Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

25 Apr 2018 22:32:28
Our points tally this year shows we have stagnated a bit (others may have improved) and this might be a 2nd season thing. But the biggest disappointment for me is that few of our recent signings make the first 11 - or look likely to. Why sign lots of squad players? BR said he wouldn't do that but - Benyu, Hayes, Comper, Gamboa, DeVriies, Kouassi, Hendry, Musonda. Yes some are new and might come good but we all want a better 11 that will wipe the floor with SPL clubs and improve in Europe. The only team we can routinely hammer is Sevco😂. And although Christie and Morgan have had good seasons they are no better than Rogic, CMcG, Armstrong etc.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

26 Apr 2018 00:04:33
I think you are a bit optimist if you think we can buy better than C McG, Rogic and Armstrong . To buy players better than our best would cost more money than we can afford to spend on individual players .
I think Brendan wants to buy good players who will come to Celtic and learn and develop to become better players than we currently have . To achieve this the whole club has to work together, the coaches to develop, playing colleagues help through matches and supporters to encourage and help to build confidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 23:37:33
Think you might be underestimating Morgan.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 03:56:27
@ chris, maybe if we didn't p*ss away money on some of the players mentioned we could afford better?

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 10:16:06
Said before about how the players brought in by Brendan haven’t been anywhere near good enough! I’m just hoping that this summer we finally get our act together with the transfers in the defensive positions! There’s a hell of a lot of players who won’t be there next season, Gamboa boyata (hopefully) Dembele paddy Edouard Armstrong rogic Eric jozo DDV bitton Kouassi could all go imo! I hope I’m wrong about some of them but there’s a real chance they will be off! This transfer window coming up is BR most important since he came in I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So Bain, Hendry, Ntcham, Sinclair, Dembele, Roberts and Edouard aren't good enough? Both Benyu and Kouassi were brought in as long term projects and Hayes broke his leg which is hardly Rodgers fault, Kolo Toure was brought in to help smooth Rodgers takeover which leaves only Compper, Gamboa and De Vries. Musonda himself said it it would be next season before he was ready to play regularly for us
Is it not more a case that Rodgers hasn't replaced certain players that the fans want? Most of the players you've said can leave weren't Rodgers signings.}

26 Apr 2018 10:37:19
I agree we have squandered money (not too much fortunately) on a few that have either failed to impress, or seem out of favour?
The summer window, will see more leaving than arriving and I would hope that the few that do come in have the quality and class to hit the ground running, as the qualifiers are quickly upon us.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 11:16:50
The recruitment side of BR time at the club has been the only concerning factor of his time here.
Yes he has made the existing players better added a couple of 1st pick but there has been quite of players brought in that are nowhere the squad never mind the first 11.

It's obvious the defence needs a look at. throw in the possible losses of Armstrong rogic and dembele and this up and coming TW could be the most crucial in many years.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 13:51:52
Just making the point ED that BR has brought in 15 players or more and not many have made a first team place there own, Dembele Sinclair and Ntcham aside, and more than a few have really struggled since they arrived. what I’m really hoping for is a vast improvement in defenders who are brought in to be honest. feel that’s a priority in the window, and it’s telling that what Brendan considers his best defence doesn’t include any defenders he’s signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So it is more that he hasn't replaced the players you want him to replace? Roberts would have made a lot more appearances if he wasn't injured, the same with Hayes, we play with one striker and it's always going to be Dembele when fit, from what you've seen from Edouard wouldn't you say he has the potential to be Dembele's replacement? It's not as if Brown gets tired and needs a rest so how does Kouassi get a run in the team?
It's OK saying Rodgers signings haven't dominated the team but who would you get rid of, LG, Rogic, McGregor or Tierney just to get more Rodgers signings in?
Everyone knows the defence needs worked on, especially a long term replacement for Lustig if Ralston's not going to do and the CB position needs a quality experienced partner for Ajer so how you can say that the players Rodgers has brought in haven't been good enough is a bit off the mark for me. De Vries was a panic buy, Gamboa was brought in as back up for Lustig and it hasn't worked out and the Compper deal as I said at the time was a strange one

26 Apr 2018 14:57:15
It’s the defence I’m more concerned about ED, and the ability to bring some decent defenders in! From what I’ve seen so far we’ve struggled big time to bring in quality defenders. and there can’t be any doubt about that when BR is persuading boyata to stay on for another year! 😱😱🙈 I just want us to address a problem that’s been there since Brendan came in, and that’s getting quality defenders in! Right back at least one centre half and cover for KT is a must!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Fingers crossed that Rodgers will concentrate on strengthening the defence AND the GK position this summer.
Marc-Oliver Kempf from SC Freiburg is out of contract this summer and what about Karlo Bartolec from FC Nordsjaelland as a possible RB? I'm not saying that's who we are after but it's a couple of players that have caught my eye and neither would cost the earth to sign imo.}

26 Apr 2018 17:36:20
Kempf is a player I was hoping we'd be interested in, he's been unlucky with injuries recently but has good potential and still young, I thought I read he had signed for Stuttgart a few weeks ago but can't find any info on it now, will be a lot teams with more financial muscle than ourselves interested in him.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 22:35:33
Jim Jim I don't think B R intended to piss away money on the players he has bought . As Ed007 states most of these players were bought to benefit us in the longer time and some have done very well at times . Don't be too hasty .
Aindoh, I haven't went to many of St Mirren's matches in the Championship so I have absolutely no idea how good he is .
Have you been at many of his games?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 23:28:31
No, only "seen a few on the 'radio'", and read about his performances for St Mirren and the Scotland young team, Old Bhoy your attitude is more or less the same as Supersalary, (who now says he worked for nothing after administration, poor thing, is he having a memory loss?, his wages were deferred, that means he got paid them later on, ) when he dismissed Andy Robertson because he was playing in a lower league, am sure Exactly did the same with LG when he was with Hibs and Wolves.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 20:17:33
I do not get these rumours about Hernandez from Hull
In 9 years he has only played 237 games 26 per year another Rogic, He averages just 60mins a game sound familar.
I wonder if this is just agent talk to try to get his player a new deal or just a new club
If we are interested i hope we are onlygoing to offer the same deal as Rogic pay as you play.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

25 Apr 2018 20:31:43
WHIT! Rogic will never sign a play and pay deal and rightly so.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 21:23:35
That sounds like a good system the huns should use.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 00:08:28
Jonace, Hernandez is a combination of agent speak and media to upset Celtic fans .
It's very likely that he will never play at Celtic Park, so enjoy the build - up to the game against the young club and forget anything u read about players going or coming.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 00:34:28
That's the kind of deal offered to a guy that would pass a medical by the skin of his teeth. Or an extension for an older player recovering from a horror injury. If that's all that is offered I'll thank him for his time and wish him all the best because he will be off.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 01:25:45
It's a balancing act type of contract needed. Enough money that's fair with with a lucrative bounus structure. Is he not on less than 10k a week? If he is fit he knows BR will have him in the side so he knows he will have game time. There are plenty of clubs that will happily pay a bit more for the big game goals he is capable of scoring and regularly does.

26 Apr 2018 11:00:23
FGJ. Why rightly so?

Would anybody else like to see our players do a huddle at full time infront of the Sevco fans in the exact same spot as the 1999 “huddle”. just a thought bhoys hail hail.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

25 Apr 2018 18:01:05
The exact same spot will do fine for me right in front of the Huns and main stand and don’t rush it. Only issue is there will be no Huns left at full time so if we’re ahead after 45 minutes can I have a half time huddle please? ☘️.

Just let's win the game first and foremost; then decide.

Agree4 Disagree1

25 Apr 2018 19:08:00
Totally agree OaB.
We need to concentrate on winning the game first, before even thinking about what celebrations happen.
I am sure the Dark side, The Ref, Linesman, SFA and SPFL will be doing EVERYTHING in their power to make sure we don't win this game and clinch the league.

Agree1 Disagree3

25 Apr 2018 19:10:11
Game will be done and dusted at half time OAB.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 19:29:08
Would agree with you OaB. Let's just win the game first and foremost. I like your confidence JFB but l can't see them being as bad as last time plus l am sure Scott Brown comments will have touched a nerve with them. Just hope there is nothing more said by us and let the football do the talking.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Apr 2018 19:46:47
What did Brown say Oscar?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 22:37:58
brown said that Hibs are 2nd best team in the league and not The Rangers.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 00:13:47
Yes the most important thing on Sunday is to win the game .
I am sure Scot and the bhoys will be able to come up with non pre- arranged celebrations that will send us all home happy .
Every game has to be won on it's own merit, there are no easy games and everyone involved has to have their head in the right place and that certainly means no preplans for celebrating.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2018 00:26:58
Has the ref been announced? Doubt Bobby will get it again after his decent showing last time round.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 23:24:48
Over confidence might have more bearing on the final result than the quality of the opposition, I hope the players don't have the same mindset as some of the posters on here.

Cannot believe the bisons on the shortlist for poty got to be a wind up.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

25 Apr 2018 15:58:38
@Mally do not forget the PFA shortlist is drawn up by arch hun Fraser Wishart, of course there has to be a sevco player on it, Wishart wrote it into the rule book lol.

Agree3 Disagree2

25 Apr 2018 16:43:51
That'll explain it Tim but it's a scandal he is awful and should be no where near it.

Agree2 Disagree2

25 Apr 2018 19:09:18
There shouldn't be any Sevco player anywhere near any of the POTY list's.

25 Apr 2018 19:54:30
should bo on the potty list. sh1t.

I would have thought Mc Clean, Collum and Ferguson would have been Sevco's most valuable player and Dallas young helper of the year.

He won't be anywhere near it. He will be pulled over for speeding on the way in.

Discussing the football with a jags fan this morning and he made a good point. Aberdeen, Hibs and Killie, especially the latter two, seem to be moving towards a kind of reboot. The dons will be moving to a new stadium and training complex, Hibs are shunting season books at record levels and killie might just be the dark horse of the Three if even some of the rumours are true.

St Mirren, also rumoured to be receiving decent investment, are also selling more season books and have a real feel good factor thanks to Ross, who is one to watch for me. Hertz will be the usual, some big results but ultimately missing out unless levein leaves/ buys better players.

Murderwell have been the big surprise, robust full of energy and a proper team. If they hang on to Robinson it will be more of the same, good luck to them, horrible to watch but a lot to admire.

So a lot of positives there. There seems to be one team missing. Ah, the sevco bleaters loyal. In six years this shambolic mess has not advanced one bit. Whining moaning and blaming everyone but the real culprits. Themselves and the word of supposed 'real ranjurs men'

After all the litigation, all the infighting and lies, all the obfuscation you might think one of the MANY, MANY fans groups would be on the case. Not a chance. They still don't seem to know anything.

Most teams in the SPFL seem to be going forward while they stand still. Kings next managerial appointment and the funding thereof will be massive. But first the courts. for a change.

We got rid of our old board and had a vision for the future. That lot bring in the men that where on their old board who voted against a CVA! They have no self awareness as their up in arms about us owning the broomland stand and want our allocation cut.

25 Apr 2018 13:48:14
A lot of the teams you mention took stock of the situation that happen at ibrox and said it it can happen to them then it can happen to us.
In the time that has followed they have been busy putting their houses in order and in the long run that is great for all of Scottish football.

Hi 001 / 007

That wee Salah is great. but he is still no Paddy McCourt 😝😝🍀👍.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I think Liverpool are really going to struggle to keep hold of Salah for next season.}

25 Apr 2018 11:12:06
Possibly Ed but it will be a seriously stupid bit of cash someone will need to part with.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And to a club that will include his "respect my religion" clause that baffled Real Madrid.}

25 Apr 2018 11:22:43
Balon D’or for that man. Outstanding performances all season and he is so quick. I saw him at Huddersfield a few months back and he was getting balls he no right to get.

my ex girlfriend was good at getting balls as well, found out later she never kissed a parrot but kiss a cockatoo. boom boom.

@ED. I think the most impressive thing is he seems to be a really humble honest bloke. Maybe a larrson type thing may happen. he does not seem to come across as money orientated at all. But jeeze what a player.

{Ed007's Note - Ach, he's no Ronaldo.}

LOL. Well second place then.

25 Apr 2018 13:13:19
What was the respect my religion thing ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - During informal talks with Real Madrid Salah's agent brought up a clause they wanted to have in the contract that the club would respect his religion. Now what that actually entails I have no idea and according to Ed002 neither did Madrid.}

25 Apr 2018 14:10:46
Strange demand what's important about being religious is your own beliefs and respect for it I would have thought.

{Ed007's Note - It is a bit odd.}

It's an example of what is wrong with Western European football if a club of the statue of Liverpool in a league bursting with TV money and sponsorship cannot hold on to a star player for more than a season or two.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 09:47:39
Looking at the Liverpool game last night showed how vital it is to have a go to player when you need one salad won that game nearly on his own, Ronaldo does it for real, messi for barca, Kane for Spurs and so on I honestly believe for us to go to the next level level we need to spend on the best we can afford and not spending on 3 or 4 who don't really improve the team I. e com per, Hayes, benyu, Gamboa, hendry and kouassi, gms, boyata if the money for these players was spent on 1 or 2 better quality then the next level may be possible, needs PL and DD to adjust the policy it won't take a Hugh shift just a different risk for reward just because you spend a lot on a player does not mean you will not have sell on value.

25 Apr 2018 14:31:21
I said at last window it will be really difficult to improve what we have, if u take away any first team player and try to replace with better its going to cost a fortune.
Yes there are bargains out there Naka, Lubo, Vic, VVD, but they are extremely hard to find and every club out there is looking for these players too.
So its not an easy job for BR and the team but I still confident they can find someone of quality and I'm pretty sure we won't have heard of him.

Gordon

Ajer
Boyata
Tierney

Brown
Ntcham

Forrest
Rogic
McGregor

Dembele.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 Apr 2018 07:09:25
I’d put Paddy in. Forrest has been innefectual for weeks now. Won’t happen because he’s supposed to be the player of the year, I missed that.

Think this will be pretty close to the team but ad swap Bain for Gordon.

As Magicpole said bring in Roberts for Forrest.
Going for a 2-0 win.

25 Apr 2018 08:43:37
I have a sneaky feeling this will be a close game.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 09:00:54
Many of us would choose Roberts, for his flair and skill, but clearly BR prefers Forrest and it would seem PR is not in his plans (present or future) .
Forrest has proved he can create and score important goals, but it's the periods of ineffectiveness in between that irritate me.
However, he has the manager and team-mates backing and that gives him the advantage; I hope he decides to appreciate it on Sunday.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Apr 2018 09:52:54
Think that team will be the one BR picks rich. i’m like most on here but, I’d swap paddy for Forrest! Forrest has done his usual and forgotten there’s a 2nd half of the season to play, he’s been woeful since the turn of the year! Would obviously have boyata nowhere near the team but realise there’s not a lot of options in there. any win will do for me on Sunday, the results all that matters in this one. don't get me wrong but, I’d still love us to Annihilate them 🤣🤣.

25 Apr 2018 12:17:48
Paddy in for me wee james has tailed off a bit.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 14:23:03
Would think you are right rich with your team. I wonder does BR prefer forrest for his defence side of the game. Paddy seems to be his man for the last 20 min's. Only other one is bains over Gordon but l think Gordon's shot stopping against them this season will edge it. But someone needs to tell him he can't pass it and just clear his lines. Him and boyata scare the life out of me when they start passing it about. Any win will do for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Apr 2018 17:40:09
I would like to see another 4 or 5 nil but if not, 1-0 and the goal comes from a deflection off Broonies bum in the 93rd minute just to piss them off.
