Just a thought (he did know a thing or two about successfully managing a club) .

"Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes. " (Brian Clough)

The world needs more men like him honest through and through sadly the game as changed for the worse drastically over the last 10 years it's all about money read what Juan mata said and he was bang on saying players get payed ridiculous amounts and don't live in reality he was embarrassed by the amount some players get especially so young.

Gordo yes some get paid too much . but why is it always football getting attacked is it because it's mostly you g working class guys . Why not newsreaders . actors. tv presenters . . owners of multi nationals etc etc how many times has the press / media (owned by billionaires ) criticised the amount of money bill Gates earns . plenty of people who wear the old school tie make vast amounts of mo ey . but the one group always vilified is footballers . and when all is said and done why doesn't mata just take the minimum wage and donate the rest to charity if it's that obscene to him.

I can see where you are coming from deep river but I think the reason we look at footballers different is because we can go out a kick a ball about ourselves and don't get paid also we aren't interested as the other stuff as we are football it was every boys or girls dream to run out playing for the team they grow up supporting some are lucky enough to do it and get paid for it some aren't.

Anyone think we will carry on the current trend of waiting to the last possible minute and hire some relative unknown again? On that note. Any of the outsiders u rumour addicts would like to take the helm? Not ridiculous outsiders of course. But genuine contenders. with our current board I would not be shocked at losing moyes to villa and us with erik black. Not to mention ripping the spine out our team again to fund the new gaffer.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

26 Apr 2016 22:35:30
Lonesome we cannot lose what we haven't got . There is no sound reason why we should think Moyes is our new manager . Rumours Rumours, may be true but likely just something to put on a page.
The spine of the team, on the basis of recent games I am not sure we have much to worry as most of our players wouldn't be missed and probably not wanted.

Clough was a great manager, who got more things right than he got wrong but when he got the tactics wrong, he would come out with a quote like that, because in his own eyes he was infallible.

Ed, just read an article and saw a name I've totally forgotten about - Tyler Blackett!

Is he still with us? I assume he's not been getting a look in because he's hopeless, as if he was injured he would just go back to man Utd.

He was dreadful against molde.

Wish him All the best but another example of a horrendous signing. WE NEED SND DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There was talk of Blackett going back to Utd in January but it never happened. I've no idea what's went wrong with him but Utd fans still say he was a decent player for them but I'm not buying it. Honking doesn't even cover it.}

26 Apr 2016 22:37:42
He seems to be a lost Bhoy . Maybe we should start an article about where are they now . Blackett, Janko, Cole and Izzy for starters.

{Ed007's Note - Janko will be off in the summer too, he's not like living up here and is desperate to get out.}

Any recommended apps for kodi?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Have you installed a build on your KODI? That's a theme with all the add-ons already on it. There's a bit of a civil war going on with the KODI add-on developers over third parties making money off of what they do for free and some of them have taken down their add-ons until it's sorted out. Because of this I'm not sure which add-ons are there and which aren't.}

26 Apr 2016 21:42:53
mate i got recommended the pulse build was going great but tonight really struggling to get streams, I've got the firestick and I've got to admit I'll probably go back to a wookie build.

26 Apr 2016 21:53:25
Just install either Wookie wizard or ares wizard on a fresh start kodi and pick a build. As ed says there seems to be a bit of a war going on in kodi world the now. For sly spurts and bt I find either cosmix , sports mix and uktvnow which are part of most of the builds best addons at the moment.

The Board should take note of the most successful Manager Celtic have ever had and who inspired and paved the way for Sir Alex F among others

"Without fans who pay at the turnstile, football is nothing. Sometimes we are inclined to forget that. The only chance of bringing them into stadiums is if they are entertained by what happens on the football field. " (Jock Stein)

And the players should also take note.
"There is no excuse for a professional footballer not to be 100% fit. " (Jock Stein)

And us, the fans.
"We do have the greatest fans in the world but I've never seen a fan score a goal. " (Jock Stein)

And he summarised people's obIf you're good enough, cheated.
"If you're good enough, the referee doesn't matter. " (Jock Stein)

Not at all surprised that john collins has been outed as trouble. He was an over bearing fool at hibs and thinks because he played in france he knows coaching better than anyone. he's a festering mould within the club. Jk only there for sympathy. Lawell is a disgrace but we know he won't walk away this year. Probably sell on alot, make a tidy amount on biton, keep ambrosr and sign a ton of midfielders before appointing malky f-in mackay with about 3 days left on the transfer window whilst letting broony.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

26 Apr 2016 22:16:01
I don't know how football clubs are run, but if indeed John Collins is this major disruption then why would Cfc not just get rid . The simple explanation for John Collins is that he's simply not good enough to coach or motivate players . Nothing sinister but just pure lack of coaching ability tactically and man to man.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 10:06:35
I would love to know how everyone knows this about Collins? Is it just speculation or is there hard proof or word of mouth by players? I know there was problems at Hibs but wheres the proof of this at Celtic?

I can't believe that supporters are including Armstrong in the close season cull. He's been playing out of position along with half of the squad for the last 18 months. Armstrong should be better utilised in the middle of the park where he played for Dundee utd. We can't possibly get rid of 30 players in the summer, and expect to hit the ground running. Totally unrealistic, our rebuilding is nothing to happen in one transfer window. It not fm16 afterall. I don't think we will see moyes, Rodgers, or some of the foreign coaches mentioned on here either. Di matteo is an interesting option, but who knows. We'd all like the board to flash the cash and get us in a top manager but chances are we will end up with either Keane, lennon, or someone like that. I know it'd probably be better to get a new man in but sevco done alright when Smith came bk, we could do worse than lennon or wgs. It's going to be a long few months until the board makes the next decision. Fingers crossed dd does the right thing this time. Are we really going to use a pink kit next year?

I agree in regards to Armstrong I would rather see him in central midfield for s run of games before judging him. He has been played as a left mid/ winger in every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 03:10:33
Playing out of position does not excuse the fact he's been hopeless in front of goal, poor first touch and poor passing ability in which he was rarely finding a man in a hooped shirt wit a pass in that position. He's also very weak both mentally and physically and won't make it as a Celtic player. Manager next season will barely play him as he doesn't have what it takes.

Agree to all above that no matter what colour you wear that you should always be safe at football.
Cprs i heard the jurors have literally been employed for 2 years mate by the system and some of them have had to get a Counciller involved due to the length and subject of the horrific misjustice.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Apr 2016 20:40:58
The way they were treated was awful, I heard on the radio tonight that the family of one of the victims saw their loved one in the gymnasium at Hillsborough, (which was being used as a mortuary) , he had a black bin liner over his head and he hadn't been pronounced dead.
I think the lack of dignity shown to the victims and their families on the actual day of the tragedy is one of the saddest things in this whole affair, I don't know how those responsible for this can sleep at night.
I am glad that the truth has finally come out, the tragedy of it is that it took 27 years, the families deserved far better than that.

The justice system in this country is in a terrible state, cover up after cover up to comply with a rotten to the core police force that is so far up its own arse to care about the protect and serve motto. It's been this way for far too long to change without a complete overhaul. Hope this is the start of it. YNWA 96

IMO I thinks we should be basing our team next season around -

Gordon - don't see him leaving and would be interesting to see if the lad Fasan could make a few appearences next season. Think there are higher prioritys to be sorted first aswell

Erik Sviatchenko - would make him captain, has a real touch of class, was captain of his previous team and think he will settle down a lot more next season (still been pleased with him so far)

Tierney - don't think his inclusion merits explaination

Rogic - IMO has done enough to merit a prolonged run at number 10. Great feet and looks fitter although still needs to build on fitness and could use his size more to shield the ball

Griffiths - goals have really saved us more embaresment this season. Has not done so well recently but could be argued is not getting great service.

I would still be looking to get a decent striker first and foremost to either play alongside Grittiths or to drop him to bench.

If Simovic gets injured again I'd punt him. new CB required regardless as well as a RB.

Brown, Bitton (who I think has been biggest dissapointment considering we know he has quality) , Lustig, Armstong and maybe GMS I would keep for the bench and to see how they do in a better squad (and if they could force thier way into the team) , although would not lose sleep if we sold all of them.

The boy Roberts we have till the end of next season anyway and think he could be useful ecspecially with a full pre-season under his belt.

The rest IMO can go. Would any poster like to keep anyone else from this squad or disagree with any of the inclusions? Realise a few may target Gordon, but I have included him as I don't see him leaving and think he would improve with a better defence infront of him.

Mulgrew purely for his versatility. He's not the best but he's good enough for domestic competitions and has plenty of experience in different positions. He can provide cover across the back or DM in case of injuries or suspensions.

26 Apr 2016 13:16:46
I would like to see Armstrong in central midfield. Was never a left winger at Dundee Utd and seems to have lost confidence playing on the wing.

26 Apr 2016 13:46:48
I'd like to see Henderson and Nesbitt given a chance next season, they are out on loan because we have an endless amount of midfielders. Throw them into the pre season games and let them develop in our team like Tierney has.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Apr 2016 15:13:41
Totally agree Stan would have Nesbitt in the squad and from the small bits I've seen of Henderson for Hibs this season I don't think he'll be far off a starting place considering what's around him atm.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 15:57:26
We have been over-reliant on Griffiths all season and although he has excelled himself, if he has a bad day or a dry spell, we struggle for goals and CKR, Ciftci, Scepovic and Cole, are guff.
Gordon was very disappointing for most of the season - especially in the first few months and we really need quality competition if Bailly [who has been given very few games] is not the answer?
There are enough midfield players for the new manager to pick and choose - depending on what system/ formation he prefers, but obviously there will be a few seeking new clubs.
Henderson, Christie, Armstrong and Allen need to be given games in their proper positions as you say, to see what they can do.
Right back, cover for centre back, striker, ball-winner and goalkeeper would be the start of the wanted list IMO.

Charlie Mulgrews "versatility" is what has totally screwed his reputation. He is a CB all day long and the minute he got moved from there it all went pear shaped.

I would send roberts back to man city . If big offer comes for biton let him go . Brown should be given free transfer .

Agree1 Disagree2

26 Apr 2016 16:48:44
Giving a free transfer to our best player for about 8 years doesn't make sense to me O k we know he has been rotten since his return from injury, however it's most likely this is a temporary drop in form . We want to keep the players who have proved successful in the past, as we want to win the league next season too.
Not only has the Celtic managers always regarded S B as there number 1 midfielder but so to has all the Scottish managers of the last 8/ 9 years.

Agree0 Disagree3

26 Apr 2016 17:18:43
We need a new RB ideally one that can play RCB too. A CDM that can play CB too as our defence seem too injury prone. A winger that can play on either flank hopefully Elyounoussi as he can play anywhere behind the striker mainly LW and scores a lot. And 2 strikers one being a big strong target man. Would be happy to punt Stokes, Scepovic, Ciftci, Cole, CKR, Commons, Ambrose, Lustig, Johansen first and foremost. But there is plenty remaining that could do with being upgraded on like Brown Biton Boyata Gordon GMS Mulgrew Allen. But that's basically the whole team.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 18:51:14
If we could get Elyounoussi I would be delighted, but think that ship has sailed unfortunatly.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Apr 2016 22:48:23
Falkirkball, neither or I know that . As I said he is playing below his best since he came back from injury . Scott is still relatively young and having represented the club and his Country honourable it would be very crass to give him a free just now . We have probably in excess of 20 professional players we would be better getting moved on before our best player of this decade .
Maybe you have some stupid anti S Brown feeling going back to before he joined Celtic . Why not at least give him 6 mths to prove himself, he at least deserves that.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 05:33:11
Lol your dreaming mate ( best player of this decade ) I've always liked brown for his tanacity and drive but face it he's not the same player anymore there's no room for sentiment nowadays and i hold my hands up shouldn't have said a free transfer but def needs to be let go . Ps the one incident that made was not the goal he scored against rangers but his reaction to that animal diouf were the broonie stance came from so maybe your one off the folk blinded by that incident that makes you think he's been out best player in the last decade.

So we're apparently looking at Ola Aina from Chelsea to replace Lustig? If there's anything to the story then who's behind the move? RD is off and as far as anyone is aware we don't have a new manager set up. This would surely prove beyond all doubt who's really pulling the strings and making the signings at the club and would be a major warning sign to potential new managers.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

26 Apr 2016 11:07:53
Would still like it to be true looks a real talent, but agree has already happened with Gordon when RD arrived and find it hard to beleive RD would have seen enough of the 2 Utd lads to offer pre contracts when we did.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 11:20:50
Yeah Tompo88 we still need to be scouting etc. and tbh Lustig probably will need replaced considering he's looked a yard slower this season and he won't get a break because of the Euros. The bit that got me was that apparently his wage demands were too high. If that's true then it's gotten a bit further than just scouting.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Apr 2016 11:45:12
Ut s veen well documented that a lot of Chelski's kids are on 30k+. I'm all up for us breaking the wage cap, but for a player like this? Not so sure.

Obviously he's had injuries but is it safe to assume at this stage that Janko is another who hasn't been pulling his weight? Was looking forward to him getting a string of games.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 12:19:40
Agree Kev. I was gutted to hear from ED the other week thant Janko apparently wants to go back to England. He has been out ALL season and has not proved anything yet. Was looking foward to seeing him getting a run, but TBH if that's his attitude could realling be doing without players like that in the squad.

Kevbhoy is it possible new manager is already in place and targeting the areas we need to strengthen? Could it also be that Lawell, s visit to dressing room was to inform the players of this fact, but not to who it is and that he is watching and already msking decisions for next season and CLQ, and has received s full dossier prepared by RD. So they are under no illusions. RD is only there as token to allow him to lift the league. To sack a manager on route to winning the league irrespective of performances should not be deprived of that and would imo be morally and professionally very poor. Nobody is going to sanction a transfer in current circumstances, unless we register interest to allow the incoming manager opp to say yes or no?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 17:31:34
This boy from Chelsea is apparently looking for a king's ransom to come to Celtic, if amounts are true, he won't become a bhoy .
There is only a certain amount of work anyone person can do and that includes the manager . To me the most important role of manager is to make sure he has a, very fit, well motivated, well coached team playing his tactics . In all these he needs help and although he may or may not rubber stamp all new recruits, that's really all he can do as others have to do the spade work in determining whether the prospect is the right man for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 18:07:48
Kwaj it's a possibility but as I said in my OP, nobody seems to be aware of any preliminary talks with potential managers never mind a done deal and I find it highly unlikely that the club have managed to set up such an agreement without anybody getting a sniff of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2016 21:26:18
kwaj, if our past record of recruiting managers or players is anything to go by then there is NO CHANCE that we have a manager lined up who is already scouting.
