If the deadline comes and goes and Moussa Dembele is still a Celtic player, I'll be absolutely delighted. He's easily the best striker in Scotland and its no stretch to imagine why the big clubs have been keeping an eye on hm.

I also happen to think that Griff is a genuinely world class striker now.

So the question has got to be, when do we start playing to our obvious strengths, rather than to an a priori and more-or-less-arbitrary system to flatter the gaffer's ego.

Shoot me down.

Can never understand the attraction of buying a number 10. We never talk about the need for a number 4 or 5 .
Surely we can't take number 10 off Dembele, if we do it will be a sure sign we don't want him.

I initially though Ntcham was brought in for that role. Wouldn't have a problem with him occupying it, although I'm not sure he is as direct as it demands.

I was thinking the same as IC play Ntcham at 10 and Kouassi along with Brown. To me that would be a very good triangle in midfield.

We do talk about a number 4 and 5 and 2 and 1. I don't know anybody who thinks a no 10, no matter how brilliant, will address all the weaknesses we have if we are serious about being seen as a CL team.

If anybody thinks it will, then I think they need to have another look.

What level of target do you think we are at now.
I feel target A would have been in by now possibly even target B and C also.
That's were the problem might lie. some players just might not want to come. what are people's thoughts if we don't bring anyone?
Is that acceptable? could the current squad still go on and do the treble?

Unfortunately nothing is certain in football. a one off game in the cup could scupper the plans.
I just hope the board and manager aren't as complacent as some of the fans who think we only need to turn up and the treble is ours.
We failed to strengthen in the summer maybe for once we should strengthen when we are on top and put every other team in there place.

Hard to argue with that, however very few of the players have hit the form of last season which makes this treble harder in my opinion.
I think am just getting a bit twitchy as I think we need to strenghten and it looks unlikely as each day passes.
It seems there has been a bid for dembele and it looks as if him going will be the catalyst for us to bring players in.

I'm really starting to think celtic won't bring anyone in. 6 days left, no whisper of any player. I know Rodgers keeps everything quiet but usually someone has something on a signing. Looking like no one is coming in as it stands.

I can understand the jitters. We would all like it done and dusted. We will bring in players. It might be the last day to shred the nerves, but it will happen. Of that I have no doubt.

Brendan knows what needs to be done. Three players ready to step into the team is required. There is no way he thinks things are fine. The board have his list and for once I am confident they will deliver. CL qualification is vital and with that in mind the players will be bought. Or loaned in.

I wish they would get on with it though.

You may be right Kev, but I think we need more than that. I can't see Brendan thinking one player will be enough to move to the next level. His ability to take us to the level both him and the board agreed before he signed will be supported.

He wants to move back to England one day, or perhaps abroad. To attract a team of the calibre he would want is wholly dependent upon making us a CL team. Winning the league will never raise his street cred. That's a good thing fir us. We get better in Europe then domination at home us assured.

There no other way than to bring in additional players. The board knew this when they brought him in. He has delivered two bags of CL money and qualification for the Europa. He will be given some if that money earned to continue our chances if securing it.

It's a no brainer.

At this moment I'd be happy if they announced rogic and Roberts were fit and will stay fit as I just don't see an improvement player being brought in now. I hope I'm wrong tho.

I just like the idea of a new attacking threat, something out of the midfield, Ntcham brought that change of pace now we need someone to execute the final pass from midfield. That’s what we are lacking in my opinion! Another defender whether it is a Left Back or centre back. And something to change up that left wing would be great. I’m not slagging the teams efforr but change needs to be made. Our game plan is starting to be read by other teams. Versatile tactics are key to success in my grasp of the football in Europe.

We definitely need quality brought in Ken, i think it's healthy to freshen things up and it gives everyone a boost. I was saying yesterday would like to see us tinker with the formation more, and like you say our game plan is starting to be read by teams in SPL nevermind Europe. Fingers crossed for some quality additions in a day or 2.

Things can be perceived a different way from behind a laptop Mally. I'm sure if Jim knew me personally he would know pretty quickly it ain't my style to slag anyone, other than Zombies of course. Certainly no malice and sometimes humour can be taken a different way by others. It's testing times during a transfer window 😁.
