Well played tonight by the bhoys, really like the movement and touch of Weah.

Hopefully KT not too far away from a return, wil make a huge difference in the run in.

All the way bhoys!

1.) 24 Jan 2019 02:11:48
If seems clear BR hasn't had much to do with the new winger coming in. Saw a comment which said he doesn't know much about him and we have millions of wingers and he will be going straight out on loan. Seems very strange comment to make.

2.) 24 Jan 2019 05:09:56
Where did you read that Ter?

3.) 24 Jan 2019 06:19:20
Very strange really ter, at a time when we seem reluctant to pay for a weak area in right back we manage to find 2 million for another winger that the manager knows nothing about. Who has made this signing? Why are they doing it behind his back? Being slightly pessimistic I’m thinking this could be Brendan’s last season, there seems to be still a bit of disharmony there. I really hope I’m wrong because I can’t see us getting in the same calibre of manager when he does eventually go, and even as a lot of people say his signings haven’t been a success it’s never a good sign when the club starts signing players behind the managers back.

4.) 24 Jan 2019 06:41:59
At big clubs the managers don't pick the players, he also said same about Arzani
If we have a chance to get a great young player that could make the club millions why not.

5.) 24 Jan 2019 07:13:34
We are not reluctant to pay for a right back. We have approached and been rebuffed for a few this window.

6.) 24 Jan 2019 08:30:50
We rebuffed ourselves kev over prices.

Also hate to be that guy but I've told you all along on here the manager doesn't make the signings.

Since way before Rodgers.

So many people you see absolutely slaughtering Rodgers for his signings. Even slaughter congerton and before that john park.

When these guys work with 2 hands tied behind their back.

Even if you watch si ferry interview with paddy McCourt. It was Desmond who signed him and Strachan didn't know who he was.

Now we operate by having links with clubs and agents and use their pool of players. Mark lawwell at Man city. Dudu dahan the old agent.

So think before you say it's all Rodgers fault he doesn't get trusted with money.

7.) 24 Jan 2019 08:37:35
I remember paddy mcourt saying when he walked into the training ground strachan never had a clue who he was think this has been happening for years.

8.) 24 Jan 2019 09:40:01
Was Rogers who picked Hendry after praising him for weeks
It was Rogers that's said no to Fabian Schar and wanted compper instead.

9.) 24 Jan 2019 10:20:18
There is no way Rodgers picked Compper over Schar. Absolute lie Kev.

10.) 24 Jan 2019 12:00:41
Kev83 sorry mate but you are being taken in by the spin doctors at C. P the reason we have no new R. B is purely down to the asking price, and as for commper over Schar down to Rodgers nonsense again down to money lawwell and Desmond have put in an artificial ceiling of 2 mill tops for new signings, don't you find it lust a little strange that the cheque for lawwells bonus is more than paid out for. All the new signings so far, a lot more transparency needed around just who is signing these player it's very obvious it's not BR and with congleton given a back seat who and why are we filling the squad with loans and bench warmers when come the summer we stand to lose half the team, on a positive note team plated very well last night enjoyed the game.

11.) 24 Jan 2019 12:11:51
No it's not it's been well known for a while.

12.) 24 Jan 2019 14:05:46
Hi Jonbhoy. I saw it on reports which quote BR as saying it about the winger. It doesn't come across as happy about it.

13.) 24 Jan 2019 14:09:50
2 million ceiling on signings?
Really?
So we didn't smash our transfer record in the last transfer window?
Bloody hell I must have dreamt that.

14.) 24 Jan 2019 15:16:58
But a thought Rodgers didn't pick the players so is he to blame for the mince ones and gets no credit for the good ones.

15.) 24 Jan 2019 15:41:23
He gets a say in signings mally. It's like a committee as far as I am have heard.
Just have to look at Scott Sinclair to see he gets a say.

16.) 24 Jan 2019 16:16:12
Agree kev he does but he seems to take the rap on here for the duds but not the hits.

17.) 24 Jan 2019 16:36:36
Actually kev that's not true. We were in contact with Scott Sinclair when deila was the manager so yer wrong again.

Sinclair knocked us back for Villa and having Rodgers helps attract guys like him

But Sinclair was sought after by us before Rodgers.

18.) 24 Jan 2019 16:46:08
Don't think that's quite right mally.
Most people rave about how he's improved the team that was here and quite a few believe Sinclair was an excellent signing.

19.) 24 Jan 2019 19:32:48
We might have wanted him but he was one of the first Rogers asked for and we only got him because of Rogers. So he was most certainly a Rogers signing.
He has always been a major favourite of Rogers from his time at Chelsea.
Bought him for Swansea. Enquired about signing him for Liverpool and then signed him for us.

20.) 24 Jan 2019 19:42:14
Maybe it was tongue in cheek, maybes ayes maybes no, he's here for 10 in a row.

21.) 24 Jan 2019 20:38:33
Nonsense Kev83, Brendan Rodgers publically stated he wanted Schar.

22.) 24 Jan 2019 23:03:18
Impression I get is that Kev is in a bit of denial about how much the board has total control these days.

It can work in some ways but imo our board seen too arrogant to make big decisions when needed.

Far too safe.

To blame Rodgers for signings is a bit mental and tbh shows a lack of knowledge on modern football.

The manager nowadays is becoming just a head coach for many teams.

Clubs are relying more on structure than one mans decisions. On paper that sounds sensible but it can also be a disaster.

12 Jan 2019 22:52:25
Looks like we have missed the boat with Fran Sol, off to Dynamo Kiev for only 3 million.

{Ed007's Note - We didn't miss out on him, we signed Bayo instead.}

1.) 13 Jan 2019 00:02:50
Interesting as Dynamo Kiev were apparently in for Bayo. Maybe Sol was their back up option.

2.) 13 Jan 2019 10:20:49
Should have signed them both ;)

3.) 13 Jan 2019 12:28:54
How can we miss out on a player we didn't want to sign?

4.) 13 Jan 2019 13:57:08
That only usually happens when Sevco sign a player Kev.

Rodgers could have been a true legend, statue material.

If his walking away is true, it magnifies the rift that must have taken place.

Was Rodgers track record of exuberant spending on transfers ever going to fit with our boards ethos?

Get Clarke in, he doesn't have his head in lala land.

Remember when house prices crashed in London, same now happening in Sydney here, mark my words, the crazy money in football will finaly pop, it cannot keep pace, and when the flood waters subside, we will still be standing!

1.) 26 Feb 2019 11:46:10
I used to think that downunderbhoy but now I'm not so sure. I've been hoping the bubble would burst for about 10 years but it's only got worse.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 12:41:17
Try 20 years. I don’t see it bursting anytime soon.

26 Feb 2019 10:45:57
I've just picked up my phone, is this a wind up?

21 Feb 2019 07:43:08
I feel totally sympathetic towards Steve Clark, what he said was bang on.

The religious biggitory that exists in Scotland in the year 2019 is beyond farcical.
People are living in the bloody dark ages still!

I can still recall being screamed at as being a Fenian Barsteward, having to fun for my skin as my school was wedged between 2 protestant high schools.

One of the reasons I jumped at moving to Australia, so my kids wouldn't have to hear it.

By no way am I saying all our fans are squeeky clean.

1.) 21 Feb 2019 09:02:19
Sadly, this is something we're never going to get rid of in my opinion. I live in the East, and wouldn't say for one minute it's as bad as what we see and hear over in the West. But it's there, and it does rear it's ugly head from time to time. I'm ex forces, and can recall being called fenian numerous times during my service. That was early 80s going into the 90s. I've been offshore 20 odd years and can still remember being asked " what fit do you kick wi" by a manager on first meeting. So it's there, and it's everywhere, and it will continue to be there. Where we, as Celtic supporters can help ourselves, is to concentrate on supporting the team, sing the "Celtic" songs, and don't give the media and "peepul" an excuse to question or run us down. Hail hail.

2.) 21 Feb 2019 10:45:36
The funniest part is that these people pretend to be a Christian.

3.) 21 Feb 2019 12:09:48
And some of our flock need to look at themselves the sectarian abuse handed out to big fat Kris was just as bad.

4.) 21 Feb 2019 16:23:44
I grew up a leapar in my own family because I support Celtic. Didn’t even know what a fenian was aged 10 but got called it all the time by cousins, uncles etc.

My dad was questioned why he was ‘allowing’ me to behave in such a manner. Thankfully he didn’t care about football either way.

I’m not catholic, or even religious for that matter.

That’s just life in this part of the world, unfortunately.

07 Feb 2019 03:46:58
Weah's running, commitmemt and movememt reminds me so much of the King.
I pray we can get him for another season.

1.) 07 Feb 2019 08:14:22
I think he has the potential to be in that class.

2.) 07 Feb 2019 09:50:09
If we were able to sign all the loan boys it would step us up that bit further. That’s the class we should be aiming for and it’s not unrealistic to see them back. Recent interviews show there love for the club already. If we we’re able to find the funds for these transfers it would be a no brainer. Squad is also going to look a lot stronger come the weekend. Ajer back, Edouard, Ntcham, Izzy, Lustig.

Just need Griff, Forrest, Rogic, Benkovic, Tierney Back. Our squad looks very good depth wise.

3.) 07 Feb 2019 10:46:10
The link up play last night was slick. When French eddy gets in the mix we have some front line. Shame for bayo but even BR wouldn’t have sent him on as a left back.

Johnny Hayes is definitely not a left back, but fair play he will probably just be happy to get on the pitch. Gave the ball away plenty though.

I said on another post about building the post broony era team around calmac - his running and movement last night was sublime. Some player he’s becoming.

Bain - solid passing
For me Ajer offers more than boyata.

4.) 07 Feb 2019 11:02:22
He reminds me of cadete.

07 Feb 2019 02:42:31
The baw booter strikes again.

No action will be taken, guarantee it!

1.) 07 Feb 2019 08:02:39
Surely with it being his 4th red this season (which should be 5 if you count his baw booting of Broony and Ralston) he should be facing a lengthy ban . I"ll no hold my breath tho.

2.) 07 Feb 2019 08:31:39
Have they set a time for Morelos appeal and overturning yet?

3.) 07 Feb 2019 10:54:09
Noticed that as well. That was a career threatening tackle on his old team mates nephew and like you say, no action will be taken.

4.) 07 Feb 2019 11:31:17
Morelos is a thug and I have not one doubt in my mind his career will be ended early due to a retaliation tackle.

If this alledged Turkish club bid had been true and he was away, he wouldn't get away with half of what he has done here. League is a lot more physical and seems to be a magnet for hot heads.

Bloody Boyata, out of order, we have paid him handsomely and now get zero sell on, doesn't deserve to wear our shirt, absolute clown if true.

I agree Tony, there are always two sides to a story, always cause and effect.

Unless you were present in every meeting, all you can do is guess at what happened.

He won us 7 trophies in a row, I thank him for that.

No one man is bigger than Celtic, we move on.

Been a very, very long time since I was at a game.

Do the seats have numbers on them? if so, take picture/ footage of said muppit and seat number, forward this to both the club and police scotland.

Well said Tim, it's disgraceful conduct so called Celtic fans, i'm sure they apply such standards in all parts of their lives.

That's one thing I can say for the Ozzies here, very little trouble at the sporting grounds and you can drink a coldie watching the game, very pleasant indeed.
