Linked with a move for Peter Ankersen, Copenhagen right back. Danish international.

1.) 20 Jun 2019 18:03:17
That would be a good calibre of signing. Danish national team are in the Top 10 right now.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 18:45:56
Only one year left on his current contract as well which is good.

3.) 20 Jun 2019 19:22:34
He is 28 Need a younger option?

4.) 20 Jun 2019 19:36:00
Peter he could have 4 or 5 good years.

5.) 20 Jun 2019 19:40:24
Peter that could be a good thing mate in his prime plenty of experience specially for Europe.

6.) 20 Jun 2019 19:41:53
We buy enough young players and projects. Need to get in some experienced players who can go straight into the first 11.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 19:48:50
A player of that age and a younger one to compete with Ralston would be good.

8.) 20 Jun 2019 19:51:15
He’s experienced. 28 years old. Played over 50 games in European competitions. Is the No1 right back for Denmark and play on both flanks. Way too god for the danish league according to a lot of there fans. He wanted a move away last summer but never got it. This is the type of player we should be after. No brainer here and would command a small fee for the quality of player.

9.) 20 Jun 2019 19:57:38
Like the sound of this. (too good to be true? )

10.) 20 Jun 2019 20:02:51
Would be great to get a guy in his prime like that. Fingers crossed it happens.

11.) 20 Jun 2019 20:52:14
peterBoy no chance do we need someone younger, there's only about 6 months between him and Forrest and look at how much Forrest has improved over the past couple of seasons. Late twenties should be a player's prime and we should be going for guys with experience any chance we get.

12.) 20 Jun 2019 20:57:11
Seen this guy during the international games last week and thought he would be a great fit for Celtic. Hope this one is true.

13.) 20 Jun 2019 21:45:08
Fair enough guys, just a thought about his age.

14.) 20 Jun 2019 22:48:29
I think this is ideal replacement for lustig. We have a load of young players need wee bit more experience, especially at the back. Hope this goes through also it now looks like we will be getting turnbul . He has apparently said celtic is his best option for his career.

15.) 20 Jun 2019 22:50:23
We have just signed David Turnbull.

Very strange scenario.

16.) 20 Jun 2019 23:18:07
Caps off to you Dafabet.

19 Jun 2019 21:20:14
Mika confirms he’s away. Terrific free transfer and loyal servant. All the best PC Lustig.

1.) 19 Jun 2019 21:31:03
Sad to see him depart, but he did so as a fan and will come back a legend for the 10. Anyone else in Glasgow nabbing a copper's lid wouldn't live to tell the tale. Viva Mika.

2.) 19 Jun 2019 21:39:54
All the best to the big man
Big shoes to fill.

3.) 19 Jun 2019 21:59:37
Sad to see Lustig go he is a great player and a great servant to the cause.

He will still offer a lot at his next club.

See you for the 10 in a row party my friend 💚.

4.) 19 Jun 2019 22:57:56
Perfect example of a foreign player coming here and knowing what the club means to the fans! Became a big player on and off the park for us and will be welcome back any time! Think we all knew his time was up over the last 18 months or so but I would still have liked it handled better! Wish him nothing but the best wherever he goes and I’m sure we’ll see him again sooner rather than later supporting the team!

5.) 19 Jun 2019 23:04:48
Well done to lustig what a fantastic servant he was for Celtic. It's the right time for him to go and best of luck to him for the future.

6.) 19 Jun 2019 23:22:31
Ain't it great seeing all these tributes to big Lustig, Halfway through the season he was getting pelters and being castigated for being slow and finished. None as fickle as football fans. Good luck to Mika wherever he goes. I for one am sorry to see him go as I thought he had rediscovered his mojo under Lennon.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 10:23:16
The man has been a wonderful servant to our club, and all the more remarkable that we got him free. He took to Celtic very quickly and our club certainly got under his skin. He's been our lucky charm in many ways as he's known nothing but success, but if he was honest with himself he probably knew his time was coming to a close. However, in my opinion, he merited at least another years contract, and for that experience both on the field and in that dressing room would have been vital over this coming season. I'm also sad that he didn't have the opportunity to say farewell to us. He's been remarkable for us and I wish him and his family nothing but the best. Officer Lustig, we salute you.

17 Jun 2019 21:41:19
Turnbull deal back on apparently.

1.) 17 Jun 2019 22:13:28
Where we hearing this 67?

2.) 17 Jun 2019 22:19:56
Good I hope we sign him as he has the potential to be a very good player for us.

3.) 17 Jun 2019 22:38:00
If the deal isn't agreed tomorrow I think we need to pull the plug. If it's all about money let him do a Hooper, that worked out well.

4.) 17 Jun 2019 22:59:27
Online and now the S*n reporting it. Told his agent he wasn’t interested in waiting to see if anything developed down south.

5.) 18 Jun 2019 07:32:44
Is his agent his dad? Motherwell fan in work told me he is. U would think he would give sound career advice instead of the greed he has shown so far if its his dad.

07 Jun 2019 23:01:42
Bahlul mustafazada apparently spotted being picked up by a guy in a suit and celtic tie at Glasgow airport tonight.

1.) 08 Jun 2019 06:26:59
Is he not on international duty?

20 May 2019 19:00:53
AVB in from 16/ 1 to 6/ 4 favourite.

1.) 20 May 2019 19:59:35
Supposedly in Edinburgh for a coaching course. People have spotted him and backed him.

20 Jun 2019 22:58:47
Good sign if Lennon’s told Lawwell that he wants to sign him no matter what it takes and he’s went and slapped the offer on the table. Maybe not his pupper after all.

27 May 2019 21:37:02
Lennon was by no means my first choice, far from it. But I think there’s been a major negative over reaction to his appointment.

He was brought in to deliver the treble, and he’s done it. Yes the League was pretty much wrapped up, but the cup wasn’t and the ties we got in that were far from easy.

Obviously the performances haven’t been up to scratch, but I’m hoping with the summer to bring in his own players and have implement his own style we’ll see an improvement. He’s also had it tough injury wise since he came in, and has had next to no use out of KT and Christie, and none out of Griffiths.

Do I wish we’s got someone else? Of course. But I still think we are in capable hands as we head towards the 10.

1.) 28 May 2019 12:58:03
Didn't he do that at Hibs? They was terrible most games and only picked their game up when playing us or Sevco.

23 May 2019 21:22:46
Moyes is by no means my first choice as our new manager. However, I’m surprised that his potential appointment is being greeted with so much negativity.

I’m in no doubt that the main reason for this is that too many of our supporters are convinced that we actually have a chance of getting Mourinho, Benitez or AVB. Can you really picture any of these guys rocking up to Dingwall on a Wednesday night with a team full of £2-3m summer signings? No chance.

Do I think Moyes would blow us away with free flowing football like in Rodgers’ first season (his final 18-20 months were poor) ? No

Do I think he’d make us more competitive in Europe? Maybe

Do I think he’d lead us to 9 and 10 in a row? Definitely.

Don’t forget this is a man who was handpicked by one of the greatest manager’s ever to manage the biggest team in the world not so long ago.

To think he’d fail in Scotland is laughable.

1.) 23 May 2019 21:47:07
He was on a hiding to nothing following fergie and in relative terms didn't spend much compared to what van gal and Jose spent he then made 2 bad choices going to Spain and serial failures West ham.

2.) 23 May 2019 22:10:33
I have multiple reasons I don't want him near our great club, here's a few
1) He hasn't done a thing in the game- Managed Preston -mediocrity
Managed Everton -mediocrity
Every job he's had since has been disasterous.
2) He is one of the most boring people to listen to-zero charisma, good managers need to be good talkers.
3) The main reason is he has I believe had the chance to come to us when he was in demand and ruled himself out pretty quickly.

Get him tae f***. Just no no no
ABM- Anyone but Moyes.

3.) 23 May 2019 22:28:45
It has nothing to do with the likes of AVB or jose.
It's to do with the fact he is chronic. He's never achieved a thing and it a plod along manager at best.

I have been quite vocal about not thinking Lennon is the man for job but I'd take him over moyes any day.

4.) 23 May 2019 22:51:05
Not my first choice, was good at Everton but that's it.

In fairness though Man Utd was a sinking ship before he took over. If they were still winning titles, Fergie would still be in charge.

5.) 23 May 2019 22:58:47
Rodgers has never won anything outside of Scotland either though kev.

6.) 23 May 2019 23:11:42
Exactly Kev, I'm not deluded enough to think we are going to get some of the names being mentioned but Davie Moyes! come on we can do better than that. This is a guy who's desperate for a job because nobody wants him. I smelt a rat weeks ago when he turned up at the Kilmarnock game but tried to convince myself he was going to get the Scotland job or he was up to pay his respects to Cesar. As I said earlier once you have turned down the chance to come to our great club you don't get another.

7.) 24 May 2019 06:00:54
The mangers position will be sorted next week one way or the other thank god, then the speculation stops and whoever gets the gig wether it’s Lennon, moyes, Benitez, mourhino, the Pope, we need to get 100% behind them. Next season is massive, everything that’s been won and done for the past 8 years has led us to the brink of 9 in a row. I grew up with the stories of the lions doing it and never in my wildest dreams thought I’d see a Celtic team achieve it and possibly better it. Whoever the next manager is we must give him our full support, pull together as one and build for next season. We’ve a huge job on our hands in terms of players leaving and quality being brought in. The manager ( whoever he may be) needs to fully focus on that, not wasting his time trying to unite the fans who are divided on who got the job and are happy/ unhappy with it. As long as a manager is announced pretty much straight away after Saturdays final and gets to work immediately on signings in key areas with quality I’ll be happy, after all these champions league qualifiers don’t half come around quick style.

8.) 25 May 2019 12:14:07
He never won anything in England but then again neither did Brendan Rodgers.

He's not an exciting name, probably a better manager than he gets credit for but he will be more defensive compared to Rodgers which may be a good thing.

14 May 2019 23:13:30
Interesting that Lennon and Gary Parker were at the west brom game tonight given they don’t have a manager and Parker isn’t part of Lennon’s backroom staff just now.

1.) 14 May 2019 23:30:59
Hope they were taking Ollie Burke back home.

12 May 2019 18:01:10
I think today showed clear as day that we are woefully short of strength in depth. The issue in the summer is that we need numbers at one end (defence) and quality at the other (attack) . To fix both I reckon we to spend £15m. But Celtic being Celtic, and Lawwell being Lawwell, we’ll spend half that amount and only concentrate on the defence. My squad for next season would be:

GK - Bain, Gordon

Rb - new first choice and back up if Lustig leaves

Cb - experienced partner for Ajer, Jozo and another, hopefully Benkovic again

Lb - KT, new back up, Hayes

Cm - On paper this is out strongest area but in reality its where we were found out today, and in europe. We need a physical CM with pace, strength and dynamism. A wanyama or Kante type, with Brown and McGregor, Ntcham maybe the player to sell to fund a revamp

CAM - Christie seems to be first choice now, Rogic as back up

Rw - Forrest, Shved, Johnstone

Lw - huge issue now. Weakest area of the 11 this season. Sinclair could go, Hayes doesn’t have enough quality. Lw along with right back is the priority for me

St - Eddy, Griff, new signing - either a target man, poacher or both. Bayo seems like another Balde.

1.) 12 May 2019 18:15:36
Ad sell rogic before ntcham.
How does anyone know what bayo like we haven't seen him because of injury?

2.) 12 May 2019 19:11:24
Might be best to sell Ntcham and Rogic. If McGregor is Brown's long term replacement then we need to find McGregors for his old position. can't judge Bayo until he's had game time in the first team.

{Ed007's Note - We've got McGregor's replacement in Christie. Having someone like him in there today with his energy and work rate would have made a huge difference compared to what Rogic served up out there.}

3.) 12 May 2019 20:01:01
Rogic is a luxury player when we are walking over teams.

Otherwise he's a man down.

4.) 12 May 2019 20:08:11
Has everyone forgotten how good Ntcham was last season? If we get another good coach in hopefully he'll get back to how he used to be. I know it's a big if so let's hope the board show some ambition.

5.) 12 May 2019 20:49:49
Good post LM67 spot on👍.

He’s a bit like Lustig, better defensively than going forward and not likely to bomb up and down the wing all day. Was hoping for more of a right sided KT. Maybe we’ll get both.

Surely he didn’t seriously think he’d walk in here and immediately become one of our top earners? If that’s his attitude then we are better off without him.

Still think we should be chasing Erik Durm who is a free agent and can play right and left back. Would add good depth to both positions.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks we are going to bring in 6 or 7 first team players is dreaming. Main reason being our squad is still far too big.

One quality centre half is enough given Bitton can play there too. He’d do as 4th choice given we only play 2 at a time!

Right back should be priority given we only have Ralston.

I’d like a big physical centre forward in to compliment Griffiths and Eddy (don’t think Bayo will be seen much next season to be honest) .

Still think left wing is a weak area - maybe Arzani can solve that problem. Could also see Forrest over there if Shved is too good for the bench.

He was offered £10k a week but wanted £20k. Given he’ll be on about £1k just now then I’d say our offer was very fair and his heads in the clouds! Good luck to the boy playing for Barnsley or Bristol City next season!
