019 23:42:19
Jamie that was a big mistake and it cost us just as much as bain and browns mistakes. We missed him in the middle.

09 Aug 2019 13:00:39
Afternoon Ed/ Bhoys,

In relation to what NL is saying positional wise I don't get it we need a RB for sure and I would go with is it Ankersen the Dane? @ Copenhagen and that let's Hamed cover RB and CH. I don't know why we let Guttman go back on loan knowing KT was leaving he was the star of the show in pre season and looks as though he can easily adapt to SPL

A big enforcer splash the cash back for big Victor @ 28 he is just hitting his prime and can cover at CH also if needed and then a target man or something different up front and that should be us a think

This talk of FIVE I don't see certainly in the positions he is talking about. I counted TEN we let go from the summer but its actually TWELVE!

DDV, Toljan, Lustig, Benkovic, Boyata, Gamboa, Izzy, Tierney, Weah, Burke, Commper and Mulumbu . That is some "chunk of change coming off the wage bill" that has only been replaced with FOUR so far, so we are entitled to think we are due a bit of quality incoming (Y)

1.) 09 Aug 2019 13:34:23
Jamie guttman couldn't get a work permit.

Out of the 12 or so that have left how many were actually making an contribution to the 1st team?
4 of them at best?
KT Boyata Lustig and to a least extent benkovic.

The rest were either bit part players or done nothing for years.
Dead wood in other words.
Even benkovic only played 20 games and several of them were not 90 minutes.

The squad was bloated and needed triming.
12 out 8 or 9 in will be good work with youth stepping up to take the other spaces.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 13:49:25
13 Scott Allan also left.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 14:17:41
How did Guttman not get a permit when he has played for us already Kev? I don't get that?

I agree with what you are saying although Weah and Burke and Toljan did alright but were never ours

I would love to know the surplus in wages from then till now because Commper was on a big wage and most of the rest would have been on decent money

I forgot about Allen (Y)

4.) 09 Aug 2019 15:02:02
He’s now came out and said two or three dependant on players leaving . It’s a joke, we def need a left winger, two full backs and a forward. What’s changed since he said he wants most of the tierney transfer and needed five players yesterday? This stinks, after a few early moves everything has gone quiet. He said he was waiting for the English market to shut, we can’t afford anyone from the English market and rarely shop there . I fear smoke and mirrors again, my fears that Lawell could control everything with Lennie in charge are starting to come a reality to me . I’m sure early in the window Lenny said he was looking to spend a fair amount on a forward now he’s saying we might get a forward. The stories of griff pulling up the other day in shows us how fragile our front line really is . Eddy gets a knock and we are playing Mikey Johnstone there again.

5.) 09 Aug 2019 15:12:17
He played in other countries in friendlies not in Scotland.
Only time he’s played here he was a trialist and not an employee.

6.) 09 Aug 2019 15:30:19
Kev that simply cannot be mate, He is our PLAYER and EMPLOYEE without a doubt . It's us that is loaning him out.

7.) 09 Aug 2019 20:04:53
@Jamiebhoy I think the American lads both of them went back to USA as Celtic would have had problems getting work permits. I think club is working on this particularly with Guttman, maybe see him return in either January or probably in summer.

Big Victor would be welcome, but I imagine wages would be a stumbling block.
As you know I am not a fan of Lawwell, but we have to trust him to give Lennon funds to strengthen team.
My own opinion is, if we beat Cluj on Tuesday, we are then guaranteed some form of european competition til Christmas and the purse strings will be loosened.

08 Aug 2019 18:15:10
So we have got TEN off the wage bill and some of them will have been on nearer the higher end of the wage earners

We have only signed four players and sitting with a near £15 million surplus in terms of money in and out

Over to you NL and PL we deserve a bit of real quality back in please 👍🍀🍀.

1.) 08 Aug 2019 18:38:57
Jamie just a few years ago Lennon sold McGeady for 9m and built a team on it and signed a few daimonds.
I sure he can do it again with 25m.

Fergus McCann proved heee haw Kev! He walked in the door with a FIVE YEAR PLAN! That ain't someone who is Celtic minded that is someone with a PLAN. He built the stadium with YOUR/ OUR/ MINE money, Went through more managers that he never fully backed in the history of a FIVE year period.

Treated Tommy Burns ABYSMALLY! and then walking out the door as I pointed out to Stephen who asked about the share price DILUTED it to institutional investors so he could walk out the door right on cue of his five year PLAN!

Speculate to accumulate he could easily Easily pushed the boat out a bit further EASILY

Anybody who walks into ANY business with a five year plan doesn't have the business best interest at heart he has a PLAN!

Dermot Desmond became the biggest held investor at that time and has been their ever since increasing his stake hold (Y)

Deary me, When we scouted Wanyama on loan at Helsingborg he played CH we thought we COULLD make him into a CDM. At roughly the same time ( a year! ) We bought Efe who was a CDM

When Wanyama debuted for Celtic he debuted as a CH not his FAVOURED CDM just because that became HIS favoured position = and means he started out as a CH!

Then Efe who also could play wing back for his country had to be developed into a CH and in all reality was NEVER a CH! (Y)

Deary me, This early really? So PL struggled to find a replacement for BR who we going to replace PL with a man that has been at the helm since M'ON time?

Be careful what you wish for, You could get a Fergus McCann who say what you want about him and wax lyrical all you want . but the man HATED spending money!

Hard to argue with that Gerry, a LB and a RB and I think we need to have a look at the CDM, But Ajer is turning into a top top player who is comfortable in the tackle and clearly carrying the ball forward. That was his initial natural position and I for one would like to see him get a wee chance there . If we got another RB in Hemed can cover both RB and CH in the same way Lustig could

Them that take the training must see that in Ajer surely? They converted Wanyama from a CH to a CDM (Y)
