Nobody knows. I hope so, but I read about his wages and this may be the problem. Although if we got him for free maybe it could be done. Might have an impact upon how the other players feel when he trots up on double their wages. Just need to wait and see.

The players shouldn’t complain. They have no right too. The player comes in for nothing, if we pay him 50k a week then so be it. I doubt it’s anything that players care about, what others in the squad make. I’m sure Ben Summers isn’t annoyed that Ralston makes 10k more than him a year.

I doubt it would cause any player to become resentful, but when it became time to renegotiate the contracts it would serve as a benchmark and precedent for the others. So unless those in charge want to actually shift the ceiling on the salary, it could cause problems down the line. Ideally that would be the plan anyway.

I think that might mean that GG could remain with Celtic until the spring.

He's signed for a year in line with the Russian league special rule. Player can suspend their current contract for a year and join foreign clubs. Obviously if the war continues it will be reviewed throughout the year. If the war end in rhe next year, I expect him to return to Ruban.

It's obvious that we never learn from past windows and experiences. We'll never get who we want - we just don't do that. Lunin and Kelleher are way out our price range and budget. We'll probably bring in experience but not the player (s) we see being bandied about. How many had heard of Lubo before Dr. Jo brought him in. I'd be absolutely delighted to get 4 or 5 in over the summer with his level of experience at the cost we got him for - and so would BR. But, is that the way this club does business?

Many players regress when they travel to a distant Country to play football. Some pick up a bad lifestyle, and this can affect their playing . If he eventually deserved a chance he may grasp it with open arms and become a Celtic star.

{Ed007's Note - The step up from B team level to Celtic's first team is probably as big as it has ever been. A young professional playing well against part-timers doesn't mean they should be getting a chance in the first team.
Considering our B team is sitting 11th in the league - 19 points behind the leaders East Kilbride, we've scored 29 goals whereas E.K have scored 50 and Hearts 47 - I seriously doubt we'll see any of them make the step-up because they're simply not good enough, like Vata.
Until Celtic - and the rest of the SPFL - move to a proper reserve league we will continually lose our best young players because they will become better players moving elsewhere, there is no clear pathway at Celtic for youngsters to progress and that's been the case for years and will continue to the case for the foreseeable future unless there is major changes to the youth set up.
Liam Morrison & Barry Hepburn might never make it into the Bayern Munich first team but they will become far better players than they would have if they had stayed at Celtic.}

I totally agree with Ed. Just bcause they look good at B level, the step up to the first team is huge and when they get the chance of training with the first team, the gap is clearly obvious.
I don't think Vata, who is highly regarded by some (and humself) is anywhere near first team quality. He doesn't have a turn of pace frim what I have seen.
Until our league and those that run it realise the potential we are losing by not having proper stepping stone leagues to top Division football, our national team will suffer, as will the majority of SPL teams.
There is literally no infrastructure or investment in our young players that would encourage them to remain here.
It is really sad situation which even our club will not do anything to improve. We re apparently happy buying young players from other clubs, as they do from us.

I think Vata’s big problem is that his father was a professional footballer and among the clubs he played, was Celtic . When young Vata wasn’t becoming the child prodigy his father thought he was, his father hawked him across Europe, many clubs looked but none were prepared to pay the nominal fee Celtic wanted . I think many fans are using Vata as an example of our recruitment/ manager not knowing the job, instead of. Vata not been first team quality. Let’s hope he finds the correct level and goes on to become as good a pro footballer as he can.

Ed, for me they could have said they were supporting players who's families may be involved but otherwise they should have left it alone, if they disagreed with what the GB did.
We cannot claim to welcome all but not include some.
I agree it is hypocrisy what has been said, because we all know what has gone on historically at our club, so that is why I am surprised they made any comment.
I also accept some on here will have a differing view.

A club the last time I checked is made up of members. The members of a football club are everybody associated with it, mainly the fans, who like all members of society will have different views. We haven’t hit anywhere near top form yet and defensively we have our eternal problems. 10 points out of 102 in the CL tells me we lack mental strength in this completion. Who is to blame for us missing on paper our top four centre halves . Do u think the money glutton EPL teams would be weakened if they were each missing their top 4 cb’s . Man Utd would have to play calamity Maguire .
It’s a struggle for us when we have everyone available, we seem to have difficult vital SPL matches before and after our European games . Not only have we biased SPL referees but maybe it’s H Dallas but our European refs often leave question marks too . I am hoping for a Homer to make up for game against Feyenoord.

The best atmosphere was definitely the jungle I remember being taken there with my dad and grandad and I am still sure to this day that teams when they came out the tunnel and saw the jungle put the nerves right through teams most teams were already beaten as they walked onto the pitch. I was there for the jungles last stand with tears pouring down my face as I thought it was the end of an era never to be repeated then we went on an amazing home winning spree with Mon I think it was something like 77 unbeaten games at CP.
