I heard a rumour that martinez along with maloney and Kennedy will be the management team for next season has anyone else heard this it was from my Mrs who is on celtic minded and it's supposed to be on there.

1.) 10 Mar 2019 10:09:54
Total BLOX!

2.) 10 Mar 2019 10:17:20
Didn't Martinez knock back the real job earlier in the season?

3.) 11 Mar 2019 09:07:39
I am just posting what I ws told.

30 Jan 2019 17:47:24
Gutman deal dependant on a work permit according to David hannah.

1.) 30 Jan 2019 18:37:10
So much for all the rumours saying he went AWOL and we had withdrawn our offer.

12 Aug 2018 19:57:49
Ed. Three or four people have told me that paddy Roberts agent was up last week. Something about him coming in on a four or five year deal. Have you heard anything on this. Cheers.

{Ed007's Note - It's Allan Preston (ex-Hearts player that used to be on BBC Sportsound) from Stellar Football that represents Roberts - and their other clients - in Scotland and the story is that he contacted Peter Lawwell the other day to see if Celtic would be interested in signing Roberts on a permanent deal.
It's probably from Preston that ex-Celtic Boys Club player Alex Rae heard that he was coming back too.}

1.) 12 Aug 2018 20:55:51
Should his agent really need to be the one to contact us? You’d like to think that we were keeping an eye on his situation and as soon as their window closed we’d put a bid in.

2.) 12 Aug 2018 21:38:06
Rodgers himself has said he is keeping an eye on Roberts situation. Now that the Premiership window has closed we may be in a better position to do something.

3.) 12 Aug 2018 21:39:53
So baring that in mind could there be a 10percent chance of him joining us ED?

{Ed007's Note -

4.) 12 Aug 2018 22:20:52
There is no fight club.

5.) 12 Aug 2018 22:21:56
Would rather we signed at least 2 defenders .

6.) 12 Aug 2018 22:46:21
Haha ed classic, never mind only 2 1/ 2 weeks to go 😂.

{Ed007's Note - I'm counting the minutes.......

7.) 12 Aug 2018 23:32:39
I wouldn't believe anything that comes from fat boy Preston half the time he doesn't know what day it is lol.

8.) 13 Aug 2018 07:58:28
Might just be me but I’m not 100% on signing Roberts again. He clearly thought he was better than Celtic and is only coming back because he couldn’t get a move elsewhere? I’d rather see a bit more movement in the defence tbh.

I would also prefer it if Brendan would stop tinkering with the team! There’s no coincidence why we went unbeaten in our first season, and looked convincing in doing so.

Martin O’Neill’s team competed in the champions league along with the league and cups yet never seemed to need rested like this team does. 5 changes at the weekend was just utterly ridiculous. He is a very clever man, so hoping he was doing it to prove a point that the quality isn’t in the depth we have.

9.) 13 Aug 2018 07:05:14
Cheers Ed your the man.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

18 May 2018 16:46:15
Heard we are front runners for abel hernandez don't know if there is much truth in it though. If we sign OE permanently then this should be a non goer.

1.) 18 May 2018 17:28:05
Dembele will be off in the summer. Especially after not making the world Cup squad. So Edouard LG and Abel wouldn't be a bad 3 strikers on the books.

2.) 18 May 2018 19:37:04
Mate even Martial didn't make the squad. He may well be off but don't think that'll be the reason.

{Ed007's Note - Lacazette and Benzema didn't make the squad either, when you look at the forwards France are taking it's frightening.}

3.) 18 May 2018 20:03:45
ED do you reckon Dembele will sign a new deal?

{Ed007's Note - I don't know mate but I hope so, even another 2 years would do me.}

4.) 18 May 2018 20:15:11
I fancy them to win it Ed.

{Ed007's Note - But you can't cheer on a team wearing THOSE colours, it's Germany for me.}

5.) 18 May 2018 20:39:57
I’ll choose Germany Aswell ED only because of that new away kit.

{Ed007's Note - That's as good a reason as any I suppose lol.}

6.) 18 May 2018 20:43:14
I'll probably watch 3 games maximum. I struggle to watch any game that doesn't involve Celtic. I lose interest after about 3 minutes.

7.) 18 May 2018 21:22:10
Same here Stan. It's not the same game for me unless the tic are on the park.

8.) 18 May 2018 22:25:39
Same here Stan. Haven't seen a full game that wasn't Scottish football in years. Don't watch epl and haven't seen the last 5 champions league finals.

9.) 18 May 2018 23:28:33
I picked Germany to win it also.
I really hope this world cup is a good one as the last few have been really dull.

{Ed007's Note - You can trace the decline of international football back to Diana Ross missing a penalty and the goal still exploding at the opening ceremony of USA '94.}

10.) 19 May 2018 09:44:42
Lacazette and benzema didn't make the squad? Damn that is indeed frightening. Fantastic for our main man tho.

11.) 19 May 2018 09:59:30
Sorry misread bravetart's post. Shame Moussa didn't get the nod. Could see him really rocking el mundial.

12.) 19 May 2018 12:52:46
People were saying Rogic was away from all sorts of sources. Let’s wait and see with big Moussa.

Would anybody fancy Marcus Rose to be our new manager. I would love this. His team has shown us a lesson in Europe a few times. Plus salt burg play good attacking football.

1.) 08 Mar 2019 00:03:30
Imagine if his Celtic team got the same result as his Salzburg did tonight at Napoli, he would be getting pelters on here 😉.

2.) 08 Mar 2019 07:18:35
Napoli are a Quality side not a surprising result.

3.) 08 Mar 2019 11:15:07
I'd take him in a heartbeat but also I'd have no problems with Lennon getting it if he bags the treble. I had my concerns that Lenny would be too volatile and we can't afford to have a gaffer in the stands for weeks at a time when we're so close to the 10, but he seems a bit more calm these days.

4.) 08 Mar 2019 12:28:18
Salzburg had 21 shots at goal away to Napoli, so they were unlucky to lose 3-0.
I want Lenny to be our next permanent manager but if we were to appoint a foreign manager I wouldn't have a problem with it being the Salzburg coach because he ticks all the boxes.

5.) 08 Mar 2019 13:38:16
NL would be a step backwards and it's as simple as that for me.

6.) 08 Mar 2019 13:44:52
I would take him in a heart beat but why would he leave to come to us, when he has just beat us twice in a season? I think this one is a non starter for me. It will be Lennon or clarke (hopefully lennon)

7.) 08 Mar 2019 16:20:49
Lennon every day of the week for me. If not Lenny the Marco Rose would be my number 1 choice.

This is just my opinion but if you look beyond the fact that Lennon is a Celtic man who has played, captained and Manged the club before as well as working with Lawwell and the board in my opinion Lennon is a very talented and knowledgeable manager who has fantastic qualities. His teams play an attacking and attractive brand of football and he demands the best out of his players both individually and as a team.

8.) 08 Mar 2019 17:12:37
As long as there are a decent amount put into the transfer kitty then onwards we go for 9 in a row.

15 Aug 2018 19:36:07
My outlook on this disaster from last night and that is we can't blame one person for this everyone at celtic let us down last night fingers can be pointed but everyone at our club should take the blame.

1.) 15 Aug 2018 19:50:13
Was there any truth in the schar and piccini rumours both seem like logical signings but did not committ and went to other clubs.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 19:59:19
. recruitment policy needs looked at . since lenny 81 players in and over two thirds of which have been biscuit tin crap. we need to stop buying cheap quantity over quality . we need to buy at a higher level. both monetary and skillwise we need to look at changeing our wage structure upwards somewhat . if we are to have a chief scout why don't we identify the most successful one/ s and make a transfer bid for him / them. it's clear something needs doing.

3.) 15 Aug 2018 20:39:25
Agree, BR has done exactly what he said he wouldn’t t do- buy squad players. Only 2 of his signings started last night (would have been 1 if Boyata don’t take huff) and that is not great for 5 transfers windows. Some loss of form (SS) some not good enough (Kouassi, Hayes, Gamboa, Comper) some injury prone (MD, OE? ) but even new recruits like Morgan won’t really do. Is he any better than our young fringe players? This window I would be happy with one quality CB. Surely we can find someone who can stay fit, not get sent off regularly and knows how to defend? Erik was as close as we had to this.

15 Aug 2018 18:52:11
Ed got told from a friend of mine that the problem with brendan was. He was told he had 15million to spend and he chose to sign edouard perm and get a new pitch I don't know how reliable this is have you heard anything like this.

{Ed007's Note - No.}

1.) 15 Aug 2018 19:28:57
Ok cheers ed.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 19:39:28
Doudt it the pitch was started last season so can't see how that's in the playing budget.

Eduardo maybe cost Celtic 9m if all the add ons are hit. Champion league qualification, Eddie making French national squa ECT. So story doesn't add up.

Even if it was true he would have had enough to buy McGinn which we all know didn't happen.

3.) 15 Aug 2018 20:03:23
He got £9m for Edouard but the board clawed £8.5m for Armstrong and Sviatchenko and saved a wage so he has actually spent nothing .

4.) 15 Aug 2018 21:16:24
Not to mention the Van Djik money.

10 Aug 2018 08:44:48
Why is everyone so down. We are not sevco we don't need 10 or 11 players we need 2 maybe 3 and we still have about 3weeks of the window left so calm down our business will be done.

1.) 10 Aug 2018 08:58:00
We are down because since we didn’t sign the two or three we look likely to be out of the CL. And with that lose the 60m+ that gets us even better players. Quite simple really.

2.) 10 Aug 2018 09:04:34
And if today's papers are to be believed as quotes from BR, it would appear that he has given the board a shot across the bow.

3.) 10 Aug 2018 09:21:29
Let’s hope the lads can get the result we need over there. Because shot across the bow or not, without money class players he is talking about won’t be coming here. That’s the issue. We are upset because the board have put that in great peril. No one else. We will have scuppered ourselves and that happens too often with our club over decades. That why people are raging. It’s hard enough without undermining ourselves.

4.) 10 Aug 2018 09:32:21
Magicpole what makes you believe that 2 or 3 new signings would of guaranteed qualification for CL? You talk some nonsense sir.

5.) 10 Aug 2018 09:46:06
Marco you are correct . but the boards biscuit Tim mentality in not getting the 2/ 3 players in we need means we are on the verge of exiting the cl . remember Marco this isn't a one off. our boards historically rubbishe all over our managers . most famously bunnet telling tommy burns publically through the press that if he wanted more players he'd have to dig into his own pocket. financial prudence is acceptable if we have finished second or third 7 years in a row and are on the bones of our arse. hotels . light shows . walkways Peter Lawell is fantastic at these things but he and the board should not hamstring our 2nd most successful manager financially . do you want to bring back b8g ronnie and let the board dominate him and bring in a succession of cheap duds like Carlton Cole etc etc again. the board want to project an illusion of celtic being a top drawer european/ world class club. but you can't do that buying players from the football equivalent of Poundland. the fans need to publically show them we are not happy and require them to back our manager now.

6.) 10 Aug 2018 09:51:15
You're one of the few that are raging MP. Didn't see many raging walking out of CP on Wednesday night.

7.) 10 Aug 2018 09:54:42
I am not certain of anything except not brining in the players we know we needed makes a difficult task all the more so. There is no excuse I will ever except for going backward. We have money, he had a list, he sat in it. We are now looking down the barrel of a gun. That’s Lawells daily and Brendan has come down on the side of those whobsaid we need to act. We need to get them in early. We need a couple of class players. None of that happened and it’s not our fault, it’s not the team’s fault and it’s not Brendan’s. Not giving us a better chance is a scandal and pathetic management of our CL qualifier journey.

Hanging off for possible better deals then crashing out of the gravy train that pays for it is an utter shambles. Only Lawell and his blind faith supporters could argue otherwise. Brendan’s words tell it like it is. He recognises you can stand still never mind go back as we have. We haven’t even replaced the quality we listvbever mind brought additions in. How anybody can even attempt to justify that is utterly beyond me. Indefensible. Over to you Lawell, we are all watching.

8.) 10 Aug 2018 10:12:35
Don't get this we've went backwards nonsense, we've lost Armstrong who never featured much last season through injury and Sviatchenko who was about 3rd choice. We've signed Edouard permanently which looks a great bit of business and held onto all our other major players.

9.) 10 Aug 2018 10:15:22
People need to get a grip. 2 weeks ago we were all saying screw hibs for trying to blackmail us and make us pay over the odds for mcginn. Ok so it didn't work out but I agree with the club. We are targeting quality players who sometimes don't want to come (denayer) . We knew aek was going to be tough but we outplayed them at paradise and we will do so again in Greece (3 1 my prediction) The board will sign quality players which will move us forward to another treble. Now let's get behind the Bhoys for the game against the grass growers and stop being so pessimistic. HH 3 to go till 10 in a row.

10.) 10 Aug 2018 10:33:23
It's not up for debate the man asked for a couple quality additions on the back of Losing 2, and has got nowt up till now, eddy is a great signing and costly but because he was here it kind of goes under the radar, we got cash for Armstrong and allegedly Virgils move, never mind offloading a right few and we sold over 53.000 sts so there's no excuse our path to the cl would not have been guaranteed but it just may have been a bit easier.

11.) 10 Aug 2018 10:43:38
This is playing right into the hands of our detractors and haters. The unfortunate thing is for the first time since his arrival, BR actually appears to be frustrated and even angry at the situation on transfers and although there may well be new arrivals, it will be too late for what happened on Wednesday and we need to just deal with that and concentrate on what quality we do have.
The players that played against AEK had every chance to win the game and on another night might have scored three or four.
The negativity should be at least put on hold until the second leg is over as this is not PSG, Real, or Barcelona we are going to and if the players turn up, give 100% and carry a wee bit of luck - who knows? Everyone else is waiting and hoping for us to fail, so let's get right behind the Bhoys starting at that rubbishe-hole in Edinburgh on Saturday and 'always look on the bright side'.

12.) 10 Aug 2018 10:37:36
Unreal the amount of people still defending the board here. Peter Lawwell has become like Kim Jong Un, the great leader can do no wrong.

People are almost brainwashed about it.

We needed a quality CB for 3 years and now I'm hearing people bang on about 3 weeks of the window when it may be too late.

Stevie saying 3 signings wouldn't guarantee qualification. It would certainly help, put it that way.

Apparently signings don't help in football! why have we ever signed anyone. Heard it all now.

13.) 10 Aug 2018 11:13:17
Tesla i'm not PLs biggest fan, i gave him pelters until appointing BR. I have given him a bit of slack until this week over his pathetic efforts to sign McGinn. I can't however point the finger at him for not getting a CB. Surely that is the Managers job, infact we have an abundance of CBs and have had for 3 years. If they were all playing like superstars there would be no discussion. Boyata and Jozo went through a spell when they looked classy and solid together. As Ed has said numerous times are we really going to invest in another CB unless one or even 2 leaves.

14.) 10 Aug 2018 11:52:38
The morons who are brainwashed Tesla are the ones who believe 3 signings would of made it a formality against AEK, we've spent decent money on signings before e. g Kouassi, Pukki, Fortune, Balde, Hooiveld, Sviatchenko etc etc and didn't improve us one bit in fact they set us back. We're not in a position to throw 4 year contracts at players that are not good enough we've been stung in the past doing exactly this. If we are looking to improve any position that is going to take us to another level then the money we spent on Edouard plus is what we're looking at. Then you have the hard bit of trying to convince them to ply their trade in Scotland.

15.) 10 Aug 2018 12:31:53
Stevie, what planet you on lol. Signings don't make a difference?

So why should any club ever sign a player then.

Also the list of players you have only prove my point. Kouassi aside the rest were the cheap option lol. Max £2-3mil signings.

I'm pretty confident to say if we had got in CBs last year that AEK wouldn't have caused us much bother going forward.

In fact I was on here saying the same when we bottled it against Zenit and all I was told was how much money Zenit had.

Funny how Dinamo Minsk just done then 4-0.

16.) 10 Aug 2018 12:59:40
Stevie name calling people who don't agree or have different opinions isn't reqd . (dont know if your retaliating to someone who called you a moron ) . point on the signings stevie 3 quality signings like the manager says he wants/ needs would make more of a difference than 6poor signings you name and we can all name more . and that's been a big part of our past problems penny pinching on a quantity of cheap options ends up costing more than buying 2/ 3 expensive quality players.

17.) 10 Aug 2018 13:32:15
FFS Tesla are you on the wind up or just have difficulty reading? Where did I say signings don't make a difference? Stop making things up to suit your own agenda. F### it I give up with the doom and gloomers .

18.) 10 Aug 2018 13:55:39
Firstly Morons wasn't pointed at one particular person so wind your neck in. Secondly it isn't as simple as you and your likes try and make out to sign proven quality that will come in and make a difference when clubs from half the cash laden leagues in Europe are after the same players.

19.) 10 Aug 2018 14:01:43
It's not doom and gloom, it's bemusement at why we don't try to build on having a good team.

clearing debt and building strong finance is a good idea initially, but there has to be a long term goal.

This is Lawwells 15th year at it . Time to move to the next phase and start reinvesting properly and be ambitious.

and before anyone mentions "them" dying, they didn't die from spending. They spend money that wasn't theirs, a huge difference.

09 Aug 2018 19:12:15
Paddy Roberts stuck man City reserves no prem football for him.

1.) 10 Aug 2018 08:11:31
I'd be very surprised if we didn't atleast try to get a deal done now Marco. Regardless of how Forrest is playing a fully fit on form PR walks into our team.

The fact he refused to play for us in a CL qualifier the fact that he stated he or his agent stated he didn't want to be here or play for us so he is a scumbag.

I hate BR as much as the next fan but would be have waited till the 85 min to bring on more firepower at home to Livingston. No he would have changed the set up at about 60mins but he would have tinkered with the team to get the opening goal. But NL stays the same till 85 min wtf.

Celtic is a club open to all so we as supporters should be open to all too. I know if my little girl was at the game with me and was next to that flash bang and it scared her. The next flash bang would have been in the guy that threw it balls. I want my kids to goto the game and enjoy the game and atmosphere not be worried about if some arsehole is going to throw a flash bang. These guys are morons and deserve everything hey get. I hope celtic seek out this moron and ban him perm.

Madden isn't as bad as everyone makes out. I think he is the best of a bad bunch but he isn't afraid to give good honest decisions against them. Where most are.
