I have just read that the Edouard transfer fee was as follows
4.5 million + add ons for champions league group stage qualifing for four years + extra if capped for france + his agent and wages for four years
Total 9 million that would tie in with what BR said.

I can’t believe what you’ve just described is the biggest potential outlay ever by the club, which is what they said in the club statement. Sutton and Lennon were both £6m and must surely have been on at least £25k per week in wages.

2.) 17 Jun 2018 01:44:09
I'll concede that the deal has been done ;) . As far as the contractually binding bump up fees go? . Your a country mile ahead jono. I've not seen the paperwork. No one has. Unless James Forrest decides to write a novela of his life so far with a tasty insider tell all and spills the beans we will never know.

3.) 18 Jun 2018 11:38:58
What’s your source for this breakdown?

22 May 2018 16:24:02
I see we are being linked to a Newcastle defender. They are quoting a price of 8 million it will never happen at that cost no way will Pl or BR sanction that for a player who could not even play in a mediocre PL team.
Also i have not seen any interest in Stuart Armstrong from any sites he will be lucky to get a move to a average championship club. He would be better off staying where he is on improved terms.
And finally i believe that the deal for Osmund Edouard would be more like the same as that of Ntcham.

I see cape town are saying we have signed Coetzee. no offical announcement.
I will wait until it is announced, after all we still await his arrival in Glasgow and taken a medical.
He still has to agree terms and i will wait till i see him in the green and white.

I see BR is being linked with a Toulouse midfielder harly a position we are short of cover for. I hope someone has got the wromg player and it is Issy Diop real class could be better than VVD.

jonace

1.) 04 Aug 2017 20:43:08
Agreed Jonace. We've got a load of midfielders. No need there. Who does Issy Diop play for and how much would he cost?

2.) 04 Aug 2017 21:35:36
But he can play right back, centre half, up front and even in goals so a perfect midfield signing for us!

3.) 05 Aug 2017 04:48:12
Diop plays for Toulouse look him up on Utube a powerhouse with lightning pace 6ft5ins really strong defender, Although you cannot be sure from video he looks a player. As for price who can tell in this market after Neymar eerything is going out the window who wouldhae thought we would pay 4.5 million for a player to sit on the bench.

4.) 05 Aug 2017 09:55:23
Gaffer said no defender coming in.

5.) 05 Aug 2017 18:17:24
Does he have any coaching badges nialH? Sounds like the dug's ;)

Some simple questions for all you Tims out there: who do we move forward with after Christmas
Gordon or Bain or Hazard
Lusnig or Gamboa or Ralston
Boyata or Simunovic or another
Ajer or Hendry or another
Brown or Malumbu or another
Ntcham or others
Macgregor or Rogic or Allan
Sinclair or Morgan or Christie
Griffiths or Edourd or another
Forrest or Johnston or Aranzi
Would you bid for
O'Donnell or another
Mckenna or Porteous
Kamara or McTomminey {on loan}
Roberts or another.

Having previously spoke about odonnell after watching his 2 games in a Scotland jersey personally didn't think he showed up well allowing crosses to come in and positional sense suspect. struggled playing at a higher level.

2.) 17 Oct 2018 14:29:05
I agree thought the lad O'Donnell ked good against very poor Albania. but awful in last two games defiantly need to be aiming higher.

3.) 17 Oct 2018 15:05:37
Everyone looked bad playing for a bad manager even Tierney remember how some played under Delia.

4.) 17 Oct 2018 18:10:28
I don't see the point in either Kamara or McTomminay when we have Kouassi who struggles for game time. All play a similar game. We have Bitton too so we are well covered in CDM.

Hi good afternoon everyone; first a few observaions about the last week or so.
1 Griffiths glad he missed the internationals, he cannot be blamed for what was a complete cock up I just wished a few more players had called off before the games hopefully some will not be fit for next months fixtures and be rested for what is going to be a tough season more of that later.
2. Keep your eye on Ryan Porteous at Hibs this boy looks like he can defend
3. BR comments on the squad lead me to believe that lots of players could be gone in the next 18 months
As many as 20 could be gone including some surprizing names Gordon Lusnig and Sinclair.

jonace

1.) 15 Oct 2018 17:30:13
Porteous is a player I like mentioned him to few mates reads the game very we’ll for someone so young think he looks a great prospect can’t wait for Saturdays game.

2.) 15 Oct 2018 18:33:10
Just saw the goals from the International at Hamden and Gordon looked static and slow to react - just like in Austria with Celtic and I will be delighted when he is replaced permanently.
Bain should be first choice - at least until the window - so he could establish himself and we could see if he is consistent/ good enough?

3.) 15 Oct 2018 18:50:45
Based on what mate he's hardly played and in the cup game he looked a bit suspect a few times. Think a new keeper is answer.

09 Oct 2018 11:29:07
I see all the hulabalu about Griffiths pulling out of the scotland squad. However i have some sympathy for him he would not have started against Isreal and then would play against Portugal another top ten team.
Alright now he isn't there let's see how Naismith plays against Portugal and will the management rip into him at half time for Scotlands defeat like they did to Giff
I will bet who will play better the following weekend for there club.

jonace

1.) 09 Oct 2018 13:58:23
I don't blame the wee man, hung out to dry against the 2nd best team in the world loan striker no possession, dropped for the mighty Albania, the rat gets a all the praise i could have scored against them; and then ebt eck giving it that naismith will start next game oh and instead of keeping in house that griff didn't answer his phone he runs and tells the media, classy, why would griff travel all the way to Israel to be second string to u know who hope he raps it for good and Scotland get pumped.

06 Oct 2018 22:16:03
Over the next two seasons we have the oppertunity to completly rebuild the squad. we could offload the following players and replace them with new fewer and better.
Gordon, De Vries, Lusnig, Gamboa, Ralston, Issagurrie, Miller, Compper, Boyata, Benekovic, Suminovic, Bitton, Allan, Christie, Hayes, Sinclair, Kouassi, Benyu, Malunbu, i would even go so far as to include Rogic in this list.
We could start afresh with
Bain and the two young keepers Hazard and Doohan
A new RB with Hendrey as back up
Teirney and a back up new LB
Ajer and three new central defenders
Brown Ntcham MacGregor and at least two new Midfielders
Two new centre forwards and a new winger
10 players for 20 it would be difficult but not impossible to achieve.

1.) 06 Oct 2018 23:21:51
Or we could let Brendan manage the team!

2.) 06 Oct 2018 23:50:52
We can’t let Scott Allen go.

We’ve already lost Armstrong and Allen is the only midfielder with beautiful natural blond hair left.

Yes, I know Sinclair has blond hair but I’m sure it’s not natural.

Thank goodness for young Ajer in Defence. It was desperate times after Johansen left.

Things got so desperate Griffiths agreed to transplant his hair to make it look more.

3.) 07 Oct 2018 00:31:37
That's no fun voting and he kinda has a point. The mantra was a small skilled squad and yet it gets bigger and we get commper and can't get rid of Allan.

4.) 07 Oct 2018 01:21:10
St Johnstone are a £7.5m squad. So my squad and formations for this morning is as follows:

Tierney.

That’s it. He’s worth more than them. 1 v 11.
I was going to put Broony oot there alone but we’d lose if he gets red carded. Honest mistakes and all that.

Ok how about.4-4-2

Bain
Izzaguire, Simunovic, Compper, Hendry
Allan, Bitton, Hayes, Christie
Griffiths, Johnstone

They’re all highly paid and of much greater value than the st Johnstone players. That team should win comfortably.

5.) 07 Oct 2018 02:30:26
On second thoughts I’ll increase team value by dropping Christie and Griffiths to the bench and adding Kouassi and Benyu.
You can’t be too careful:

New formation 4-2-3-1

Bain
Izzy, Jozo, Compper, Hendry
Bitton, Benyu
Allan, Hayes, Kouassi
Johnstone.

Give these guys a chance. They deserve it.

6.) 07 Oct 2018 09:36:39
I bet that team would slam 5 past St Johnstone 😂.

I am beginning to fear for this season. A number of posts are becoming available and BR is being linked more and more with clubs with a bigger transfer budget than us.
We have a lot of dead wood in the club at the moment and it will need a cold heart to clear it out something I don't believe BR has. He is to loyal to those he likes. Managers in any role sometimes show faith in people he knows when they should have been cleared out.
A number of players and backroom staff clearly are not up to the task to reach the next stage in the clubs developmentoff the park. Had PL shown the same accumen in football matters as he has shown in the clubs business deals we would be significantly better off. We should have sold Boyata in the summer and invested in two new defenders. I seem to remember NL refusing to sell Stokes as he had already lost Hooper. Stokes never really performed for us again after that, and we could have got Vardy for for less than we would have recieved for Stokes.

would you accept 12 or hold out. If the clubs policy is to develop players to sell is this the maximum return we can expect for a player who was considered a liablity just 12 months ago. Could we find potential before the window closes.

I live near Bournemouth and you would not believe the arrogance of English supporters. When you ask why KT would leave a great club like Celtic they reply but it is the Premier League as if it is the Holy Grail. PL is not the Greatest league nor does it have the best players in the world. No matter what some people might say. It is no different than it was 50 years ago it still relies upon foreign players to make up the squads which are larger than in Scotland which means more competition. Yes it pays better but money is not everything pride happiness and success can be just as important.

I disagree with your ethos. Arsenal have always given their managers a good chance to prove themselves. At least 3 years, However they are now looking at leagues bigger than Scotland That is their mistake BR would be great for them but as all foreign owned PL clubs, they cannot see further than the end of their face.

Will Mcginn accept it.

{Ed007's Note - I don't see why not if there's no agreement with Hibs. McGinn was never going to leave Hibs in the lurch by signing a pre-contract in January, the deal had to be done this window.}

The main problem seems to be his knees. He could be the best defender in the world but if he does not play he is excess to reqiurements AKA Kompany.
With three teams playing on plastic pitches this year that is six games he will miss already. With cup and others in the CL then there could be more. A settled defence is a must for a trophy winning team. Better to lose him and Commper now if they are not going to be fit. Buy one really good replacement that has a consistant fitness record.
