I think it's Jim or Kennedy depending on rest of season.

Celtic have a biscuit tin mentality. They won't go outside their budget. I'd be surprised if they go for AGrade proven managers. let's get real.

Aussie Ray, on the most part I am in agreement but we need to remember that once in a while, we step away from that model and bring in someone of the calibre or MON or Rodgers and back them in the transfer market.

Hopefully, this is going to be one of those times were we go big.

Personally, I believe that like me, there are a lot of angry fans who are angry at the club for failing to deliver 10 in a row and they will not be placated by some mediocre manager coming in, way too late.

We didn't go big to secure the 10 we just went with the cheap option that no fan wanted. The club is in a bit of a mess, there's a massive rebuild needed, Lawwell is away, C.V. has hit us financially and with the possibility next seasons league winners will get direct entry into the CL hopefully we show some ambition with the DoF, Manager and squad additions as player sales should raise the club plenty of money.

I’m not angry that they failed to deliver the ten, I’m angry over how they’ve gone about this season. I think Lennon did a pretty good job last year, but this season has been poor from before the league kicked off. We didn’t even play that well in the 5-1 opening day win, then the form went down hill. It was clear to the majority who weren’t wearing green goggles from the first the rangers game that Lennon needed replaced, but the board stuck their fingers up at us. That’s why I’m angry.
I’m self employed and will have to have a serious think about renewing or not, but if Kennedy gets the job, or we go for someone like jack Ross, then I’m not giving them my money. This kind of appointment will show that they don’t care about the fans onion, and it’s still only about finances. Unless of course, Kennedy somehow wins 8 games 5-0.

Funny feeling penny pinching going to come into play. Time to watch this inadequate board to make another disaster keep out the showers please.

Not a chance of any penny pinching, We are going to see Dermot react like he did after the Semi defeat
We will see a total overhaul of the squad once the new DOF and Coach comes in.

I hope your right Jonbhoy but I think celtic will go the cheap option again though.

There is a lot of anxiety mixed with the excitement of a new manager because of the number of baffling and damaging decisions that were made time after time to get us to this low point.
Everything would suggest a huge shake-up with a top manager; however we have had 12 months of financial hardship and a reputation for over caution and even penny-pinching; so we can only hope the imminent sales of expected departures can compensate? Who knows for sure?

It's a frustrating concept that DD apparently only seems to do what's best for Celtic when we're in a bad place. I don't know how much truth is in that but surely he'd prefer for us to have a quality manager all the time?

If we sell most of the players expected to leave we could have 60 odd million. Not to say that will all be spent on new players but even half of that could tempt a top quality manager in the door.

You would think so Kev but if you look at our last manager and even the way he was appointed with NO other candidate looked at or considered then I don't think anyone could claim that the club always wanted the best.

I really think that talk was just Lawwell bluster Tony.

I’ve never understood WTF Lawell was doing in the shower anyway.

Penny pinching will result in 57,000 season tickets becoming 30,000 season tickets. I won’t be renewing if Kennedy gets the job.
I’m self employed and will have to seriously think about renewing due to the C.V. situation. If the board are prepared to stick their fingers up at me with a cheap appointment then I’ll be returning the sentiment.

Even if we sell out top assets in the summer for the fees being suggested, the manager won't get anywhere close to half. The reason I say that is due to how deals tend to be structured, i. e. some money up from, with the rest in installments over the coming years.

I reckon we’ll lose around 12 of the current first team squad in the summer. That’s a huge rebuild for any manager, and if we’re waiting on McKay to come to appoint a DoF, before we appoint a manger, we can kiss goodbye to the CL and perhaps congratulate them on two in a row.
Then consider that we are unlikely to get the real value of Eddie and Ajer, so there’s less money from transfers to bring in 12 good players. The club needs to grow a pair and take on debt to get us back where we want to be.
Think we also need Desmond to take charge and appoint someone ahead of McKay.

If DD takes on the job personally of appointing a D. O. F. and a Manager then there will be no penny pinching.

He has not failed us yet and I'm sure will appreciate the need to get back on track to prevent the monkey's from adding a 2nd league title in their short history.
