Is it true we've offered more money for Hayes and Christie on loan ED? Find this really strange mate, I thought we'd offered to much in the first place!

Lh86

{Ed007's Note - I don't believe it and if it's true it's a truly awful piece of business.}

1.) 13 Jun 2017 11:40:37
Thinkin the same ED, makes no sense whatsoever! Paying over a million for a 30 year old squad player while letting Christie go! Just cannot see what we gain from it if it's true!

{Ed007's Note - If it is true I'm hoping the chance to play in England appeals to Hayes more than being a bench warmer at Celtic.}

2.) 13 Jun 2017 13:02:50
Christie should be breaking into our team this year rather than being a key player for our closest rivals.

{Ed007's Note - Spot on Davie and I couldn't agree more. Christie should be on our bench as cover for LW/CAM/RW since he can easily play any of those 3 positions at domestic level.}

3.) 13 Jun 2017 13:31:02
Hayes will not be going anywhere soon as Aberdeen have bigger things to worry about finding a new manager for a start if the talk in the town is to believed.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 17:38:41
Hayes is a decent player for Aberdeen a good player but for me I really hope we have more ambition that to really go after him we need to improve the team not just keep it as is.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 18:20:05
Definitely ed, the signing of Hayes would iritate me but no where as much as losing Christie. A loan would be bad enough but Christie as makeweight in a permanent deal for Hayes would be crime of the century.

{Ed007's Note - It just doesn't make sense to me. Although I'm not a fan of Hayes in the slightest but I can see why Rodgers might be interested in him given their history and that he's a decent SPFL level player but to use Christie in the deal is baffling me.}

6.) 13 Jun 2017 22:15:03
Maybe Rodgers is aware of something in Christie's character and behaviour that he doesn't want influencing other young Celtic players . Before anyone thinks I am picking on the boy, I don't know anything re his off- field behaviour but it would explain why Brendan is happy enough for him to be away at least for another season

I def think Brendan can bring Hayes on like he did with Armstrong and look forward to him signing . It goes without saying that if he joins both in forums and on the stands we should give him a very good welcome and give him time.

7.) 14 Jun 2017 08:53:32
Or maybe he thinks the young boy will simply benefit from another season out on loan playing regular first team football.

8.) 14 Jun 2017 17:37:59
No need to panic. The Hayes move reminds me of every other domestic siging. Similar to Barry Robson signing who was excellent for us even at European level as was Hartley.

So i can see why with our recent success financially and on the pitch that fans want a big name but give Hayes a chance.

As for Christie. He is young and won't get in front of Rogic or Armstrong atm. Good thing is he is quality and when one of them get sold he will step in with ease.

11 Jun 2017 18:40:50
God not even 24hrs after the final whistles gone and the hacks are touting griff for a move to the promised land! Embarrassing is not the word for this so called journalism! It's actually laughable!

Lh86

1.) 11 Jun 2017 19:18:04
He's been linked to England for ages.
Leeds were interested before monk left. Lambert was supposedly wanting to take him back to wolves as well.

2.) 11 Jun 2017 20:10:24
Scottish media lies, why repeat . Ignore them they might get fed up.

3.) 11 Jun 2017 20:49:33
The WBA stuff only started today. What a joke. They're a long ball pub team barely a hundred fans to scrape together. Journalism at its usual worst.

4.) 11 Jun 2017 22:48:24
surely you had to know there would be loads of rumours about him going down south after them goals not surprised in the least that Newcastle are one of the rumoured teams.

5.) 11 Jun 2017 23:32:52
These are not rumours lies started by Scottish media to try to upset player, agent or fans .
A rumour to have any meaning should only be taken seriously when Celtic receive an actual bid for a player . Clubs can make enquirers re other club's player but if club tells him player is not for sale and that they wouldn't welcome a bid that's usually that .
I would be very surprise if Celtic had received a bid for Griffiths.

6.) 11 Jun 2017 23:42:15
These are not rumours started by media to upset fans or the player! Away and gies peace, utter garbage! That's exactly what it is! Utter nonsense printed without any foundation or hint of proof! And not a word about it before quarter to 7 on Saturday nite!

7.) 12 Jun 2017 00:36:13
Lh86 I think you may have misread what old man Chris was saying he said it was lies by the media.

8.) 12 Jun 2017 01:29:53
Apologies, I thought u were saying the media wasn't lying! Haha, I'm thinking surely u can't be serious! Sorry again Chris. but only if I've picked u up wrong, if not I stand by my original post 😂😂😜😜.

9.) 12 Jun 2017 23:48:11
Don't worry about it Lh86 . We can all make mistakes .

10.) 13 Jun 2017 08:16:15
Dont know why people are still angry about this, its been going on since i was a bhoy, a long long time ago.

19 Mar 2017 16:49:31
Well I thought that was another poor performance today. we've been magnificent this season we really have but we've totally gone off the boil this past 4 5 weeks! Disjointed all over the park! And our 2 main players this season dembele and Sinclair have been really poor the past 3 or 4 games!

They've barely mustered a shot at goal in the past 2 games! And for me dembele, wonderful young player that he is, is either a 9 out 10 in a game or a 5 out 10!

There's never an in between with him, he never gives you a solid 7 out of 10 for a few games! His first touch and hold up play is either brilliant or shocking! And I know he's had an amazing first season and I'm a huge fan but for me wee Griffiths should get a wee run out after the internationals!

The team looks really lethargic and I don't blame them with the amount of games we've played! Just hope they come back from the break feeling refreshed and ready to go for this treble!

Lh86

1.) 21 Mar 2017 09:40:24
The past 45 weeks haha.

2.) 21 Mar 2017 09:42:21
Only joking mate, 100% in agreement with that.

29 Jan 2017 13:12:45
Heard a wee whisper that Liverpool are looking to go for Brendan if klopp equals a near 100 year record of losses in a row in there next home game! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 just wonder if klopp will be hounded and called everything under the sun by the same people who done it to our manager! Well it worked out for the best because he's now where he belongs in paradise! HH

Lh86

1.) 29 Jan 2017 14:17:46
don't believe that - no one in their positions like to admit they ballsed up and he wasn't that well liked by the fans either

Supposedly the sheep have accepted our bid for Hayes,1.3m plus Christie for a season! Seems a bit much to me and not happy about Christie! But Brendan obviously wants him so he'll get my support.

Lh86

1.) 14 Jun 2017 16:57:19
Who I see reporting this?

2.) 14 Jun 2017 18:07:32
Just what we need, a 30 year old from Aberdeen

Last 16 of the Champions League is a definite now we are signing players at Sevco level.

3.) 14 Jun 2017 18:14:46
Can't say I'm impressed by this. I had really hoped we'd turned a corner and would only see CL level or promising youngsters. I really hope he's not our first choice target for that RAM spot.

Now to tow the 'in everything Celtic do we trust' line, and churn out some positives; He's good enough domestically (not hard) . I'd have him over Forrest (not hard) . He's a Celtic fan (might have made that up, not sure) . Perhaps the analytics guys have spotted something I haven't (this is hard) . Sometimes when putting a jigsaw together, it's easiest to start with the corner pieces (after that BS, I'm done) .

As for Christie going out on loan, if he's obviously not part of BR's plans right now, regular games might be best. Sometimes I wonder if it's best to have a youngster out on loan or in and around the superior first team and coaches. I guess it's down to the individual and those that aid his development. So no complaints there.

4.) 14 Jun 2017 18:34:11
Kev t. he's a good player . we should have taken a chance on him 5 year ago though . spl great europe? . is he for the squad or replacing Roberts that is the worry for me . good squad buy or biscuit tin again and squad filled out with loans.

5.) 14 Jun 2017 18:37:12
If we're serious about being in Europe after Christmas then we're going to need strength in depth and Hayes is more than good enough to set up and score plenty of goals for us domestically. He's untried in Europe but his recent form has earned him international caps for a decent ROI team.

6.) 14 Jun 2017 19:35:30
Give the guy a chance, he's not played a game yet! Hayes will be a good signing for us, he's quick and has good distant shooting skills. These are attributes that win games. So what he's 30? Still got a good 4 years left in him, he looks fit just now and will only get fitter under our training regime.
I think this is the first of a few good quality players coming in.

7.) 14 Jun 2017 21:08:05
We have so many experts here, I am surprised that the club which is often accused of the biscuit tin mentality, went to the expense and bother of appointing Brendan Rodgers as manager .

8.) 14 Jun 2017 21:31:15
DRB - we have a squad full of good players, now is the time to sign better.

Of course I'll support the player, all the players get that chance. Remember when Ciftci signed folk on this site said he'd score loads for us and now look at him.

Lots of SPL players we signed did well against Celtic 95% of them fail to make the grade

Signing Hayes for me is not good enough, even if it's back up to Paddy Roberts if he signs.

9.) 14 Jun 2017 21:35:33
That's not what the guys on here are saying, he is a cracking we player, we may all well have to eat humble pie. I think it's about the board here, we are getting mixed messages, rodgers surely would have urged money when signing his contract. Plus bid dd said last 16 .

But maybe they want it for very little investment, let's be real here the board have infuriated us before. They have made massive pre tax profits from Brendan alone, plus cl money. We can afford it big time. All we want is just to see some ambition. It's like buying a Ferrari and pitting fiat pinto wheels on it.

10.) 14 Jun 2017 21:52:43
got to laugh on here folks talking about players age hayes being 30! let me see . brown 31 best season by far. lustig 30 still going strong . sinclair 28 quality . who cares what age they are if BR wants hayes he must see something in him does anyone think rodgers will be a yes man and just accept his lot from the board NO CHANCE he would be off in a shot said before hayes has ability and i trust the coaching team implicitly . after last season how can people moan really.

11.) 15 Jun 2017 06:05:30
Old man . why did they go to the bother and expense with oneill and then not back him aftet two year? . mcann telling burns if he wanted another player hed have to buy one himself. and tbe duds brought in under delia . Our board have a history of not backing managers and taking the cheap option . Hopefully under rodgers this changes.

12.) 15 Jun 2017 21:10:06
Simply if O'Neil had been allowed to continue signing £5-£6 m players on massive wages in their late 20's and early 30's on long contracts the club could have gone burst . D D who insisted on getting O'Neil in, also saw the need to put a halt to him and bought in Lawwell with the instruction to cut back spending and reduce wage bill. In fact damage was so bad in board's mind last season was first season of increased spending .

Kev T you speak about Clichi, I speak about Armstrong . Many smart people reckoned Armstrong wasn't Celtic class.

27 May 2017 17:17:26
Brilliant season lads and a fitting end to it! Got a bit emotional seeing KT come back out to get the cup! HAIL HAIL 💛💚💛💚🍀🍀🍀🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾😊😊😊.

Lh86

1.) 27 May 2017 17:42:12
Glad I wasn't the only one. Seeing KT collecting his medal and lifting the cup - tears in my eyes!

Fa**y eh! 🍀🍀🍀🍀😁😁😁.

2.) 27 May 2017 17:54:36
Not at all mate! A superb end to an emotional week! Proud to be a Tim 💛💚💛🍀🍀🍀.

3.) 27 May 2017 20:55:15
You can't not love kt, Celtic through n through n he has ability n heart that r second to none
Proud as anything with the result today, the team have been class all season n kt coming back just showed the desire of him n our team.
Brendan Rodgers has been a class act n I think u could see the emotion of the occasion in how he celebrated at the final whistle, quality manager who will progress us season after season
Brendan Rodgers is here for ten in a row.
Ps I hope the bromance keeps paddy here haha.

4.) 28 May 2017 00:24:14
Totally agree! What an amazing season. So many could have had rightful claims to POTY.
Fingers crossed we get Armstrong - who I thought was man of the match again today - on a new long contract, and hopefully, we can sign Roberts. Would put the cherry on the cherry on the cherry on the cherry!

02 May 2017 09:19:30
Well I can't say I'm shocked this morning to see the Scottish hacks trying to sell off our players! Armstrong is wanted big jozo is wanted dembele is offski and even though Brendan has just signed a new deal he still won't be with us for long! Utter desperation and printing Shoite they wish would happen but won't! Really is quite pathetic! It really does cut deep the thought of the champs dominating for years to come. well get used to it because that's exactly what's happening!

Lh86

1.) 02 May 2017 10:38:43
It's all they have left to cling onto rather than print (or even contemplate) the truth about their own shambolic fake club or the finger-pointing fiasco at the trial of wee Craigie.
The sevco street salesmen outside the asbestos dome are even selling five year calendars so they can cross off Brendan's contract a day at a time ha ha ha.

2.) 02 May 2017 14:33:09
The article I laughed at most was Broony and Hendo's short video clip in the car on the way home from the game on Saturday and the DR are running an article on the breaches of road safety they committed. Even got a direct quote from a director of a road safety charity condemning the two of them! Absolute cretins.

3.) 02 May 2017 15:24:53
They always seem to find away to shock us with new lows and complaints! did any one hear bfdj last nite! Foaming at the mouth at how broony looked over his shoulder, raised the point of his elbow! And intentionally tried to injure Kenny miller? Went as far as screaming " Vincent luney " should be reviewing the incident and taking action! Only for the panel to laugh n tell him luney hasn't been on the review panel for years 😂😂😂😂😂.

4.) 02 May 2017 17:37:41
He never said a word when that horrible cretin Millar tried to break SA's legs.
Must admit bfdj did get his prediction about the game correct, after the sf and a caller talking about how Celtic strolled it, he said "you can bet you bottom dollar that won't happen at ibrox on Saturday" your rite mate, it was easier much easier. lol.

07 Apr 2017 15:07:15
He's certain to go, he's certain to go, no he's staying for 10 In a Row! 😜🍀🙊 Chuffed to bits Brendan has signed till 2021! Can it get any better being a Tim right now!

Lh86

1.) 07 Apr 2017 15:57:11
Did anybody doubt he would stay to try for ten and have s go at the CL. Will be good to shut up the Hun press trying to get him a move to England though

Hoped it was news of keeping wee paddy. Maybe in the summer hopefully.

2.) 07 Apr 2017 16:05:51
dont see the point of it, he was already on one year rolling contracts. i would rather the money was spent on top class players. a lot of fuss over nothing.

3.) 07 Apr 2017 16:17:11
Neil McCann will have nothing to talk about now.

4.) 07 Apr 2017 16:36:21
Shrewd bit of business actually James. We tie a top class manager up for 4 years meaning if an EPL club comes sniffing and offers a deal he can't refuse, Celtic pocket a fair compo package for him. Also, I think Brendan wants to go down in history as our 10 in a row manager. If anything, it's a show of how settled we are for the foreseeable future compared to Sevco, Brother Pedro and the comedy Gold club.

{Ed007's Note - It also shows our current players and potential signings that the manager is committed and here for the long haul. I'm hearing that Stuart Armstrong extending his contract should be finalised in the next few days but the announcement could be held back till the cup weekend build up to maximise the feel good factor.}

5.) 07 Apr 2017 16:55:53
Exactly ed, it can't be anything but positive news. I'm sure he wouldn't have signed for the four years unless he was given certain assurances regarding budgets and control of the club.

{Ed007's Note - Definitely mate, Rodgers will know that the board will back him and do everything they can to help move the Club forward. Rodgers has seen that unlike the EPL where immediate success is demanded he'll get plenty of time here to develop young players which he obviously loves to do when you hear him speak.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see out transfer record broken this summer.}

6.) 07 Apr 2017 17:28:44
Amen to that Brother

HH.

{Ed007's Note - By the time Rodgers leaves Celtic we will be light years ahead in Scotland and hopefully our reputation in Europe will be restored along the way.}

7.) 07 Apr 2017 17:59:00
Ten in a row is going to be a great party for us, but a think Rodgers fancies building a team to do something in Europe. Then who knows what could happen. It's all good anyway, stability is what we've been crying out for for years, now we have it we can push the boundaries regarding players in and wages paid to attract the big bhoys.

8.) 07 Apr 2017 18:29:43
I'm so excited with the way are doing business right now

Top class manager
New Hotel inbound
Training ground improvements
Player development
Quality signings

And most of all attractive football
I am pishing my keks in anticipation of things to come.

If only the rangers were died,

Wait one, they are!
Hail hail.

9.) 07 apr 2017 19:48:40
vambo he's still got pedro the amazing draw specialist to talk about lol.

10.) 07 Apr 2017 19:51:28
Or he could be playing everyone like a fiddle? Earns more coin for himself in the short term but also softens the blow for the club when he leaves for Arsenal in the summer getting them a decent compensation fee for a 4 year deal rather than a one year rolling. Or when the Pedro juggernaut steamrollers the 7 in a row and he gets the tin tack he coins 3 years redundancy? Or have I taken it too far?

11.) 07 Apr 2017 19:52:27
i know all that rab, but it doesn't matter if he's on a 1 year, 4 year or 10 year deal, if a big english club comes in for him he'll be off anyway, no man is bigger than celtic.

12.) 07 Apr 2017 19:54:36
season ticket hike, i wonder what that's to pay for?

13.) 07 Apr 2017 22:35:18
Excellent news regarding Brendan, wee McCann will be gutted as it was the only bit of hope the sevconians had, well that and Dave kings warchest 😂😂😂
Being the manager to take Celtic to the ten i think would look great on Brendan's CV, add to that him improving us year on year in champions league he would have his pick of the jobs.

Next to get paddy Roberts signed permanent, Armstrong renewed contract, which as Ed said is on the cards, and a champions league level goalkeeper, a striker n possibly a midfielder with an eye for a pass, which Brendan has been talking about.
Here we go 10 in a row.

14.) 08 Apr 2017 01:30:44
UJ, Mind the gap to St Johnstone. 4 to go to 10 in a row.

15.) 08 Apr 2017 03:22:36
Season ticket hike? Was that a them or us comment? Not having a dig wast sure where that was aimed. BR had a negotiated slice of European money as an incentive. Eye watering if what I'm told is real. So what if he has now been given a boosted established safe contract. I'll happily say that I don't think this type of optimisim has ever existed in our fan group. I don't mean happy with the team I mean that we will crush our domestic leauge and bar interference/ off days pick up cups. Unique circumstances admittedly. Sevco off the rails, Aberdeen having thier best run in decades but still powder puff in europe. This is a rare rare time. It is frighteningly delightful to see where our team will be by the end of the next window if we hold onto our best. I'm sticking my pocket money away lads as this maybe a year to travel. If we screw the nut we may do well abroad this year.

16.) 08 Apr 2017 11:19:38
Am hearing there's in excess of a 10.000 waiting list for sts
.
uj think that's wishful thinking on your part time to be a big bhoy and face up to it here we go ten in a row mind the gap HH.

12 Mar 2017 22:31:10
Not going to be to hard on the team today, we've been brilliant and consistent all season. got a few issues with the team, not just today but the past few months! First of all bitton cannot be allowed to continue in the first team, one of the most frustrating players I've ever watched. he's slow predictable and has the heart of a mouse! He's got to be dropped asap!

2nd is and it's understandable why that we've seriously lost our edge and sharpness of late! I'm hoping that today's result gives them that wee boot up the arse they need going into the final few weeks of the season!

Today was merely a blip and it gives me a giggle to see the joy in the sevconians faces after scraping a draw, even though they're further away from the sheep shaggers and #goingfor55 is officially dead! Lol the treble is well and truly on and today will ensure no more complacency creeps in! HH 🍀🍀.

Where u hearing this ED? Not see the boy play but see he's only 19! U seen much of him mate? What's our chances of getting him?

Lh86

{Ed007's Note - He's very highly rated and clubs like Liverpool and Spurs have been scouting Duverne who has been compared to Raphael Varane. We're the only club that has made a move with an offer so we'll see how it pans out, like most youngsters gametime is very important to him as he doesn't want to sit on the bench anywhere.}

Sam don't worry about it. we just started pre season on Monday! There is no rush to bring players in. yes it would be good to have them bedded in but we've got more than enough to deal with the first couple of CL qualifiers! Brendan says he'll add 2 or 3 bits of quality and that's exactly what he'll do! This is a squad that just went through a whole campaign unbeaten, so there's absolutely no need to worry. we're in as good a pace as we've been in for years, both on and off the pitch. this is actually the most relaxed I've ever felt going into a new season!
