Ed do you think there's any truth in the Robert Gumny rumours?

Pud

{Ed007's Note - All I know is that there has been talks with Lech Poznan.}

1.) 25 Jan 2019 21:14:51
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like, is he any better than Ralston? I read somewhere that he is good going forward but a bit suspect defensively.

2.) 25 Jan 2019 22:18:47
Celtic shouldn't be paying £4.5M for a guy based on the fact that you, personally, don't know how good he is?

3.) 25 Jan 2019 22:56:27
Jesus moaning has been constant on this site about not spending then when there is talk of it we get
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 01:57:30
4.5 million spending too much on gamble. Loan deal not spending enough moaning Minnie's would still find something to complain abouut after winning couple million on lottery. I have a friend just like this. its just their way. Not mine but wouldn't it be merda if we all thought the same way. Sevconians are the exception as most dont/ can't think for themselves,

5.) 26 Jan 2019 03:08:02
Ffs even when Celtic are going for a rb there is moaning spend money or not make your mind up the young lad isn't the answer just yet.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 14:11:27
I'm sure he's a good kid and looks like he can whip in a good ball. But he's not a starting 11 regular so £4.5m is a bit much. Can see us getting him for cheaper. Maybe offer them Gamboa and £2m 😋.

7.) 27 Jan 2019 10:25:29
We need a right back to is defensive minded first and if he can attack as well brilliant.

18 Jan 2019 22:31:04
The way Brendan is talking we won't be getting any quality signings. Loan after loan and signing guys like Hayes Mulumbu Hendry. I understand getting young players in and nurturing them but it's time to spend on a few quality experienced players. We got 7 million for Armstrong and 7 for the VVD sell on clause.

20 million for Dembele. Talk of 14 million for Ntcham. It cost around 9 million for the 4 of them.39 million is an outstanding peice of business that will earn the board and shareholders plenty along with bonuses.

This will be like the last window will be like the last and the summer - Underwhelming is an understatement!

Pud

1.) 19 Jan 2019 10:05:21
See to be honest I can see the the way the club are doing it, we have players like Boyata, Gamboa, lustig, Mulumbu, kouassi, Benkovic all on decent wages at the club plus more that aren’t playing. The numbers need to be cut down then it’s makes more sense to bring players in. With Boyata and Benkovic there until the summer it makes non sense to then pay 2-3million in a centre back until there are both away. I genuinely think we will recruit the quality needed to win the league. Use rangers for a example, they will have a huge wage bill considering there financial circumstances and they have around 10 centre midfield players. We don’t want to be in that position.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 10:53:43
We will hopefully get an experienced right back in and that should be enough for the remainder of the season. Re-build in the summer and unfortunatley risk crashing out of the CL qualifiers.

I also fully expect Ntcham to go on deadline day with no chance of getting another player in. 14mil for the rainy day fund, with no chance of Lawell ever seeing rain.

We are playing russian roulette now guys. If and its a big IF they win the league this year and somehow manage to qualify for the Champions league we will be humiliated. Every chance in the world to put them to the sword once and for all this window. They are paying massive amounts of money trying to stop our bid for 10. Massive amounts of money that will kill them again if we win the league this year. We should be ensuring there demise again. NOT letting them back in.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 11:09:17
Well said Craigwylie. Too many pantywetters on here these days.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 12:28:04
The club has been stock-piling players for too long with very few making the grade or showing any improvement or reliability.
Therefore, we just can't keep adding to a squad that is far too big and expensive to maintain, with little chance of profit or success.
De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Hayes, Eboue, Benyu, Izzaguire, Aitchison, Mulumbu and even Morgan have all failed to displace any of their counterparts for any length of time or establish themselves.

These players apart; Our current squad has cover for every position even allowing for injured and absent players like Griff, Arzani and Rogic. (Allen earmarked for Hibs) .
Gordon/ Bain Lustig/ Ralston Ajer/ Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT/ Miller Forrest/ Johnston Brown/ Ntcham Bitton/ Cal-Mac Christie/ Burke Sinky/ Weah Edouarde/ Bayo

This is why we need to sell, sell, sell - before we buy and there are still nearly two weeks of the window to go.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 16:54:41
Maybe if we bought some first team ready quality, we wouldn’t need all the “potential “ that’s bulking the squad. It could actually save money too.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 17:19:55
I am a romantic and I love stories like 11 bhoys born within spitting distance of paradise lift the european cup or ten men win the league or the invincibles or double treble winners etc. We are living the dream. That said I agree totally that this is not "Wonderland" and hard facts dictate that we need to sell as we have too big a squad and it needs to be reduced above all moving on those who have little or no chance to play for us but of course there is a problem as some prefer to take the wages we give and not play than move on.
It's true we can't stockpile players but neither can we break our pay structure for marquee signings or indeed we risk everything . let's just win the leaggue etc the Celtic way and not be the eternal gamblers like Sevco who are putting all their trust in an old man to score lots of goals so as to overtake our goal difference advantage etc.

7.) 19 Jan 2019 20:39:55
Chasaboy quality costs money and quality don't want to play in Scotland, Cardiff City have just offered £18 million for a Nantes player yes Cardiff how can we compete with that and the wages he will be offered. oldkilly.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 20:50:11
Well said Donjim. I think it’s quite possible that the biggest issue we have is finding players who are willing to sign, who are good enough to make us better. Therefore we need to keep what we’ve got till we can bring them in and if we do, then we start offloading one or two. Alternatively, we may have several players developing who will break through in the next year or two, who look better than the level of player we can realistically attract. The strategy then would be to run down the squad players’ contracts and the development players take their place. I’m confident that BR and Pedro want to invest to improve but they’re not willing to invest in rubbish just to appease the pantywetters and the Scottish media. Ultimately, we will not allow the media, the fans or Sevco to dictate how we plan or how we budget to execute those plans and that’s why we will continue to succeed.

9.) 21 Jan 2019 14:09:31
VVD, Wanyama, Moussa all played here, so we can get them, but not for a ten bob postal order. That’s our problem. When Rogers stated we won’t even go to £4m I think we all knew feck all real quality was coming anywhere near us.

Another window where our gaping wound defence is not even addressed and we are back to square one in the summer. If anybody is trying to push the, we will sort it in the summer rubbish, please don’t. Have we not been here before? Or is it just a panty wetting conspiracy that we never fecking learn? I think the evidence is there that after three years and jack rubbish being done we need a change of strategy that includes spending some of the bonus pot on players.

17 Jan 2019 18:19:18
So there will be more player's coming in and going out. Who do you think will be going on loan and permanently? Alan is going in the Summer. Hopefully DDV, Henry, Commper, Benyu, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Izzy and Boyata this window or the next.

Pud

1.) 17 Jan 2019 18:32:29
I'd like to see Allan go in this window rather than kick his heels for another 6 months tbh. He's not been given any game time with Celtic and that won't change between now and the end of the season.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:18
You forgot Gamboa and Lusnig and possibly Brown and Griffiths.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:26
If mctominey comes in, is he not a similar player to Liam Henderson.

4.) 17 Jan 2019 22:59:10
Is he not defensive mid tam?

5.) 18 Jan 2019 04:34:19
Tamtam McTominay was playing in the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho last season, Henderson couldn’t get a game with us.

6.) 18 Jan 2019 05:33:12
McTominay has the qualities and ability to be a box to box midfielder. No doubt about that. He wasn't asked to do it at Utd but did show glimpses in the way he tries to drive the ball forward. There's an attacking mentality in him, he used to play as a striker. A very tidy player. Another loan without a chance of a permanent signature wouldn't be too impressive at this stage though, especially not a centre mid.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 08:03:52
So if he comes in that's 4 players we're developing for other clubs and we've no chance if signing them . not for me doesn't seem right at least the people loans are past it.

8.) 18 Jan 2019 09:06:27
Lewis Morgan has not had enough of a chance to write him off as a dud, he could benefit from a loan spell to get game time, but he deserves to be given a decent chance .

9.) 18 Jan 2019 09:21:47
Solkjaer says he'll not be going on loan this window so it's more sh$te.

10.) 18 Jan 2019 09:23:06
He was mediocre in toiling Utd side, again bang average in Scotland games. Not any better than what we already have and don’t see the point in developing other teams players unless they are either of a higher level or in a position we actually need help in.

07 Dec 2018 20:35:59
Brendan saying "Boyatas signed a 5 year deal " when asked by 1 of the press. 😂😂He asksed him "Where have you seen the contract"? On Instagram. "Ahh on anti-social media"😂.

Pud

18 Oct 2018 19:26:18
Well it's been a laugh during the international break. (I'm not meaning the Scotland games 😂). From Brendan leaving for any managerial job that's currently available to Boyd's inside knowledge! Celtic in crisis, Dressing room split, Charlie's usual guff, Griffith's taking the huff, KT dropped. Then we have had The Semi final debacle, The ticket allocations, Venues, Aberdeen up in arms, Hearts up in arms, Celtic pissed off and a HAPPY The rangers (unheard off).

Pud

1.) 18 Oct 2018 21:17:26
Sevco happy because they're get yo g everything there own way due to spfl and sfa bias.

I hope to feck that 5 million bid for Mckena is fake news. He's a Carthorpe. That kind of cash for him is laughable yet aberdeen want 10 million! Madness.

Pud

1.) 23 Jun 2019 12:54:54
One player Celtic should try for the before he starts playing for their first team on a regular basis is the Hearts Young LB who played against us in the cup final can’t remember his name he looks a great prospect?

2.) 23 Jun 2019 13:01:50
cannot blame the ss they should try and get as much as poss.

3.) 23 Jun 2019 13:06:39
Apparently fake news which is a relief. £5m buys a far better CB than McKenna.

4.) 23 Jun 2019 14:21:25
I heard Jack Hendry couldn't lace Mckennas boots as he canae tie up his own yet😂.

5.) 23 Jun 2019 14:49:30
I thought he looked a good player to rich, the wee 16 yr old LB he gave his all for hearts at day and I think he played the 2 games in a week against Celtic. Just didn’t stop running or giving his all Shame he plays for at lot tho. But I would deffinetly take a chance on him and would be a cheap investment for the future.

6.) 23 Jun 2019 16:32:00
Didn't Hearts not get him from Celtic.

7.) 23 Jun 2019 20:36:40
Ryan Porteous is a far better Centre Half than McKenna.

20 Jun 2019 16:38:17
So we have brought in a guy to do a 2 months job identifying players who the WBA fans say he is a disaster! Nice 1 Peter😭 😭.

Pud

1.) 20 Jun 2019 17:00:59
Ffs this sites doing ma nut in moan moan moan. give it time man.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 17:24:35
To be fair, Mally we've given it time. We had one target so far and that was a joke in itself.

Hiring a guy to start recruitment so late in the lead up to the first champions league game is a disaster, to have that guy on a short term deal, also disaster.

Teams been regressing for a while and as we dither the rest will catch up.

Can you honestly say you're happy with these goings ons, mally?

3.) 20 Jun 2019 17:39:47
Pud, would you expect WBA to say anything other than Hammond was poor.

4.) 20 Jun 2019 17:55:36
At least this shows we are looking to sign players.

5.) 20 Jun 2019 18:01:06
In fairness Chris yeah we would. Good reputations follow as loudly as bad. fella has been away from wba since sometime in 2018 so I reckon they'll have got over it. If they're saying he's poor I'd at least give a listen but there's a good few that appear to be content to be to content. I'm not saying he's definitely going to be bad but he's not looking like a man who was beating back the hard choices job wise.

6.) 20 Jun 2019 18:29:55
He has signed some really good players in his career.

WBA are a mediocre team who constantly bounce from EPL to Championship regardless who is in charge.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 18:41:58
You will find mally that most fans are frustrated due to the downsizing and lack of activity. JK saying a few weeks now. Yes we have a good core of players but we have known for ages that Boyata Benkovic need replacing now Lustig (We knew his position needed another RB) . Patience Grasshopper is running thin. Why has Compper and DDV not been shown the door is another head scratcher.

8.) 20 Jun 2019 18:44:33
Yous didn't like congerton yous didn't want lenny lawells a miser yous don't want the new guy yous know nothing about unless your on the wba social media site where a few punters slagged him he'll no be any good then eh! give the guy a chance for all yous know he could have been talking and planning with Celtic for months but that's a bit positive so scratch that geez.

9.) 20 Jun 2019 18:49:04
Time for judgement is at the end of the transfer window, not the start. Take a deep breath a relax.

The way I see it is we still have a strong nucleus of players. We also have Arzani and Schved coming in. Tierney will return from injury stronger. I think we have enough at the minute to see us safely through the early qualifiers.

All this nonsense in the media is just that. We are coming off the back of a treble treble! I have no doubt we will strengthen and march to 9IAR comfortably.

Give it a chance lads.

10.) 20 Jun 2019 19:31:29
Agree to a certain extent guy's regarding our club looking a bit amateurish at the present moment. You can hear the sniggers emanating out of Mordor. I still have faith none the less, and let's be honest, the top brass must realise that this is the season we finally have to loosten the purse strings. Cock this up and big Pete will fall on his sword, of that I have no doubt. He'll have no choice. I'm certain he'll be aware of that. Mr Desmond will probably look to find a buyer also. So what I'm saying is they all realise this, and to keep us aboard and supporting the cause, they know they have to get it right. The repercussions are unthinkable. Keep believing. HH.

11.) 20 Jun 2019 22:31:54
It's fine to be positive if there's things to be positive about. 3 clean sweeps is a positive.

Watching the team that achieved it dismantled and not strengthened is anything but positive.

Sorry we're not all cheerleaders like yourself, mally or you, Mr beadle.

20 Jun 2019 02:05:32
Lennon said a month or 2 ago that they where working on transfers behind the scenes yet still mo activity. Are the money. men waiting. on the inevitable sale of Ntcham? ? If so it's a slap in the face to all supporters. This is a crucial window so hopefully we get a few quality players in. No doubt we will hear Griffiths and Arzani are like 2 new players. The 2 American lads and Shved added so no more loans and projects. Pre season. is always a pain in the arse know wonder the fans are growing impatient.

Pud

1.) 20 Jun 2019 06:57:06
It's frustrating as we seem to be in active not only with buying but selling. We knew boyata was leaving and lustig was on his way. At the very least 2 replacements should have been signed between Jan and now to report for pre-season.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 07:22:59
Same every season we are all sucked in, thinking its going to be a good window with all the rumours and then let down by the end of it.

3.) 20 Jun 2019 08:19:21
Ntcham is dug meat, I'd be over the moon if we got close to £10m for him.

4.) 20 Jun 2019 10:20:22
We have a superb business model, very healthy bank balance, state of the art facilities, very successful team setting domestic records. However, when it comes to recruitment, transfer deals and building from a position of strength - we are still in the last century.
