Bit disappointed if as is being suggested there are no more signings in this transfer window. While Bayo and Weah are undoubtedly exciting prospects that's what they are. Prospects. I'm fine with that in essence and think we are well covered for rest of season in central defense.

However would have liked us to bring in an experienced proven striker even one at the latter stages of his career. Dare I say it I would have been happy if we'd signed Defoe. I know BR and the clubs preference is to nurture and develop young talent but I think a blend of youth and experience has a lot to be said for it.

We'd have known what we were getting which would have removed some of the concerns about unknown quantities up front irrespective of their potential going into the remainder of the season. Just my thoughts fellow TIMS.

Defoe? really! Never I would always want a young player instead of over the hill people coming for a swansong, I never liked these signings and i did not believe they helped improved the team long term. In fact i always believed that the manager in these signings was stating his intention to leave.
I would be happy with someone like Jeffery Brumma coming in and Boyata moving out in this window, Then another CH and RB brought in the summer.

I'm not sure we are well covered in defence jfp, we need to plan for our cb pairing leaving, boyata as far as I'm concerned should never be near the first team if he is leaving in the summer, he should never have got back in the team in the first place but that's another days work. What happens if someone wants to buy benkovic can Leicester sell him or do they need to wait till the loan is up? The way he's been playing I think there'll be clubs sniffing about him. If we lost 2 cb's we must replace them.

Jfp stop stressing bud are we really scared of that lot c'mon reality check bhoys sort the away form out and we will win the league at a canter. New bhoys signed will be hungry and can only be good for competition for places. Defoe? I was concerned when it was laudrup de boer etc in their prime but Defoe how did it come to that 🙈.

Need to stop believing what the SMSM keep spewing.
There won't be any £8-9 million signings but BR never said we won't sign another player.
We will bring in another 2 or 3 players.

Defoe is finished, its beginning to look like The rangers were his only option. He has rapidly declined and personally i think he will struggle to get a game in front of kyle lafferty he is that bad. Not even a league 1 side down south put an offer in.

Personally think Defoe will actually not be that bad a signing for them the chances Morelos misses he will put them away, but also the track record of older players coming to Scotland thinking it will be a walk over aren’t that good so will need to wait and see . But to our signings I genuinely think our signings are young and hungry and willing prove there worth but I think there’s a few panty wetters in here desperately trying to drag us down. Fingers crossed a few more new faces come in to freshen things up as I think a few will leave on loan .

Boyata is definitely leaving at the latest the end of the season. Benkovic will also return to Leicester aswell. Therefore it’s imperative that we sign a new CB now. Don’t want to wait until Champs league qualifiers and hope the new guy settles instantly.
I know there’s less availability in this window but there are still good players available. What happens once Boyata signs pre contract elsewhere if club decide to keep him till end of season if he picks up niggling injuries he won’t want to risk himself and personally once a player has committed future to other club I for one don’t want him playing for us.
Benkovic can as we know be recalled and if they sell McGuire to Man U, sack manager or 1 of their CB gets injured he can be recalled.
Everywhere else except RB seems to be strong enough to still win league but for me CB and RB must be addressed in this window.
Iv no doubt we will sign players for both positions I hope they are permanent signings with experience, still got 18 days to sort it, I’m just surprised Iv not heard us linked with any CB’s really in tabloids.
Rodgers keeps stating he felt he needed more in final 3rd and is happy with new acquisitions but hasn’t mentioned much about the need to significantly strengthen at the back.

Like it or not we are in a title race. I understand people saying if we sort our away form out we will be grand, however I haven't seen anything so far this season to suggest it's about to suddenly change. My preference in this window would have been tried and tested experience, we have plenty of young projects already and with youth comes inconsistency. Don't blow it Brendan.

Has he rejected an offer from Celtic?
If so is he being sold?
If not what's everyone's thoughts on him staying for another contract?

Think it's time to move on. The debacle in the summer proves his heart isn't in it anymore. The improved performances were for his future career elsewhere. Off you pop big fella.

I think most of if not all Celtic fans are looking to get. CB in I would like to see experience in there but with VRs comments I can’t see that happening but fingers crossed am wrong. Someone mentioned big commanding CB to be announced this week coming I hope so.

I respect any player that wants to move on, but the way he conducted himself was highly unprofessional. Would be surprised if we don't sign another CB this month and Boyata was away.

Rodgers proved himself to be a weak manager in this situation.

Boyata should have never played again. He refused to pull on the jersey pretending to be injured.

We lost to AEK and lost 40 mil.

He's not even a good player.

The amount of our fans who sat and clapped a player who has no respect for our club was an absolute embarrassment.

Agree Tesla! Boyata shouldn’t have been near a Celtic top ever again after his actions in the summer! Brendan let it go and then dembele through the toys out the pram! And like you said, he’s absolute Barry white! Frightening that he’s what Brendan classes as our best defender! I’d quite happily never see the clown play for us again! Him and his agent can take f**k tae there selfs!

He definitely not signing new contract, that’s we he’s waited to be allowed to leave on a Bosman. As soon as he signs pre contract with new team the club should try and negotiate £1m fee to release him now, gets him off wage bill and out the club and the wages and £1m fee can go towards his replacement.

We lost more. £40m just to qualify. £14m TV pot and circa £11m CL home ticket package. I hate transfer windows. This one will join the rest if we don’t get a couple of battle hardened defenders. Get Boyata tf as he doesn’t want to be here, Benkovic leaves in the summer too and the thought of CL qualification with what we have left is a real concern.

There are players out there, although selfish clubs wanting money for them is really annoying. A RB and at least one CB who can actually play are a must.

I hope not, but he is way better than Hendry to be fair. And Hayes isn't going to cut it. 2 fringe players out and a first 11 starter does make some sense. Not what we would wish for tho.
