Bojan away to Mainz in Germany on loan. Another one scored off.

Just read the news a few people have been dreading. BR telling James Forrest he does have a future at Celtic and it is now up to his agent and the club to sort out a new contract for him.

NiallH

1.) 08 Aug 2016 06:35:12
He said it on live TV and so why people are ticking unbelievable is beyond me.

2.) 08 Aug 2016 11:06:46
Probably because they don't it to be true.

3.) 08 Aug 2016 12:04:34
The disagree button on here is a pile of mince. Reckon some people just do it automatically (cue the cunny funts)

4.) 08 Aug 2016 12:22:08
Has he not played well recently?

Let's see how he performs this season under BR as he may finally be a player worth keeping.

5.) 08 Aug 2016 13:05:41
Worth keeping imo played well in games this season scored yesterday and played 90 mins br knows who he needs and who he doesn't.

6.) 08 Aug 2016 14:53:29
I have been impressed by Forrest in the last few games but his consistency is the problem, if BR can get that from him I don't see any reason why we shouldn't give him a contract.

7.) 08 Aug 2016 15:17:55
Even if its just to sell him at the end of season rather than loose him in December for free.

8.) 08 Aug 2016 15:52:16
For rest has been putting on a crazy effort since the season started. I watched him bust a gut against Astana tracking back. This is the absolute minimum BR is requiring. It works too. For rest will need to consistently beat his man and find the cross as the end product. Personally I think he Wi lose interest or pick up an injury. From BRs point of view he came and was faced with these Euro qualifiers. What could he do but get them all on side till we get through this and then I am sure the new faces will arrive and certain people will go. He has done brilliantly so far man management wise.

9.) 08 Aug 2016 17:16:28
Back in the day I was a huge Forrest fan, if he can find form, sign him up.

10.) 08 Aug 2016 19:55:20
He played well yesterday to be fsir to him but he's been living off that Karagandy goal for 3 seasons now and you could count the number of times he's played well since on one hand. It reeks of playing for a new deal before he sinks back into injury and inconsistency.

11.) 09 Aug 2016 16:27:56
I think forrest is worth another season and unfortunately for that he requires a contract. I've been suprised by his effort under br although still think he drifts in and out of games.
It's a clean slate for me nobody was exactly pushing the boundaries under Rd so give everyone a shot.

Oh except efe, boyata and CG 😁.

11 Jan 2016 18:00:00
Rogic to Leeds starting to appear on a few sites. Talking about £1 million. Would you take that for him? Starting to show his worth but how far away is his next injury?

NiallH

1.) 11 Jan 2016 18:15:55
I'd be absolutely fuming if we sold him for that I think this bhoy can be something special!

2.) 11 Jan 2016 18:39:43
No chance, If the board sell him for that then they all need sacked.

3.) 11 Jan 2016 18:45:02
I would hope they would at least hold out for more. He's still young £1m is an insult if we was buying Rogic from Leeds they'd want about £4-5m for him!

4.) 11 Jan 2016 19:52:43
He's really come on this year. Wouldn't be chuffed if that happened.

5.) 11 Jan 2016 20:01:31
It's not even his next injury, he's only had a couple of good games in the SPL, and as usual fans are raving about him! He was poor in Europe and cost us a school boy goal! He's also only got just over a year on his contract and we don't know what he's asking for! It's the same as Scott Allan, he's done nothing except having 1 good season for Hibs! I'd prefer Rogic to GMS, but I'd prefer Mane to Rogic! We also have Christie who is a left footed no 10 type! We need quality down the spine! Centre half, holding midfield, and a real no 9 to play with/ compete with Griffiths! Commons has also been awful this year, and I'd happily let him leave!

6.) 11 Jan 2016 20:08:23
Sorry I meant to say £1.5/ £2 million would probably be fair for Rogic! I'd prefer more, and I'd be happy if he stayed but none of our players are that good that they're unsaleable! I'd take £10 million for Biton in a heartbeat, he's good but doesn't put himself about enough, dominate enough, especially being 6'5". Rogic is also a little like that, for someone at 6'2" he is also a little lightweight. I've said it before, this is the softest Celtic team I have seen in 30 years!

7.) 11 Jan 2016 20:40:50
Just to justify that - I don't mean I'm happy for us to sell our best players, only that they should be truly judged in Europe, not the SPL! Also selling players isn't the problem, the problem is we don't replace them with quality! We replace them with more projects, putting us back 2 years or whatever! I have to say though that the players we have been linked with this window sound better! I'd be happy with Mane, the Croation midfielder, a striker and an aggressive centre half! Mocinic and Mane are young but they are pretty experienced!

8.) 11 Jan 2016 22:16:16
I wouldn't sell him for as little as that but I think with the midfielders we already have at the club and being linked with more we should at least consider offers for ANY of the guys we already have at the club.

9.) 12 Jan 2016 08:00:38
Couldn't care how much he goes for. Chances are he won't be replaced.

10.) 12 Jan 2016 16:28:01
I wouldn't want to see him leave, especially for £1m. He's been one of the only positives about this season so far, keeping free of injury and getting a few goals. If he keeps it up he'll reach double figures from midfield. Stefan Johansen on the other hand hasn't kicked his arse all season, his first good game was Sunday. I'd genuinely have Rogic (or Armstrong) instead of him until he gives himself a massive shake.

11.) 12 Jan 2016 16:48:57
If he continues the way he has been progressing then we will have a very stable squad player for us. Still a few parts of is game are missing but 1m? If true leeds can get to #.

12.) 12 Jan 2016 18:05:20
Does it matter how much we get for a player if it is not going to be reinvested on a like for like manner? Same applies to CL. If money is not going to be reinvested, then monetary values mean nothing.

13.) 12 Jan 2016 22:08:38
DN30

We are never going to be able to replace a Forster with another England international keeper or a VVD with a Dutch international centre-back probably because Dundee United don't have either!!

Seriously though we do have to start investing in key positions. Why are we being linked with more midfielders when we all know we are weak in every position but that?

08 Jan 2015 21:34:37
On Celtic rumours Now and that we are looking at ex-Hibs striker Eoin Doyle. Hope not.

NiallH

1.) 08 Jan 2015 22:32:01
I hope not think this is the worst target we have been linked with in a long time I have no idea what deila is thinking am not looking forward to the rest of this month. If like Armstrong and Gudetti on a permenent deal and possibly a CB I'd be happy and am telling you's all now we will lose out on GMS because they will penny pinch they could have him if they wanted in celtics defence united out of order wanting 2million for someone who's contract is up in the summer.

2.) Sam,
I think you are talking pish regarding the £2million fee. GMS will be sold if anyone offers £0.5million in my opinion as never mind Dundee Utd Celtic would sell any player in January for£0.5 million if they were out of contract in the summer for free unless they knew there was still a chance of keeping them on ie Kris Commons do you think for one minute Celtic would not sell Commons if they thought they had a chance of him staying? I think not. Now I am a Celtic supporter the same as most people on here but at the end of the day and sadly so it is now a business and because of that the hopes and dreams of all Celtic supporters is now secondary to the business model.
Hail Hail Celtic 'til I die.
A.S.

3.) Did Celtic not sign Gary Hooper who had scored less goals than Eoin Doyle has scored in the same division?
Now I know it didn't work out for him at Hibs but he played as a lone striker a lot of the time in a pish poor Hibs team so don't be so quick to condemn him. I do however think Celtic should be looking at players of a much higher profile than Doyle to appease the fans and to convince them that the club has indeed got some f$%k!~g ambition instead of being a cash cow for the effing money grabbing shareholders who are not interested in Celtic for the right reasons.
Perhaps the money grabbing bar stewards want to look into the history of the club and see why it was formed in the first place.
Rant Over. and OVER.
A.S.

4.) Eoin Doyle could be a good signing for us, I think he is a late developer and could score a lot of goals for us .
If Celtic want GMS, they will get him for
£300/400k.

5.) Doyle is in league 1 hooper was in the championship and got relegated when we signed him

6.) 09 Jan 2015 21:39:12
Difference being gunnie Doyle has been tested in spfl and failed, griffths played for same club and was a success and still struggles to get a game, is Doyle going to be no.1 striker at £1.5 that's a dear sub, will he play scepovic and Doyle together and completely change formation? I have deliberately left guidetti out as doesn't look like he will be here come summer

03 Aug 2014 23:19:07
Matthews to Swansea for £3 million. Swansea in for him as asking price for Kyle Naughton from Spurs too high.

Although our board will likely give 250k for a replacement I would personally take that amount as he is always injured.

NiallH

1.) 04 Aug 2014 08:52:30
This is now become a case of asset stripping. We are selling of anybody worth there weight season after season. What will be left of the club that so many of us love.

2.) If Celtic get £3m for Matthews then take it . The question I would like to know is . How much money HAVE CELTIC TUCKED AWAY . £30 m est . What u think ed?

3.) Dth100

We have plenty of cover there so a no-brainer to sell him if that kind of money is offered especially with his injury record.

We could maybe spend some of the profit on a left back, centre half or we could put it in the bank and have a nice healthy balance sheet with the added bonus of a a poor team on the park!

I had

Caldwell

And the Twardzik who actually played a game for us.

Looks like all were covered in the answers.

09 Dec 2016 23:50:47
Another impressive performance tonight.

What is great for me is the players coming in are all taking their chance. I reckon that is 5 first XI out tonight, Simunovic, KT, Forrest, Sinclair and Dembele yet we still played well. Last season we couldn't even get the first XI playing well.

NiallH

{Ed007's Note - And yet we won the league.... Our 5th in a row.}

1.) 10 Dec 2016 19:57:32
Some Celtic fans can't praise Celtic without ridiculing at the same time .
No matter how bad player selection has been in the past we seem to be able to win most games this season with almost the whole team here before Brendan.

{Ed007's Note - When you qualify for the CL windfall, Chris, domestic trophies pale into insignificance. Rumours are that the Club has been inundated with requests for Brendan Rodgers and Scott Brown to parade round Celtic Park with an oversized cheque of the CL money, some supporters supposedly said it would be the biggest buzz at CP in years.}

31 Aug 2016 20:23:42
Seems like we are settling for the league and a 4th place finish in our CL group.

Overall quite happy with the business done in the window but like we all predicted the outgoings have held us back a bit. I would have liked to see a few more go but with a few in the last year of their contract (Izaguirre, Ambrose, Commons) it is going to be a 2 or 3 windows before we see a real BR team.

NiallH

1.) 31 Aug 2016 20:38:04
Sad times when transfer deadline day and tomorrow back pages are going to be covered with "Send a dross" on them!

2.) 31 Aug 2016 20:57:07
Heard a few people say now Emilio should move on but would that not leave KT in same position as him with nobody challenging him for same position? Thoughts?

3.) 31 Aug 2016 21:59:22
4th place in CL before a ball has even been kicked? Jees.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 22:00:59
I don't see the point in moving him on now but I also don't see the point in giving him an extension next Summer to play second fiddle to Tierney.

28 Aug 2016 11:29:12
Good points from yesterday another 4 goals shared around the team and late goals too. Last few season we never looked sharp in the last 20 so great to see that the team look a bit fitter.

Main point is McInnes at Aberdeen. Can anyone tell me if he has ever complimented us on beating them? The guy is full on excuses. 2 decisions went against us, yes when you were already 2-1 down. The squad were suffering from a sickness bug, yes but didn't you play Motherwell in exactly the same circumstances last season and blow it? Plus that was near enough your strongest team. The guy is an absolute balloon.

NiallH

1.) 28 Aug 2016 11:47:34
It's exactly what you expect from Slug2. The guy is as bitter as the North Sea wind in January and long may we continue to make him and his mutton molesters 'bleat'.

2.) 28 Aug 2016 12:15:26
Just shows a lack of class.

I will be interested to see how bitter he is if Sevco take points off them.

3.) 28 Aug 2016 12:46:36
We still managed to win many games late under Rd, Kilmarnock with the rogic goal n big Virgil's winner in the 2 1 game up at the sheeps den when we were down to 10 men to name a few. People seem to forget history.
It also helps that we are now signing a better calibre of player, and lawell isn't saying who comes in and who goes.
As for McInnes I don't even listen or read his comments, he's just bitter and a sad little sevco supporter/ sympathiser however our nearest rivals were firmly put in their place yesterday so I'm sure he was heartbroken the little slug.
Hail hail.

4.) 28 Aug 2016 15:06:52
The Aberdeen moaner said that they went down to 10 men which always happens at Celtic Park . m
This was the first time Aberdeen went down to ten men at C P since he became manager.

5.) 28 Aug 2016 16:25:40
Bigshaw

Here are the facts and only the ones that cost something in Europe or points. Not the late ones to pull it back to 2 or 3-1 in league games.

2014/ 15

Legia away 4-1. 84 and 91
Maribor 0-1. 75
Salzburg 2-2. 78
Astra 1-1. 79
Inter 1-0. 88

2015/ 16

Killie 2-2. 88
Aberdeen 2-1. 86
Hearts 2-2. 90
St Johnstone 2-1. 77
Malmo 3-2. 95
Ajax 2-2. 84
Ajax 1-2. 88.

18 Aug 2016 18:02:19
I was having a think about the last 4 home games and although we won the last 2 convincingly it is great to see the goals being shared about and a goal threat coming from more than just 1 player.

Dembele, Griffiths, Rogic, Sinclair, Brown, Roberts and Lustig all scoring.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 or 4 of the midfielders getting into double figures which would be amazing.

NiallH

1.) 19 Aug 2016 13:29:46
Agree think PR SS TR should all easily get double figures and JF needs to work more on end product and goals as that's why most fans had lost patience with him.

I would say that we have Griffiths as a backup but he seems to have taken over Derk Boerrigter's medical bed. He has been out injured quite a few times this season and can't be relied on like he was last season.

That was the point of the post. We are trying to build a squad, not sell one.

With Commons and Efe probably after some kind of pay-off to go 6 months early it will probably be just as expensive to keep them.

Izzy will also be required for cover.

No danger we will sell the others.

Looks we are losing nearly a full team over the next 24 hours of the papers are right.

Gordon to Chelsea
Izzy to Leeds
Efe to Hibs
Simunovic to Crystal Palace or Sunderland
Dembele to half the EPL
Commons to Hibs
Sviachenko to Leicester
Tierney to Sunderland

What an amazing point you raise.

Let's take the power from ONE MAN who is accountable and give the decision to ONE MAN in a room (video ref) who is unknown and not accountable for a decision?

Clearly didn't think that through as the video ref could be Dallas or Madden and I wonder what decision they would make in the last minute of a Celtic Vs Sevco game and Miller falls in the box?

I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't get any more players in during this window.

For the first time in years we have players who can come in and do a job when first team regulars are out. Remember that Dembele, Griffiths, Rogic and Armstrong were missing on Sunday and we beat a team in the top 6 by 4 goals while limiting them to 1 shot on target while resting 2 of our best back 4 (Lustig and Sviachenko) .

It either called "playing to the masses" or "desperation".

We all know what clubs this clown supports so I wouldn't expect any less. Said "clubs" intentionally!
