I don't think it will be long before the sack the board fans are back outside the stadium, calling for the heads of the other directors.

The longer they keep Lennon in charge the more irrate people are going to get and the more damage they are doing the club.

1.) 22 Feb 2021 09:22:00
Buzz it will take fans a long time to forget this season. I blame the board for putting NL in this position where he needs to choose between the club and money. I do believe his legacy has been tarnished but if 3m is the reason we won't sack him worrying times are ahead. Massive down sizing will be on the way.

2.) 22 Feb 2021 09:56:54
There is noway lennon will be getting 3m a season. He is on a 1yr rolling contract. Lennon will be on about 1-1.5mill a season in my opinion.

3.) 22 Feb 2021 13:37:57
Agree with much of what's been posted regarding NL's position, the amount owed on his contract is almost immaterial, pay him off, draw a line under it amd move on.

Personally, I think if Neil had approached the board/ PL and come to a compromise agreement, he would have walked away with a lot more respect.

4.) 22 Feb 2021 13:49:20
I wouldn't be against the idea of getting rid of Lennon now and having Kennedy see out the season until a replacement is found. He can't be any worse. He would probably resort back to having the team like it was under Rodgers.

5.) 22 Feb 2021 15:09:04
@Marco and @BigBubs - no way is Lennon on anything close to 1.5 to 3 million. Rodgers was only on 2 million.

I remember when old Rangers died and a tribute act started up in their place. At the time McCoist was on 750k and Lennon was raging as it meant McCoist was getting paid more than him, despite managing in the lower echelons of football.

Now fast forward to the present, then my guess is Lennon will be lucky if he is on 1 million a season.

6.) 22 Feb 2021 15:45:40
LAW apparently bonuses are the issue not the base salary.

7.) 23 Feb 2021 08:25:41
Well I'm sure it will cost the board more in season ticket sales, merchandise etc by keeping NL at the club, they are just making more fans angry, pay the man and get rid, he's the face of the demise, he is the one who will get the stick, the board won't they hide in the clouds counting their pots of gold, embarrassing, I honestly can't believe this is still dragging on.

31 May 2019 08:07:42
Just read that Gary parker won't be our new assistant and john Kennedy is likely to remain in the role.

Reading between the lines, this would suggest that the board liked the methods introduced by Rodgers and want to keep the continuity vie john Kennedy.

I must say this has alleviated some of my concerns over lennon.

1.) 31 May 2019 12:08:36
The board are never going to let things like the sports science department and other areas developed under rodgers to go backwards. I don't think Lennon will have much say over that. He will do coaching, pick teams and between him and scouts will identify players. We will either get a dof or lawwell will take the cheap option and do that him self.

2.) 31 May 2019 14:46:22
I hope you are correct Cory but they have let the club go backwards with the appointment of Lenny so there's a chance they will let the club go backwards in other areas also Sorry still angry with the boards decision about the appointment of the manager pure laziness IMO.

3.) 31 May 2019 15:46:53
Surely giving players days off to go drinking would go against the sports science?
Who would set training routine or intensity Lennon or Sports science? We might have a sports science department but it comes down to the manager if he uses it.

I know Lawwell has his faults but you cannot argue against the fact that he is brilliant at negotiating transfer fees and has got us top dollar for many of the players who have moved on.

Personally, I would like the club to explore the possibility of him staying on in that capacity, as it would be a blow to lose that expertise.

What does everyone else think?

{Ed007's Note -

1.) 01 Mar 2021 21:56:58
Is that an aye from you then Ed?

{Ed007's Note - It's a maybe 😁 It would still be Lawwell making the decision on who we signed if he was negotiating fees etc. We need a clean break from his era, to move on & modernise the way the Club is ran.}

2.) 01 Mar 2021 22:11:45
While we are in silly season why not bring Lennon back as janitor.

{Ed001's Note - Hong Kong Phoeey style?}

3.) 01 Mar 2021 22:30:32
Maybe he is stepping down as CEO and he will be announced as the DOF!

4.) 02 Mar 2021 07:16:51
Lawell and Lennon have already had the Hong Kong Phoeey chop. Time to find new superhero's.

5.) 02 Mar 2021 07:43:36
we have already seen what happens when you don't keep control of the purse strings.
PL was just too involved at times but he kept our finances solid and as said, was a good negotiator.
However, football has changed and its time for new strategy and ideas.
As for NL? He might not be the sharpest but the players (especially) and the Board let him down very badly this year.
Lennon will carry the can but a large mirror needs to be held up to the players so they can see who let us down for the 10
Anyway, onwards and upwards.

6.) 02 Mar 2021 09:20:53
Lennon at work, I actually think he doesn’t get value for players . I can’t think of many where we actually got a good deal for players. 25 million for tierney was a massive under sell . Even if you think of Armstrong, van dijk, both players undervalued. He has missed out on quite a few players by not spending an extra half a million / million that has gone on to make big money or at the very least would have contributed to the team massively.
His time has well passed.

25 Feb 2021 09:31:25
Thought we needed a bit of optimism today.

Whoever comes in does not have a major rebuild despite what some people may say or think.

We still have better players than Rangers and all we need to do is negate their set piece threat and we are back on top.

So first of all we need a keeper that can make saves and defenders who can defend a set piece, the rest is fine.

1.) 25 Feb 2021 09:56:25
I think we are still short of a natural winger, centre half and if we don't sign Kenny full-time, we need a similar quality RB.
Goalkeeper was a glaring weakness as most attempts against us seemed to end up in the net and I agree about our woeful defensive record. Then there's replacing Eddy, Ajer and any other quality departure?
Long term injuries to James Forrest, Jullien and the few inadequate loanees we brought in showed there is still areas that need work.

2.) 25 Feb 2021 10:03:47
I fully expect to see a massive improvement in the performance levels now that Lennon has gone. I bet we don't as big an overhaul as we thought under Lennon👍.

3.) 25 Feb 2021 10:12:11
You say we are better than rangers what about the other teams in the league. Rangers Did not cause us to lose the league it was all the other teams. That we can omly draw or lose.

4.) 25 Feb 2021 10:54:28
I think there is a major rebuild needed, from players leaving loans going back and quality additions. huge job for new guy.

5.) 25 Feb 2021 11:12:25
If everyone leaves that's expected it could be a major rebuild:

New GK/ Bain

New RB x 2
Welsh/ New CB x 3
Taylor/ New LB

Soro/ Brown
McGregor/ Turnbull

Forrest/ New RW
New LW x 2

New AM x 2

Ajeti/ New ST

There will be others floating around on the fringes but the likes of Klimala and Johnstone don't fill me with confidence. I'd expect other squad players like Rogic, Bitton etc to be away too.

Maybe get Edouard, Ajer and Christie's contracts extended for another year and it's not quite as bad but that defence needs major work.

6.) 25 Feb 2021 11:17:07
Sevco have pumped us twice this season!

7.) 25 Feb 2021 11:48:46
Team for Sat could be old school 4-2-3-1

Taylor if fit

Dembele or prob Christie

8.) 25 Feb 2021 12:21:46
Guys, we do not need a total rebuild. What we need till end of season is a major confidence build. We need to gel the players again and get all the animosity out of their heads. We are still the league champions and as such we need togetherness. Hail Hail.

9.) 25 Feb 2021 13:49:52
Players definitely leaving
Players wanting to leave
Players whos time is up
Players on last chance

Massive rebuild needed and it'll take 2 or 3 windows at least.

10.) 25 Feb 2021 21:56:11
Divcelt. you missed the tea lady. is she staying?

24 Feb 2021 19:41:53
No way did Lennon resign. I suspect he was sacked. Only the other day he was saying he was the man to rebuild in the summer.

The two likely scenarios are:

a) the board wanted to give him an amicable departure and agreed to say that he resigned.

b) Lennon negotiated with the board regarding his pay off. Part of the deal was he agreed to a non-disclosure and they agreed to say he resigned.

1.) 24 Feb 2021 20:07:13
Do the conspiracy theories matter?

2.) 24 Feb 2021 20:36:36
It's not really a conspiracy theory JFP it's just common sense. And aye it matters, you happy for the club to be less than forthcoming and then when they feed you information it's BS!?

3.) 24 Feb 2021 20:59:35
I’ve learned along the way some things don’t matter and post-mortems don’t change anything.

4.) 24 Feb 2021 21:35:19
I doesn't matter one bit. You hear this kind of thing all the time. They usually say mutual consent.

5.) 24 Feb 2021 22:20:26
Who cares? He's ofski🤗.

6.) 24 Feb 2021 22:28:39
It's normal for both parties not wanting to lose face and more importantly come out of this relatively untarnished to avoid controversy and more bad publicity than necessary.
We all move on - hopefully upwards as soon as possible and put one of the worst seasons - for so many reasons - behind us.

7.) 25 Feb 2021 08:41:41
IMO I want details of how it all went down. Closure if you like to call it that.
The board treat us like crap and they don't stand up for the club they say nothing when it becomes time for renewals they change in not falling for it any more if the fans where allowed in this would have been a different ending and all done much sooner. Maybe Lenny will Wright a book just after the date expires of his dirty money silence.
His silence speaks volumes as he usually has a lot to say may spill the beans once and for all or as usual us it the old pals act. Lenny new job beside Boyd on sky for keeping his mouth shut. Am I still pissed the way the board handled 10 in a row yep they did not give a crap about it. My eyes are open now as I am constantly defending the board as out own actions killed the 10.

24 Feb 2021 01:29:18
A lot of reports that Lennon is getting the sack with Kennedy taking over in the short term.

While I am glad Lennon is leaving, I want all of them away from the first team, so will be disappointed if Kennedy and Strachan remain.

1.) 24 Feb 2021 08:17:36
He resigned LAW and I agree with you. They say 'your as good as your last job' in which case Strachan and Kennedy (who seems to have a job for life) can beat it.
I hope whoever comes in gets shot of the two of them.

21 Feb 2021 14:14:52
What is going on. Our game today is at 19.30 and away to Ross County.

Whoever came up with that idea needs sacked.

I also notice that is us that has to do it and not them.

1.) 21 Feb 2021 14:34:36
Last month we started @ 8.15pm away to Livingston.
The conditions became unplayable and if the game had started at a reasonable time, the game would’ve been over before the snow storm caused a farce.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 16:22:41
Blame they who voted for Five years of SLY and got their 30 pieces of silver for turning their backs on BT Sport.

I would not mind Steve Clarke, although he would not be my number one choice.

One of the main advantages of getting Steve Clarke in, is it would deprive the SFA of the best Scotland manager they have had in a decade.

I honestly think some fans don't actually watch the games and they certainly don't go to any. Ask a fan who goes to the games, what it was like watching Rodgers teams after the first 1 and a bit seasons and they will tell you it was a hard watch.

Just watched the first few minutes of the match and I have seen enough. As expected Kennedy style is a carbon copy of the style Rodgers was using before he abandoned Celtic. Utter garbage, side to side and back with no penetration.

Time for new manager, this week or heaven help us.

The whole team from back to front has been eratic at best this season, with the odd exception.

Bain is normally a decent GK, probably not a number 1 though. I am sure of those 17 conceded a decent proportion will be a result of our inability to defend a set piece.

That is up there with every £5 they spend we will spend £10, floating pitches, super casinos, Motherwell born billionaires, Dallas Cowboys, half a billion fans world wide and my personal favourite, we are still the same club.

No wonder they are called the gullibillys.
