Ntcham signs a new 4 year deal!
Great News.

{Ed007's Note - But... but.... huff... not interested... misses Dembele... clearly wants out... raging we never let him leave.... for the off in January...

1.) 09 Nov 2018 13:02:40
Olly will need to settle for a spot in the bench. Christie and McGregor on fire 🔥 🔥 🔥.

2.) 09 Nov 2018 14:26:55
How can that be true when guys like magicpole know he really wants away? 🤔.

3.) 09 Nov 2018 14:47:36
Good buisness by Celtic guarantees a big sale when time comes. Ntcham will need to up his game more regular to be First team pick.

This split in the dressing room causing this crisis is hard to watch. HH.

4.) 09 Nov 2018 16:12:50
Fantastic news and it's amazing the turnaround in positivity around our club.

The amount of panty wetting (to use one of eds phrases) was ott and playing into the hands of the media and so called expert pundits.

I'm really looking forward to the January window and feel convinced we will yet again lay a marker down.

5.) 09 Nov 2018 16:41:26
Olly would you like more money?

More money yes please.

Only catch is its guaranteed for next 4 years with a 12 million buy out clause. Think your worth 12?

I'm worth 20 gimme that so I can sign it.

{Ed007's Note - If Ntcham was in a huff and desperate to leave in January why would he sign a new deal 7 weeks before the transfer window opens? And, if you're right about the buy out clause, why would he potentially price himself out of a move he's desperate for, what if other clubs don't think he's worth the £12 million and will only pay £10 million?
So come February we could have a player that's supposedly in the huff and desperate to leave who's stuck here because nobody will pay the buy out clause HIM & HIS AGENT agreed only 12 weeks previously.
I can't see that, if he was that desperate to leave he wouldn't care how much Celtic got for him for a start and his agent wouldn't be that stupid, his job is to maximise the player and his own money, not the Club's and he makes a lot more from transfers than he does new contracts.}

6.) 09 Nov 2018 17:43:01
This is great news . I think this guy on form is fantastic.

7.) 09 Nov 2018 19:50:02
Ed let me get this right.
We've have went from guys on here
KNOWING nctcham is DEFINITELY leaving to guys on here KNOWING what's in his contract the day he signs it?

{Ed007's Note - I'm wondering what the shout will be the next time he misplaces a pass - demonic possession, bendy water? 🤔

8.) 09 Nov 2018 23:15:52
Bendy water? wtf is that? LOL.

Ntcham will misplace his passes; cause he's trying to find his compass and something unusual. That's everything I love about his game. (I do miss the pirouette passes he began with: the unwobbling pivot- a a little, but no-one gets to stand around in a BR team)

Felt sorry for Eboue and Arzani this week. That must have been a spectacle from the sidelines. I fear we have alienated the former, and suspect there's still a player in there.

{Ed007's Note - Have ypu not seen the Leigh Griffiths 'bendy water' video?

And then watch the bendy water guy's videos!!!!!!

If Ntcham was the finished article he wouldn't be a Celtic player, he's here to learn and progress and with him signing a new deal and what he said he feels he's in the right place for that.
I've put up links to articles before comparing the 2 and how City didn't need Pogba etc but would you swap Pogba for Ntcham? Now there's a player that doesn't want to be at his club but that's another story.
Footballing wise though I honestly don't see how anyone who has wathed Pogba regularly at Man Utd could choose him, behind all the hype and profile there is a very average 25-year old player, I've yet to see him take a game by the scruff of the neck for club or country.
Christie's made a bigger impact for us the last few weeks than Pogba has at Utd.}

9.) 10 Nov 2018 14:39:00
The ntcham away posts were just made up nonsense. there was no substance and as ed says he misplaced a pass and it was oh me must want away because dembelles away. wish we could just enjoy theses players while there here.

10.) 10 Nov 2018 09:26:59
Bloody hell, that's good Ed, cheers! got to love Leigh's attitude, a sort of indulgent skepticism.

Enjoyed the City articles on Ntcham, I don't think they are an exaggeration. I do have some regard for Pogba. He first came to my attention when we played Juve in the CL and looked really awesome. He does look pretty average most times I've seen him in England but I have no lover for utd.

{Ed007's Note - You can just imagine LG sitting with a tablet surrounded by a team of kids watching youtube videos about bendy water 😂

11.) 13 Nov 2018 01:13:06
Ntcham seems like he has his head screwed on. I do think he will be away at some point down the line however he will be here untill he develops like Wanyama, Van Dijk, Dembele or Gamboa converts to CM.

06 Aug 2018 03:43:44
Just read a report that Fulham have bid £9m for Boyata
Have you heard anything ED?
He is a good defender but I honestly think I would take it as he is in the last year and we could lose him for nothing in Jan.

{Ed007's Note - There's been an enquiry from Fulham but I don't know if there's been any bids yet but there will be in the next few days.}

1.) 06 Aug 2018 11:49:39
If Celtic want rid of its a win win but if the players no happy with terms and wants to stay he won't go and we end up losing him for free next year better get rid make money now to reinvest in team with still time on our hands this window.

03 Aug 2018 13:09:10
More great news regarding the new 5yr deal with Dafabet, Old Squinty eyes must be crying in his cornflakes.

1.) 03 Aug 2018 13:37:12
He can’t afford cornflakes.

2.) 03 Aug 2018 14:48:35
old squinty will cry that much the tears will run down his back.

3.) 03 Aug 2018 16:42:03
Any word on how much it generates?

4.) 04 Aug 2018 10:51:20
Why are people talking about this deal like it’s “life changing” it’s a pretty standard deal tbh works out about 2mil odds a season

Literally anything Celtic do get over the top praise nowadays lol. Aww they signed a deal to sell cheeseburgers at the stadium! Incredible work.

We could cancel the Dafabet contract and find someone else to pay similar money anyway lol. People are acting like we got Microsoft to give us 100 mil a year.

{Ed007's Note - So the new deal's worth less than the one we had?}

5.) 04 Aug 2018 11:01:47
I dunno the exact figure but what I’m saying is that it’s not going to be life changing for us.

I’m not saying it’s no a good deal either just saying people overreacting to it like we got bought over with PSGs owners

If it’s so good we could afford to throw an extra million at John McGinn lol.

{Ed007's Note - I still don't see what point you're trying to make. Or is it just another chance to whinge and moan about something?}

6.) 04 Aug 2018 13:51:53
Pinto syndrome.

7.) 04 Aug 2018 18:29:17
Not moaning though is it? just confused as to why people have been talking about the deal as if it's turned around the fortunes of our club.

it's a basic sponsorship deal. Lawwell could have turned up in a trackie with a bottle of bucky and they would still want to sponsor us.

We achieved something most reasonabely sized clubs do and gained a sponsorship deal based on their club reputation.

You would think Lawwell had turned lead into gold.

{Ed007's Note - It's an improved deal - the biggest ever shirt sponsorship deal in Scottish football history - which will help us to continue to dominate Scottish football, I can't see anything negative about it. Having long term deals like this shows how stable the Club is and it's planning for the future, to have long standing partnerships enhances our reputation in the City and makes us a more attractive prospect to other potential sponsors or partners.
And if it's a basic sponsorship deal you must know the details of it......

8.) 07 Aug 2018 12:14:03
How much is the deal worth? I haven’t heard the figure but did notice the deal Man City are getting from Puma of £50m a year. It’s a different world down there of course but would be interested what the best deal ever actually is.

30 Jul 2018 17:58:29
Hi Ed
Anything in the story of Hibs accepting £2.4m + Hayes on loan for McGinn?
Yes I did read it on Twitter but don't know if anything has happened on the deal lately.

{Ed007's Note - Hibs do want Hayes on loan and, as I explained the other week, for Celtic to come to an agreement to terminate Scott Allan's contract so that he is free to join them.}

1.) 30 Jul 2018 19:45:19
Cheers Ed.

{Ed007's Note - No probs mate.}

2.) 30 Jul 2018 21:17:10
What's everyone's thoughts on this? Personally I don't think it's a great deal for us, paying up Allan's contract and loaning them Hayes who at the moment is our most likely back up LB plus the fee is a big outlay for a player we can sign on a pre contract in January.

3.) 30 Jul 2018 21:50:25
Amazes me how many fans are concerned about the clubs finances these days. Leave that to DD and Pistol Pete.

Two players who aren’t good enough leaving and one with huge potential coming in. that's all that matters to me.

4.) 30 Jul 2018 22:14:33
We could probably take a leaf out of hibs book when teams come knocking for our talent. They see to be driving a hard bargain by all accounts.

I think Hayes deserves a chance in the side for the record. I'd be minded to see if Allan could step up too, but I think that ship has probably sailed.

{Ed007's Note - You don't think getting £7 million for Armstrong, a player going into the last year of his contract and desperate to leave, was driving a hard bargain? I think that was fantastic work by Lawwell. Armstrong could have sat on his arse for a year and sign a pre-contract with Southampton in January just like Allan could do to sign for Hibs.
Hibs (and Celtic) know that they can't afford that situation to arise with McGinn, it's lunacy to allow your most valuable asset to leave on a free (who said Larsson at the back there?) just to save face, I expect a deal for McGinn to be finalised once Hibs European fate is decided.}

5.) 30 Jul 2018 22:56:59
But is this what Allan wants?, surely he would be better financially staying with his Celtic contract, I still think in certain types of games against certain types of opponents, where a bit of craft and guile is needed, Allan would be what Celtic need.

{Ed007's Note - Allan wants to move back to Hibs, he's told both Hibs and Celtic that. He might be better off financially staying at Celtic but it isn't going to do his career much good, he's 27 later this year and has made a paltry 156 career appearances.}

6.) 30 Jul 2018 23:04:16
That seems a lot for McGinn one player on Loan one players contract paid up and 2.4m I think that there is a player in Scott Allan given the chance.

{Ed007's Note - Well we could pay Hibs £3.2 million and then sell them Scott Allan for £800k, would that maje you feel better?
Just to be abundantly clearvhere, when we don't spend money the fans moan, when we're haggling over fees the same fans moan and when a player is maybe costing £2.4 million and a loan player the same fans moan... Anyone else see a pattern here?
Boeriggter, Pukki, Amido Balde, Marvin Compper and Kouassi but McGinns too expensive, give your head a wobble, Rich, you're stumbling into panty-wetter territory here. McGinn is the best player in Scotland not on Celtic's books, people moan about us not selling for EPL prices while moaning about giving Hibs circa a third of the Armstrong fee - even our captain is publicly talking up McGinn, I think the word was 'fantastic'.}

7.) 31 Jul 2018 00:12:38
if Allan wants that, then that is the best solution for all parties.

8.) 31 Jul 2018 00:19:23
You need to go all the way back to Hayes signing to realise how poor we failed there.

We gave Aberdeen money plus Mackay-Steven who although not good enough is probably more suited to us than Hayes.

So that was a poor deal, doomed to fail and a waste of money.

McGinn like him or not, the club want him and I assume Rodgers does. If that's the case and they don't get him then it's a bit of a joke tbh.

{Ed007's Note - I never understood the Hayes signing but I think the jersey was weighing down GMS. I think Brendan just remembered the nice wee Irish lad from their time at Reading and thought he could add something (aggression/physicality?) in the wide areas. He's 31 now and would be better moving on to somewhere he will regularly play, the injury cut short his Celtic career before he had a chance to prove people -me included - wrong.}

9.) 31 Jul 2018 07:40:39
Could mcginn not cover left back if needed.

10.) 31 Jul 2018 08:31:03
Aye, Ed, they definitely held the line with Armstrong. I wouldn't have expected that it he has went last year, and wit the player so obviously keen to move on it was a fine bit of business.

{Ed007's Note - I was expecting £3 -3.5 million and I'd have been happy with that but to get £7 million was fantastic imo, I give Pedro plenty of stick but when it comes to transfer negotiations he's one of the best in the business.}

11.) 31 Jul 2018 10:26:52
Don't see the issue. We have Morgan and Johnson and potentially Arzani. Hayes and Allen haven't really featured in last two seasons so won't be missed, no harm intended to either. I like how we are improving our team and also helping out Hibs and Aberdeen making them stronger at the same time win win. Imagine we abused our position by trying to unsettle players. Then offering derisory figures only for them all to be refused. Eventually reaching an agreement that your not fully happy with but are strong armed into as opposed to keeping a deeply unhappy player. Then offering to pay nothing up front for a couple of years as you actually can't afford it and don't really have any money! Hoping that you unsettle the player enough that they actually agree. If that still doesn't work offer to take them on loan. If you don't think we look in better shape now than we did this time last year and REMEMBER the window is still open, then I worry for you. Who would you rather deal with if you were an SPFL club?

12.) 31 Jul 2018 11:12:36
We have looked better than the Invincibke year at times never mind last season. Just a couple more in defence and we will have the team that I think will get a couple of home wins in the CL at least.

Improve the defence and we move up a couple of levels. Eddy and Moussa leading the line will hurt any team. I can’t wait for them to be unleashed against the Loan Stars.

13.) 31 Jul 2018 12:59:47
I think it's a good deal. Hayes won't get much game time for us this season and Allan is good bait for luring McGinn. I'd rather have McGinn in the squad than both of them. Plus Hayes can do some damage against some of our rivals and take points which will help us cruise to 8IAR.

14.) 31 Jul 2018 15:04:22
Awrite bhoys. I have a old celtic vinyl from 1969. Side A the hole celtic squad doing we are celtic. Side b is Jimmy Johnstone doing passing time solo. Hoping to find a buyer. Original vinyl. NOT A COPY. Any1 interested please reply on banter page where my post is. ThankShe. Hail hail.

15.) 31 Jul 2018 15:11:08
Mcginn a quality player like.

16.) 02 Aug 2018 22:12:41
Hayes was never near Celtic quality it was a bit off a surprise buy.

22 Jun 2018 20:23:45
So the clear out continues with Jamie McCart and Joe Thomson leaving.
The squad is really being trimmed as Brendan said it would.

1.) 22 Jun 2018 21:06:58
They wernt really squad players jonbhoy . wish them both well as they both looked promisimg but never made the next level for whatever reason.

Just heard some year on sly sports news claim Goldson is a 9-10 million pound player. I was luck I was sitting down at the time.

1.) 27 Nov 2018 16:42:01
Crikey, that's a lot of weight to carry around.

2.) 27 Nov 2018 16:44:32
Thankfully I was lying doon when I read your post Jonbhoy71😂😂😂.

3.) 27 Nov 2018 22:46:03
Mini Mr T 15 million pounds . Tavaneir 10 million 😂😂Both have 19 appearances between them V Celtic. Games won = 0 Goals scored=0 .

10 Sep 2018 18:15:08
I see KT hasn't been picked for scotland. I just want to say THANK GOD.

1.) 10 Sep 2018 18:37:28
He Has?

2.) 10 Sep 2018 18:59:41
I saw a team where he hasn't sorry.

3.) 10 Sep 2018 23:47:13
Armstrong, Griffith's Forrest on bench. After seeing the line up I hope Callum and KT get subbed early.

07 Sep 2018 20:30:33
This is all we need. Boyata and wee Griff getting treated for an injury during this fecking meaningless game.

1.) 07 Sep 2018 20:58:40
At least Gordon is getting it out of his system . . . .

2.) 07 Sep 2018 22:05:52
Another pointless game! And another great result for big EBT eck! I would rather none of our players were picked to play for that shower a shoite! Roll on next weekend and back to games we actually give a toss about!

3.) 07 Sep 2018 23:44:38
Hard not to give an entire non-**** with Kieran, Cal, Lee and even our esteemed numero uno entailed, if only out of morbid curiosity.

But these are young Celts- they have aspirations- let's support them in that, no?

4.) 08 Sep 2018 10:51:24
hope he has exercised his ball playing deamons cavalcanti. Buy us some time.

31 Aug 2018 20:19:37
Are we done?
I would get rid of Dembelle now and get Shane Long in.

1.) 31 Aug 2018 20:26:18
One of 2 things have happened. Either it’s a sale and loan back which I can’t believe as Lyon want Moussa for CL or Moussa has told BR he won’t play again. According to the French papers, Moussa is on 100,00 Euro a week? Now I find that hard to believe but that’s the rumour. That being so, with CL opportunity, chance to shine in France and get into the national side, I don’t blame him. From our side, he has hamstring issues. If it goes wrong between now and Jan you won’t get £20mill.

2.) 31 Aug 2018 20:40:59
This is what i believe happened. The deal to sign Moussa was agreed at 11am. BR told Dembele during training that an agreement had been reached and Dembele went off to meet with his agent and Lyon officials. There was no falling out as reported. BR told him to go get changed as the deal in principle had been agreed. As of now nothing signed however it will go through.

3.) 31 Aug 2018 20:51:28
Shane long - honest to god you’d be as well just playing with 10 men

Guy is just absolutely 💩.

4.) 31 Aug 2018 20:57:46
Well you never seen the STV film Johnny his face was tripping him to the extent that he nearly fell over his tongue was pulled to the side and clearly told to beat it

He had spat the dummy and was sent inside and told he would not be considered for the weekend . BR spoke about of protecting the other players from the toxic element end of.

5.) 31 Aug 2018 21:06:38
It's either him or Ross McCormick! Ryan Christie can play as a striker and was Aberdeen's best player

Thought for a while now he would get a chance there . Happy to throw in a supporter that will burst his gut that obviously can play . Give him a chance (Y)

6.) 31 Aug 2018 21:20:03
Can’t even consider the idea of him in a Celtic shirt

England has had many over rated players and he’s a typical example. He wouldn’t score loads in our championship never mind us

Sorry - I’d rather stick with the two we have.

7.) 31 Aug 2018 21:58:28
I would have Wayne Biggins before long. Well, maybe not but you get the gist.

29 Aug 2018 01:28:04
Hi Ed
Just on SSN that Yaya Toure's agent said he has passed a medical with an unnamed club and will be joining them soon.
Is there any chance it is us?
Personally I think he would be outstanding up here.

{Ed007's Note - He wants to stay in England

1.) 29 Aug 2018 12:31:02
Yaya Toure is going to Olympiakos HH.

2.) 29 Aug 2018 12:40:47
