I hope so. I've wanted it to be Roy for a while. I just haven't voiced that opinion much as I know most people think it would be a disaster. I reckon Roy with the right assistants could be a great success. He certainly has some of the qualities we've been missing of late. Go on, shoot me down, I can take it. :)

Ange Postecoglou will 100% not be the next Celtic manager. Probably end up with egg on my face, but the way things are just now, does not suggest he is being spoken or negotiated with!
Clueless as to who the manager will be though 😂.

Just read a blog ( not sure how reliable ) but apparently ange doest have the proper coaching badges to manage in Europe. With the way the board have handled things, would we be surprised if they misses this . Asia recognise Australia coaching badges so he has never had to satisfy uefa.

I am so underwhelmed IF IT IS HIM looking at his credentials and they aren't really inspiring ether. Surely we have to have better candidates and this is just someone that has put two and two together and getting 7 We surely need someone that understands the European market please not Keane or Lennedy.

ED007 and guys firstly I know our Board can at times act sloppily but I cannot believe something as important as a coaching badge would be overlooked, that should be first question asked "do you have your up to date coaching badges"
Secondly if it is the Australian our Board WON'T be paying him anywhere near what Howe was offered.
Thirdly get deal done quickly and preparing for next season.

You can coach but your coaching team must have have them.

Kevbhoy it was Greek 3rd division in 2008 or so . All upto date records say he doesn't have them now and is not registered on a coaching course ( the loophole slippy used ) while he finished his badges . If the info is correct he needs his a and b badges first which take longer than the 12 month c licence. A see Keane and duff are now being touted by certain sites.

first time poster I think that you need to show the willingness to gain the appropriate licence however this most often the case when a player has retired and has not reached the level required by the association the will be working under

so if this is the case it will come down to uafa and the sfa

but I think this is absolute b*******t as the team he is in charge of currently is a topflight team how under his charge has taken part in continental comp there for the licence he holds must be a continental one and there for recognised by fifa.

You are correct Ed but as of now we don't have a DoF I just hope that the board have had a huge wake up call and get it right. The green brigade got it spot on a few months ago with the banner falling asleep at the wheel I just hope they have woke up. Because so far it doesn't look like they have woke up. The Howe mess should never have gone on for so long without cast iron assurances in place. We just seem to go from one cockup to another and it can't continue I can't blame Sevco from laughing at us.

{Ed007's Note - Reading between the lines I think Harkin will be announced as DOF and has been working/planning at that role for a while. We spoke on the podcast a while ago that we thought the plan was Harkin as DOF, Howe as Head Coach and Hughes would have been Chief Scout and it looks like we were spot on.
I still don't know what more people expected Celtic to do with regards to Howe - the board bent over backwards to accommodate him - and we have all said on here the DOF should be appointing the coach/manager but because it's not a "celebrity" name they're changing their mind about that.
If it is going to be Ange Postecoglou people need to remember that all he will be is the Head Coach in charge of the first team, he won't be dealing with transfers etc and Postecoglou is a better coach and plays more attractive football than Howe.}

I think you are correct Ed I was just watching his story on YouTube seems fair but looks like a big gamble but we could do worse. I do think we should have tied Howe down long ago instead of just taking his word.

Yeah ED i get signings will be DOF job but the HC will ask for the ingredients he requires in a player. So he may want a winger who is fast good with the ball on both feet with experience and who can cross the ball score goals and can defend. DOF will then say aye right i will try but here are three names for you with mist of your ingredients

Choice 1 has all the aspects but will cost half your budget
Choice 2 has half the aspects but will only cost 1/ 4 of the budget
Choice 3 well he's the cheap option has most of your aspects but is older with a loan deal only option

Who then will have final say on who they bring in HC or DOF?
