seen a post on celticnewsnow earlier where ex celtic scout neil mcguiness picked 5 players out he thought could do a job in a rodgers type system. 1 really stood out, a guy playing in poland called bartosz kapustka. can play either flank, behind the striker or in a more central midfield role. he's at the euros with poland , obviously wed need to ship out midfielders first but this guy looks really good on the ball.

Would love it to happen but he'll go to a richer club. He's rated as one of the best young talents going to France, a good tournament will see him go elsewhere.

2.) 09 Jun 2016 19:34:54
Who were the other 4 Wayne?

3.) 09 Jun 2016 20:00:03
I would have preferred the young Belgian DM they keep producing these powerhouse DM's! Polish boy would probably cost more than stated!

4.) 09 Jun 2016 20:56:12
what does it matter what an ex Celtic scout thinks no offence but until Rodger's himself or someone from his back room staff says anything it means nothing in my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - he did have a big hand in picking Wanyama and Van Dijk, at least that's how he tells it and I have no reason to doubt him.}

5.) 09 Jun 2016 22:20:03
he may have had a hand in that but unless he has Rodger's ear it matter's not his opinion means as much as mine or yours at this point not trying to pour cold water on this but in my opinion his comments mean nothing just another ex celt giving his opinion doesn't mean we will get any of these players.

6.) 10 Jun 2016 00:53:02
Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi - 19 - Defensive midfielder - Genk

Nicolai Jorgensen - 25 - Striker – Copenhagen

Nikola Vukcevic - 24 - Defensive midfielder - Braga

Giovanni Sio - 27 - Striker – Rennes

These were the other players.

7.) 10 Jun 2016 15:59:55
Another Ndidi then!

For any of the fans who currently have a season ticket, and aren't happy with lawell or Desmond over this transfer window due to lack of signings. I'll buy your season ticket, seeing as I'm happy with how things have went. I'm also still super enthusiastic for the season ahead!
Our new signings have improved the team,

1.) 31 Aug 2016 21:53:18
Why do you not just buy a season ticket anyway?

27 Aug 2016 02:42:35
Don't know about value, wages etc if he's well out of our means but trippier of Tottenham would be a great signing at rb, don't think he gets much game time due to kyle Walker. Also rangel from Swansea but think he's at the wrong end of his career now, rb got to be a priority, if only we could find another Jackie mac that could play both right and left fb equally competent.

1.) 27 Aug 2016 06:21:09
Paterson.

2.) 27 Aug 2016 08:14:39
Not sure about the right back situation. Still think Lustig is a good player and could be key in the CL when we may be camped in our own half for long spells against city and barca. Domestically janko will do against most teams, while playing a 3 5 2 would mean that roberts or forrest play there and we won't need a right back anyway. If we only sign one player it'll be a centre mid. Rodgers aims to have as much of the ball as possible so the other night will have been a real worry to him as our midfield was non existent.

26 Aug 2016 20:30:32
Think our signing will happen last day, when epl teams have submitted there squads and there might be a gem or two available, with champions league on offer we now have a better offering for such players, only stumbling block would be wages for such players.
Can't remember which area is left for season tickets but if anyone knows offhand, looking at the view from seat on the celtic tickets page there is a restricted view, was just wondering if it's as severe as it looks on there. Even though I work every Saturday I'm contemplating buying the season ticket as I really want to go to the European games and maybe old firm, been to all home matches this season so far, but bn told unless I have a season ticket I'd most probably not get tickets for these matches.

Stay away from EPL, over priced and over rated.

Scour Europe for talent at a realistic price.

2.) 26 Aug 2016 22:26:34
We have just got 2 players who played in EPL last year and those 2 player showed what we need the on wed night. Experience at high levels.

3.) 26 Aug 2016 22:50:23
Exactly toure sinclair? We will hopefully get a couple in and still a few out? Zombies showed their true quality tonight i hear average at best roll on 10th september 🍀🍀🍀.

4.) 26 Aug 2016 23:22:54
Real terms Kolo was a free and Sinclair played for a championship club.

22 Aug 2016 11:43:19
cant say i'm even bothered about any new imminent signings at the moment, just enjoying the start to the season and how the team is developing under br and his management team. just concentrating on tuesday nights game and then we will see what happens before the window closes, obviously i'd like another 1 or 2 but it won't be the end of the world if he waits until winter window to get more in, don't think we need to strengthen to win the scotish league, but it will take more than one window to strengthen for european football anyway.

Bn reading a lot of fans think we need another rb. Don't you think lustig, janko, and Ralston is enough, at least till January window. then that particular position can be looked at then. Lustig has played cb but with toure, Erik, oconnell, and simunovic on the mend, we probably have enough defenders just now. Young ajer, McCart coming through also. We maybe need a quality central midfielder but only if we can shift a few from this area first. I'd think we maybe need another striker, with only Griffiths and dembele really of the standard to play every week on the books. It's s long season to go with just two first team forwards.

wayne9303

1.) 14 Aug 2016 15:27:42
Agree 100% Wayne we have adequate cover at right back but need a central midfielder and indeed a striker (big man) . All eggs in one basket with Grifiths and Dembelle still raw talent that will in time come good.

2.) 14 Aug 2016 15:33:16
I'd hate to see us lose Lustig a season or two early due to forcing him to play RB for much longer. His injuries speak for themselves. I'd say his perfect position would be right side of a back 3.

3.) 14 Aug 2016 15:55:59
Lustig has his injury problems
Janko has also had his injury problems and is very raw and untested at this level. Plus I ain't convinced he is a defender.
Ralston again is young and untested at this level so I would like another RB to be honest.

4.) 14 Aug 2016 17:31:12
Folks

It's not a numbers game. Yes we have lots and lots of players with the CB and RB labels but there is always room for good ones or better ones, no?

5.) 14 Aug 2016 17:53:52
The cripple Lustig played 46 times last season . Can't be too bad for a player who is forced to play in his best position .

6.) 14 Aug 2016 18:00:56
I don't think we have had a proper right back since Mathews.
I know Lustig has played there often, but apart from his injury history and fragility in the tackle, I really think he is a much better central defender as he can be dragged all over the place when he is out wide.
Janko is still relatively untested and although he is good going forward, I think he has the same defensive flaws as Izzaguire, when he plays on the left side of defense.

7.) 14 Aug 2016 22:38:30
Who said anywhere Lustig was a cripple?
Yes Lustig played 46 games last year but it is well known and was pretty evident that he wasn't fully fit for a lot of them.
If there was cover I believe he would have been rested a lot more than he was.
Lustig I rated highly and would be my main right back for the season ahead but I would still like another player brought in to cover and compete with him.

8.) 15 Aug 2016 00:04:36
Lustig played 46 times last season and there is no evidence that his performance has been impaired by injury . With your first choice playing near 50 times and two back-ups already at club, why would we want further back- ups or players for that one position Have we not got positions on team less covered.

Because he can't get gamd time at wesbrom he ain't a decent player? Everyone that watches epl football knows pullis prefers strapping solid looking full backs, bigbhoy you are ultra negative! The guys not even signed yet and your already knocking him and blaming who ever signed him, it was br decision to sign him not Park and lawell, give over with this crap bhoy.
Played at the world cup recently so has a decent pedigree, from clips I've seen he looks like he can defend better than janko, lightening quick, csn cross a ball, and also has a decent shot on him. Time will tell if he comes good for us but let's back the bhoy if he signs.

Hh.

Rogic is our am this year, why go sign another? Makes no sense lol Tommy rogic is a fine player, maybe he isn't lubo. By my reckoning there can only ever be 1 lubo!
Rogic made great strides last year, and has continued this form onto this year. Every celtic fan I speak to was desperate for the lad to stay and to get more game time.

Wisdom might not be cafu but he's definitely an upgrade on what we have, as for the marquee signing. I don't think anyone from the club came out and said there would be this type signing. Going mental on forums because we aren't spending loads of money on a marquee signing. wtf, get a grip, br will build the squad over a few transfer windows. Does spending big on a player guarantee he is going to win us trophies? Every year towards the end of the window we start this marquee nonsense. Give over. i'd be happy with wisdom and maybe 1 more. Reign it in bhoys. Trust in the management.

Obviously commons wouldn't be chuffed about being benched but this was a tactical decision. Sure scott brown said not too long ago the training was great, but I agree withlast message, I would sell kc he is too slow, and our last chance to obtain a fee for a 30+ player

Well said jim!
Jamesbhoy get a hold of yourself, you don't know if there's anyone on their way, if there's deals in place, just because it hasn't been reported on the news yet doesn't mean there's nothing in the pipeline.
Supporters like you boil my blood, toure might be 35 but he's a great signing, it's been a good window SO far, your a fantasist. try living in the real world bhoyo.

One more in this window, then hopefully by January we have shifted some of the surplus players in the squad to make room for better quality. Even if we signed 4 more we wouldn't compete against top European sides this year. We need to make strides over the next 3 windows buying quality when it's available, not just making the same mistakes as previous years and buying for the sake of buying. Rodgers spoke of 2 more just before we signed de vries, that leaves 1 more signing.

id have to agree with some of the above posters, it is probably likely that we will concede, but i'm going for a score draw, hapoel will come at us, and with sinclair, griff, forest. our pace is going to cause them problems on the break.
for me a back 4 of lustig toure erik tierney should tighten things up a bit, o'connell has done a great job but i would go for erik in this instance.

Didn't rogic last the full 90 v motherwell, I think both substitutions were tactical rather than fitness issues. Mccgregor run his heart out, and bringing Bitton on shored up the midfield, to keep a shape it had to be rogic coming off for dembele, it was either him or brown to go 442, and brown was having a blinder.

I think gms can come good, but I doubt if it will be this season, I'd look to loan him out till January, get him some confidence back, with jf, ss, pr, his game time is going to be limited. He needs game time imo.
