That wee lassie Jacynta has signed for Sporting in Portugal.
Starfelt will be on his way soon too if any of the Portuguese clubs pay the cash. HH.

You really think someone will jump ship like that after going out with someone for 3 months? Maybe a premier league team. London I’d think.

I think it would cause unwanted unrest with our supporters.
I’ve noticed a much better relationship, with our fans and the Celtic board since Peter left the club.
He should enjoy his retirement.

Perhaps my week isn't as bad as I thought it was. lol

Sounds good Bestybhoy ?

Ajeti going to Strum Graz is key, if I had to guess I'd say McCarthy and Johnson are next to go.

Another superb window whatever happens in the next 24hrs, great work by Ange and Nicholson ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

2.) 31 Aug 2022 22:32:55
I'm thinking Johnston and Bain.

3.) 31 Aug 2022 22:44:18
Just give Ange the keys to the place ?.

4.) 31 Aug 2022 23:06:15
According to boys on KDS it's Oliver Abdilgaard from Kazan.6"4 Danish DM.

5.) 01 Sep 2022 00:45:33
Great performance apart from Sterfelt and Ienz. both looked nowhere near it. We need another CB. Heard the rumours about the Danish guy, watched his clips, nothing spectacular and he looks ungainly. Sead tonight looked the absolute dogs. But for me it’s always our defence that is suspect and it still is. Woeful at their goal. That for me could and probably will be our undoing in the CL. . Only CCV and Taylor looking good. Mid to front brilliant, but our defence just isn’t good enough, or anywhere near as good as it needs to be for me. Sterfelt is not the answer and Jenz tonight looked not much better. Sterfelt, Welsh and Jenz no better than back up. I hope we sign a CB tomorrow, it’s vital. We won’t but I pray we do.

6.) 01 Sep 2022 03:15:24
Would vvd do well still concede in CL if so.

7.) 01 Sep 2022 03:37:45
A take it you don't fancy the defence magic ?.

8.) 01 Sep 2022 08:12:31
I don’t at all. It will be enough domestically but in the CL. I can’t see it. Like s all I have endured pathetic defensive blunders in Europe and my fear is all the other great work will be undone by Ange not sorting it. One weak link is enough and we have three, with Barney looking also suspect at defending. I hope we get away with it but we won’t. Especially if Sterfelt plays. Jenz shocked me last night how poor he was. Why is it a Lord Lucan in that we have never in my life found a great defence, not even close. must be a spell on us because it defies probability.

9.) 01 Sep 2022 08:29:53
My guess is the one coming in will be reid.

10.) 01 Sep 2022 09:04:12
Magic pole I get the sites about opinions buddy but I just don’t get the negativity. Celtic have conceded 2 goals in over 540 minutes of competitive football so far. Yea both have been against Ross County and a bit route oneish but not every team plays that way. They weren’t great goals but hopefully we learn from it. We’re always going to concede and someone will always have been able to stop it happening. But that’s football.

For the first time in a couple of decades we actually look really dangerous from our own set pieces too.

We’re in a great position. What a window it’s been. Most people have been crying out for a midfield enforcer and the Danish guy seems to fit the bill ideally. Not worried about him looking a bit gainly he’s a 6ft 4 enforcer. He’s hardly going to be dancing about the midfield like messi. His defensive stats look frighteningly good though but only time will tell.

11.) 01 Sep 2022 09:33:00
We will always be tested much more in Europe and I agree the defense will be up against a different class of team and players. However, the progress and improvement we have made in such a short time must stand for something and these CL games will be a great challenge.

12.) 01 Sep 2022 13:17:49
I personally think our players have a couple of gears yet and they will up their game in CL. I am not convinced we have had a better team front to back in a long time. We have to accept we will be tested more in Europe because the best players are not in Scotland but our front players will test the best teams. No matter what we did this summer there was always going to be some negativity. 9 players in what else can club do, they've given Ange what he's asked for. I for one am optimistic.

13.) 01 Sep 2022 16:26:31
Magic pole starman cleared up tons I was at the game thought he did great he right in the thick of things.

He's not perfect but his defence imo is good he puts his head in there and gets stuck in.
He owned fletcher utd dame let's be honest fletcher not to bad.

14.) 01 Sep 2022 16:27:41
jenz and the young argie were poor and have a long way to go before the could be regular starters, hope taylor stays healthy. rest of the team looked really good with a great attitude.

15.) 01 Sep 2022 18:58:02
This CL Group should prove interesting.

Some might not agree but IMO, we have no right to expect wins against Madrid as they're on a different level to us in a multitude of ways.

We can though, I believe, compete with both Shaktar and Leipzig although every game at this level is tough and a learning curve.

I'm really hoping that Ange has learned the lessons of our defeats in Europe last season and given the new signings we've made, added to the players who've been here for the past 12 months gelling, we should be better placed than we were this time last year.

I have no doubt we will dominate domestically which in turn means we can get another cracking at the CL.

Let's enjoy the ride.

☘️ ? ☘️.

JK linked with the managerial vacancy at FC Midtjylland?
It may be true and it may not, we'll find out soon enough.
I'd be sad to see him go but I'm sure a departure will be music to the ears of those who gave him dog's abuse a couple of seasons ago. HH.

Bestybhoy

1.) 09 Aug 2022 10:38:17
And ange rates him so we could do without this.

2.) 09 Aug 2022 16:15:08
At this point, I'd be more than happy to see JK go out on his own, served the club admirably during his time, especially when the rat and co left, and we're in a much more stable position than when he was last linked away.

3.) 09 Aug 2022 20:49:07
brumbhoy
Had you thought that perhaps we're in a good position partly because he's still with us?
Would you not like to see that continue?
If he has ambition elsewhere and gets the chance to chase it then fair enough. I'd love him to stay. HH.

4.) 10 Aug 2022 07:08:39
Yeah 100% however I have faith in ange to bring someone else in who can fulfill the same role if JK does choose to leave.

The Green Brigade absent for Jamesy's testimonial in their protest to Rodgers coming back.
Nice move lads, well done. If you can't honour one of our greatest players ever then you should be banned forever. Feckin shame on you all! HH.

Bestybhoy

{Ed007's Note - How do you know it's a protest against Rodgers return? What were they protesting when they weren't there for Scott Brown's testimonial?}

1.) 01 Aug 2023 20:27:03
Mark, what other reason do you think they have?
Are they all working overtime this evening?
Stop being an apologist for their shyt behaviour. HH.

{Ed007's Note - As I said, there is more than the GB in that section, where are all the rest of the fans that aren't part of the GB? Where are The Bhoys ultra's group tonight?
Where are you?}

2.) 01 Aug 2023 20:29:27
So enlighten me why aren’t they there if it’s not against Rogers? They buy the tickets out then don’t go… absolutely pathetic I hope they are proud of themselves not turning up for one of celtics greatest servants . If they had no intention of going don’t buy the tickets and let families go I’m sure the kids would love to have been able to stand there.

{Ed007's Note - So you know the GB bought tickets then didn't go because they don't want Rodgers as manager? Are you actually being serious? ?????

3.) 01 Aug 2023 21:16:18
Or is it like larssons pay day? The fans don't go to pay what the board promises in contracts or bonuses?

{Ed007's Note - You will go to the bad fire for bringing that up, Del!!!! ?

4.) 01 Aug 2023 21:59:46

5.) 02 Aug 2023 11:23:17
I was at the game with my youngest last night and even though there were very few in the standing section, there were young bhoys getting the opportunity to start some of the chants and songs whilst facing the rest of the north curve. Highlight for me was when we did the huddle and the athletic fans joined in.

Unknown Welsh Yuki Bernabei
O’Riley Iwata Turnbull
Forrest Oh Vata.

3.) 12 Jul 2023 20:33:13
I think it finished goalless with Celtic having a goal disallowed.
I also seen a different lineup to the one I posted above.

Celtic play the same Portuguese club on Saturday morning behind closed doors.

My Son arrived in Japan today and he will be at the match in Yokohama next week.

08 Jul 2023 20:06:10
We have a few quid to spend.
Do we need a marquee signing (or 2) as well as a few others?
I think we do. HH.

Bestybhoy

1.) 08 Jul 2023 20:29:39
It's not necessarily a marquee signing however I did think we would have done a bit more by now.
I seriously thought we needed 4 or 5 starters.
And yes I know there's plenty of time but we have been really proactive at the start of windows and we really need could do with a few in before we go into the practice games.

2.) 09 Jul 2023 08:52:42
Although we are cash rich at the moment, the advantage that brings can quickly vanish if it is not invested wisely.

Take Ajeti and Barkas for example. Both players cost us a significant transfer fee and I suspect both were on a high wage. However, both players flopped and because they are on a high wage, it is extremely difficult to get rid of them because the clubs who would take them can't afford their wages. This leaves us with two options, we can terminate their contract early and try and negotiate a pay off, that would be less than the wages we would pay or keep paying their wages until the end of their contract and hope you can loan them out to a club who will pay some of their wages.

As you can see, neither option is ideal, as we lose money either way and get a terrible return on our investment.

If we come back to the large warchest we have available. If we start spending on big transfer fees and even higher wages, while we might increase the chances of getting a better calibre player, we also increase the risk of losing bigger sums of money if the signing does not work out for one reason or another. Which makes doing our due diligence even more important.

Let me conclude, I am not saying don't spend or don't try and get higher calibre players in. I am saying we need to do even more research into a players background, off field antics, temperament, likelihood to settle abroad, work ethic and suitability for our team before we sign them.

3.) 09 Jul 2023 10:22:27
My belief is that we should always seek to improve and that includes replacing any quality that leaves with similar or better.
We are coming off the back of an historic treble and anything less would be seen as a backward step. However, our European reputation has slipped considerably since the MON and WGS days and therefore, the target must be to recruit players that can perform at that level while maintaining the domestic dominance that we currently hold.

4.) 09 Jul 2023 10:56:56
What is this nonsense of a marquee signing,?, is it the equivalent of the medallion man?, oh look at us we have a marquee signing, we need quality signings, we need to be scouting young, quality players, developing them into great players, and then selling them on to some other smuck who is looking for a marquee signing.

5.) 09 Jul 2023 11:59:04
The idea aindoh is that continuously signing players to develop doesn't really take you forward. A marquee signing, for ke anyway, is a player that is probably a top earner and walks in the side. Which, to do better in Europe, we could do with a few, mixed in with the young squad we already have.

6.) 09 Jul 2023 12:08:53
Jota was a marquee signing who also made Celtic a big profit.

7.) 09 Jul 2023 14:35:41
We need 2/ 3 players that are going to excel the squad. That is all.

8.) 09 Jul 2023 15:30:19
I don't like the term 'Marquee signing' but I understand what people want when they write it. A seasoned professional who can fit straight into the team. Not a youngster or a 'project' but someone who will hit the ground running and move the team forward.

9.) 09 Jul 2023 16:53:17
aindoh, cool your jets. We need quality players not fekkin projects especially if we're hoping to get some traction in Europe. HH.

10.) 09 Jul 2023 17:30:49
I would say that Joe Harte was a, so called marquee signing, has he taken us forward in Europe,?, I would have rather we had signed a quality goalkeeper rather than one that used to have a big reputation.

11.) 09 Jul 2023 20:05:23
OK aindoh. Keep on believing what you believe. HH.

12.) 09 Jul 2023 21:14:29
Joe Hart a marquee signing ??. Do you actually post anything other than trolling, you remind me off old man chris with your posts.

13.) 09 Jul 2023 23:04:34
Exactly Buzz, Jota was a young quality player that we scouted and improved and sold on for the Saudi's to buy as a marquee signing.

14.) 10 Jul 2023 09:56:14
It’s very easy to buy £8 - £10 m defenders and midfielders. but after a yr we will know whether they were the players we hoped he would be or young players flattering to deceive . Jota and CCV were good value for money, and we knew that because we had them on loan for a year . Would we be better taking players of that price list on loan? Or would their clubs not want that.

15.) 10 Jul 2023 14:56:43
I am not bothered about a ( marquee) signing but we do need one or three players in still for me a no nonsense midfielder and a new goalkeeper would be a must.

16.) 10 Jul 2023 22:01:28
@Dc7591, he's a nob. Please forgive him for his weird rants. HH.

Jonbhoy71, for some halfwits that still wouldn't be enough.
They'd want Paradise knocked down and rebuilt, the hoops to become stripes, the grass to be greener, the ticket prices reduced to a quid a game and the food to be free when they're at a game.
And if they got all of that then they'd find something else to grumble about. HH.
