Celtic lining up a move for hapoel beer sheva defender Hatem Abd Elhamed. 28 years old can also play RB and is apparently available for 1.6m
Don't know how much truth there is to it but personally it sounds as if it's just another name thrown out there in our direction.

Anyone know if there is any truth to this Christian stuani link or is it usual paper talk?
I know he was amongst the top goal scorers in la liga and at 32 is a decent return for his age but I personally can't see this going anywhere and he's most likely going to stay in a better league.
Would love to see a different formation next season with 2 up top as this formation we play is far too predictable to teams now (I know it sounds daft as we've won 3 trebles with it) Just think it would give us better options/ ideas and the thought of a fully fit griff back playing with edouard would be great if it could work.
If lenny takes the job then hopefully he can get bayo upto speed and that's another option for us in attack, all the speculation is going to happen but no doubt we need faces out the door before we bring in better quality, especially defence and another 1 or 2 in attack.

What youse all thinking?

1.) 30 May 2019 12:54:34
I don't see why we need 4 strikers but guess if we're going to play 2 up top then we need cover for them both. For that kind of money Stuani will cost I'd rather we spent big on the defence and not waste most of our budget on another striker.

2.) 30 May 2019 14:40:49
Apparently will Cost around 8mill plus Barcelona interested also.

3.) 30 May 2019 18:08:46
No way we are paying 8m for a 32 year old.

4.) 31 May 2019 00:17:15
I think this one is usual paper talk but that's what happens every transfer window with us, we're going to be linked with every player under the sun.

5.) 31 May 2019 00:51:35
Thats fantasy prices. there's not a snowballs chance we would pay that fee for someone in their prime never mind someone in their 30's.

6.) 31 May 2019 08:31:03
Like French eddy?

7.) 31 May 2019 13:52:44
Wylie that was a one off for a kid we knew had the ability to get us a good return on our money.

Hearing the KT deal being offered is in the region of 20m up front taking the deal up to 25m based on appearances.
I personally wouldn't accept anything than at least 25-30m up front the way the market is nowadays but if the decision is down to KT to further his development and career then we need to respect and accept that.
As of new signings I think we're getting to that stage where a few more signings need to be made asap, with money still left over from dembeles transfer last summer I think a quality right back and box to box midfielder are our priorities.

1.) 14 Jul 2019 16:57:03
Just been reported whatever deal they came up with has been declined.

2.) 14 Jul 2019 19:46:08
I've heard, from a mate who's been on the money about loads of stuff prior to it being public, that we value KT at 40M. Wether that's a straight fee or with add ons, I don't know but with the reported 25M just having been turned down, it looks like we're finally demanding the going rate for our players, SPFL or not.

11 Jul 2019 14:37:06
It's probably going to divide opinion but would anyone take big forster back?
He's currently 3rd choice at Southampton and has lost his way a bit but he was unreal for us under lenny, especially in Europe which I think we're going to need if we get back to the big time.
I really like Bain and I do think he deserves a chance but I just think the likes of Gordon or forster would make us a bit more solid with there added height and experience.
Bain is a decent keeper but he does struggle with crossed balls and set pieces which is too much of a risk to have in Europe.

1.) 11 Jul 2019 15:22:40
His wages are £90,000 per week do you really think we are going to bring in a second choice keeper and pay a substantial part of that.

04 Jul 2019 13:01:10
Great bit of business so far from Lennon and the board, 10m for 2 defenders who will hopefully make us more solid especially in Europe.
Saying that, right back is a must now, we can't go through the most important games of our season with Ralston there, nothing against the lad and hopefully he can stay fit and play his part but we need solidity on that side.
I've seen the likes of jenkinson, Matthews and odonnell being mentioned but I honestly think we could push the boat out for an upgrade, thoughts?

1.) 04 Jul 2019 15:20:36
The boat has been missed in castagne from atalanta would have been a massive signing however his price will now be over 10 mill easy.

03 Jul 2019 14:13:54
We all know we are in dyer need of a new quality right back and I'm hoping we splash the cash on quality as we've done with Jullien at centre half but just a quick note if anyone would take Matthews back at parkhead? I personally would rather we were looking at an upgrade but if the chance came I would rather take a punt and have him temporary for these qualifiers instead of Ralston. Matthews is still only 27 and it seems as if he's lost his way and lost his confidence since he left us but maybe lenny can bring the best out of him again. I'm not saying I want him back as our first choice right back I would love for us to get better quality but I think he would be a decent addition as a back up providing he's a free agent and would be on lower wages, he's got the champions league experience previously with us so surely a better bet than the likes of odonnell and Ralston, thoughts?

1.) 03 Jul 2019 14:23:17
I think we need 2 right backs a quality one and a good back up ralston imo is neither and I would sell him instantly imo I would take Mathews as back up yes why not he’s free and better than ralston.

2.) 03 Jul 2019 14:46:16
I'd take him on a free so long as we buy a quality first choice.

3.) 03 Jul 2019 14:58:06
Agree with the lads, I’d take Matthews on a free but as a back up only! A good quality first choice right back is needed in there! Matthews has struggled with injuries and form and there’s no way we can depend on him for 50 plus games next season!

4.) 03 Jul 2019 15:42:32
I'm not keen on re-signing players, it very rarely tends to work out. I'd prefer us to sign a proven quality RB around 23/ 24 on a 4 or 5 year deal 👍.

5.) 03 Jul 2019 22:52:22
I agree guys bring Matthews back in he would be solid back up in the right back department.

6.) 04 Jul 2019 12:10:46
He would definitely be a solid back up. Personally don't think Ralston can cut it. Was he not a bit injury prone when he was with us previously?

04 Jun 2019 12:40:08
Does anyone know if there is any truth to thus apparent leaked document regarding our recruitment plans for this summer or is it a hoax?
All over the papers but imo think this could be bullsh*t, if it is true then it's a massive lack of ambition with some of the names on it. The likes of harper and tomori seemed liked the only ones with real value and potential.
Hopefully we spend real money on decent quality and Lennon gets fully backed.

1.) 04 Jun 2019 14:42:41
Its real.

I actually think some of the players on it would be cracking signings.

An experienced first choice RB and CB what we are crying out for in Smith and Jorgensen.
A back up RB which suggests Lustig could be away.
A back up LB who is a french u20 and was one of the best defenders in ligue2 last season.
A young CB who had a cracking season with Dereby in the Championship.
Two young full of energy CM who we can pick up for buttons.
A winger who has worked with Lennon before (probably my only disappointment on the list) .
two strikers one we probably have no chance of getting (Maupay) and the other (Mousset) a french u21 who hasn't really had a chacne at Bournemouth.

2.) 04 Jun 2019 14:44:56
James Justin will probably go for 6 million upwards from Luton . Just shows what an inflated market England is. It must be a real concern that small clubs in England and also other countries where you could pick up bargains are all after big money for their players now. Probably a lot more than our club or any other clubs in Scotland can afford. The way it’s going I can’t see us being able to compete with the fees people are asking for if it continues.
The gulf between rich leagues is just getting wider.

Wouldn't want him anywhere near celtic park, good stamina and a half decent strike but was lazy, cared more about his hair and thought he was too good to be in the team.
We got about a good 6 months out him in the space of 2 and a half years in 2016/ 17 so I think lawwell deserves a medal for negotiationg a 7m deal.
Christie looks a far better player and there's probably far better players out there than Armstrong so we would be going backwards if he ever came here again.

Anybody with some common sense will see Paterson and cadden are bang average for teams far below our level, we're needing solid players who suit there positions not somebody who can just fill in, that's when mistakes will happen in high pressure games.
I think for a quality right back and another box to box midfielder if ntcham does go we would need to spend about 10-13m, I like rogic, he's probably the most technically gifted player we have but he can't last 90 minutes so I would probably keep him for certain games and bring somebody else in who will get up and down and link the play.

I think we all know how obvious it is we need a new right back and we are quite right to question if the work is getting done but just because there hasn't been a signing yet doesn't mean the club aren't trying.
I'm pretty sure Lennon and whoever else is recruiting can see how blatantly obvious it is we need to strengthen but it's not always as straight forward as it seems to get deals done.
We've been linked with 2 guys down south who I'm guessing prefer to stay down there (Stacey and smith) so we have been trying.
Look at this way, the past few years we've barely made any attempt to sign players until the last couple of weeks when it's a risk but we spend 10m in the space of a week before the first qualifier was made so work is getting done.
These games are the hardest I totally agree but we have more than enough quality in the current team to get past the likes of teams in the first 2 rounds.
If we get to the 3rd and play off rounds and still haven't signed a decent right back then Its time to slam the club, until then have faith in Lennon.

Have to agree with the majority here, brown looks like he's slowly starting to struggle with the pace of the game he's becoming a weak point in high pressure games.

I would still have him in certain matches where we need experience against good European teams if we make the group stages as we would probably have less possession but they outplayed us in midfield both matches at ibrox last season and at times in the last game at parkhead.
The likes of bitton isn't going to cut it anymore and I doubt kouassi and ntcham will get anywhere near the team now so we'll probably need to sell and get a top drawer defensive mid who will break up attacks and let the likes of mcgregor and christie dictate the play, brown just seems to be the weak link in the team now.

I don't think anyone really knows what the situation is with KT and arsenal, I would take his agents comments with a pinch of salt he's only said there could be a move if the club's valuation is met which is realistically the same with every club in the world.
Every player has there price and KT is no different celtic are a business at the end of the day and if a concrete offer comes in which is deemed acceptable then it will come out that we've accepted a bid. These figures are nothing short of media speculation on what they think his value is, celtic could be demanding 30-35m for all we know which in this days transfer market is probably his value.
The bottom line is that KT hasn't once been quoted or said in public that he doesn't know where his future is or where he'll be playing next season so just because we sign a left back we shouldn't assume he's off even if it might seem probable.
The stories from the media are a pile of bullsh*t in my opinion, until I see celtic announce a bid has been accepted and he's agreed personal terms with another club then I'll believe it but until that happens what are we all honestly going with? Until that happens he's a celtic player and we hold all the cards.
