Any news on the hotel? Last I heard the board were 'Going to the market'. Would love to see this project started soon. HH!

1.) 27 Jul 2018 17:35:51
Very professional statement.

2.) 27 Jul 2018 18:13:22
Sorry wrong thread.

I personally think if Edouard was going to be signed it would have happened by now. I also think another year's loan would be ideal for all parties.

1.) 30 May 2018 01:26:22
the window isn't officially opened yet.

2.) 30 May 2018 08:57:58
As much as I share your desperation to have this deal set stone PSG have set a date of 16th June for us to complete the deal.

3.) 30 May 2018 15:24:41
Just like all the people last summer adamant PR wasn't coming back because "we would have signed him by now".

Ed. what a day! Do you think Rodgers would have stayed until summer if he had been allowed to? Also the way I look upon things is if Lenny guides us over the line and we maybe do the treble again, I think we might be in a Solskjaer type situation. Why do you not fancy him again?

{Ed007's Note - I don't think he would have stayed and I wouldn't have wanted him to. I always felt Neil Lennon stayed a season too long and the final season wasn't good to watch, plus I don't think you should ever go back the way it rarely ends well.
I do think that NL was by far the only possible choice to see us through to the end of the season and I'll back him to the hilt like I do with every Celtic manager but I would like to see us cast our net a bit further in the summer and get a high(ish) level of European coach/manager with some fresh ideas and some savvy in European games.}

1.) 26 Feb 2019 22:42:42
If the board really want to come out of this smelling sweet they best give serious consideration to appointing someone in Brendan's league as a coach, with that sort of reputation. Other posters are more clued in than I am about candidates--but its imperative that we send a message with the next hire. This 10 in a row thing is a serious legacy issue; they have the capital. Do the right thing. Lenny is super (and I just know I'll come round to thinking he should stay) but he's not in the same league.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 22:47:31
But if Lennon gets us the treble treble, wouldn’t the board go for the normal cheap scake option to appoint Lennon permanently on the cheap and pocket Rodgers compensation package? I wouldn’t put it past them.

3.) 27 Feb 2019 05:50:04
It wouldn't surprise me either Leeds Celt. As an interim, Lennon is fine. There probably aren't any managers who have paid as much attention to us or the domestic scene. And what we need right now is a continuity and for the manager to hit the ground running. Somebody who can get a bit fire in the bellies of the players. NL ticks those boxes. Longer term though, it's quite simply a step backwards.

4.) 27 Feb 2019 00:12:48
Bang on ed not my choice but read a piece before saying how hard it would be for an outsider to come in now if they failed and stopped the ten so I get it but surely we have to get it right in the summer. I’m at a crossroads just now wee we’re on our way to 10 playing the Celtic way. For me dodgers had finally nailed a system away in Europe he’s def the reason calmac has turned into the player he is now and others have benefited from his coaching. I grew up of stories of the Lisbon lions and winning 9 but at the same time lives through them winning 9 so 10 for me is the holy grail BUT I want to do it by being the best playing the best not just grinding out results the next appointment can’t be Lennon.

5.) 27 Feb 2019 10:58:26
Hi again ed, just wondered what you're thoughts are on jokanovic as an outsider coming in? EPL and European experience?

{Ed007's Note - That's a decent shout, Andy. His time at Fulham turned into a bit of a disaster after he got them promoted but it's a huge step-up for players from the Championship to the Pub League and they're still struggling.}

13 Aug 2018 03:18:09
Please tell me that Boyata won't run down his contract and sign a PC in Jan? I know we still have a few weeks in the transfer window, but if this guy is allowed to do that after us turning down £9m from Fulham then it just proves that manager and team/ PL / Directors are really fragmented.

1.) 13 Aug 2018 06:41:38
Agree. The Boyata saga should have been done and dusted. Offer accepted. Buy a new CB and move on. Its one mistake after another. Now down to 2 CB, s for Tuesday. We must do better as a club.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 09:48:45
I think it looks likely we will get offers, but possibly not the alleged £9m we apparently knocked back?

12 Aug 2018 23:03:12
So he suddenly has a back injury just when the team apparently needs him most. Boyata, time to get rid!

1.) 13 Aug 2018 11:24:39
Not surprised in the slightest that this diddy is pulling these stunts! Actually annoys me that this clown is getting so much attention! Said it on here more than once, this guy is an awful defender and no 3 easy games at the WC will convince me otherwise! The thing about it that gets me angry the most is that Brendan somehow rates him as our best CB! Are we really that bad at the back for this to be true! Any sort of decent offer should have been accepted straight away and the money used to buy a centre half who can actually defend! But no we just knock it back and go into tomorrow’s game with 2 centre half’s we know are not good enough!

23 Jul 2018 07:21:16
I know it's been talked about many times before, but I'd put in a cheeky wee offer for Steven Caulker. Really light at the moment CB wise, an if he could help us through the CL qualifiers it could be a masterstroke. Dunno what BR and PL have line up though. You would think something MUST e going on behind the scenes.

1.) 23 Jul 2018 10:55:10
Was he particularly impressive for Dundee last season? Why not a cheeky wee offer for Berra or Ambrose?

2.) 23 Jul 2018 12:07:42
Your clearly at the wind up kev f@@@ing berra 😘😘.

3.) 23 Jul 2018 12:15:37
Can't think of too many centre-back opponents in Scotland that have really impressed me enough consistently recently to merit the hoops.
We have already signed Hendry and he was a stand-out in a bad side.
The continent has proved to be a good source in previous seasons with guys like Rieper, Balde, Mjallby, Valgaeren, Vega and Van Diijk;
We have also had Rogne, Loovens Schiavchenko and Mjastorovic, who had their good and bad days and I am sure my fellow posters with better memories can come up with more examples (good, bad and ugly) .

4.) 23 Jul 2018 14:25:32
My point is he had a better season than Caulker Mally. We should be setting our sights much higher. I was open to the idea of Caulker last summer but he's now a year further on and not looking particularly good for Dundee.

5.) 23 Jul 2018 15:26:16
Fair point kev but ad have caulker over berra any day.

6.) 23 Jul 2018 16:31:59
Said it before, say it again, The CH we should be signing from the SPL is Cedric Kipre @ Motherwell . He can play @ RB too. I don't think he is even 22 yet bags of power and pace. I accept he is a bit raw but that can be honed

Before anybody highlights that he was sent off TWICE against us let's face it he was hard done by TWICE adds to our French contingent too boy was at Leicester when they were champs! (Y)

7.) 23 Jul 2018 16:57:17
@Jamiebhoy7 - We shouldn’t be touching any defenders in this country with a barge pole.

8.) 23 Jul 2018 17:56:32
What is this obsession with caulker the guy has done nothing in his career to justify buying him . Hendry is better and I think he's our weakest cb.

9.) 23 Jul 2018 17:58:06
Kev we buy the best YOUNG talent in our league in most seasons so why not a defender?

10.) 23 Jul 2018 20:56:11
Kipre is woeful.

11.) 23 Jul 2018 21:49:29
Pretty sure we bought Hendry 6 months ago Jamie.

12.) 24 Jul 2018 00:18:24
Surely a miss type . He didn't mean a cheeky wee offer for Chaulker, he really mean't a stupid wee offer.

14 Jul 2018 23:58:58
Guys, just a quick question. How can Ajax, arguably a smaller club than us who play in a comparitive league, go and spend £14m one one player? While we are always looking for a bargain, I agree with the model we have btw.

1.) 15 Jul 2018 00:52:25
I wouldn't say Ajax are a smaller club than us. They are very similar in many ways. A large fish in a small pond and a rare club that actually has a proud history. The eredivisie is a better standard of league for starters not to mention it would still generate much more money than the spl.

2.) 15 Jul 2018 01:04:03
Tv deal mate ours is way below everyone's in professional Europe and we deserve more.

3.) 15 Jul 2018 01:16:18
They have already spend 10m on Tadic, 7.5m on a 19y/ o from the Belgian 2nd tier and 5m on a midfielder from Utrecht, the Blind and Tadic signings are proven quality but probably go against there singing policy due to their age, they sold klaassen and Sanchez for a combined 60m last year and have just sold Kliuvert for 15m and have assets such as De Ligt and Ziyech who is expected to leave this summer, so I’d say there pretty flush, there signing policy is pretty much the same as ours but they have the luxury of less strident work permit issues so can get youngesters for South America i. e Sanchez for 4.5m, they also pay bigger fees for players while still making money on them when they sell them, not sure about their wage structure but they have been extremely successful in the past at Developing and selling players, with us having signed French Eddy for a record fee with the hope of selling him for a profit a few years down the line it hopefully bodes well for the future that we will stump up the cash for top talent.

4.) 15 Jul 2018 01:57:46
They are pretty similar to us in size, a big club in a small league being pushed out by the so called big 4 but given the chance can do well against the big money clubs in a one off game. Did ajax not make the europa final a couple of years ago.

5.) 15 Jul 2018 02:54:18
Guys i think our tv revenue is the lowest in Europe So we are kinda ducked them cause we can't expand we suffer loses to lower European team but I'm hoping that's us over this by.

6.) 15 Jul 2018 08:35:05
We are below Sweden Norway Greece and Poland
Hopefully with the amount of bidders at the table now a bit of a auction begins.

7.) 15 Jul 2018 09:27:55
They're not a smaller club than us for starters. They can afford these fees because they have a track record of producing excellent youth players and selling them on for millions over a number of years. Their TV deal is also 3x better than ours (£70M per season) .

8.) 15 Jul 2018 10:37:57
Because the don't have a biscuit tin.

9.) 15 Jul 2018 11:58:30
Ajax consistently speculate to accumulate and it helps that they don’t have work permit restrictions

They signed Zlatan for 9 million from Malmo - would we have taken such a risk, also those manky EPL clubs are hoovering all the talent up with offering big money and ruining the game and careers especially Chelsea.

There should should be restrictions on many players a club can have on the books seeing as agents and players are not doing what’s best for their careers.

Oh, how the tide has turned. Not so long ago PL was going to be hung, drawn and quartered by most on here. Guy has been superb for Celtic.

Beat me to it buddy. I will repeat what you said as I totally agree. As of now, the league is not in the bag. This dip in form in the last couple of MONTHS is worrying. HORRIBLE surface at Rugby Park, but the same for both teams. Come on Bhoys.

Hi Ghuys. not posted in a while. Glad to be back on. Anyways. our wage bill is unsustainable. I do believe there's tension behind the scenes, and I do think this will be BR last season (Hope I'm wrong! ) . We NEED to move players on. I think we all recognise that. I think Ntcham might be away this time tomorrow. I for one, would take a good offer from Porto or anywhere else. Think Broony staying indicates this. HH Bhoys n Ghirls.
