seen a post on celticnewsnow earlier where ex celtic scout neil mcguiness picked 5 players out he thought could do a job in a rodgers type system. 1 really stood out, a guy playing in poland called bartosz kapustka. can play either flank, behind the striker or in a more central midfield role. he's at the euros with poland , obviously wed need to ship out midfielders first but this guy looks really good on the ball.

Would love it to happen but he'll go to a richer club. He's rated as one of the best young talents going to France, a good tournament will see him go elsewhere.

2.) 09 Jun 2016 19:34:54
Who were the other 4 Wayne?

3.) 09 Jun 2016 20:00:03
I would have preferred the young Belgian DM they keep producing these powerhouse DM's! Polish boy would probably cost more than stated!

4.) 09 Jun 2016 20:56:12
what does it matter what an ex Celtic scout thinks no offence but until Rodger's himself or someone from his back room staff says anything it means nothing in my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - he did have a big hand in picking Wanyama and Van Dijk, at least that's how he tells it and I have no reason to doubt him.}

5.) 09 Jun 2016 22:20:03
he may have had a hand in that but unless he has Rodger's ear it matter's not his opinion means as much as mine or yours at this point not trying to pour cold water on this but in my opinion his comments mean nothing just another ex celt giving his opinion doesn't mean we will get any of these players.

Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi - 19 - Defensive midfielder - Genk

Nicolai Jorgensen - 25 - Striker – Copenhagen

Nikola Vukcevic - 24 - Defensive midfielder - Braga

Giovanni Sio - 27 - Striker – Rennes

These were the other players.

7.) 10 Jun 2016 15:59:55
Another Ndidi then!

I'd never heard of the Australian manager ange before, whilst being an underwhelming choice for most, he has won honours for multiple clubs in the Australian league, guided his international team to a trophy and 2 wc qualifications and won league in Japan. Most former players of his report he plays attacking brand of football, whilst the Japanese team is part of the city group and he will have knowledge of within there scouting network you'd think to some degree. Hopefully contacts within city groups other clubs also. He wasn't by any means the initial choice but if its really a done deal I'm 100% with him. And I hope everyone who's done spending anymore on Celtic if he's the manager doesn't renew season tickets so I can maybe get one!

Sinclair was out of form before lenny was installed again, has too wait his chance like everyone else, and when he gets it, takes it. Like Christie has, and mikey j.

1.) 26 Aug 2019 10:16:50
Yep agreed and a few others. If Lenny gets his way a few new signings coming in and they are ready so more competition. So as all Celtic players will have to work hard to be the best and get a game maybe we are going the right way.

2.) 26 Aug 2019 11:12:52
wayne9303, do really believe what you have written.
Sinclair's back heeled goal, could only have been scored by someone who knew what he was doing. Morgan and to a lesser extent Johnston wouldn't have even thought about scoring like that, let alone trying to.

Great finish from Forrest, done a decent job as stand in up top, any idea who we possibly could face after tonight's results, id love a crack at legia warsaw although I'm sure there should b more favourable opposition surely. Can't remember the last time i watched an away game in Europe without biting the nails from both hands, well done bhoys hh.

1.) 02 Aug 2017 22:08:15
Now get off Forrests back. If you count how many times that Bhoy has come up with a goal that has got us through in Europe when no one else could then he has paid his wages on that alone. He is not perfect but what do you expect for £12k a week. He is good value. Well done James.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 22:09:11
They're knocked out bud.

3.) 05 Aug 2017 17:53:19
Warsaw are out are they not?

For any of the fans who currently have a season ticket, and aren't happy with lawell or Desmond over this transfer window due to lack of signings. I'll buy your season ticket, seeing as I'm happy with how things have went. I'm also still super enthusiastic for the season ahead!
Our new signings have improved the team,

wayne9303

1.) 31 Aug 2016 21:53:18
Why do you not just buy a season ticket anyway?

27 Aug 2016 02:42:35
Don't know about value, wages etc if he's well out of our means but trippier of Tottenham would be a great signing at rb, don't think he gets much game time due to kyle Walker. Also rangel from Swansea but think he's at the wrong end of his career now, rb got to be a priority, if only we could find another Jackie mac that could play both right and left fb equally competent.

Paterson.

2.) 27 Aug 2016 08:14:39
Not sure about the right back situation. Still think Lustig is a good player and could be key in the CL when we may be camped in our own half for long spells against city and barca. Domestically janko will do against most teams, while playing a 3 5 2 would mean that roberts or forrest play there and we won't need a right back anyway. If we only sign one player it'll be a centre mid. Rodgers aims to have as much of the ball as possible so the other night will have been a real worry to him as our midfield was non existent.

Because he can't get gamd time at wesbrom he ain't a decent player? Everyone that watches epl football knows pullis prefers strapping solid looking full backs, bigbhoy you are ultra negative! The guys not even signed yet and your already knocking him and blaming who ever signed him, it was br decision to sign him not Park and lawell, give over with this crap bhoy.
Played at the world cup recently so has a decent pedigree, from clips I've seen he looks like he can defend better than janko, lightening quick, csn cross a ball, and also has a decent shot on him. Time will tell if he comes good for us but let's back the bhoy if he signs.

Hh.

Rogic is our am this year, why go sign another? Makes no sense lol Tommy rogic is a fine player, maybe he isn't lubo. By my reckoning there can only ever be 1 lubo!
Rogic made great strides last year, and has continued this form onto this year. Every celtic fan I speak to was desperate for the lad to stay and to get more game time.

Wisdom might not be cafu but he's definitely an upgrade on what we have, as for the marquee signing. I don't think anyone from the club came out and said there would be this type signing. Going mental on forums because we aren't spending loads of money on a marquee signing. wtf, get a grip, br will build the squad over a few transfer windows. Does spending big on a player guarantee he is going to win us trophies? Every year towards the end of the window we start this marquee nonsense. Give over. i'd be happy with wisdom and maybe 1 more. Reign it in bhoys. Trust in the management.

Obviously commons wouldn't be chuffed about being benched but this was a tactical decision. Sure scott brown said not too long ago the training was great, but I agree withlast message, I would sell kc he is too slow, and our last chance to obtain a fee for a 30+ player

Tbh they'll all be difficult ties, but at the same time I'd be confident of progressing no matter who we draw from this list, a little worried bout cb with Erik's injury, hopefully a hungry ajer will stake a claim if used. Hh.

Well said jim!
Jamesbhoy get a hold of yourself, you don't know if there's anyone on their way, if there's deals in place, just because it hasn't been reported on the news yet doesn't mean there's nothing in the pipeline.
Supporters like you boil my blood, toure might be 35 but he's a great signing, it's been a good window SO far, your a fantasist. try living in the real world bhoyo.

One more in this window, then hopefully by January we have shifted some of the surplus players in the squad to make room for better quality. Even if we signed 4 more we wouldn't compete against top European sides this year. We need to make strides over the next 3 windows buying quality when it's available, not just making the same mistakes as previous years and buying for the sake of buying. Rodgers spoke of 2 more just before we signed de vries, that leaves 1 more signing.

id have to agree with some of the above posters, it is probably likely that we will concede, but i'm going for a score draw, hapoel will come at us, and with sinclair, griff, forest. our pace is going to cause them problems on the break.
for me a back 4 of lustig toure erik tierney should tighten things up a bit, o'connell has done a great job but i would go for erik in this instance.
