I see we are being linked to a Newcastle defender. They are quoting a price of 8 million it will never happen at that cost no way will Pl or BR sanction that for a player who could not even play in a mediocre PL team.
Also i have not seen any interest in Stuart Armstrong from any sites he will be lucky to get a move to a average championship club. He would be better off staying where he is on improved terms.
And finally i believe that the deal for Osmund Edouard would be more like the same as that of Ntcham.

1.) 22 May 2018 20:32:35
Jonace could u give me the lottery numbers for Sat mate bit skint.

2.) 22 May 2018 22:08:02

16 Nov 2017 04:59:36
What is the score with Eric Shevchenko is he just waiting for january and a move.

1.) 16 Nov 2017 16:12:19
He's available for selection this weekend.

21 Aug 2017 19:22:19
I see cape town are saying we have signed Coetzee. no offical announcement.
I will wait until it is announced, after all we still await his arrival in Glasgow and taken a medical.
He still has to agree terms and i will wait till i see him in the green and white.

04 Aug 2017 19:41:10
I see BR is being linked with a Toulouse midfielder harly a position we are short of cover for. I hope someone has got the wromg player and it is Issy Diop real class could be better than VVD.

1.) 04 Aug 2017 20:43:08
Agreed Jonace. We've got a load of midfielders. No need there. Who does Issy Diop play for and how much would he cost?

2.) 04 Aug 2017 21:35:36
But he can play right back, centre half, up front and even in goals so a perfect midfield signing for us!

3.) 05 Aug 2017 04:48:12
Diop plays for Toulouse look him up on Utube a powerhouse with lightning pace 6ft5ins really strong defender, Although you cannot be sure from video he looks a player. As for price who can tell in this market after Neymar eerything is going out the window who wouldhae thought we would pay 4.5 million for a player to sit on the bench.

4.) 05 Aug 2017 09:55:23
Gaffer said no defender coming in.

5.) 05 Aug 2017 18:17:24
Does he have any coaching badges nialH? Sounds like the dug's ;)

04 Jul 2017 18:08:19
I see we are linked with Mario Pasalic from Chelsea. Looks a more athletic, stronger and faster version of Bitton. My only concern is why Chelsea are lettig him go or his two previous clubs AC or Monaco have not made bids for him.

1.) 04 Jul 2017 18:13:33
So is Charly Musonda not a target after all despite all the speculation that talks were at an advanced stage?
Drewzybhoy .

2.) 04 Jul 2017 19:12:06
Does anyone outside of BR and whoever he trusts really know? I'd rather duverne than any of the attacking players to be honest.

3.) 04 Jul 2017 20:39:33
Duverne has ruled out move g this window supposedly.

4.) 05 Jul 2017 18:58:20
Pasalic would be some signing too. Not sure where it would leave Armstrong or Kouassi but add Brown to make up a quartet and McGregor as the plan C for the dept. and that is a half decent midfield.

20 May 2018 16:27:34
I am sure that I am going to be derided for suggesting this but here goes
I am sure we are all pleased to see the players sign new long contacts and if Armstrong and Boyata were to sign up the team would have a very settled feel for the next 5 years.
However we all know cover is needed in certain areas,
A RB, a left sided CD LB RW and a replacement for Scott Brown in the future. So here goes with my idea
Stephen O'Donnell Scott Mckenna Declan John John Mcginn and Chris Cadden
I know some of you will shout that these are not good enough but no one is saying that about Lewis Morgan and he is the same age as some of these and is only proven in the championship
These player have competed at PL level BR loves working with young players and all of these would improve under his tutelage.

{Ed007's Note -

1.) 20 May 2018 17:09:41
That's a lot of players who quite simply would struggle to make the bench.

2.) 20 May 2018 18:00:17
Oot of player you mentioned only Mcginn is anywhere near good enough and even he's a stretch in my eyes.

3.) 20 May 2018 17:44:00
Lmao ed😂 wtf you want Declan John for Jonace? To clean the boots. Think you've been over celebrating over the weekend🤣.

4.) 20 May 2018 20:20:02
Back after bit away. Long time reader of posts.
Was at game against Aberdeen, as a guest of season ticket holder of prominence who was himself in boardroom as a guest of the club. When asked if he had any snippets of info: “well this comes from the horses mouth, priority is a RB, a LB as cover for KT since sizeable bids will be received and one may be too high to turn down, and we are signing John McGinn”.

5.) 20 May 2018 21:59:20
BFM with regards to a possible bid for KT too high to turn down, what if KT says I don’t want to leave what then. oldkilly.

6.) 20 May 2018 23:28:10
He won't leave.

7.) 20 May 2018 23:57:20
well hows this from the horses mouth, there has been no bid from celtic yet, and john is now in dubai with his girlfriend before he comes back to join up with the scotland squad.

8.) 21 May 2018 11:07:00
Can we all calm doon about KT? The Bhoy is going nowhere for at least five years. Thank you :)

9.) 21 May 2018 12:21:15
What I posted earlier was simply what I was told vetbatim.

Personally I never want to see KT leave but if a bid of £30/ 40M comes in what do you think will happen!
And the fact McGinn is on holiday right now/ Scotland squad etc, are you seriously giving that as a reason why this transfer won’t happen ( once a transfer window opens btw) . Scott Allan plus fringe player on loan for a year plus cash, St Mirren due 33% sell on too.

{Ed007's Note - If a bid of £30/40 million comes in for KT nothing will happen, out of professional courtesy the Club would speak to the player and his agent and they would in turn thank them but turn down the move - or are you saying the Club would force Tierney to move even when he doesn't want to?}

10.) 21 May 2018 13:48:02
Tierney is living his dream and is clearly in no hurry to give that up. He seems like a bright lad, he knows that if there’s a big move there for him now it will still be there in a few years time. No chance he’s leaving any time soon if at all.

11.) 21 May 2018 21:34:52
spoke to johns girlfriends grandad again today, john is coming back tonight, there has been no contact at all from any club yet never mind from Celtic, he was saying they have jokingly told john if he went to rangers he wouldn't be allowed in their houses lol, but i know he would never join them.

08 May 2018 23:40:36
I see someone is saying that 6 or 7 players leaving would be major surgery, I would like to point out that as most big teams carry a first team squad of 24/ 26 players and it is rare these days for any player to stay at a club longer than 4 years in the first team. You need 6 new players each season either from the youth team or from transfers just to keep squad numbers.

1.) 09 May 2018 07:09:44
Jonace I was confused with Kev saying we did not need to buy buy buy like Sevco but then saying we need 4 in. And then saying 4 in 7 out is not major surgery, sorry but 4 in and 7 out by my calculations is major surgery regardless if it is needed or not. We already have youths in 1st team squad and i will wait and see where we are if we manage to get players on new contracts and our loan players signed permanently. Hopefully that is done sooner rather than later this window. Took too long getting Paddy in the summer and we have all seen the effect of his wasted pre season with Man C.

2.) 09 May 2018 07:30:21
Not easy getting players out the door unless someone wants to take them plus the player wants the move. I think with Sviatchenko Allen and Ciftci already out on loan they will be the easiest to move on. If 7 is the magic number can add De Vries, Gamboa, and Compper/ Musonda if they are not playing.

3.) 09 May 2018 13:35:54
For Europe we need 3 improvements to the defence, GK, RB and CH

Roberts / Rogic and Armstrong potentially leaving will need a proper replacement not Christie or Morgan - they are SPL players at best

New striker needed only if 1 goes

I agree that we can easily let 7 players go and it wouldn’t affect to 16-28 players needed for match day

For me De Vries, Lustig, Compper, Gamboa, Roberts, Musonda, Allan, Ciftci can go ( would love Roberts signed mind but can’t see it happening )

Armstrong, Rogic and Dembele could be sold if they choose to move on and we can’t allow them to leave for cheap

Not including Edouard but there is potentially 11 players that could leave.

4.) 09 May 2018 14:35:54
Stan my point is that we need to add a few quality players in specific areas and try to ship out some guys who won't get a game in order to free up wages etc. Rangers on the other hand need a complete clear out and Gerrard will probably need to bring in double figures with the same going the other way, similar to Lennon's first full season with us.

5.) 09 May 2018 14:38:24
You forgot to mention Boyata, Simunovic, Miller and Bitton all of whom could also leave.

6.) 09 May 2018 14:41:06
Oh i forgot Kouassi and Hayes that makes a total of 17 players who could potentially leave.

7.) 09 May 2018 15:01:50
Eboue won’t leave neither will Hayes. The only reason Eboue doesn’t get a game is because Brown is in front of him.

8.) 09 May 2018 15:10:14
I'm with you now Kev, agree with that. Hard enough to shift any player under contract nevermind ones that are dross so i think Sevco will struggle with their mass clearance. Jonace i can't see Kouassi leaving, one of our best players v PSG at CP and unlucky not to keep his place but that is because Ntcham and others have been outstanding. Kouassi is good enough to make it at CP. Maybe a loan would do him good look at the effect it had on Ajer. We definitely need to get him playing regulary.

9.) 09 May 2018 16:38:56
Hayes should never have been bought. A total farce, but I think Kouassi has a player in him.

10.) 09 May 2018 18:22:31
Hayes is a good cover player he can play anywhere down the left and will put in a shift domestically. Hard worker which Rodgers clearly likes. Pity he had an injury or I’d imagine we would have seen more of him.

11.) 10 May 2018 11:04:51
He was awful every single game he played. £1.3m and wages down the drain. The money we have wasted on him and Go Figure would be half the money needed to actually buy Paddy.

We might have more money but wasting it is criminal on guys who are clearly not good enough to play for us right now, never mind if we want to improve.

Stop wasting money on duds or that financial power will be wasted if it’s tied up in players nowhere near what we need.

08 May 2018 14:13:25
Now to Celtic FC I hope the appointment of SG will encourage DD to release funds to bring one or two outstanding players to the club, however i still believe we are strong enough at this moment to win the league next year.
I watched Tony Ralston last night and he looked ready for our first team. He was by far the most sound player in a poor Dundee Utd team
Replacements may be needed for De vires, Gamboa, Boyata, Simunoic, Commper, Armstrong, Rogic, Roberts, Dembele and Edouard. But i hope some of these may yet sign up for next season.
SPL players McGinn and McKenna plus Ralston, Christie and Morgan would fill some positions in the Squad.
I would like to see a really commanding centre half and cover for Tierney.

1.) 08 May 2018 14:36:46
Why would the appointment of a novice coach at a team that is a basket case with very little revenue have any affect on our club?

2.) 08 May 2018 15:28:17
kev I appreciate it's easy to deride sg for having no management experience but let's wait and see what happens over the summer as complacency could be our downfall. Our standards undoubtedly have slipped this season and I'd like to see us move forward with positive investment as Europe needs major investment to reach group stages let alone avoid humpings in group stage. I'd also like to see strong leadership about players coming in and players leaving as waiting till end of window is nonsense when we need a settled team for July qualiifiers.

3.) 08 May 2018 15:32:56
what kinda sevconian nonsense is that? Shell out because an under 18 coach has MAYBE taken over at ibrokes? Whatever that tawdry cheapskate mess does will not affect us in the slightest.

4.) 08 May 2018 15:50:07
No idea why you have McKenna in there? He's a terrible centre back Hendry is already leagues ahead of him.

5.) 08 May 2018 16:36:59
Thank God you're not in charge of our club Jonace. McGinn and McKenna come on, no place in our squad for dross like that. Out of the players you mentioned Gamboa and Commper will probably be away but i expect 5 of the other 7 still to be here maybe even them all. To suggest of any threat from the Sevies is just nonsense.

6.) 08 May 2018 17:01:15
Apology about McGinn, for some daft reason I was thinking you meant Niall 😫 would take John in a heartbeat👍.

7.) 08 May 2018 17:14:52
The humpings in Europe were more to do with getting the tactics and selection wrong on the night, than anything else.

8.) 08 May 2018 18:19:55
The simple fact is The Rangers don't have enough revenue to compete with us
Just like we don't have enough to compete with the likes of PSG.
Ye the odd game will be won but over time we will always come out on top.
Doesn't matter if Gerard good or not he's competing against hibs and the dons not us.
Keep hearing people compare him to Souness or barnes but both miss the mark
If you want to compare him to anyone it's LIAM BRADY and the same out come is a certainty.

9.) 08 May 2018 18:23:48
Aindoh followed our fortunes in Europe on Radio and thinks tactics were to blame .
Personally, mi blame the draws we got for both our group Champions League .
I reckon there were many groups much easier and groups that we could be more competitive . Take Liverpool's group for instance we would have had no real fear of either the first two seeds and would have had reasonable expectations of results from both of the top two .
The other factor is that we are a very young team, in the Champions League, and as many of our key players mature and hopefully with more realistic draws we can become more competitive, but Aindoh don't expect us to get much praise on the Radio.

10.) 08 May 2018 19:45:08
Not convinced that Christie will improve us and see him as an a squad player. U never know though a year under BR may bring him in like CMcG and JF. We need to be thinking Europe tho and he, Morgan etc will not cut it in CL this year.

{Ed007's Note - Players like Morgan and Christie aren't coming in to play in the CL, well maybe some game time in the qualifiers but they're to play domestically and hopefully they'll become CL or EL players for us in a couple of years time.}

11.) 08 May 2018 23:05:21
OMC, so you think the tactics and team selection were right?, you think playing against the most expensive, most skillfully talented players the planet has ever seen hype, the "we will do well to keep the score down attitude", is right?, and if you think all that, and you watched the games, think I will keep watching it on the radio with my eyes shut.

12.) 08 May 2018 22:28:03
Ed, when did we sign Christie? Watched him a few times this year including tonight and imo will be behind our current wingers and midfielders. This time next year I think he will be gone.

05 May 2018 20:57:29
i was thinking of the progress that Celtic FC had made in the last 60 years
We have generally had some very good managers Stein, McNeil, Hay, Brady Burns, Venglos, Jannsen, O'Neil, Strachan, Lennon, and Rogers. Yes even Delia brought through some very good players.

We sometimes were let down by the owners but we seem to have put that behind us and now appear on a steady road and that is important to maintain. We have seen the pitfalls of greed and selfishness in other clubs and do not want our club to be lost to crooks.

We are now the preeminent club in Scotland.

1.) 05 May 2018 22:29:11

2.) 05 May 2018 22:37:08
I would not consider Liam Brady or Dr Jo, good Managers, for Celtic anyway. But the rest of your post i agree with.

3.) 06 May 2018 07:46:47
Venglos definitely had an eye for a player.

4.) 06 May 2018 09:12:15
Dr jo brought in lubo so will always be in my heart but Brady was a disaster.

02 May 2018 20:30:26
I was wondering not who but what positions we would strengthen in the summer
Central Defender
Possible two of the outfield players
This assumes that the loans of Roberts and Edouard become permanent.

1.) 02 May 2018 20:50:18
I’ve said it before Lustig has been a great servant to the club and while very much aware we’re not a registered charity Lustig should be allowed to see out the rest of his career at Celtic Park even if more of a bit part player rather than guaranteed first team starter as the years go by. Another Swede whose heart will always lie in the east end of Glasgow and whose antics most notably beach ball on head running past the budgie in 5-1 game and borrowing the Polis hat on Sunday will be things of legend. ☘️.

2.) 02 May 2018 22:46:40
On a reduced wage he would be an able deputy for another rb. Once his contract is up for renewal of course. He gets it, and if it was up to me he'd be here till the end, it's good to have foreign players that have bought into it to lead an example to the young foreign guys coming in, the fact that he's funny as **** just makes him even more likable.

3.) 03 May 2018 06:12:52
Lustig hasn't been great this year--but maybe he'll get a good close-season and have brilliant run next year. He ain't that old, and its probably something to do with the many career-threatening injuries he's had.

4.) 03 May 2018 07:49:26
Lustig has been a great servant to the club over his tenure. I think he should be kept as cover, young Ralston should kick on this year, for one reason. As stated above he gets it. People like that from abroad are rare.

5.) 03 May 2018 09:55:30
Lustig will have no problem seeing out his contract. He might not start every game next season but having him available to play at RB and possibly fill in at CB if required will do us no harm. He has earned the right to leave when his contract expires and no sooner.

6.) 03 May 2018 11:38:23
Mibi we could get that top class German keeper for Bayern, Ulreich I think his name is.
Can u imagine if CG made that mistake lol.

7.) 03 May 2018 10:59:09
We can’t hope Ralston will kick on. We need a player who already has. If Ralston is as good as some think, he willmake the position his own. If he doesn’t we have a good RB that we need now. Not down the line, right now. And that applies to the CH situation. Projects don’t work in the CL. They put the table of teams who lost the most goals in the CL up before the Liverpool game.

We of course topped it.

We need players who can stop that. Not players who might. Or, it’s same old story next season.

I live near Bournemouth and you would not believe the arrogance of English supporters. When you ask why KT would leave a great club like Celtic they reply but it is the Premier League as if it is the Holy Grail. PL is not the Greatest league nor does it have the best players in the world. No matter what some people might say. It is no different than it was 50 years ago it still relies upon foreign players to make up the squads which are larger than in Scotland which means more competition. Yes it pays better but money is not everything pride happiness and success can be just as important.

I disagree with your ethos. Arsenal have always given their managers a good chance to prove themselves. At least 3 years, However they are now looking at leagues bigger than Scotland That is their mistake BR would be great for them but as all foreign owned PL clubs, they cannot see further than the end of their face.

Ntcham is young and yet too develop gie him time. Remember Stilian and Armstong last year, It is a shame Koussi is not fit i thought he was just starting to show what he was capable off reminded me of Wanyama when he first arrived. I am sure BR will pick the best middle to front he can. lt is not the midfield that worries me it is the defence. I would like to see three at the back with Lusnig in there but do you go with Boyata and Simunovic or use Tierney.

He (Macgregor) seemed to go up a notch today and could turn into the best midfielder in Scotland sorry Europe.
