This isn’t football manager - the guy is not any better than what’s at the club already. So what I’ll do is judge him on the highlights of games I’ve seen and then odd game in full I’ve watched and say he is average playing for an average club.

If this is then calibre of signings then just play the youth players and let them get experience.

As a matter of fact I watch a lot of championship football and he's stuck out anytime I've seen him he's a good solid player can actually play out the back and doesn't take chances. So I'd say yeah he's better than Duffy and Bitton and he's capable of playing at full back. Would definitely strengthen our team.

Left sided CB too. Hopefully we can convince Preston to sell now. Davies at LCB and Ajer at RCB should help plug that leaky defense. Meant to be good in the air too, He'll have plenty of set pieces to contend with.

Davies is no better than Welsh IMO so we will just have to disagree on this one.

Our competition for him was Bournemouth with Rangers mentioned before as well - both are pretty average clubs for me.

Why do people bash potential signings as not ever being good enough for us automatically fee, interested clubs and club currently played for come into consideration. Our fan base are so quick to think we are above signing players before they even kick a ball for us.

Kev T I rest my case you said he's not better than what we already have then you've just said he's better than Duffy and Bitton make your mind up. All I'm saying as don't judge the lad until he's played for us because I don't care what team they play for look at Mc Donald, Hooper, Lubo, Agathe, Larsson! They all turned out no bad I'd say, we need a capable CB he looks solid and can play he could potentially cost us nowt give him a chance and yes Welsh is a good young player he'll potentially be a regular very soon.

Our defence is so bad that we need to sign a proven player - international level if we can not a guy from mid table championship

We have had many great bargains in the past but we have had far too many rubbish players signed and I think especially after this shambles of a season we need to bring in better.

I’d rather we not sign anyone until a new head of recruitment is in place with a new manager.

Kev your the one needing to behave bud not willing to give the lad a chance. And when is this head of recruitment coming in because you'll be waiting a very long time. This lad will do just fine. I'm all for giving them a chance instead of writing them off before they've even played.

Means one of 2 things. NL is staying or the new manager will be a yes man.

Signing players now could also mean 2 other things.
1 - We have identified our New Manager and he has given his approval to the signing.
2 - We have arranged for a DOF to come in and it's him who has given the OK for the signing.

No one knows but as a club are we just supposed to sit on out hands until the summer and then try and pick up the scraps

In regards to the 2 above options, Nothing has been announced as yet but I'm betting as soon as the league is mathematically gone we will see announcements

But as I mentioned earlier this could be the clubs usual smoke and mirrors and we will see him sign for Bournemouth.

Frimpong away, no replacement this window, hearing the other players who have expressed a desire to leave are ajer, edouard, mcgregor, klimala, forrest, christie, elyounessi wants to go back to Southampton so they can loan him to somebody else, only other incoming my reliable source has mentioned other than ash taylor and scott robinson is a 8 million move for west brom defender cedric kipre.

App lennon has said more want to go as well. I know we all knew this but what a rubbish show we are at the minute. By the time the manager comes, he’s going to be left with a bare squad which will need replacing quickly and gelling together quickly. With the club not replacing Lennon I think at best it’s going to be Clarke, more and more I’m thinking Kennedy will get the gig . We obviously don’t have a plan or we do and it’s so poor they aren’t telling us. It won’t be Howe as he’s available now, and they haven’t moved for him. Rafa has stated he’s waiting for a job in the prem. Every day just seems to get worse for us, we could end up giving them the title next year and the bonus of the 40million from automatic entry to the champions league. I can’t believe the board are so naive and short sighted.

Mally - if he was pish then how come a better team than Celtic are willing to pay over 10 million for him?

He will only get better with proper coaching not with an absolute waster like Lennon who has ruined Celtic, so much so we are 23 points behind an average Rangers team.

We know Christie, ajer, Eddie, el hamed all want out. I reckon McGregor wants out. Wouldn’t surprise me if Barkas and ajeti are thinking they made mistakes.
Can’t see bolingoli coming back into the fold. Browns out of contract. Moi and Duffys loans are up. There’s probably a few i've forgotten as well.
I know a fair few won’t be missed, but struggling to field a team.
That’s a complete rebuild needed. Even if we replace the important positions, it leaves us well short in depth.

I think next years title is already in doubt. The board either want Lennon to stay or don’t want to pay him off.
We’re also losing about 11 players, so next season could be another disaster even if we brought in a top class manager. The squad is going to be so bare, he’ll be in trouble right from the off.
This stems from the board refusing to take action back in October when the season was salvageable. Someone said we don’t want to be like championship clubs sacking four managers a year. What we’re doing is equally as bad. They sack managers when there’s a rough patch. We’re not in a rough patch. We’ve crashed and landed on our roof. It’s been evident since ferencvaros that there’s problems in the dressing room, yet here we are, five months later in a position that could take two or three years to fix.

That's why this season was extra important to win Degsy, fans wouldn't have cared too much losing next season if we had won the 10 as the massive rebuild was always required. Now as you say next season is in doubt too. I can foresee it already, Sevco will qualify for the UCL and we won't even get EL as we will be in the non champions route. Transfers will drag on for ages and we'll resort to playing players out of position or reserves like we do every year. They'll have money to burn and be able to lure in much better players.
