Article in the Record saying we are after Tom Jones of Yeovil Town. 22nd y/ o right back - also linked with Hull and Swansea.

NC_67

1.) 06 Jul 2018 10:30:33
I'm assuming you mean Tom James as apposed to Tom Jones as that would be unusual 😁.

2.) 06 Jul 2018 11:26:59
Definitely Tom James heard he was a sex bomb.

3.) 06 Jul 2018 14:01:42
All that cash in the bank and all we ever get linked with are lower league english players.

4.) 06 Jul 2018 18:47:38
Only the cheap ones James, only the cheap ones. Maybe have had a broken leg, but full of promise. :) then we are all over it. I fully expect someone we never heard of, from a team no one wants to watch, from a a town you wouldn’t visit twice., who Brendan can turn into a proper player after they come back in from the loan to East Fife.

Or we might buck that approach and spend a few bob, what of those options do you think we go for?

5.) 06 Jul 2018 22:20:40
The latter.

6.) 07 Jul 2018 08:49:52
RB is not a position to take lightly I think the board will bring in a recognised player for this position.

7.) 07 Jul 2018 11:15:04
We all know lawwell takes the cheap option every time mp lol.

8.) 07 Jul 2018 23:53:41
Usual Jamesbhoy67 nonsense .

Willie Collum been announced as ref for Sunday's game.

NC_67

1.) 06 Mar 2018 16:19:15
Even before he was announced I had a sneaking feeling we will be down to 10 men on Sunday . I think the whole fa want them to go to within 3 points of us without our game in hand so they can carry on with their belief that we are on the decline and they are a massive force again. Really want us to smash them just to shut them up.

2.) 07 Mar 2018 07:55:41
Tbh we should be winning the game on Sunday murty isnae a tactical genius and most of their squad are pish we need to stop treating them with respect cos they don't deserve it let's get into them on Sunday expecting 3-1 win 🍀🍀.

3.) 07 Mar 2018 09:39:48
If kouassi starts I'd worry about him staying in the field.

4.) 07 Mar 2018 22:23:58
Surprised at the two doubters (so far 😉) . I'd have him in the first 11 to put the boot in and rough them up. From what I've watched he is a bit reckless. No problem with him booting them up and down the park then get subbed before ending up in the book for the 2nd time.

5.) 08 Mar 2018 09:36:12
Anytime I have seen him he hasn't looked anymore reckless than any other midfielder to be honest.
The type of game he plays he always goinv to be indanger of a booking but so is Brown and id have no trouble playing both of them.

25 Jan 2018 13:44:44
On the Daily Record website, says Dembele has been offered to Roma. Maybe cause Dzeko is leaving Roma, I think Chelsea are after him.

NC_67

1.) 25 Jan 2018 14:15:31
The story said "agents" had called Roma officials to offer them Dembele. I'd love to know how that works considering he's under contract to Celtic and not these so called "agents". I honestly can't wait for this to be resolved one way or another, it's so tedious and it's been the same every window since we signed him!

2.) 25 Jan 2018 15:31:46
I'd imagine we give the agents the ok to start putting feelers out. Time to cash in on him bhoys. Any truth to this Tavernier rumour? Should we take him off their hands just because we can? I think he's decent.

3.) 25 Jan 2018 16:00:53
No way should we even entertain a bid for him he can’t defend he’s ok going forward but we need a player that can defend and atack playing against better teams and he’s cost them countless times against us and lesser opponents. need to be looking at better players than him for Europe tbh with you mate.

4.) 25 Jan 2018 16:59:02
Please tell me your fishing Caese because the guy is brutal.

5.) 25 Jan 2018 17:24:57
Tavernier is definitely one of their better players. HH.

6.) 25 Jan 2018 17:41:53
@Kev83 Absolutely not Kev, a taxi driver was telling me about it (I know) and I was wondering if anyone else heard anything. It would kill them again if we signed him and I think he's a good player, granted I've only seen him against us but he's good.

7.) 25 Jan 2018 18:11:24
He can’t defend, decent going forward .

8.) 26 Jan 2018 01:44:02
Just cause he's one of their best players doesn't mean he's good enough for us. It's bad enough signing the sheep's best players without signing that lot.

20 Dec 2017 13:55:36
Anyone seen much of Jack Hendry? Reports saying he is 1 of 3 signings we will announce before the window opens.

Apparently dubbed the next John Stones.

NC_67

1.) 20 Dec 2017 15:19:24
Heard both he and the bhoy fae st mirren are getting loaned back for rest of the season.

2.) 20 Dec 2017 15:30:42
Seen a few people mentioning Morgan is a self professed rangers fan and shouldn't be near the club. Danny McGrain grew up a rangers fan didn't stop him becoming a legend!

{Ed007's Note - Morgan was on their books until he was 15/16. You're best ignoring folk that go on about such things. Their children will be Celtic players ;)

3.) 20 Dec 2017 15:43:43
If we are signing both in January that would be the best thing to do keep them where they are playing until May then they can come in over the summer with Christie etc and get pre season done with the squad and see where they are. I think these are 2 players who look like projects rather than 2 who are going to come straight into the team. Remember guys like McGeough were at Rangers it shouldn't matter.

4.) 20 Dec 2017 15:46:41
We've never cared who people support and we shouldn't start now.

{Ed007's Note - Except Motherwell supporters - they're worth the watching.}

5.) 20 Dec 2017 17:24:14
with us signing Compper and possibly Morgan is that going to be job done in terms of players in cause BRs number 2 said not to expect too much to be done interms of players in then?

6.) 20 Dec 2017 18:21:20
I think since BR has come in they have done a pretty good job of fooling the media so wouldn't read to much into it Rich T.

7.) 20 Dec 2017 20:04:40
lewis morgan of st mirren one of the signings.

03 Oct 2017 11:39:07
Simunovic pulled from Bosnian squad due to Hamstring tear - which has a recovery time of 6-8 weeks.

Gr8 news! Just as we have Bayern games and HIbs semi final coming up.

The argument we should have signed another CB is getting stronger. Our current options are so injury prone.

NC_67

{Ed007's Note - Some hamstring tears can heal in 2-3 weeks while some can take up to 12 weeks to heal so for now it's just speculation on how long Simunovic will be out for and it will require further tests to ascertain the severity of his injury.}

1.) 03 Oct 2017 12:18:34
Thats all we need with a heavy schedule coming up hope big erik hits the ground running.

2.) 03 Oct 2017 12:24:04
I am sorry for Jozo as he was just getting his fitness back.
But surely a player must take responsibility for his fitness, we all know he is injury prone and Celtic have been nurturing him back to full fitness, why go away on international duty if you are carrying any kind of injury.
No, Jozo is at fault here.

3.) 03 Oct 2017 13:38:45
Tim, is it maybe that he was carrying a slight niggle and the national team wanted to see for themselves before ruling him out? If so then at least they have acknowledeged and they are not attempting to patch him up and he has the two weeks to begin his recovery. Its not Jozo fault we don't have the experience in there due to injuries etc, surely this is the fault if any of the management, whom I am loathed to point fault with (simply because of the pride and enjoyment they have brought back to supporting Celtic not for forgetting they are still unbeaten. that's really something. The BM games whilst important we are not expected to win, not saying we couldn't surprise people. As long as we beat Anderlecht at home and have our best players availble for this, the BM games are a bonus. A wee run in the Europa where we can address this position in January would benefit more than getting through to get 2 games and beaten heavily by a Madrid or other crazy budget team, even after addressing this position, Europa for me after the initial group stages of CL.

4.) 03 Oct 2017 14:11:11
Tim I think it happened in Scotland. The international gaffer said he spoke to the Celtic doctor and we sent him all the documents about the injury.

5.) 03 Oct 2017 18:03:24
Must have been a negative denizen on here then, only reason you thumbs down hoping a player plays well?

6.) 07 Oct 2017 11:02:50
may I suggest it nay be an "injury" like most people pull out of squads as they have a big schedule coming up for their club.

Looks likely that Fraser Forster is headed for the exit door at Southampton after becoming 3rd choice GK.

I think it would be great business if we could bring him back to Parkhead. He would easily be our number 1 choice, he has loads of experience and is 30 which, for a GK, means he has still has years left in him. I reckon we would get him on the cheap as well.

NC_67

1.) 11 Jul 2018 11:14:46
But can he ping passes out from the back? Lol.

2.) 11 Jul 2018 11:27:56
Not a huge fan of bringing back players who chose to leave. However I’d be excited about this, anything to get Gordon out the goal.

Can’t see it though, I imagine another prem team will take a punt on him. And nobody at Celtic seems to identify GK as a weak spot😕.

3.) 11 Jul 2018 12:25:29
Kevbhoy, Gordon was terrible with the ball at his feet before Rodgers came in but he's progressed and got better at it.

Forster is an all round better GK imo, and could fulfil that position for next 4/ 5 years.

4.) 11 Jul 2018 13:11:53
There’s a reason he’s 3rd choice now he’s over rated and like Gordon jumps down the way I’d still rather have CG and that says it all as I’m not his biggest fan.

5.) 11 Jul 2018 15:59:35
There is a reason why Forrester is third choice for Southampton and that doesn't give me much hope that he could be first choice with us .
I think if he had stayed with us he would still be rated in the top 3/ 4 English goalkeepers .

14 May 2018 09:07:50
7IAR complete and the chance to clinch the double treble next weekend - great times!

Looking ahead to next season however it is clear the squad needs revitalised. Our home form this year has been very poor and the main reason we only won the league by 9 points with is not a great margin in my opinion.

First thing's first, we need to tie up Rogic or Armstrong on a contract - don't think we will get both. Then get Eddie signed up on a permanent.

In terms of new faces, my priorities are a commanding CB, a RB as good as Tierney and a winger who can push Sinclair and either take his place or help him recapture the form he showed last year.

NC_67

1.) 14 May 2018 11:10:26
A rb is such a priority, if we had the same threat going down the right then we will cause teams a lot more issues. I can see us sticking with ajer boyata hendry lustig as our cbs next season, but if we sell jozo we really need a proper cb in. Centre midfield is fine, if armstong goes then mcginn is ideal replacement. Wingers, we need 2, this is where we were so deadly last year with paddy and sinky. If rogic goes he needs replaced. If moussa goes he needs replaced. a lot of work needs done this summer. Players will usually stick around for 2-3 years so this summer's signings will potentially be here for 10. I reckon like ntcham we will get another 5million pound player from man city and maybe a loan signing as well.

2.) 14 May 2018 15:23:34
If Armstrong leaves then I think Ryan Cristie will be more than capable of replacing him.
Mcginn has had a good season, but Cristie in my opinion is the better player of the two and should be given a chance in the side rather than sign Mcginn.

3.) 14 May 2018 21:02:06
Why do u think Cristie would be an adequate replacement for Armstrong . I doubt if McInnes could develop Cristie as well as Brendan would, BR cannot think too highly of Cristie or he wouldn't have sent him back out on loan after his 6 mths last season.

10 Apr 2018 15:41:16
My team for the weekend:

Bain

Hendry Ajer Jozo

Forrest Armstrong Brown Tierney

Roberts Rogic

Griffiths (But will be Dembele) .

NC_67

1.) 10 Apr 2018 16:30:52
Hendry is cup tied.

2.) 10 Apr 2018 16:39:20
Bian

Hendry ajer boyata

Brown nitcham

Forrest Armstrong Tierney

Rogic

Dembele

It's our defence that I can't settle on, but midfield going forward that team would destroy them.
Hampden big park. needs plenty of pace and energy.
McGregor, Roberts, Griffiths, plenty of options.

3.) 10 Apr 2018 17:40:33
My team would be:-

Bain
Lustig Simunovic Ajer Tierney
Roberts Brown Armstrong Rogic Sinclair
Griffiths
However, I have a feeling BR will play:-

Gordon
Lustig Boyata Ajer Tierney
Forrest Brown Rogic Armstrong Sinclair
Dembele.

4.) 10 Apr 2018 20:09:55
Don't think Gordon will play OAB.

5.) 10 Apr 2018 20:36:08
Bain

Simunovic Ajer Tierney

McGregor Brown Ntcham Armstrong

Forrest Roberts

Griffiths

Wouldn’t mind seeing this.

6.) 10 Apr 2018 20:40:55
People on here giving a team selection with hendry in it, is he not cup tied? even if he could play id have him nowhere near this game. Jozo is our best centre half imo and surely it will be a back 4 but some people wanting ntcham, rogic and armstrong in same team? If rodgers goes brown and ntcham then either armstrong or rogic would play the number 10 position but that means 1 of them miss out surely. My team would be gordon, lustig, simonovic, boyata, tierney, brown, armstrong, rogic, mcgregor, forrest and griffiths.

7.) 10 Apr 2018 20:46:50
Kev t i don't see roberts and forrest both starting and surely rogic has to be in there?

8.) 10 Apr 2018 20:47:37
Great shout Kev.

9.) 10 Apr 2018 22:48:13
Whatever team starts is OK as long as it doesn't include Boyata. We will hardly get away with it again with him in defence. Like to see Bain in goal too. Like your team Kev.

10.) 11 Apr 2018 00:00:14
I think we will be ok on Sunday because Brendan relies solely on who he thinks will do the best job for him . I am not going to be presumptuous enough to pick the whole team but I would certainly go for Ajer and Boyata as his centre defence partnership .

11.) 11 Apr 2018 00:58:53
simonovic and boyata every day of week and why are so many people liking kevs team with both forrest and roberts as no way they are both going to start so that's totally pointless.

12.) 11 Apr 2018 11:28:14
Tyson ajer has been our most consistent CB since he made the team. Ye he made a mistake at weekend but they are few and far between fae him. Can't say same about they other 2 bomb scares.

09 Apr 2018 13:03:31
Another sub par performance yesterday. Think Demebele set the tone for the game when he missed a 1 on 1 inside 10 seconds.

Gave away a really poor goal with a ball over the top and Ajer committing himself. A rare mistake from him to be fair but that's the way the Huns will play on Sunday. Long balls over the top and play on our mistakes.

We didn't move the ball enough and did not get our strikers into the game even when we went two up top. Not enough movement, not enough speed!

We have hit all of our objectives for the season so far but we've done so playing some really poor and boring football.

There will be an overhaul in the summer due to players going etc. but also because we need a fresh spark! Seen a lot of people question Rodgers recruitment and Congerton and they have a point - where's Eboue went? What's happening with Commper? DDV rotten, Gamboa hardly given a game, Musonda hardly played.

Don't mean to be so doom and gloom while we are on the verge of a double treble. Just feel the style of play could be better.

NC_67

1.) 09 Apr 2018 17:37:01
Really think some of the players are still striving to find their best form - mostly due to long injury absences (Rogic, Armstrong, Dembele, Griffiths and Roberts) - and others have had issues with form lapses, but are trying to play through it.
Although we have not been at our best, It's actually amazing we are in this position as any other team would have really struggled with similar set-backs to their attacking options.
The team is still totally dominating possession, but just needs that wee bit of composure and confidence that will come.
Sunday is a great opportunity to put in a performance and result to remind everyone how good we are.

12 Mar 2018 19:47:19
Well, it really is the best feeling in the world!

Thought we were brilliant yesterday with the exception of Boyata's blunders. Don't think he should have started but who cares now. Rest of the team showed great fight!

Rodgers reactions to our goals was brilliant to see, he was as buzzing as us! Tactically he showed his worth when we went down to 10 men!

Can't wait to put them out the semi next month! We will have a full strength team to choose from then.

We are terrible at corners, free kicks and thrown ins. I remember when MON was boss and almost every corner was a goal. Even Lennon and WGS made us threats from set pieces and used them well in Europe.

Doesn’t seem like Brendan focuses on them in training as they reall are woeful. The delivery is rotten but even when it is a decent ball into the box we don’t attack the six yard box.

Do you think Roberts coming to Celtic is as simple as us paying the fee Man City want? Sorry but it's not. From what I can see Roberts is reluctant to come back north unless he is not given a chance at City and there are no other tempting others from English sides.

Agree with Mac! Lawwell has been a shrewd operator over the last few years and we are seeing the results of this now - Brendan coming in and selling out STs and qualifying for Champs League was a massive boost too!

After an amazing season I don't see the need for any negativity. In Celtic, We Trust!

Gerryc -

If they aren't Rodgers signings why did he say in January the board delivered everything he wanted? Compper and Hendry were signed in the Jan window. If we had signed 2 better CBs instead of them we would have qualified.

So yeah Rodgers is part of the reason we got knocked out and has to take his share of the blame.

I agree Stephboy. Rodgers said January was a significant window in terms of preparing for the qualifiers and we signed a CB who played 1 game in the second half of a season, a rookie CB and a back up goalie.

Really hope I'm proved wrong and we go and bring some quality players in before the window shuts but I know what Celtic are like!
