The way Brendan is talking we won't be getting any quality signings. Loan after loan and signing guys like Hayes Mulumbu Hendry. I understand getting young players in and nurturing them but it's time to spend on a few quality experienced players. We got 7 million for Armstrong and 7 for the VVD sell on clause.

20 million for Dembele. Talk of 14 million for Ntcham. It cost around 9 million for the 4 of them.39 million is an outstanding peice of business that will earn the board and shareholders plenty along with bonuses.

This will be like the last window will be like the last and the summer - Underwhelming is an understatement!

See to be honest I can see the the way the club are doing it, we have players like Boyata, Gamboa, lustig, Mulumbu, kouassi, Benkovic all on decent wages at the club plus more that aren’t playing. The numbers need to be cut down then it’s makes more sense to bring players in. With Boyata and Benkovic there until the summer it makes non sense to then pay 2-3million in a centre back until there are both away. I genuinely think we will recruit the quality needed to win the league. Use rangers for a example, they will have a huge wage bill considering there financial circumstances and they have around 10 centre midfield players. We don’t want to be in that position.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 10:53:43
We will hopefully get an experienced right back in and that should be enough for the remainder of the season. Re-build in the summer and unfortunatley risk crashing out of the CL qualifiers.

I also fully expect Ntcham to go on deadline day with no chance of getting another player in. 14mil for the rainy day fund, with no chance of Lawell ever seeing rain.

We are playing russian roulette now guys. If and its a big IF they win the league this year and somehow manage to qualify for the Champions league we will be humiliated. Every chance in the world to put them to the sword once and for all this window. They are paying massive amounts of money trying to stop our bid for 10. Massive amounts of money that will kill them again if we win the league this year. We should be ensuring there demise again. NOT letting them back in.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 11:09:17
Well said Craigwylie. Too many pantywetters on here these days.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 12:28:04
The club has been stock-piling players for too long with very few making the grade or showing any improvement or reliability.
Therefore, we just can't keep adding to a squad that is far too big and expensive to maintain, with little chance of profit or success.
De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Hayes, Eboue, Benyu, Izzaguire, Aitchison, Mulumbu and even Morgan have all failed to displace any of their counterparts for any length of time or establish themselves.

These players apart; Our current squad has cover for every position even allowing for injured and absent players like Griff, Arzani and Rogic. (Allen earmarked for Hibs) .
Gordon/ Bain Lustig/ Ralston Ajer/ Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT/ Miller Forrest/ Johnston Brown/ Ntcham Bitton/ Cal-Mac Christie/ Burke Sinky/ Weah Edouarde/ Bayo

This is why we need to sell, sell, sell - before we buy and there are still nearly two weeks of the window to go.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 16:54:41
Maybe if we bought some first team ready quality, we wouldn’t need all the “potential “ that’s bulking the squad. It could actually save money too.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 17:19:55
I am a romantic and I love stories like 11 bhoys born within spitting distance of paradise lift the european cup or ten men win the league or the invincibles or double treble winners etc. We are living the dream. That said I agree totally that this is not "Wonderland" and hard facts dictate that we need to sell as we have too big a squad and it needs to be reduced above all moving on those who have little or no chance to play for us but of course there is a problem as some prefer to take the wages we give and not play than move on.
It's true we can't stockpile players but neither can we break our pay structure for marquee signings or indeed we risk everything . let's just win the leaggue etc the Celtic way and not be the eternal gamblers like Sevco who are putting all their trust in an old man to score lots of goals so as to overtake our goal difference advantage etc.

7.) 19 Jan 2019 20:39:55
Chasaboy quality costs money and quality don't want to play in Scotland, Cardiff City have just offered £18 million for a Nantes player yes Cardiff how can we compete with that and the wages he will be offered. oldkilly.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 20:50:11
Well said Donjim. I think it’s quite possible that the biggest issue we have is finding players who are willing to sign, who are good enough to make us better. Therefore we need to keep what we’ve got till we can bring them in and if we do, then we start offloading one or two. Alternatively, we may have several players developing who will break through in the next year or two, who look better than the level of player we can realistically attract. The strategy then would be to run down the squad players’ contracts and the development players take their place. I’m confident that BR and Pedro want to invest to improve but they’re not willing to invest in rubbish just to appease the pantywetters and the Scottish media. Ultimately, we will not allow the media, the fans or Sevco to dictate how we plan or how we budget to execute those plans and that’s why we will continue to succeed.

9.) 21 Jan 2019 14:09:31
VVD, Wanyama, Moussa all played here, so we can get them, but not for a ten bob postal order. That’s our problem. When Rogers stated we won’t even go to £4m I think we all knew feck all real quality was coming anywhere near us.

Another window where our gaping wound defence is not even addressed and we are back to square one in the summer. If anybody is trying to push the, we will sort it in the summer rubbish, please don’t. Have we not been here before? Or is it just a panty wetting conspiracy that we never fecking learn? I think the evidence is there that after three years and jack rubbish being done we need a change of strategy that includes spending some of the bonus pot on players.

17 Jan 2019 18:19:18
So there will be more player's coming in and going out. Who do you think will be going on loan and permanently? Alan is going in the Summer. Hopefully DDV, Henry, Commper, Benyu, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Izzy and Boyata this window or the next.

Pud

1.) 17 Jan 2019 18:32:29
I'd like to see Allan go in this window rather than kick his heels for another 6 months tbh. He's not been given any game time with Celtic and that won't change between now and the end of the season.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:18
You forgot Gamboa and Lusnig and possibly Brown and Griffiths.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:26
If mctominey comes in, is he not a similar player to Liam Henderson.

4.) 17 Jan 2019 22:59:10
Is he not defensive mid tam?

5.) 18 Jan 2019 04:34:19
Tamtam McTominay was playing in the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho last season, Henderson couldn’t get a game with us.

6.) 18 Jan 2019 05:33:12
McTominay has the qualities and ability to be a box to box midfielder. No doubt about that. He wasn't asked to do it at Utd but did show glimpses in the way he tries to drive the ball forward. There's an attacking mentality in him, he used to play as a striker. A very tidy player. Another loan without a chance of a permanent signature wouldn't be too impressive at this stage though, especially not a centre mid.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 08:03:52
So if he comes in that's 4 players we're developing for other clubs and we've no chance if signing them . not for me doesn't seem right at least the people loans are past it.

8.) 18 Jan 2019 09:06:27
Lewis Morgan has not had enough of a chance to write him off as a dud, he could benefit from a loan spell to get game time, but he deserves to be given a decent chance .

9.) 18 Jan 2019 09:21:47
Solkjaer says he'll not be going on loan this window so it's more sh$te.

10.) 18 Jan 2019 09:23:06
He was mediocre in toiling Utd side, again bang average in Scotland games. Not any better than what we already have and don’t see the point in developing other teams players unless they are either of a higher level or in a position we actually need help in.

07 Dec 2018 20:35:59
Brendan saying "Boyatas signed a 5 year deal " when asked by 1 of the press. 😂😂He asksed him "Where have you seen the contract"? On Instagram. "Ahh on anti-social media"😂.

18 Oct 2018 19:26:18
Well it's been a laugh during the international break. (I'm not meaning the Scotland games 😂). From Brendan leaving for any managerial job that's currently available to Boyd's inside knowledge! Celtic in crisis, Dressing room split, Charlie's usual guff, Griffith's taking the huff, KT dropped. Then we have had The Semi final debacle, The ticket allocations, Venues, Aberdeen up in arms, Hearts up in arms, Celtic pissed off and a HAPPY The rangers (unheard off).

Pud

1.) 18 Oct 2018 21:17:26
Sevco happy because they're get yo g everything there own way due to spfl and sfa bias.

05 Oct 2018 10:39:13
It's about time Rodgers sees that Lustig is now a has-been and Hendrys is a never should have been! In the midfield Ntcham was poor Mulumbu gave his all, McGregor left chasing shadows.

Pud

1.) 05 Oct 2018 16:54:19
Maybe he does and didn't get the cash but in jan a rb and a striker are a must.

2.) 05 Oct 2018 17:29:30
Maybe a couple of CB's mally before a rb and a st👍☘HH.

3.) 05 Oct 2018 19:18:43
And a goalkeeper.

4.) 06 Oct 2018 01:47:26
Gamboa and Simunovic were on the bench.

We should have played them before Lustig and Hendry.

Or Tierney in central defence with Izzy on left Wing.

Mikel Lustig has been a fantastic player for Celtic in both domestic and European football. Thanks Mikel, but these fast left winger lads are increasingly getting past you mate.

Poor Gordon must be keeching himself when the team-sheet goes up and young Hendry is in front of him.

5.) 06 Oct 2018 10:55:15
Gordon's just as a big a liability as Hendry is. Hopefully we can sell Jozo and Compper in Jan (pay off) and BUY a new CB and settle him in. Another CB to follow in summer after Boyata and Benkovic leaves. If Boyata leaves before then we'd need 2 so maybe keep Jozo until summer. Surely Ralston can't be as big a liability as Lustig has been lately. Or Gamboa for that matter. Especially playing as a wing back I think he could excel. We need a new RW in Jan that'll score and create lots to replace the void left by PR7 and as mentioned Nick Powell too as he can play both CAM and ST. No idea what has happened to Ntcham if his forms dipped because of Porto, The moose or he's fed up now but if he doesn't want to be here then he needs to go. The money raised by him can surely get a like for like replacement in Chirivella with change. The biggest hope is a new #1 GK in summer.

6.) 06 Oct 2018 20:36:21
I’ve had a think about Lustig and Hendry.

The first time I watched Hendry, he played a blinder as right back in Lustig’s position.

Mikel is slowing against fast left Wingers in Europe. He increasingly reverts to pulling them back/ down. Gaining a yellow and risking red.

Suggestion: would Hendry as Right Back with Lustig inside him at central defence be better?

Noted Compper, Gamboa and Jozo Simunovic are fit alongside Boyatta and Tierney and Izzaguire.

Jozo was critical in the double treble and two CL group stages. Two good years service.

We need to see what Gamboa and Compper have. They’ve been there ages and are totally unknowns.

Do you think we will get any players for the Defence this window?

Pud

1.) 08 Jan 2019 22:07:48
I'd rather win 7-6 than 1-0.😘.

2.) 09 Jan 2019 00:20:36
7-6 win is great as a spectacle, but no fan would accept such a leaky defence against them, Killie and Dundee etc and no manager would let that happen.

3.) 09 Jan 2019 07:45:38
Are you nuts, I’d take it every week.

4.) 09 Jan 2019 08:16:07
Never cared what the score is as long as it's one more than the opposition.

5.) 09 Jan 2019 09:48:56
Need at least 3, 2 new centre backs and a right back.

6.) 10 Jan 2019 20:11:18
Can't see 2 CB being signed we have Jozo, Benko, Ajer and Boyata. Compper will be gone and Hendry loaned out. If we sell Boyata we will replace him. Squads way too bloated as it is. RB is bloated as well as CM/ CDM and out wide. Much rather we concentrate on getting rid of the deadwood first and getting the few quality signings we need right rather than panic buying.

What's the predictions for tomorrow? I'm going for 4-1.

Pud

1.) 28 Dec 2018 23:31:51
1-0. Eddy to score will do me.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 01:39:25
I'm going 1-3 Forrest first goal.

3.) 29 Dec 2018 01:54:41
I hope it's another person skelping but think it might be tight. Any win will do me but a 90th minute one nil to send the Orcs into meltdown would be good for a laugh.

4.) 29 Dec 2018 05:44:42
I think Celtic will win 3-1.
I can see sevco scoring early with a third of their home goals coming in the first 15 minutes. Then they will get tired and we will go on to dominate the game.
Their hero goalie will be at blame for a couple of goals today. He will parry out to Christie for a tap in, then he will do his usual for a set piece and stay on his line for Boyata to header in from 4 yards out, then Forrest will finish them off with a quick counter attack.
In our possible line up almost every player has scored at ibrokes. Lustig Boyata Mcgregor Brown Sinclair Edouard Christie got the winner for Aberdeen, im not sure about Hayes and then there is Forrest, who I hope will add to the already impressive zombie slaying list.
Brendan going for a personal 10 away wins in a row against the sheep and sevco.

5.) 29 Dec 2018 09:32:46
Am always happy with just one more than the opposition.
That will do me just fine today as well.

6.) 29 Dec 2018 19:13:03
3-0, benko, Sinclair, calmac.

09 Nov 2018 23:58:29
I just listened to Jonathan Sutherland interview with BR. Brendan slaps him down with "Typical Scottish negativity"when it was a positive night. A wee slug hurting badly along with his person media mates.

Tonights game will be like a trip down memory lane. A full fixture list with all the games kicking off at the same. Watching the game and finding out how the others are doing. Loud cheers when nothing is happening much on the park from news filtering thru every time that mob concedes a goal.

Our supporters are getting disgruntled and nervy with our transfer policy. The soundbite is always "We need quality". Well buy some and get rid of the dross now and loan them out or pay them off between now and the summer. We have far too many that aren't and never will be quality. We are on course for a treble treble so calm down and keep the faith.

It was a shocking mistake. Not bias but totally unfit for the job. VAR in Scotland would just elevate the problem big time under the Powers that be.

I hope the referees do go on strike and never come back. They are all incompetent time after time. Get full time foreign officials in. It won't be long before rapeeepel campaign for their Scottish referee's to be reinstated as the fair neutral officials aren't helping their cause!
