John Collins putting his name in the hat for DOF, I think he would do a good job but a lot probably wouldn't be happy.

John Collins would be a disaster he comes across as arrogant. Its a big NO for me.

Jonbhoy, Collins would cost us two wages; one for him and the other for his EGO.

I'll pass.

Moyes getting linked with a contact from celtic?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It's a different name every hour via various outlets and these 'sources' are hoping they can guess correctly, in amongst umpteen other speculated 'exclusives' before we announce our new manager.
Personally, I would have hoped that with the way the season spiraled downwards since October, DD would have made his move some weeks ago.
Like the rest of us, I'm just waiting and hoping it's the right man?
Of course whoever he is will not please everyone.

He had said he had been approached about 4 times in the past but he said no, and he came out last week saying he wanted to stay at West Ham.

Thought it was Keane we were getting, his we smile after he said we'll bounce back I thought was telling.

Jonbhoy Keane as manager divides the support, however I reckon if he was here this season instead of Lennon we wouldn't of been woeful this season.

He done well with Sunderland getting them promoted from one of hardest leagues in world and done all he could at Ipswich, a team that is at most bottom half championship side.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sunderland were in 18th place when he took over and the won the league that same year - even Brendan couldn't win that league.}

08 Mar 2021 20:32:57
Moyes has wh flying can't see us getting him.

08 Mar 2021 20:50:18
What style of play does Keane like to play am guessing old 4-4-2?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 20:53:38
Philtim
It won't matter who we get it will divide the support.
People aren't happy with Keane, Moyes or Big Mick. People also aren't happy with Howe or Lambert because they say they haven't done anything.

Ed007 Sunderland is a club like a poisoned chalice these days. To achieve what he Keane did, is remarkable.

Jonbhoy71 I agree mate. Some fans need to be realistic. Just hope we get it right this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They've been a poisoned chalice for years behind the scenes, I'm sure it was only that Ellis guy pulling the plug on subsidising the club that stopped Keane's good work there.}

08 Mar 2021 21:11:47
Sorry that should say Lampard and not Lambert.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 22:04:36
Ed007 Roy Keane last season in charge, the teams that beat Sunderland were decent teams at the time. Imo better than Sunderland at that time. After Keane left, Sunderland went downhill that season.

I think the Sunderland board were being unrealistic with their expectations. They were expecting too much too soon in EPL. Survival should of been basis to progress.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - My memory is a bit foggy but wasn't there an on/off takeover and that's why Ellis Short(?) stopped subsidising the club. I love Roy Keane, Phil, you have no idea lol it's verging on creepy but I don't want him as our manager/head coach- definitely not. But it would have been a different story this year if he had been but if - and that's a big IF -he is going to be involved he would be a fantastic No.2 alongside someone to keep him in check and make sure he's implementing the right processes etc
I would also put him on media duties and do every press conference.}

08 Mar 2021 22:05:48
Jonbhoy71 I think Lampard has potential to be a top manager. Think Chelsea job was too soon for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 23:14:16
Celtic is equally as big a job as Chelsea as the fans will want instant success and he won't have hundreds of millions to spend either.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 23:16:18
Totally agree Phil regarding Lampard.
I've also been reading a story tonight regarding the Man City U23 coach being a target again, I think that would be a really good appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2021 00:21:34
Jonbhoy71 is that maresca? I've genuinely never heard of him until recently, but Man City don't cut corners. If he is part of their set up, then he must have qualities that the club values and that respect is worth a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2021 00:28:51
Ed, I've always thought Keane and deila, which was the plan, would of been a masterstroke.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2021 09:55:53
Jonbhoy, I think it was OAB2 that said it, whoever is appointed will not be everyone's cup of tea.

One thing we can all agree on is that we'd like a Manager/ coach to come in that can combine playing the Celtic way and winning football matches oh and #skelping.

Ed007 I can't remember, all I can remember was the hype that they were going to do this and that which failed.

Ed007 I have a lot of respect for Keane as well. He is a true professional with dignity, loyalty and respect. Have you ever saw his post match interview for Nottingham forest and his response when pressed about transfer to Man Utd?

I think he would be a valuable addition to coaching staff. Joe Jordan never quite made it as a manager but went on to become a highly rated first team coach who Harry Redknapp took to a couple of teams with him.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

09 Mar 2021 09:52:19
Totally agree Ed with your views on Roy. As a number 2 (specialist midfield coach? ) and doing the media work would be great value.

Safe to say fitness levels would be more than allright with Roy keeping an eye on them.

Linked with hibs keeper marciano his contract is up. always does well anytime av seem him.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Mar 2021 12:21:06
Seen him with many blunders especially against Rangers - a no for me

We need far better.

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 13:17:55
We already have three rotten keepers. Why do we need anorher one?

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 13:27:05
We need more than one, so he is better than what we have imo and him fighting it out with an even better signing is what we need.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 13:49:53
we could not make 1 keeper out the three duds we have, so why on earth are we looking at another project. ma heed is spinning.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 16:16:14
Anyone who think Marciano is good enough for us is a lunatic.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 16:18:59
I’d prefer to try to clear out the keepers we have, keep hazard as 3rd, try for siegrist of united to compete with another for 1st choice.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 17:57:59
Nobody is saying he us good enough if we want to be a good team, but he's better than we have and cheap, so that's our boards main thing. We al want a too keeper, but they cost and our board hate the sound of the word cost. They prefer to waste umpteen milions on projects who overwhelmingly move us backward.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 18:49:24
I’d disagree that he is better than Bain.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2021 10:05:41
We're going to need 2 keepers in the Summer window IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2021 18:01:01
He does well with the Israel team.

08 Mar 2021 09:47:14
No chance they are making ntchams loan permanent.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Mar 2021 10:02:33
Taken off at halftime again . damn it thought we'd be rid.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Ntcham's agent has other options for him come the summer, it's looking like the Marseille move was a case of getting him anywhere away from Celtic.
I don't expect to see Ntcham return to Celtic, well apart from technicality of official paperwork.}

08 Mar 2021 10:49:11
Agree with you ED, not a chance we will see him back. Was hoping he would put in some good performances to inflate the fee we get for him as i think that was probably our thinking when he left on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think we'll get €6 - 8 million for him no matter where he ends up.}

08 Mar 2021 11:45:57
Yeah hopefully. What was the exact fee we paid for him? Im sure if we are able to get this back we would be happy enough with it. My understanding was it was 4m rising to 6m or something along those lines?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The initial fee was £4.5 million but I don't know if there was any add-ons to that.}

08 Mar 2021 13:20:16
Did we genuinely KB 14m a year or so ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Porto offered €14 million but if I remember it right, Degsy that was €10 million up front and the rest was add-ons.}

08 Mar 2021 16:17:56
I’d take £10 up front.

Lawwell should be sued for the 14m we lost out on.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 23:19:09
We lost a healthy fee on Boyata too was it not like a £9m bid or something from Fulham?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 07:47:18
Any truth in the rumour that Martinez was pictured getting shown around lennoxtown?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Mar 2021 10:00:27
No unless him and Malony were shown around with a tour guid like the rest of us.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2021 14:19:19
My way of thinking about new manager could be the man is in charge now witn the way his team are playing just now and where they are playing you would think that Moyes would renew his contract for next season but they can still ask what do ED007 and fellow supporters think to that suggestion?
