AEK Athens if we beat Rosenburg. First leg at Celtic Park.

Ice Man

1.) 23 Jul 2018 11:32:05
Not a bad draw to be fair.

2.) 23 Jul 2018 12:01:28
Let's hope they're not as good as they used to be. eufa making it harder and harder for us.

3.) 23 Jul 2018 12:30:11
To be fair that's the one draw I didn't want. Hopefully some reinforcements before the tie as this is a potential banana skin.

4.) 23 Jul 2018 12:35:31
Hardest team in the pot.

{Ed007's Note - Bollocks!}

5.) 23 Jul 2018 12:37:51
As long as we don’t get Red Star Belgrade we should be fine imo.

6.) 23 Jul 2018 16:21:03
Will this be their first competitive match?

{Ed007's Note - Yeah, with a new manager and they've also lost their CB pairing and star striker from last year.}

7.) 23 Jul 2018 17:45:37
I just think it's bollocks that we have to go through this amount of qualifying rounds to get into the CL And play the Quality of teams that we have to get to it yet England Spain Germany have something like 4 teams? Already Qualified with some of them not played in the CL for quite some time its just not right.

8.) 23 Jul 2018 17:56:47
What was the other teams we could've got.

9.) 23 Jul 2018 20:54:10
The draw is what it is. It probably could have been easier but it could've been worse. Conecentrate on the Norwegians then think about the Greeks. Both will be worrying more about us that's for sure.

10.) 24 Jul 2018 13:08:28
Pardon my ignorance but how have the Greeks got a better coefficient standing than us?

{Ed007's Note - They have more teams picking up coefficient points for the country on top of Olympiacos (29) CL participation while in Scotland we only have Celtic picking up any notable points. Look at AEK who got to the Last 32 of the EL last season with a record of 2 wins, 8 draws and no losses compared to TRIFC and Progress
As individual clubs Celtic are ranked 47th in the coefficient table (POAK are only two places behind us) and AEK are 123rd, the next Scottish team is Aberdeen who are in 236th place.
I'd be more worried if we had to play Olympiacos but thanks to their president being a nutter it's worked out quite well for us.
If anyone had offered me Alashkert, Rosenborg and AEK before a ball was kicked I'd have bitten their hand off.}

11.) 24 Jul 2018 15:28:12
Cheers Ed!

{Ed007's Note - No probs buddy.}

12.) 24 Jul 2018 21:46:02
So what Kind of teams can we get in the last qualifier?

10 May 2018 19:11:04
First piece of the jigsaw for next season. Scott Bain signs 4 year deal.

Ice Man

1.) 10 May 2018 20:53:57
Good signing which keeper is leaving now De Vrise I take it?

2.) 10 May 2018 21:13:12
Let's hope so.

31 Aug 2017 18:02:38
Rivaldo Coetzee has signed for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa. That puts paid to any thoughts of him joining in the January window.

Ice Man

1.) 31 Aug 2017 18:07:48
Not necessarily.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 21:48:12
Do they not do medicals in South Africa? 😳.

07 Aug 2017 13:03:16
Reports in France say Monaco winger Alan Saint-Maxamin is having a medical with Nice ahead of tonights deadline. Could it be that Paddy had said "Thanks for the interest lads but it's time for me to head home" 🤞🙏🏻😉.

Ice Man

1.) 07 Aug 2017 13:34:22
Hope so iceman. Be absolutely gutted if we can't get wee paddy back in the hoops.

2.) 07 Aug 2017 14:14:47
Just a report in the French media Gerry don't know how true it is. Just seen Chris Davies has said they are in constant contact with Paddy and Man City and hope a deal can be done.

3.) 07 Aug 2017 15:43:16
And they've signed sneijder as well.

4.) 07 Aug 2017 16:04:57
Seen chris davies press conference and thought it was quite positive about paddy.

16 Jan 2017 12:07:17
With Barry, Guey, Schiederlin and potentially Davis all ahead of James McCarthy and with Koeman admitting he could move on in this window, are we a realistic destination for the boy or is he likely to end up at Palace or WBA who have both shown interest in the past? There was a lot of noise about him only wanting to come to Celtic in the summer but that may have been hearsay!

Ice Man

1.) 16 Jan 2017 14:10:09
In all honesty I think he's going to end up at a mid table English team they'll pay the 15 million no bother they will want to get money in after buying Schiderlin and we'd only be interested in a 6 month loan I think Rodgers has other targets hence Eboue I hope I'm wrong but can't see it at all.

I have a feeling Rodgers will try to buy Kamberi in the January window and I'm not sure he would be the answer. Decent player but I would hope for a better quality striker. I think we'll buy and striker and bring in a second on loan. There's no way our board will spend money for two strikers.

Ice Man

1.) 16 Dec 2018 16:52:58
Can't see BR going for anybody from this league tbh. I said in the chat earlier, if there's truth in the Sol rumours I'd be happy with that as he'd offer a physical presence up top which could well bri g out the best in Eddy as well.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 18:09:21
The thing that bursts ma rectum is EVERY other team in the SPL has a centre forward (or two) that knows their job inside out and can hold the ball up, make runs and play others in - whereas we have big Oddsoaks who is starting to make Amido Balde, even Ciftci look good.
Maybe a proper centre forward beside him would help Eddy, but BR never plays two up front so probably not?
The last two games have shown our current weaknesses and if you look at the bigger picture, it's scary to think where we would be without Forrest and Christie goals recently.

16 Dec 2018 14:47:42
This is the first time in 2 and a half years that I have criticised Rodgers but today's result is on him. I've no idea why he decided to play 3 at the back. We are utterly hopeless playing that system. Some of the performances this season are nowhere good enough. This is not an overreaction to the result today, this has been building for months. 3 away wins in 9. There's no urgency or desire in the team. Hibs wanted it more than us today and got the result they deserved. Back to the slow boring build up
Play from the back with zero end product at the other end. Big Eddie never breaks out of a jog and Ntcham looks completely disinterested. Listen man for man we were poor all over the park. Christie and KT were a massive loss today with the energy levels and urgency they bring to the team. From an outstanding performance against Killie last week to that today. Consistency is a big problem and I hope we BR sorts it real soon.

Ice Man

1.) 16 Dec 2018 15:04:35
Eddy is the only striker we have so he's got to play but not does this boy need worked on he's so lethargic and loses the ball all the time he never protects it and ajer us another that is a work in progress needs to do more for me to safe.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 15:04:36
In fairness he admitted that in his interview. I'd have had one of Brown or Ntcham in CM next to McGregor and put Johnston further up. It's all well and good in hindsight and for us fans to criticise a double treble winning manager but I think most of us had a bad feeling about the team today.

14 Dec 2018 10:44:20
I'm a big fan of Edouard as I believe there's a real player there. He's still a young man and is developing but he really needs to step up his game espyin the absence of Griff. We looked like we had nothing going forward last night. I think an out and out striker should be a priority in January.

Ice Man

1.) 14 Dec 2018 11:13:00
I like eddy as a player but he’s def not a no9 much prefer to see him play behind a main striker was looking forward to seeing him and Dembele getting a good run together.

2.) 14 Dec 2018 11:49:37
Edouard is better out on the left, he's definitely not a No.9.

3.) 14 Dec 2018 11:49:41
To be fair we were pressed back a lot last night and our passing trying to get out was poor.
He was chasing after the ball but couldn't hold it up enough for support.

4.) 14 Dec 2018 12:08:31
Av said on here before his hold up play is not great but the boy can finish lot of work still to be done with him.

5.) 14 Dec 2018 12:51:53
Agree, Larsson would have scored a barrel load with Eduoard providing. Think we should be looking for a predator to come in January.

6.) 14 Dec 2018 14:37:32
Eduard like scott sinclair isn't a wide left player he is a young striker who needs to learn/ improve all aspects of his game his . we need a real left winger not another makeshift one.

7.) 14 Dec 2018 16:18:45
We need a hold up striker. Playing both together would work. He does the holding up and Edouard links play or gets slipped in. Agree he's a decent finisher and probably better on the left than up front on his own.

01 Nov 2018 17:45:17
Ed here's one to brighten your mood. Have you heard any potential targets for January's window? You mentioned Powell from Wigan will be in the list have you heard any others? I'd imagine with Dembele going and with Griffs fitness issues BR may well be looking to strengthen the striker department amongst others.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything mate.}

Bhoys let's not be too downhearted about tonight's result. We were always going to be up against it with the players we had missing. The likes of Christie and Morgan have never tasted football at this level. For me Sunday's game was always the priority.

Two points from me though Kouassi will never in a million years make it as a footballer at our club and big Jozo is made of chocolate (he didn't even seem to land awkwardly yet still got stretchered off)

Anyways on to Sunday let's tear into mini deco and reach yet another national final COYBIG.

Ice Man

1.) 25 Oct 2018 21:31:12
I thought Christie and Kouassi were our best players!

2.) 25 Oct 2018 22:02:09
Andy1969

It's all opinions but kouassi was a passenger IMO.

3.) 25 Oct 2018 22:59:56
I pray that Kouassi is nowhere near the match day squad on Sunday.

4.) 26 Oct 2018 00:36:22
Christie - like Morgan, McGregor and Gamboa were like wee bhoys against men and were out-muscled and bullied far too often.

5.) 26 Oct 2018 09:01:27
Andy are u taking the piss with that about kouassi? He was, is and continues to be utter rubbish! If he plays Sunday we lose. They will bully out of him.

Tim I agree with you I like the look of the lad Kamberi from what I’ve seen of him this season and last. However we’ve pulled in almost £20m for Dembele and I would like to see us aim a bit higher. I get spending bigger money on a player does not guarantee success. Knowing our board I would suggest a move for Kamberi would be more likely.

They were trying to sign McGiure late in the transfer window but he’s on a long term deal there so their bid was rejected.

I should rephrase that Tim I’m not suggesting you’ve made it up but I’m not convinced BR would be so open to your (and his pals) when discussing his players. BR is a wise man he knows how to play the game. So to reiterate I don’t believe any part of your post 😂.

I think if he was going to sign a new contract he would have done so long before now. For me he'll either be sold in Jan or away for free in the summer.

As Ed will testify to I’ve made no secret of the fact I’d love us to sign McCarthy. I honestly think he’ll struggle to get into the Everton team as they are overloaded with central midfielders and have been linked with Doucoure (who scored the winner against them tonight) and another French midfielder. I think McCarthy has the same battling qualities as Brown and is a ready made replacement for him and at just 27 he’s got his best years ahead of him. Obviously he’s not played a lot of football for a while due to injury so a wee loan in Jan with an option to buy would do me.

That f*nny Shinnie says Broony and Lustig lacked class then went on to say he refused to shake there hands and bitched about their behaviour instead of being gracious in defeat. That my friend is lacking class. What after every defat to us (which is normally 6 times a season) do they complain about the ref, our players and any other excuse they can think of rather than just hold their hands up and admit they are massively inferior to us. It’s beyond me.
