Just read that Gary parker won't be our new assistant and john Kennedy is likely to remain in the role.

Reading between the lines, this would suggest that the board liked the methods introduced by Rodgers and want to keep the continuity vie john Kennedy.

I must say this has alleviated some of my concerns over lennon.

1.) 31 May 2019 12:08:36
The board are never going to let things like the sports science department and other areas developed under rodgers to go backwards. I don't think Lennon will have much say over that. He will do coaching, pick teams and between him and scouts will identify players. We will either get a dof or lawwell will take the cheap option and do that him self.

2.) 31 May 2019 14:46:22
I hope you are correct Cory but they have let the club go backwards with the appointment of Lenny so there's a chance they will let the club go backwards in other areas also Sorry still angry with the boards decision about the appointment of the manager pure laziness IMO.

3.) 31 May 2019 15:46:53
Surely giving players days off to go drinking would go against the sports science?
Who would set training routine or intensity Lennon or Sports science? We might have a sports science department but it comes down to the manager if he uses it.

This is not a criticism of any of the GKs at Celtic. However, I do hope we go in for big Forster in January and get him back for 10 in a row.

Easilly the best GK I have seen in the Hoops, although Boruc was a close second at his peak.

C'mon Peter make it happen for us.

1.) 30 Oct 2020 05:49:36
I'd like to think he's kicking himself at turning us down to still not be playing at Southampton. I agree he'd be better than what we've got but it was his indecision that has ended up in us spending £5m on Barkas. It just wouldn't happen.

2.) 30 Oct 2020 07:32:13
Really can't see us dropping a £5m goalie indefinitely but we can't go on having to score three or four goals every week to win games?
It's just not between the sticks we have problems, because big Duffy is causing a goal-a-game at least as well. Sometimes players can play through bad spells and sort themselves out; but if the mistakes and conceding so many goals continue, we will have decisions to make.

3.) 30 Oct 2020 07:54:33
It wasn't Forster indecision Jim, Forster wanted permanent deal and Lawwell was offering loan to buy which I suspect Lawwell would of attempted to lowball Southampton with a lower fee at end of loan. I don't blame Forster to be honest, all he was looking for was security for next few seasons.

4.) 30 Oct 2020 08:49:00
The signs were there when we got him in and had a better look at Barkas.
It was mentioned we were wanting the Swedish Roma keeper on loan.
Why if we’ve paid £5 million for a keeper and we have Bain as a number 2.

5.) 30 Oct 2020 09:04:16
Bang on there its been obvious for the past few seasons.

6.) 30 Oct 2020 09:53:06
@philtim88, how could Lawwell have negotiated a loan to buy and then offered a lowball fee when the fee would've already been agreed at the start?

7.) 30 Oct 2020 10:34:02
Was the fee for Barkas not £2.7M plus add ons?

Gk department is weaker than last season without a doubt. 2 quality keepers left and only one replacement has come in.

Southampton weren't going to pay up Forsters contract and we wouldn't and couldn't match the £80k per week he is on. I don't really blame him not walking away from a £4M per year contract. Would you?

8.) 30 Oct 2020 11:09:30
This love in about Foster is ridiculous, how far did we go in Europe when he was here,?, we cannot match his wages, forget about him.

25 Oct 2020 11:08:21
Personally would not have ntcham anywhere near the team on recent form.

He owes the manager a big performance for giving him so many chances and today would be the perfect time to deliver.

1.) 25 Oct 2020 11:21:04
Ntcham can be frustrating to watch similar to Elyounoussi because they should be more consistent.
They are either a 4 out of 10 OR an 8 out of 10.
Fans were wanting Ntcham to play further forward in the number 10 role but it hasn’t worked out.
Having Ntcham, Elyounoussi and Rogic in the same lineup is a gamble because they sometimes lack effort to go with their ability.

2.) 25 Oct 2020 11:25:37
Happy with the managers reaction - that was probably prompted by what he saw in the second half v Milan? Agree about Ntcham, but with Broony out of the team, he has an opportunity to step-up.
Still have concerns about our leaky defense, which has been re-built yet again, but as long as we score more than them?

3.) 25 Oct 2020 11:27:51
Ntcham was a 0 last week he should be hunted at the first opportunity after the 10 if we do it.

4.) 25 Oct 2020 11:36:31
With the rest of the lads on this! How ntcham has started 2 games in a row after last Saturdays pathetic effort, god only knows! Willing the team to click into gear today, really hope they do the business! But decisions like playing ntcham consistently while he’s been absolutely pathetic baffles me! What must turnbull and soro be thinkin by the way!

5.) 25 Oct 2020 11:39:12
We need to play Moi in the no:10 role, that's where he played when he played alongside Ajeti at Basel and they both scored a lot of goals together.

{Ed007's Note - In his first season at Basel Moi played mostly on the RW (19) and on the LW (15) with the odd appearances as a CAM/SS. In his second season when Ajeti was there he mostly played on the LW (24 apps 7 goals and 9 assists) and CAM/SS (17 apps 6 goals & 8 assists) with the odd appearance on the RW.
Ajeti notched up 31 appearances that season scoring 14 goals and 5 assists.}

6.) 25 Oct 2020 11:53:03
I think Ntcham will score now 😂.

7.) 25 Oct 2020 12:09:55
Lennon needs to give Turnbull more game time and also give Soro a chance. Ntcham is woeful.

18 Oct 2020 11:50:10
All this nonsensence about lennon losing the dressing room and not having a clue what he is doing was spouted after last new years defeat.

However it turned out the players were just tired and after a well needed rest they came back and showed what they were capable off.

Big Forster aside, we are stronger in every position this season and I am confident the players will use this pain and criticism to bounce back and do the same.

2.) 18 Oct 2020 12:10:47
Don't think players can be tired in October, after two International Breaks that several players were spared, a two-week suspension imposed by the Scottish Government, were no games were played and guys like Soro, Turnbull, Rogic and Griff who actually need games?
I find it very hard to draw any parallels to last December's defeat just before the winter break and yesterday and why the form and attitude of these same players is night and day from last term?

3.) 18 Oct 2020 12:24:03
Do we really have a better first 11 than when Rodgers was at club?

Moi better than Sinclair?
Duffy, Julian better than boyata?
The new strikers better than Dembelle?
Barkas better than Gordon?
I really don’t know if we are better off.

4.) 18 Oct 2020 12:41:14
we had better players when rodgers was here, who picks who we buy is lennon part of it or does he just have to work with the guy's he gets.

5.) 18 Oct 2020 12:46:18
What is very concerning is a few seasons ago Ronny Deila questioned players fitness levels and Neil Lennon publicly slated Deila during his unveiling press conference at Bolton. Fast forward a few seasons and hey presto we have the same problems!

We have a good squad however doesn't matter if players are not going to get a look in.

6.) 18 Oct 2020 13:05:47
It is also true that a player lacking hunger and motivation and commitment, NO MATTER their CV, experience and alleged value, is rendered useless and surplus to what is required when the DESIRE evades them.

7.) 18 Oct 2020 14:25:48
@ryancelt - apart from his first season and a half sinclair was not performing and he only played 2 games forus last season.

Boyata was not at Celtic last season.

Dembele was notat Celtic last season.

Barkas is a moot point as i already stated Forster was the one player who was better.

@celtic_mad - nearly our full starting 11 were on international duty. This meant that lennon got hardly any time to work with them before the match and they were more tired than their rangers counter parts. Not to mention we lost 4 players who would have normally started.

17 Oct 2020 09:56:12
Having James Forrest and 3 centre backs out makes it hard for Celtic to play either of our normal formations.

So Lennon is faced with a hard choice. So does he pick:

A. Play one of the normal formations with all players in their natural positions but fielding an inexperiened Dembele or Welsh

B. Play ofofthe normal formations but play someone out of position as a CB or RW

C. Play a different formation with everyone in their normal position.

Personally i think he will go for B, 4-2-3-1 and play someone out of position at RW. My team would be

Frimpong ajer duffy laxalt

Brown mcgregor

? Turnbull (please not ntcham) MOI

Just listened to press conference from Lennon and he was asked a question about Charlie Nicholas.

Loved his response when he said Nicholas had been negative about our club for years and he just ignores him.

Get him, James McCarthy and James McLean in.

Oh nearly forgot, get a left back as well. KT would do ;)

I'm assuming we either want to give Forrest a rest or he is a slight injury concern and don't want to risk him before the cup final.

{Ed007's Note - Forrest didn't train on Friday so I'm assuming he's injured.}

It was Scott Arfield's birthday yesterday so may be some truth in the rumour. The Scottish government will have access to the police records and if Scott Arfield was there, then this could get very nasty for Sevco as they have not declared it.

This is not the first time this has been the case and I expect lots more of the same this season. Wish our manager and board would point it out through our solicitors.
