Ange's update on the Greek:

“The scan came back actually more positive than we thought so we’re hoping he’ll get back into training this week, If Giakoumakis gets a full week of training we’re quite hopeful for next weekend. ” HH.

22 Sep 2021 18:26:12
Kyogo is back in basic training but not training with the first team squad.
I suspect it'll be a while before we see him taking the field again. HH.

1.) 23 Sep 2021 10:31:49
I said something similar on the podcast recently besty. If the injury keeps him out for 3 or 4 weeks he will be another week or 2 building back up his fitness before available. Guy has been a big loss.

17 Jul 2021 20:44:28
STARFELT INCOMING! HH.

1.) 17 Jul 2021 23:30:14
Forster linked again to, same rubbish different transfer window next Roberts will be 🤦🏼‍♂️.

2.) 18 Jul 2021 09:05:23
Take forster in a heart beat even on his worst day he's better than the 2 we've got.

3.) 18 Jul 2021 11:47:06
Good news indeed bestybhoy, we need a DEFENSE and Starfelt should prove a good start.

Mally, Forster is better than the 3 we've got!

Personally I'd like to see us bring in a new No.1 and back up keepers and get shot of Barkas and Bain.

4.) 18 Jul 2021 12:05:38
Big Forster is renowned for being glued to his line. Would he suit Big Ange style of football. If we are looking at a new goalkeeper would prefer one that can play the system and is committed to Celtic.

5.) 18 Jul 2021 12:40:00
Rodgers never had a keeper capable of playing his system bar a small run in the team dur Bain. We done alright then.

6.) 18 Jul 2021 14:29:17
He may have his faults most do but he'd be the best keeper up here by a distance.

7.) 18 Jul 2021 17:17:48
I really don’t care that he never came last summer, fact is if he comes we improve by 10-15%.
Time to make him a priority permanent signing.
I’d happily use a large portion of incoming Ajer fee to make it happen.

8.) 18 Jul 2021 17:51:40
Never really get (i don't care what they did brigade) .
Forster, Griffiths, Ntcham the list goes on but people forgive the way they treated us in the past.
Feck everyone of them it's a privilege to wear the hoops. We shouldn't be bending over backwards to accommodate people who have treated us poorly in the past.

9.) 18 Jul 2021 18:40:45
Sick to the back teeth of this Forster nonsense last season and now again this window…… bottom line is Forster was fantastic for us, he had the opportunity to come back last season and bought into the 💩 his parents club fed him about pushing for No1 and ended up spending new at of last season on the bench…… this season his club are again feeding him the same 💩. If Forster wants to earn his £100k wage seeingnout his career with his ass on the bench good luck to him. Is that the type of guy we really want between the sticks? If he wants to come he will it’s that simple but I can see his ass warming the bench again doon there this season.

10.) 18 Jul 2021 18:43:41
We let a better goalkeeper go to Hearts.

07 Jul 2021 18:24:21
Celtic are on the lookout for a First Team Recruitment Analyst after the job listing appeared on a specialist recruitment website.
I'm guessing this is a replacement of sorts for Nick Hammond who resigned from his role at the end of March. It's a responsible role for sure but why on earth have they not approached someone they already are aware of with the relevant experience?
And why have they not done it long before now? HH.

1.) 07 Jul 2021 19:31:45
Maybe the club thought what they had in place would be sufficient and the manager has seen their work and said its not good enough?

{Ed007's Note - Jay Lefevre is the Head of Scouting Operations, the First Team Recruitment Analyst - a new position at the Club - will work under him.}

2.) 07 Jul 2021 19:51:24
It's an analytics role the clue is in the title. An important facet for me but it's not as senior a position as somebody like Hammond.

3.) 07 Jul 2021 20:12:11
JimTim, the functions of the job suggest it's a whole lot more than some geezer sitting in front of a laptop. HH.

4.) 07 Jul 2021 20:43:26
So a positive in us expanding our scouting base.

5.) 07 Jul 2021 21:12:22
Yes Ken, but why the delay? We knew things weren't good since Lenny left and it needed an overhaul.
Here we are in July and now we're asking the question. HH.

6.) 07 Jul 2021 21:39:27
I’m confident we will see changes I don’t think Ange is the type to lie, his intrerviews are well presented and I actually believe in what he’s trying to do here. There will be plenty of work going on in the background scouting and offering deals etc.

7.) 07 Jul 2021 22:15:15
Ken, I'm sure there are but this is a strategic position.
My question is why has it taken until July to look for someone?
Did we not think this was a good idea 3 months ago? Or is this a new approach in the world of football that was invented yesterday?
All the big clubs have been on it for quite a few years but here we are, hustling about trying to think of new ideas. HH.

8.) 08 Jul 2021 10:28:19
You're spot on bestybhoy.

{Ed007's Note - Pedro, how can you look for someone to fill a position that didn't exist? Everyone was delighted when McKay spoke about modernising the Club, now a week after he took over and he's started doing it people are asking why it took so long, yeah because SEVEN days is just soooooo long to get things moving. #McKayOut

9.) 08 Jul 2021 10:55:25
Maybe you should ask bestybhoy, he made the point 👉.

10.) 08 Jul 2021 11:07:29
We want change right now ED! No time to wait, right now. The club are doing well at the moment that’s how I see it. Transfer window opened 8 days ago in reality and everyone’s already freaking out. Listen to the manager and what he says. Too many negatives nowadays lol.

11.) 08 Jul 2021 14:37:31
Sums up this window to a tee when the talk is about getting recruitment people in. Ange should be look8ng at 0layers he wants within our budget and Dom gets them. Two weeks have passed since he said he, wanted them in yesterday, and so far, it's a free from Sheff Wed. It's truly remarkable how long it takes our board to do anything. Have they learned nothing? Right now it seems that way. We need players for the CL or it's the old back four of Ralston, Bitton, Taylor and Welsh. Even writing that gives me the fear. Come on Dom four or five in the next couple if days please.

12.) 09 Jul 2021 10:21:42
Our club should have been on this a long time ago and I'm not talking about the last 7 days or 10 days or whatever, I'm talking about the last 5 years or more because various sources of all or most of the required info has been available.
All the big clubs have been doing it for ages and perhaps it's an example of one of many important cogs missing from a machine that needs to be highly maintained.
The fact it's being addressed now IS a positive development if a bit later in the game than it needed to be. HH.

07 Jul 2021 11:47:41
Media reports suggesting that we have EXTENDED Ntcham's contract by another year. HH.

1.) 07 Jul 2021 13:52:28
Big Ange will obviously want to scrutinize and select what he thinks is his best squad and as they say - everyone deserves a 2nd chance. However, many supporters will have either severe doubts or at the very least, mixed feelings about quite a few after last season. Obviously we have to trust his opinion and judgement with the new season about to start and little new business being done so far?

2.) 07 Jul 2021 17:06:19
bestybhoy, could be a good move for a couple of reasons. (1) Ange might be able to get some performances out of him to get his price up (2) prevents him signing a pre contract elsewhere and leaving for nothing.

3.) 07 Jul 2021 17:20:15
Pedro I think your spot on about the pre contact. I hope he doesn’t play for us again so a fee would be great.

4.) 07 Jul 2021 17:33:11
Agreed Malika.

In the words of Jimmy Greaves, 'Football's a funny old game'.
Shane Duffy again today was outstanding against Norwich. Yes they're a poor side but they're still a PL team and it isn't his first outstanding performance this season yet you could count on 2 fingers how many times he was good for us all last season.
So many factors influenced how we played last season and we didn't have too many players who scored pass marks over the course but he was definitely one of our worst performers yet his game has improved drastically since he went back to Brighton.
I wouldn't want him back though, that ship has sailed for both parties. HH.

1.) 16 Oct 2021 18:48:45
It was a shame how Shane’s Celtic career didn’t work out.
We could all tell it was a dream come true for him to wear the hoops but unfortunately he will be embarrassed with the majority of his displays.
Duffy however tried his best and he can always say, he scored on his Celtic debut, scored for Celtic at Celtic Park and he was also part of the Celtic team that secured a historical Quadruple Treble.
I hope he continues to do well for both Brighton and Ireland.

2.) 16 Oct 2021 19:32:08
We all go through the good and bad times in life some more than others. Shane went through a lot in his short time at Celtic and I'm so happy the big guy has his Mojo back. Bless?.

3.) 16 Oct 2021 22:16:47
Well said lads.

23 Sep 2021 21:38:10
Scales was decent tonight when he came on. Big plus for the lad, well done. A bit disappointed we didn't see the Greek since Ajeti was offering very little.
Overall decent performance and good to get the win but we're still lacking from midfield forward. HH.

23 Sep 2021 19:24:04
I see we're still using Parks of Hamilton for the match day coaches. HH.

1.) 23 Sep 2021 19:39:59
I’m beginning to think Celtic are getting them for free.
Why else would we continue to fill Big Dougie’s boots.
There’s a fleet of his buses that leave Celtic Park, when we play games at Hampden.
Celtic should have our own bus anyway.

2.) 23 Sep 2021 19:46:17
Agree we should have our own bus BuzzBomb, ala Madrid and Barca, oh, and a couple of players from each of them on loan ???.

3.) 24 Sep 2021 09:09:17
Lads it's contract with them. We will see if we renew it.

4.) 24 Sep 2021 09:14:03
buzz i use to work for parks and i heard they do get them for free as parks see it as good advertisement.

19 Sep 2021 17:05:48
Shocking today.
Yes it's a bad pitch to play on but that's not an acceptable excuse. And it's not an over-reaction either.
3 home wins and 3 away defeats out of 6 league games so far this season.
Big chance today to get back up with the leaders and we blew it. Again! HH.

1.) 19 Sep 2021 17:14:49
are we any better than last season and yes i know we have a new ream of players to gel but that was dire.

2.) 19 Sep 2021 17:27:58
We are far too predictable, teams have us sussed out already.

16 Sep 2021 20:53:31
We keep signing players who aren't fit or who aren't match fit. We do it all the time and I can't understand why.
If you're a club buying a player then you should reasonably expect him to come in and be ready to play. What's wrong with that principle? Why are we signing injured players or players who can't kick a ball?
McCarthy and Giakoumakis are perfect examples.
What good are they to the club if they can't play in important games like tonight? HH.

1.) 16 Sep 2021 21:04:30
Probably because some of them players have been on holiday while the season was out.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 21:35:34
I read that McCarthy was out of action for 16 days with C. V.
He couldn’t train and he’s still recovering.
I did mention at the weekend Besty, that we should’ve signed a couple of good young Scottish players who are fit and ready for action.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 21:42:45
During a summer of total re-organization and reconstruction it was unwise to gamble on these unfit, unready players, especially when several signings were also being hampered with self-isolation and work-permit issues. I know the injuries didn't help, but although there are positive signs, we are making things harder for ourselves.

4.) 16 Sep 2021 21:43:51
Buzz, we should only be signing players who are ready. Players who are working on their fitness are neither use nor ornament for us. There's no point in our club claiming that players are injured or not match fit, we should have a depth in the squad to deal with that.
We signed 12 (? ) in the window and we still can't produce a settled side and that's a poor return for the effort that was put in. HH.

Fair comment Mally. What if he turns out to be another Rafael Scheidt?
Damn, that's got to be the worst surname ever for a footballer, especially when they live up to it in the way he did! lol.

Buzz I'd be very open to any potential investor if it means they have a progressive and sustainable plan for our club. The current board don't seem to have the same sense of ambition that the fans would like. Having said that, some fans still think we should still be competing for the Champions League trophy every season so there has to be a great deal of realism from all parties. HH.

Interesting Buzz but we always seem to concede more than we score. It's little consolation in the grand scheme of things. HH.

Jonbhoy, as always, a story gets punted and there are thousands who take it as fact and a done deal, and then are disappointed when it doesn't happen even though there was possibly never any substance in it to begin with. Nisbet might well end up moving from Hibs but whether it's Celtic or elsewhere I have no idea.
Griff has always been his own worst enemy. Bags of talent and one of our best instinctive strikers for manys a year. Obviously Hibs are 'his team' but if he can't apply himself at the biggest club in the country then you'd have to question whether he can produce it there and I think they'd be having that same discussion themselves. HH.

When I were a lad we were always told to hit a penalty firm or hard into any of the 4 corners of the goal. If you hit the target the keeper will rarely get to it. HH.

Giakoumakis hasn't played a full game since May. He didn't have a pre-season for VVV Venlo because of his potential move elsewhere.
He has been here long enough to make up for that downtime and it's up to him to show that he has what we need. HH.
